It had been a week since Ruby first came to Chaotic, she had already had 2 more d drome matches and won both of them. She had found Jekyll, the boy from the Lava Pond, again and asked him to help her on her first scan quest. Where are they now you ask?
Ruby and Jekyll are currently seen walking on the outskirts of UnderWorld city.
"So who is this friend of yours whose supposed to help us?" Ruby asked.
"You'll see." Was all Jekyll said. "He should be here soon enough."
Suddenly Ruby was tackled something and fell on the ground.
"Ah! Help it's gonna eat me!" She cried in a panic.
"Eat humans? Gross." A voice said as Ruby noticed whatever tackled her was off.
"Ruby, meet my friend H'earring." Jekyll said as he introduced a creature that looked like a large humanoid rabbit with green skin. He was significantly smaller than both of them.
"Aw! You're adorable!" Ruby gushed as she pulled H'earring into a hug.
"Hey! Let go!" H'earring said as he struggled to get out of her surprisingly strong grip.
"Ruby, H'earring isn't a plushie. Let him go." Jekyll said.
"Aww..." Ruby whined but reluctantly let him go.
Once H'earring was put down Jekyll started talking. "So, you said you could help us get some scans of some battlegear?" He asked the small creature.
"Depends, did you get me anything?" H'earring asked expectantly.
Jekyll rolled his eyes and pulled out a bag from his pocket, he made a disgusted face and hurling sounds upon bringing it out. It's contents were some sort of purple substance that Ruby couldn't make out.
"Dractyl Scales, old, gross and slimy. Just how you like 'em." He said as he gave the bag to H'earring. Immediately after getting the bag and started... eating the scales. Something that made Ruby's face turn green and made her look away.
"So, about that battlegear?" Jekyll asked.
taking a moment to pause from eating, H'earring looked at Jekyll. "Khybon recently made a new batch of Phobia Masks and he's having them brought here to UnderWorld City. If we're quick, you can probably scan them while they're unloading them and get out before they notice." He explained before going back to eating his 'meal'.
"Why don't we just ask them if we can scan it?" Ruby asked.
"No!" Both H'earring and Jekyll exclaimed making Ruby jump.
"Why not?" Ruby asks.
"I can't really explain it to well now and I'll probably have to do it later, but long story short, a lot of creatures in Perim aren't the biggest fans of Chaotic players and Khybon is no exception." Jekyll said.
"Plus, Khybon doesn't trust humans around his battlegear after the first time he made the Phobia Mask." H'earring added, remembering the first time he took two of his human friends to scan it only for it to be destroyed and for Khybon to be angry. Of course, he was the only one who was around when Khybon was angry.
"So, no asking?" Ruby meekly said.
"No." H'earring and Jekyll said at the same time.
"Ok." Ruby said dejectedly. "At least this battlegear should help me out."
"Why do you need new battlegear so badly anyways?" Jekyll asked.
"I have an upcoming match with this player who is supposed to be really good. I think her screen name was ThunderValkyrie." Ruby said making Jekyll suck in a breath.
"Nora? Tell her I said hi." H'earring said as he continued to eat.
"Ooooh, good luck with that." Jekyll said with hints of pity in his voice.
"What? Do you know her?" Ruby asked.
"Yeah, I battled her a few times before." He told her.
"You think you can help me out and tell me how she plays?" Ruby asked.
Jekyll shook his head. "I can't. Nora is basically the human equivalent of if Chaotic had a randomizer button. She constantly plays mixed teams and when she doesn't it's because a creature she wants to use can't be used in mixed armies. She constantly uses different strategies and formations, and she somehow manages to make things that should never work, work." He explained, having faced this madness in person himself.
Ruby just sighed.
Suddenly, hearing lifted one of his ears as though he was picking up something.
"Hey, I think I can hear them now." H'earring said catching the attention of both humans.
They all move to look and see that there was indeed a vehicle coming up to UnderWorld City.
"Come on. Let's follow them to see where they take the masks." Jekyll told Ruby who nodded.
They followed the vehicle to see it stop at the UnderWorld Colosseum.
