-Doubt-
Link was sitting on a picnic bench. Food was presented to him. It was a good ol 'sandwich with chips. He looked to see who was sitting across. It was Zelda, but something was off. Her face continued to glitch out. "Zelda, are you okay, hun?" he asked.
"Yes I'm fine," the glitch stopped.
He knew he had something special with him today. He tapped his pocket to see if it was still there. Yes, he felt it. This is a perfect setting to ask the big question. Picnic on a nice sunny day with the love of his life. Nothing could ruin this moment for him.
"Hey Zelda, I need to ask you something," he reached for his pocket.
"Yes?" Her eyes were full of zeal.
He bent down on one knee. She gasped because she knew what he was going to ask. She has been longing for this for so long. She knew that Link is the only Prince for her. Every girl has always been jealous because her knight is the sexiest, bravest, and courageous man out there. He was all hers and nothing and no one could get in the way.
"Zelda, will you marry me?" He said, taking out a box with a diamond ring inside it.
"YES! I WILL MARRY YOU!" She squealed and took the ring.
The two hugged, but something felt strange. Zelda started to feel pain all over her body. What's going on? She felt like she was getting deleted! She screamed in agony as Link watched hopelessly.
Zelda had disappeared, the only thing that remained was the engagement ring that fell on the floor. His hands shook when he picked it up. Tears filled the hero's eyes. She's gone. The love of his life had disappeared right in front of him and he did nothing to help. He's the worst, how could he just let her go like that. He's all alone now.
The clouds blocked the sun and rain began to pour. This is what he deserves. He doesn't deserve an amazing woman like Zelda. He doesn't deserve anyone. He deserves to be alone forever. He sat there holding the ring tight with nothing but his tears to remind him what pain felt.
The rain pelted his back. They felt like bullets, but he didn't try to find cover. He deserved this. Fortunately for him, the rain seemed to stop. He opened his eyes and looked straight ahead of him. Zelda was still gone and it was still raining. Why didn't he feel the rain anymore? He looked up to check if the sun was still blocked, but what he saw was an umbrella protecting him from the rain. He looked behind him to see Kirby.
"Kirby?!"
"Hey, are you ok?" She gave him a worried look.
"What are you doing here?!"
"I'm on a walk. I love rainy days. The smell, the sound, the texture, it's beautiful!"
"B-beautiful?"
"I think so. I have to ask though, why are you crying?"
"Zelda disappeared right after I proposed."
Kirby kneeled down next to him and patted his back. She gave him a sincere warm smile. Her face looked angelic, that smile made him feel safe. He mustered a smile back.
"Hey, it'll be ok. Sometimes the timing can be too early."
"You think I proposed too early?"
"Maybe."
"She looked so happy when I did though."
"Hmm, maybe she felt that way for a second, but then she found out she wasn't ready."
"I wasn't the one for her…"
"You still can be. You never give up! You are courageous and fear no conflict. You are my hero and I know that she will see it eventually. Don't give up, Link!"
"I'm your hero?"
"You're everyone's hero, and you know what heroes do? They ask for help and guidance! Don't hesitate to ask me for help. I'll always be on your side, Link."
The emotions felt overwhelming. Zelda had just left, but he saw a new light. A new face of hope. Kirby was there by his side when he felt low. She protected him from the rain, and made him see the rain from a different perspective. She made sure he felt safe and didn't leave him to rot like Zelda. Kirby stayed when he was at his worst. Kirby is… She's…
Link's eyes shot open. His heart was racing and all he felt was sweat all over his body. He combed his bangs back with his hand.
He sat up and checked to see if Zelda was still in bed with him. She was still there sleeping peacefully. He felt happy that she was still there, but he didn't feel safe.
In his dream she left when things got too serious. He wondered if Zelda was temporary. He didn't want to think that, but he couldn't help it.
The dream wasn't a nightmare though. Kirby had come to save him from his darkest hour. He needed to see her. He felt guilty leaving Zelda all alone in his bed, but he couldn't sleep and he honestly didn't want to be around her. He needed some air. He needed to be alone. No not alone, he needed guidance. He needed to see Kirby.

-Boxer in love-
Little Mac took a quick late night shower. Showers were a must after a workout. He dried his body and hopped on his bed. He tried to sleep, but he couldn't get his mind off of that hot girl he met.
He put on some boxers, grabbed a cigarette, and went to his balcony. He sat down on a comfy chair. He stared at the moon. He couldn't believe he had a date tomorrow. The girl seemed so excited to be with him. He hasn't felt this happy since Samus.
