Beginning AN: This is the final chapter of the Banjo-Kazooie Arc so next up is the Harry Potter Year 1 Arc. read and review but flame reviews will be ignored. on with the story.
Chapter 27: Banjo-Kazooie Arc Finale
"Ooh that Kazooie." Tooty grumbled. "You're not as bad as I thought, but choosing birdseed over me."
"Don't worry." Grunty said. "You can be my apprentice. I'll teach you everything I Know. Besides you're too cute. I can't help but want to keep you."
"Thanks." Tooty said blushing before they heard voices.
"What the." Grunty said turning around as Banjo and Kazooie shot up to the tower. "No fair you chose the birdseed. Tooty stays with me."
"Kazooie doesn't choose for me." Banjo said. "And I choose Tooty."
"I don't think so," Grunty said, before mumbling to herself where only Tooty could hear "I need to shield Tooty from the battle. And I'll need to use stun spells so they don't die. Tooty would never forgive me if I let them die."
With that Tooty was encased in an energy shield and floated into the sky out of the way as the battle began.
First Grunty used her broom to try to scare them into stopping only for them to dodge and unknown to her Mumbo make the broom stall so Banjo Kazooie could use a Ratatat tap. Grunty then used a stun spell they dodged before trying again three more times with the same result.
Grunty then used a homing stun spell only for Banjo and Kazooie to use wonder wing to block it. She then flew off the edge and used several stun spells only for them to miss and Kazooie shot her with three eggs causing her to move to another spot and repeat. After the fourth time she took off into the air to be too high for them only for Bottles to give Banjo and Kazooie a flight pad letting them take off into the air. Grunty made a magic safety net appear below and started casting stun spells only for banjo and Kazooie to dodge them and hit her with beak bomb 4 times, causing her to create a magic force field around herself and continue shooting stun spells.
Meanwhile down below Jinjo statues appeared and Banjo and Kazooie landed and activated the statues with eggs while dodging the stun spells first green, then pink, then yellow, and finally orange with them shooting into the air and hitting her through the force field destroying her broomstick and making her land on the castle wall before stumbling as a giant Jinjo statue showed up.
"I am the mighty Jinjonator. Activate me." The statue said. Banjo and Kazooie did so by using three eggs in the holes on all four sides causing it to raise into the air making Grunty scared only for that to shift to horrified when she realized it was tracking her magic, and the force field around Tooty was stronger then the one around her, making it go after Tooty thinking she was Grunty.
"AHHH!" Tooty yelled in fear as it approached.
"TOOTY!" Banjo and Kazooie yelled in fear.
"NO!" Grunty yelled as she jumped between them and created a powerful shield powered by desperation to protect Tooty.
She managed it but passed out from exhaustion afterwards making the force field around Tooty fail as well and they both fell, only for Tooty to grab on and use her magic to wrap them in a force field by copying what Grunty did for her, the two of them landing on the ground and the force field making them bounce all the way back to Banjo and Kazooie up top where they passed out in front of Banjo and Kazooie.
Banjo says "thank goodness that was too close for comfort."
Kazooie looks at the Jinjonator who was about to leave and says "what were you thinking you idiot you could have killed my best friend's sister?"
the Jinjonator answers with "I was tracking the magic of your opponent but how was I supposed to know she was using a weaker shield and expending her magic reserves trying to protect the kid?"
Banjo says "how would your divine peers have reacted if Tooty died due to your mistake?"
the Jinjonator pales and says "they would have stripped me of my divine status."
while they were talking Gruntilda and Tooty wake up with Gruntilda feeling drained from having to use so much power to both fight Banjo & Kazooie and protect Tooty at the same time.
Tooty says "well consider yourself lucky." and continues with "considering I've got a photographic memory I was able to save both myself and Gruntilda using the shield spell she was using to keep me from being caught in the crossfire."
Gruntilda says "well done Tooty it took me a month to get that down to where I could use it in battle."
before the Jinjonator could even think of delivering the final blow to Gruntilda she says "I wouldn't do what you're thinking to do. the fight was more of a spar since I was trying to protect my apprentice while fighting your summoners at the same time."
Banjo, Kazooie and the Jinjonator went wide eyed and asked at the same time "are you meaning to tell me you were holding back the whole time?"
Gruntilda says "of course. I may have a cruel streak but I'm not so evil as to allow a child to die by being caught in the crossfire of a fight."
and upon saying that the Shinto and Greek gods appear and Athena says "by saying what you just did I'm going to give you what you wanted from Tooty."
Athena uses her power to make Gruntilda lose a lot of weight until she looks like what she does when you quit playing the game before rescuing Tooty.
Gruntilda says "thank you Athena Goddess of War and Knowledge I Gruntilda swear on my life and magic that I won't take this gift for granted so mote it be."
Athena says "so mote it be." and the oath is enforced. Gruntilda and Tooty don't do anything to make Athena change her mind knowing what she did to Medusa in a fit of rage.
the Shinto and Greek gods return to their divine realms and Banjo says "while it may take a while to gain my trust and Kazooie's trust I thank you for trying to keep my sister out of the crossfire of our fight."
Gruntilda says "you're welcome. the reason I was holding back is because Tooty would never forgive me if I killed you."
Kazooie says "so the squirt has been a great influence on you Grunty."
Gruntilda says "yes she has but I have a feeling our adventures have only just begun."
Gruntilda and Tooty summon Amaterasu and Artemis and have Banjo & Kazooie grab on to Gruntilda's shoulder while Tooty gets on Amaterasu's back. Gruntilda has Artemis fire travel to Banjo's house while Amaterasu flies down to Banjo's house and they all go inside to relax and unwind.
Ending AN: that's the chapter. I was thinking of having Gruntilda earn her Banjo-Kazooie Game Over screen appearance the old fashioned way of dieting and exercise but I figured why wait when she could do that to maintain her newfound beauty.