"Looks like they're adding them to the list of gear creature's can choose for the Colosseum." Jekyll said. "Let's wait for them to finish and leave so we can sneak in easier."
After a couple minutes of waiting the UnderWorld guards that were with the mask got back in their ride and left.
"Now's our chance!" Jekyll told Ruby and they both snuck in through the door to the colosseum to find the armory with two Phobia Masks on the wall.
"One for both of us, today's our lucky day." She said as they pulled out their scanners and and started scanning the masks.
"Just the little more aaaand got it!" Ruby cheered.
"I'm gonna go now, it's almost time for my match." Ruby said as she ported out.
A few minutes later...
Ruby had entered the Imthor Drome to see her opponent. She is a teenage girl, with light skin, turquoise eyes and shoulder-length orange hair. She wore pink fingerless gloves, a white sleeveless turtleneck top with a heart shaped cutout just above her chest with a diagonal cut through it. Over the shirt, she wears a open cropped, short-sleeved navy blue bomber jacket with pink stripes along the sleeves alongside pink buckled cuffs and red lining on the collar. She wears a pleated pink skirt with two wide belt loops for matching belt, the skirt has a white layered tulle. She wears knee-high pink socks just visible above her white calf-length boots with pink laces and black low heels, soles and toes.

"So I guess your ThunderValkyrie?" Ruby asked nervously.
"Yep!" The girl said happily. "I'm Nora, it's great to meet you! I hope your ready to BRING IT for this fight!"
"Good to meet you too." Ruby said, unsure of what to make about her opponent.
"Both players, please dock your scanners."
Both Ruby and Nora both placed their scanners and started choosing their cards.
'Ok, Khybon is great for locations like Fear Valley and Castle Pillar the Phobia mask should help him with challenge attacks. And Nauthilax, Aquatic Spy with a Torrent Krinth will wash her creatures out. And it's a good thing I managed to trade for one of Jekyll's extra copies of Lord Van Bloot.' Ruby thought as she finished building her formation and set her Mugic.
She and Nora locked in their decks she Nora had Xaerv, Ekuud and Hammerdoom Chantcaller. This made Ruby raise an eyebrow.
'Jekyll wasn't kidding when he said she used mixed armies.'
Back at the pub Jekyll was watching the match closely.
'Stay careful Ruby.' He thought in concern. 'Nora's creatures look like they don't have synergy and she just picked at random. But knowing her she has some sort of crazy plan.'
"Would you like anything?" Asked a robot that came up to him.
"I'd like a chocolate milkshake." Jekyll answered.
"For this 3-on-3 battle, TheCrimsonReapr will be the first attacker. Please spin your Location randomizer."
Ruby spun the randomizer which landed on Everrain.
'Sweet! Nauthilax will be boosted there and Ekuud's earth attacks will be weak.' Ruby thought. "Nauthilax attacks Ekuud!" Ruby declared as she touched her screen and she was transformed into an aquatic creature. His skin is green and slimy, like the algae that colors the rocks of Everrain the UnderWorld. He has large suckers located at the end of his limbs, as well as other useful features.
Nora touched her screen and became an ant-like creature with four arms and four legs. He has a black exoskeleton with red arms.
"Let's get chaotic!" They both exclaimed.
Nauthilax is walking through a forest-like cavern with constant rain and puddles every where.
Suddenly Ekuud jumped out of some bushes. "Rock Wave!" Ekuud summoned a swell of rocks from the ground that surges quickly toward Nauthilax. However they stopped just short of him.
"These aren't even speed bumps. Let me show you a real attack, Steam Rage!" Nauthilax fired a blast of burning hot steam at Ekuud and sending him flying into a tree.
"Sorry Ekuud, but here in the Everrain my Water attacks are pumped up, and with my Torrent Krinth I'm stronger than ever." Nauthilax said as he gestured to an object on his arm before looking back at the Danian. "Meanwhile your Earth are all washed up."
"Just because we're in Everrain doesn't mean I can't fight. Hymn of the Elements, Give me Water attacks!" Ekuud called our and Nauthilax gasped as music played.
"But that's an OverWorld Mugic, Ekuud is a Danian!" Nauthilax exclaimed.