Samus was Little Mac's ex. She was an awesome girl, but things didn't work out. She was taller than him, and a lot of people teased her for it. She eventually cracked into peer pressure and broke up with him. It was a shitty excuse and the way they separated left a nasty scar. He never wanted to get with another girl in the smash mansion.
He thought about settling down with a woman from his hometown. He needed someone normal, even though secretly he always wanted a strong partner who would spar with him. He always thought that maybe he should never find love again. That is until he met this girl. She was beautiful with a perfect hourglass shape, and with pink cotton candy hair. Not only that but she was smaller and interested in boxing. Boxing was his whole life, and the fact that she had so much fun boxing with him made him the happiest man.
Little Mac felt like crying. He never thought he would find the perfect girl, but he found her today. Before they began training, they went to an athletics clothing store in the smash mansion mall. He offered to pay, but she refused to let him. She paid for it herself, which means she's a genuine lady. She doesn't care about looks and money. She just wanted to spend time with him.
The pinkette looked amazing with her new athletic outfit. She wore a simple green tank top with black baggy sweatpants. The outfit defined her thick hips, but tiny stomach. She was so incredibly hot. He kept thinking about the training, when she would punch the punching bag and sweat would drop from her face. It was beyond hot. She looked so fierce like a wolf ready to pounce at her prey. She was learning quickly too! He could not wait to train with her again, but most importantly taking her out to dinner.
Dinner date! That's right! It's tomorrow. He needed to look and smell nice. He threw himself back inside his room and charged after his closet. He threw clothes all over the place.
He finally found his tux which had been buried. He never thought he would wear this again. He only wore it for Samus, but now this new girl brought back the tux. He scurried to the bathroom to look for cologne. Old spice always worked. He put the tux on and sprayed the cologne. He checked himself out in the mirror and he couldn't help but feel a tug at his lips. He looked hot! She will not be disappointed.

-Being human-
Kirby opened her door to see Link. "Link?! What're you doing here?" She widened her eyes.
He scratched the back of his head. "Can I come in?" he asked.
She motioned him to come inside. He awkwardly sat on her star cushion at the coffee table. She sat in front of him and gave him a concerned look. Is he alright? He's never visited her before. They were friends, but they weren't that close. Why would he visit now? Could it be that something awful happened? Then again why would he come to her for help? He had other friends that were closer to him. This whole situation is odd.
"Um, so…" Kirby trailed off. He's a difficult guy to read. He didn't talk much so she did not know how to deal with his presence.
"Kirby I… I'm sorry to intrude."
"It's ok."
"Well…" Link could feel his face getting hot. He needed to keep his cool. He has a girlfriend.
"I uh, I had a nightmare."
"Oh no! I'm so sorry. I know that nightmares are traumatizing. Did you want to talk about it?"
"Yes. I proposed to Zelda, but she left."
"Proposed? What is that?"
"O-oh! It's when you show your partner that you want to marry them."
"OH! That's right, you two are a power couple~"
"Y-yes. Well, I had a nightmare that she left me. I couldn't help but feel awful. However, you popped up in my dream and cheered me up. You really helped me…"
"I did? Wow, I never thought I would end up in your dream."
"Neither did I. I just wanted to thank you for turning my nightmare into a dream."
"I'm not sure what I said to you, but I will say now that you are one of the strongest foes I've ever fought. You never give up even when things start to look bad. Even when you lose fights you have a good spirit. Honestly, that's what makes you the best hero in the entire smash roster. You just need to make sure that Zelda also sees what a perfect hero you are. We all know you are, and she definitely sees it the most."
Link could not believe what Kirby just said. Since when did she become so good at therapy? She chose her words carefully and knew exactly what to say.
His heart fluttered when Kirby said he was a hero, but not just any hero. She said he was unique. Everyone just called him the hero of time, but Kirby said so much more than that. She meant when she called him a hero.
Zelda always called him her hero, but she never went into detail about it. It always felt the same when Zelda complimented him. Kirby seemed to really mean it. Her compliment felt genuine. This got him thinking… What if he fell for the wrong princess. What if his princess is standing right in front of him.
"Kirby I… What if Zelda isn't the one?"
"I promise you, Link, she is."
"Then why do I doubt her?"
"Well, maybe because you feel overwhelmed at the moment."
"No, I mean yes, but… I think I found someone else. I just feel bad about it."
"Link, don't feel bad for how you feel, just go with your heart."
Link wanted to grab Kirby and kiss her right there, but he restrained himself. This woman acted nothing like the puffball everyone knew. Was Kirby always like this? Was she secretly always a therapist? Is it because she was turned into a human that now she has the ability to comprehend human emotions?
