Chapter 47

***Elizabeth's House***

(Elizabeth got woken up to breakfast in bed from Jason this morning even though he slept on the couch. She was pleasantly surprised)

Liz: (smiles) "This is definitely a nice surprise. I don't expect it, though. What's the occasion?"

Jason: "I know you don't expect it. I WANTED to do it. I love you and I cherish you. In about a week and a half, you will be officially divorced from Franco. You and I can officially become a couple. I have wanted that for a long time."

Liz: (nods) "I have wanted that, too. I can't wait."

(Jason hands her a small Tiffany box, causing her to look at it weirdly)

Liz: "What's this?"

Jason: (chuckles) "Open it."

Liz: "I hope you know that I don't need anything from you, babe. I have your love and commitment. That's all I could ever ask for."

Jason: "I want to give you more as you deserve the world. I have been wanting to give it to you for a while, but now just seemed like the perfect time."

(Elizabeth had tears in her eyes at the grand gesture. She opened the Tiffany box and the tears fell down her cheeks at what she saw. Jason observed her and smiled a bit)

Jason: "I take it you like it?"

(As Elizabeth continues to admire the piece of jewelry, she speaks)

Liz: "That's one word for it. I love it."

(It was a gold chained necklace that had 'J & E: Forever' inscribed on it. She looked up at her best friend as well as love of her life)

Liz: "I couldn't ask for a better gift from you, Jason."

(She rests her hand on his cheek and smiles)

Liz: "I love it and I love you."

Jason: "I love you more. Just to let you know that once you're officially divorced and we've been together a bit…and of course the boys are okay with it…I plan on asking you to marry me. I want their blessing and make sure everyone's happy."

(Elizabeth can't stop the grin from showing as she spoke)

Liz: "I can't wait. We've come a long way, haven't we, Morgan?"

Jason: "Yes, we have. I love you and no one else. No matter what happens in life, I'm always here. You're my soulmate Elizabeth Imogene Baldwin, soon to be Webber. You have my heart." (smiles) "I hope the boys approve because I can't wait to marry you and make us all a family."

(Elizabeth and Jason embrace, feeling the other's warmth before breaking apart)

Jason: "I hope you will love Danny as your own if the situation ever calls for it in the future because it's clear Sam doesn't truly care for Danny." (scoffs) "Sam may have wanted Danny years ago. She sure as hell doesn't seem to want him now."

(Elizabeth sighs deeply before speaking)

Liz: "It is sad Sam doesn't seem to truly care about Danny. I honestly thought she did years ago, but that was then. As for MY feelings for Danny? No, he may not be mine biologically." (smiles) "But, I do love him like he is my own. He's kind and loves his brothers. Yes, they may not be blood related. But I don't care and I know they don't care, either. I told Danny he's my buddy and I meant it. He's a good kid." (raises her eyebrows) "However, I do feel that Franco has a right to know that Danny is his son. Will he be shocked as hell to know Danny is his son?" (nods) "Yes. But, he should know."

Jason: "As much as I hate the asshole, I see your point. Franco has a right to know Danny." (scoffs lightly) "I wish Sam would tell me the truth about her past with Franco."

Liz: (shrugs) "Maybe Franco will. Yes, he can be an ass when he wants to be. He can be nice, too." (tilts her head) "Should we give it a try and talk to Franco about Sam's lies? That he's really the father of Danny?"

Jason: (nods) "Yes. I agree. I honestly thought Sam would've come to her senses by now and told him on her own. It's clear she won't or is stalling. So, we'll have to. Whenever she chooses will be too late."

Liz: "It will be on Sam and Sam only when the truth comes out."

Jason: "I agree." (smirks) "Better eat your breakfast before it gets cold."

Liz: (chuckles) "Yes, sir."

***Hour or So Later***

(Jason's cell phone rings. He picks it up)

Jason: "Morgan."

Sam: "It's Sam."

(Jason doesn't even bother hiding the fact that he can't stand the bitch)

Jason: "What do you want?"

Sam: "I'm calling to schedule a playdate with Danny and Lizzie's kids at Monica's for Friday evening."