"Ekuud can't, but Xaerv can, and luckily for me he's on my team." Ekuud said.
"Rip Tide!" Ekuud fired a blast of water at Nauthilax, pushing him back.
"Power Pulse!" Ekuud fired a barrage on green fists made of energy at Nauthilax who tried to avoid it but ended up getting pelted by the attack.
"Hailstorm!" Nauthilax fired at Ekuud who was sent flying.
"Thunder Shout!" Ekuud unleashed a devastating blast of sound at Nauthilax who quickly sidesteps it.
"Sorry, but this is over." Nauthilax said as he closed in on an Ekuud who struggling to get up
"It is. Deadwater Devastation!" Ekuud fired a powerful stream of green water at Nauthilax, knocking him down and reducing him to 10 energy.
Ekuud got up and fired another blast of water at Nauthilax, coding him.
Ruby and Ekuud ended up back in the drome as Ekuud turns back into Nora.
"My turn!" Nora said as she spun the location randomizer.
"The next location is... Carnival of Confusion."
"Xaerv attacks Lord Van Bloot!" Nora exclaimed as both players touched their screens. Ruby turns into the familiar Lord Van Bloot and Nora turns into a blue skinned man with bright purple pants and long bluish white hair.
Xaerv is quickly running around the location looking for his enemy.
"Now, if I were a winged skeleton monster, where would I be?" Xaerv said to himself.
"Try above you!" He heard a voice call out and looked up to see Van Bloot flying the air, ready to attack.
"Pebblestorm!" Van bloot exclaimed as he threw out his hands to blast Xaerv. However all that happened was a small pebble flying a couple inches.
"What?!" He cried. Xaerv meanwhile was just laughing at him.
"You've never played here before, have you? Here the Carnival confuses creatures elements and mix them up! For example: Pebblestorm!" Xaerv unleashed a barrage of pebbles as fast as bullets, completely pelting Van Bloot.
"Agh!" Van Bloot grunted in pain as he fell to the ground after getting hit by the attack.
"Bet that hurt, didn't it? Especially with this!" Xaerv said as he gestured to a bracer on his arm which seemed to hold some sort blue stone.
"A Vlaric Shard?!" Van Bloot cried out in shock
"Mm-hm." Xaerv nodded.
"But that battlegear is useless to Xaerv, he's an Air attacker!" Van Bloot exclaimed.
"Well when I put a Carnival of confusion in my deck, I figured I'd give hime it since this location would change his element from Air to Earth." Xaerv explained.
"So let me get this straight, you gave Xaerv, a creature who specializes in Air attacks, a battlegear that boosts Earth attacks that would've been useless to him in almost every situation, because you put a location that you might land on, that would give him Earth attacks. You based your plan with Xaerv on something that could've happened by COMPLETE CHANCE?!" Van Bloot exclaimed in disbelief.
"Yep." Xaerv said in a cheery tone.
"Your insane!" Van Bloot said.
"If I wasn't, this would probably never work. Sludge Gush!" Xaerv shot a violent gush of muddy mire at Van Bloot who flew into the air to avoid it.
"Torrent of Flame!" Van Bloot lunched a giant blast of fire at Xaerv who tried to escape but got caught in it's blast.
"Fireram!" Van Bloot shot a powerful blast of fire in the shape of a ram's head at Xaerv and coded him.
Back in the pub...
'This is tough, Ruby's holding her own but Nora's crazy ideas and unpredictable moves keep getting the drop on her.' Jekyll thought as he was now watching Khybon fight Ekuud in Castle Pillar.
"For your friend's sake I hope she wins." A feminine voice said, causing Jekyll to turn and frown at who it was. It was a girl with shoulder-length black hair with a single red strip in it, she had light skin and red eyes. She was wearing a black leather jacket, black jeans, a crimson under shirt and black boots.
"And why is that Mary?" Jekyll asked narrowing his eyes.
"Because it'd be embarrassing to lose to the Chaotic player with the most screws loose in their head." Mary mocked.
Jekyll growled a little. "I'm sorry, I seem to recall you and Nora once have a Chaotic match. Pardon me but, who won again?" He said, making Mary glare at him and turn away, making him smirk.
