Diagon Alley
(Before this chapter, I want to give a notice: please don't be impatient, some kids will be transforming into their kaiju forms in First Year! Also, chapters will be getting more interesting soon. Updates at least every other day and at most a week!)
"That. Is. Just. Wicked." Spacey breathed.
In front of him was Flourish and Blotts, the store in which the children's books are to be bought. Also in front of him was what clearly is an assistant of the store owner, wrestling a tall blond boy out of the double-doors.
The blondie hauled two other kids to him just as he was pushed out, and soon all three were standing outside the book shop.
"Ichi what the heck was that!" The medium-height boy raged. "You know the rules, why did you break them!"
"Rules? RULES? YOU were the one that suggested to BREAK them!" The one that must be Ichi retorted. "Stop blaming it all on ME, Ni! I'm half a school year older than you!"
The third member of their group, short and scrawny, had fallen backwards onto the ground and was crying his head off. As if this had triggered Ichi and Ni, they were soon kicking at him, shouting at him to get up.
Spacey turned to face Goji. Hoping for some witty quip from his cousin, goji opened his mouth to ask, but mad a gasp of confusion and shock as he laid eyes on Spacey's expression.
It was a chilling look of hunger.
Goji heard screaming. He looked around, and found nothing. Nobody. The screams kept getting louder until he realized they were in fact coming from inside his head. Black spots were starting to appear around his vision, surrounding, swirling, gripping. A wave of nausea bashed into him like a tide, and then…
"He's up! He's alright!" Biollante resumed her position standing upright. It seemed she had just bent over to slap Goji awake.
"What...the...just happened?" Goji shook his head.
Spacey was standing far away from him now. Narrowing his eyes.
"Must be the heat. Look at 'im. Pure-bloods who never go outdoors."
Goji spun around, startled, to find himself facing at least a dozen other kids, some without their parents.
"Uhh...I'm the one who spoke, in case you haven't already noticed." The freckled red-head closest to Goji said, awkwardly. "Name's Rodey, by the way. Rodey, Rodan, whatever. Call me anything. Anyway, the muggle-born-on-fire, at your service!"
"He's...referring to himself." A pretty, short girl with shoulder-length mousy hair said.
Goji huffed and pushed himself off the ground.
"I'm Mosura. Of the Featherdew family." She introduced herself to Goji. "You may have heard of me, what with my family's help in the Vold Wars."
"Featherdew? Oh, yeah. Rivals." Goji spat.
Clearly shocked, Mosura took a step back.
"Don't speak to me like that, or you'll be sorry, you…" Mosura began.
"What?" Goji retorted.
"Lizard."
A gasp from the crowd.
Some disgruntled parents started leading their children away from the bickering pair.
Mosura looked genuinely terrified. "Oh no...I'm so sorry...I shouldn't have insulted you like that!" She whimpered before dashing away.
A boy with jet back hair and visually resembling Mosura gave Goji a cold, menacing glare, wordlessly saying "what the heck was that for?" before sprinting off to her.
It took a while for the quietness to metamorphosize into chatter.
"Welp, guess that was that." Rodey quipped. "Hey, we aren't friends yet, wanna be friends?"
"Oh sure, yeah, whatever." Goji replied absent-mindedly.
"The Ghidorahs are resuming their argument, by the way."
"I don't care."
"Not until they drag you into it. Hey, wanna meet Anguirius? He's my good pal, we met just ten minutes ago."
"Angui-"
Goji was knocked over mid-sentence by something dense. It pinned him onto the ground and rapidly gained the upper hand. Goji forced his hips up and kicked at his attacker, bowling the guy over. As he did so, Goji caught a glimpse of what he looked like.
Tough, sturdy, sandy hair and slightly tanned skin. Brown eyes. Large canines that resemble fangs, much like his own, but grown outwards.
"Uhh Angy you sure that's the right way to greet someone you've never met before?" Rodey tempted from the side-lines.
So this must be Anguirius. Goji thought.
