"I'm going to miss this sense of smell."

"And is that the only thing you're going to miss about having a body?"

"I'll also miss the sense of touch, I imagine. I experience varying levels of sensation as a skeleton, but it's all a crude substitute for the real thing." His head tilted. "Human contact."

"What about it?"

"It's different when you have flesh and blood. It's better." Skulduggery looked at Valkyrie and gave her a smile before he turned his attention back to the wall in front of them. "Ah, here we go." He pressed his hand to a slight groove in the wall and a section of the wall slid open. Skulduggery took a step forward but stopped when Valkyrie put her hand on his arm.

"Skulduggery, wait."

Skulduggery turned his head towards his partner with a raised eyebrow. "What's wrong, Valkyrie?"

"Well… the thing you just said about human contact, that it's better as a human?"

"Yes?"

"I…" Valkyrie felt her cheeks turning warm and knew she was blushing, but she couldn't back out now. Skulduggery now knew that she wanted to tell him something and she wouldn't here the end of it unless she said what she wanted to say.

"Why are you blushing?" Skulduggery asked and tilted his head again, now with a smile on his face. "Thinking naughty things now again?"

"Shut up!" Valkyrie answered and looked away before taking a deep breath. It was now or never. She wouldn't get another chance.

Skulduggery laughed and laid his arms around Valkyrie in a hug. "You know that whatever you want to say, you can say it. I won't judge."

Valkyrie hugged Skulduggery back and closed her eyes for a few seconds before she took a step back without releasing her hold on Skulduggery. "I want to try something. Since the world might end and all that. I won't be able to try this again, or at least there's a big chance that I won't be able to."

Skulduggery raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything. Valkyrie leaned forward and let her lips press gently against Skulduggerys human ones in a small kiss. Skulduggery's eyebrows went up in a surprised expression and he stood absolutely still. Valkyrie broke off the kiss and took a step backwards while letting go of Skulduggery.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have…" she began, but got interrupted by Skulduggery who laid his hand on her chin and forced her to look into his eyes.

"You have nothing to be sorry about," he said and kissed Valkyrie while simultaneously laying his arms around her and pressing her towards his body.

Valkyrie couldn't help but smile while they kissed. Even though she knew that Skulduggery hadn't been able to kiss another woman since the day he had come back as a skeleton, she had to admit that he was really good at kissing. But then Skulduggery was a man with many talents, and she probably shouldn't be surprised that kissing was one of those talents.

Skulduggery let his tongue glide across Valkyries lower lip, and she opened her mouth for him. The feeling that washed over her when Skulduggerys tongue met her own made her utter a low moan and she could feel Skulduggerys smile against her lips, which made her give him a slap on his arm.

Skulduggery broke off the kiss and looked at her with a surprised face. "Why did you hit me?"

"Because I can. And, because I hate the fact that I know you were smiling because you knew what I was thinking about based on my moan."

"Which was?" Skulduggery asked with a smug voice.

Valkyrie slapped him again and Skulduggery took a hold of her hand before pushing her hard against his muscular chest. Valkyrie couldn't help but moan again and reflexively pushed herself closer to Skulduggerys body, which in turn only made Skulduggery smile even bigger. He leaned so close that she could feel his breath against her lips.

"Will you tell me what you were thinking about or should I?"

"You are a good kisser, an incredibly good kisser, and I enjoyed the feeling of your lips and tongue against my own. Happy now? Have I rubbed your ego enough for today or shall I continue?"

Skulduggery guided Valkyries hand, which he still had a hold of, towards his chest and Valkyrie understood what he wanted her to do. She started to stroke his chest slowly and she could both feel and see how Skulduggery shivered from her touch. She let her lips find Skulduggerys throat and started to kiss his Adam's apple before continuing backwards towards his neck and up to his ear.

"Valkyrie…" Skulduggery whispered with a hoarse voice and started to stroke Valkyrie's upper body with his hands, which in turn made Valkyrie shiver as well.

"Skulduggery… Do you know how many times I've fantasized about this…? Of feeling you explore my body, of hearing you whisper my name in ecstasy…"

"I know you have… Don't you think I've seen the gazes you give me when you think I don't notice? The way you press yourself against me when we hug or fly." Skulduggery pressed his lips against Valkyrie in another passionate kiss before letting his hand stop at one of her breasts. He started to stroke it slowly and got a loud moan from Valkyrie in response.

"Yes…" she moaned in between one of their kisses. "More…"

Skulduggery laughed low and let his hand travel under Valkyries shirt upwards until he found her bra. He let his hand slide under the fabric and grabbed a hold of her nipple which he twisted between his fingers.

"Oh god…!" Valkyrie said with a gasp and started to shiver. "Skulduggery…"

Skulduggery was just about to respond when a familiar voice behind them asked: "What are you two doing?!"

Valkyrie opened her eyes while Skulduggery turned his head to look at the person standing in front of them and that had just walked out from the secret passage Skulduggery had opened a few minutes before. In front of them stood the Administrator of the high Sanctuary, Cerise, with gaping mouth and big eyes.

Skulduggery smiled. "Valkyrie is just relearning me of the fine art of kissing."

At the end of the latest book "Until the End" Skulduggery has borrowed a human body since his skeleton has been taken from him, and he talks about that he will miss human touch. And since I am a HUGE ValDuggery fan, I just had to write a little piece of them kissing (and a little more) while Skulduggery still can experience human touch. Hope you guys liked this!