"Forget it, watching a match between two pathetic idiots is a waste of time anyways." She said as she walked away, making Jekyll roll his eyes.
'What a bitch.' He thought as turned back to the match to see they're both down to their last creature.
Ruby had spun the location randomizer.
"The next location is... Gothos Tower."
"Sweet, Van Bloot's home!" Ruby cheered.
"Lord Van Bloot attacks Hammerdoom!" Ruby said as they touched their screens and transformed. This time Nora transformed into a little grey goblin with a green cape, bronze chainmail, leather boots, green pants and green teeth. He also had a pair of goggles.
"Let's get chaotic!" They both said.
Hammerdoom was walking through what looked a dark gothic castle when suddenly he heard something falling and dove out of the way just in time to avoid getting stabbed by Van Bloot. Van Bloot was wielding none other than his own sickle, a wicked looking scythe with a skeletal design.
"Nice try, but your not getting the drop on me that easily." Hammerdoom said as he summoned his signature weapon, the Doomhammer, a powerful warhammer on fire that deals extra damage to UnderWorlders and Danians.
"Oh really?" Van Bloot said as he suddenly disappeared.
"Huh?" Hammerdoom said as Van Bloot suddenly appeared behind him and slashed him across the back.
"Ah!" Hammerdoom grunted in pain as Van Bloot reappeared once more and slashed him across the side.
"Argh, enough of this! Nora smash!" Hammerdoom slammed his hammer on the ground and created a large burst of flames that threw Van Bloot back.
"Spirit Gust!" Van Bloot sent forth a blast of spirits but Hammerdoom whacked them away with his hammer.
"My turn." Hammerdoom said as he made a Flame Orb and threw it up in the air before hitting it with his hammer like a baseball and sending it hurdling towards Van Bloot.
However Van Bloot sliced it in two with his scythe, surprising Hammerdoom.
"Skeletal Strike!" Suddenly a skeletal being with a similar skeletal structure to Van Bloot emerged from Van Bloot's body and charged at Hammerdoom, knocking him down.
"Fearocity!" Van Bloot summoned three black spirit-like heads that charge at Hammer doom but he just whacks them away with his hammer.
Hammerdoom then charged at Van Bloot with a mighty battle cry.
"Rock Wave!" Van Bloot then sent a wave of rocks towards Hammerdoom and sent him flying into a pillar.
Struggling, Hammerdoom used one last trick in the bag.
"Fortissimo!" He yelled as suddenly a bright golden light rain down on him as he began to grow. "Super size me!"
Van Bloot took a step back in awe and fear as the previously small Hammerdoom was now a giant who could barely fit in the castle.
Van Bloot tried to fly away but couldn't escape as Hammerdoom brought the hammer down and coded him.
"Winner: ThunderValkyrie."
Hammerdoom started cheering as he turned back into Nora while Ruby removed her scanner.
A few minutes later...
Ruby was sitting down slouched at a table with Jekyll.
"Come on Ruby, I know you're bummed, we all take our first lost pretty hard, but you can't let it keep you down." Jekyll tried to comfort.
"I know." She said.
They both notice Nora walking up to the table.
"Hey Nora." They both greeted.
"Hey guys!" She said happily. "I just wanted to say that was a great match! We definitely have to have a rematch!"
Ruby smiled. "Sure thing!" She said before smirking. "But next time I won't lose!"
"We'll see." Nora said with a cocky smile.
"Well, until the next time we have our match, wanna sit down with us?" Ruby offered.
"Sure!" Nora said as she took a sit.
After that they started talking about things in Chaotic as Ruby made a new friend.
Hey, if I made a reaction story to this story and maybe my other stories, would it be okay? Since they're not, you know, reacting to an official thing and it's my stories.
Also, next time I might try and show off Jekyll's playstyle and maybe add a new character to the group while I'm at it.
Edit: Ok since someone wants to know I'll just clear it up. This story takes place AFTER the show and they do not replace anyone from the show. As for if the main characters from the show appear, probably not, and if they do it won't be often. However I might try to add in some named side characters from the show like Lulu and Tartawrecker.