All these questions, but at the end of the day this woman is still Kirby. She's still the innocent hungry puffball that everyone underestimates; especially when it comes to emotions and intelligence. No, this proves she is much more than that. She's a smart, kind-hearted woman, and he wanted her.
"Kirby I… I think I have feelings for you."
"L-Link?! What are you saying?"
"I… I think I have a crush on you."
Link could see the panic on Kirby's face. Has he gone too far? Was telling her the wrong move? He couldn't not tell her. He always stayed silent for most of his life. He didn't want Zelda to do all the talking for him anymore. He wanted to speak his own mind. He wanted to be free. Telling Kirby now might've not been the wisest choice, but he just had to. He wanted to let her know how he felt about her.
"Kirby, you are the kindest girl I've ever met. I can't stop thinking about you. You warm my heart. I'm sorry if this is a lot, but I just had to tell you."
"I… I uh, I mean… I'm not sure what's going on."
"I'm sorry, I know this is a lot."
"It's ok, Link. Thank you for complimenting me."
"Kirby, do you know what couples are?"
"I… I think so? It's when two people hang out a lot right? Super duper best friends. I really think that Zelda is your super best friend. She's always there when you're around, so she must be a special best friend. I'm not sure I fit in that criteria."
Oh my god, Kirby doesn't understand relationships! That makes sense. In her puffball form, she never talked about girls. Link had never seen Kirby in a relationship. Kirby is oblivious. All she used to care about is food. However, there's something different about her. In this new form, she seems to be learning more about what it's like to be human.
"Kirby, ever since Paluntena changed you, have you felt differently?"
"Y-yeah actually! A lot is different. Drinking water is a must now. I get full now, and I'm starting to understand more about how normal people feel. Not everything is about food! There's adrenaline and struggles! It's weird, but experiencing all this has been making me feel like I've been a total jerk in the past. Back then, I thought selfishly and didn't understand why people couldn't keep up when I left them behind, but I get it now!"
"Kirby, that's… amazing!"
"I understand you more, Link. I understand that people are complicated. I understand that you're troubled, and I just want to say thank you for being patient with me. I promise to be more understanding. I hope my guidance has helped you."
"It really did, Kirby. Anyway I should leave so you can sleep."
"I enjoyed talking with you, Link. Goodnight~"
Link left Kirby's room feeling honestly great. She's becoming more human. She's starting to think like a human. She really is amazing. Talking to her was the best thing he could have ever done. He learned more about her, and vice versa.
The more they talk, the more they'll get to understand each other more. She used to not understand feelings, and he used to repress them, but together as they continued to talk, he was sure that they would both become a normal human.
They needed each other. He also struggled with what it felt like to be a human being, but with Kirby's help, they can learn together. He needed to be patient with her. He needed to tell Zelda that he wanted to take a break. He wanted to find a connection, not just some princess he saved because he had to. He wanted to start over. He wanted to talk freely without feeling scared. He wanted true love, and Kirby was the only one who understood this pain of wanting to be a person.

-Boxer in love-
Little Mac started the timer. "Alright girl, I want to see you surpass your last time!" Kirby began punching and kicking the sand bag.
"Hey girly, what's up with the kicks?" He stopped the timer.
"I was thinkin' about trying out some kickboxing," she beamed.
"Hmm, I mean sure I guess," He started the timer again. The two trained for a couple hours, by the end of it, Kirby ran to the water fountain and drank.
"Alright girly, you want to keep going or do ya want some food?" Little Mac suggested.
"FOOD!"
"Haha! Alright I'll need to take a shower and change. I'd reckon you do the same."
"O-oh yeah ok! I'll see you later then."
"I'll knock on your door when I'm done."
"Okay! I'll leave it unlocked!"
"Oh also, what's your name, girly?"
"Oh I tried to tell you earlier, but you didn't seem to believe me."
"Go on, tell me again."
"I'm Kirby."
"Huh, him again?"
"Little Mac, I'm Kirby."
"Oh, so your name's Kirby, huh. I know a pink puffball that has that name too."
"No I don't think you understand-
"Well, anyway, I'll see you tonight, Kirby."
"Wait, I don't-
Little Mac was too excited to hear her last sentence. He rushed out the door to get rid of his musk. He wanted to be perfect for tonight's dinner. He needed to impress this new Kirby girl. Huh, weird how the ball and this hot chick had the same name. Kirby is a unisex name, right? It must be common. Oh well, who cares! He's got a hot date tonight and-
WHAM!
He crashed onto someone and fell on the floor. He shook the pain off and stood up. "S-sorry," he extended his hand out to a blonde woman. She slapped his hand away and glared at him.
"I don't need your help."
His heart sank. It was none other than Samus Aran herself.