Anguirius punched Goji and leapt upright, slamming his body weight onto Goji's. But this time, Goji isn't going to let his adversary push him onto the ground. He grabbed Angy's shoulders and put force onto the attacker. This way, both boys are now locked in a position where any move will result in a casualty.
Goji growled, a sound he never made before.
And, the sound surprised him. He never knew he could create such beastly noises.
I guess in the heat of combat, your wild side just comes out.
Suddenly, Anguirius ducked and sweeped his leg behind Goji's shins.
Instantly knocked over, Goji found himself on the ground with a smug-looking Anguirius smirking down at him.
Rodey was gaping a few meters away, even further away than the accumulated crowd around them.
Then comes the splitting headache.
But Goji didn't care. He lunged for Anguirius and took hold again.
This time, he wasn't going to let the boy flee.
And thus Goji lost all consequence as he brought his canines onto Anguirius neck-
"That is enough!" A shriek from behind.
Goji whipped around before getting hauled off of Anguirius' body.
He went off balance for a few seconds before regaining full notion.
And discovering the person that had saved Anguirius is in fact, Mosura.
Mosura, pointing her wand at Goji's neck.
The group of children filed into Ollivander's.
At the front was Goji, raising his hands above his head in mock surrender. A storm cloud hung over him, letting loose a rainstorm over his clothes. Even that couldn't hide his aggro.
At the back was Mosura and her little brother Batora, armed with their wands.
The owner, Garrick Ollivander, peered from behind his mug of chocoffee (the wizarding equivalence of coffee) and Daily Prophet.
"Well, what have we got here?" He inquired, raising a bushy white eyebrow. "Mosura, what in the world did you come back for?"
"These kids." The girl answered through gritted teeth. "Are not behaving. I came in to surveillance them so they would not get into trouble with their wands."
The "kids" she was referring to were none other than the ones that stirred up a ruckus in Diagon Alley a good few minutes ago.
Ollivander relaxedly stacked a large pile of parchment atop the counter. "Then let's begin, shall we, Miss Featherdew?"
Mosura nodded Anguirius forward toward the old man. A few seconds later, Rodey tipped his head to one side, whistling a medieval tune. Quite obviously, his actions were suggesting attempt to sneak away without his captor noticing.
Fool, trying to get past me. Mosura swung her wand in front of the escapist, glaring at him.
Seeing his trial fail, Rodey backed away and vanished into the two people behind him.
Meanwhile, Anguirius was holding a wand to the light.
"This doesn't seem to be responding. Let's try another one." Anguirius said patiently, which, to Goji, was annoyingly aggravating.
"How about this...unicorn hair, 12 inch wand?" Ollivander held up yet another smart, rectangular box.
Anguirius took it with both hands and took the wand out. It was all smooth sans the handle, which was decorated in swirls and ended in a majestic dragon head. There was also a transparent marble held between the dragon's jaws, and its forked tongue curled halfway around the circular object.
The wand, now firmly in Anguirius' grip, was reacting rather patiently. Golden bands of light wavered from the wand tip and flowed like a breeze around its owner's body.
"I think it's calling for me. Thank you, sir." Anguirius bowed and turned around on his heel, starting for the door.
As he passed Goji, Anguirius whispered in his ear.
"I didn't mean it. The fight."
Goji silently nodded his forgiveness, to that he earned himself another message exchanged in secret via the whisper express.
"I see an ally in you."
Goji swung around to retort at being referred to as an "ally" by someone else. Clearly, he was the boss who claims friends!
But Anguirius had already gone too far away, in his hand what could only be assumed as a bag of Floo powder.
Goji sighed as the boy disappeared onto the street.
Rodey and Ollivander's mingled voices in the background suggested an accident with the bookshelf and the counter. Batora was checking a non-existant watch on his wrist and groaning inwardly. Mosura was glowering at him with contempt one second and waving feverishly at a friend outside the window the next.
This day sure had an interesting turn. Goji thought as he was about to receive his own wand. I wonder what will it be like in Hogwarts.