(Jason is surprised. Since when did Sam call to schedule playdates when she usually refuses to let Danny spend time with 'Lizzie's' kids? Jason didn't understand)

Jason: (confused) "Come again?"

Sam: (slightly chuckles) "I take it you're caught off-guard?"

Jason: "Uh, yeah. That's one way to put it. What's the catch because you're the one who always pulls back whenever Elizabeth and I try planning a day or night?"

Sam: "There's no catch this time. I guess you could say I'm trying to redeem myself. I'm trying to be better."

Jason: "I don't believe that for a second. But, I do know the boys will want to see each other. So, when should we schedule the playdate?"

Sam: "How about this Friday afternoon?"

Jason: "What's the occasion?"

Sam: (sighs) "Jason, I'm trying to meet you halfway here."

Jason: "Even though I don't believe it for a second, I know Danny will want to see Cameron, Jake, and Aiden and vice versa. I miss Danny, too. So does Elizabeth."

(Sam ignores that last comment about 'Lizzie' as she still couldn't stand the woman)

Sam: "I will drop off Danny at Monica's at suppertime so you all can have time together."

Jason: "Okay."

(It was Wednesday, so in two days, Sam would have her little rendezvous with Cyrus. While she didn't love him or hate him, she didn't mind him as long as they helped each other. Sleeping with him was the least she could do after what he was going to do to help her. Sam had to admit that she was a little lonely for company since Jason left her for the little muffin. So, she was a tad bit looking forward to spending the night with Cyrus. If she couldn't have Jason, what the hell? Cyrus would do. For now, anyway)

***A Few Hours Later***

(Elizabeth is at work. Cameron, Jake, and Aiden are in school. Jason is at Sonny and Carly's place as he needed to vent)

Jason: "Guess what Sam actually suggested?"

(Carly points at her best friend)

Carly: "To leave and never come back, leaving Danny to you and Elizabeth?"

Jason: (weird face) "No. She actually approached me over the phone about setting up a playdate. I, of course, immediately suspected something was up. Sam never does anything out of the kindness of her heart."

Carly: "No, she doesn't. I don't blame you for thinking the worst as I suspect it, too. I think Sam has a hidden agenda. I just don't know what it is."

Jason: "I don't know what it could be."

Carly: "I think that Sam is trying to get rid of Elizabeth. I just can't prove it. Sam denied it, of course. But I know a schemer when I see one."

Sonny: (smirks) "Are you speaking from experience, babe?"

Carly: (proudly smiles) "You bet. Ugh! I wish I knew what that little Viper was planning! I'd put a stop to it in a heartbeat!"

Sonny: (nods) "Jason, do you think Sam is really planning something against Elizabeth?"

Jason: "With the way Sam's mind works, I wouldn't put it past her. Sam threatens Elizabeth all the time."

Carly: "I know Sam wants you back. I warned her it'd never happen as you love Elizabeth. Sam made it sound like you'd come crawling back to her even though I told her it wouldn't happen."

(Jason clears his throat and crosses his arms over his chest as he spoke to change the subject)

Jason: "I wanted to tell you two about a present I got for Elizabeth."

(Carly gasps in shock, her eyes widen and briefly covers her mouth with her hands before she jumped up for joy)

Carly: "Oh, my, God! You gave her an engagement ring! You proposed!"

Jason: (weird face) "What? No. At least, not yet."

(Carly puts her hands to her sides)

Carly: "Then what was the gift?"

Jason: "I bought her a gold chained necklace that had 'J & E: Forever' inscribed on it."

(Carly looks like she wanted to cry)

Carly: "Ohh! That sounds so beautiful! I'll bet she loved it."

Jason: "She thought it was an engagement ring, too, as it was in a Tiffany box. I told her I won't officially ask her to marry me until she's finally divorced from Baldwin and the boys approve of it, give me their blessing."

Sonny: (smiles) "Of course, they'll give you their blessing. Because they love you and want you two together for good."

Jason: "I don't want to rush things with the boys and Elizabeth. Even though if I had it my way, by now, Elizabeth and I would already be married. I want to enjoy our happiness."

Carly: (smiles) "I'm so glad to see you happy at last. You'll be even happier when you, Elizabeth, and the boys are officially a family."

Jason: (smiles a bit) "I can't wait."
