Talisman

Name meaning ~ "he who tells no good tails"

Age before being turned: 32 Years Old

Age since being turned: 41 Year

Abilities - The ability to sense future danger/conflict. He has a hard time convincing Claudad at first, as his talent expands and he senses paths of danger, as she believed he was trying to keep her from doing what she wanted when she wanted to do it. Rayland stood by his friend however, which only added to her confidence as she tried to prove that Talisman was merely a control freak. It didn't take long for Claudad to run into trouble after pursuing a human who Talisman warned was bad news. This "human" ended up being a true werewolf and thankfully for Claudads sake Talisman and Rayland were able to save Claudad and she never again questioned his "premeditated worrying".

Traits

Hair - Coarse black hair often worn in long cornrows that reach the center of his backs. He enjoys decorating his hair with gold clasp.

Eyes - Bright red or Crimson red when hungry.

Height - 5 feet and 10 inches

Skin - Translucent dark black.

Appearance - Talisman is a muscular man almost too muscular for his height and wears the latest in men's fashion. Even when hunting he wants to look presentable which renders him the most graceful hunter as he refuses to get blood on any of his beautiful clothing.

Backstory

Talisman tiptoed through life after being rejected by his family for being queer. To avoid conflict from the outside world as well, he often opted out of anything involving large groups of people and in doing so lost a lot of friends as they began to outgrow his constant desire to not do anything dangerous or exciting. By middle school he was completely alone at school but at home he was entrusted with his newborn nephew as a babysitter after school. His teenage sisters had no one else who would watch her infant for free all night and allowed him to watch her son under the conditions that he "didn't make the baby gay too". Talisman found a love for caring for children as his nephew felt completely safe with him and clearly loved him the way he hoped his future son would love him, unconditionally. Once he graduated highschool he immediately decided to go to school to study for an adolescent teaching degree which was the only thing he truly felt passionate about pursuing, he also decided to take classes in occupational therapy as a failsafe but never finished his proper certification.

Talisman easily found a hiring position for a first grade teacher and worked as a teacher from the time he was 23. At the age of 30 he was unlawfully terminated from his position after a parent discovered that he was a homosexual as she was furious it had not been disclosed to his classroom's parents. At the time Talisman had strangely been having his class practice fire drills once a day insisting that his student follow his instruction to a T because he felt an unsettling sensation that a bad situation was going to occur soon which would lead to the death of children, though he knew better then to disclose that to anyone. The school used his strange new habits as a reason to fire him, citing that he was scaring the children and their families. Once he was fired, without proper warning mind you, they then decided to ban Talisman from school grounds. Which broke his heart as he loved his children and was only trying to protect them.

A week later the school was set on fire accidentally when the school kitchen burst into flames due to an old broken set of ovens. 17 elementary students who where having there lunch time died and even though his classroom was closeted to the cafeteria all of his students, who were thankfully having lunch in their classroom as they were meeting their new substitute that day, remembered their beloved teachers fire drills and followed them to a T; going completely against their substitute teacher's order, which undoubtedly saved all of their lives.

The parents of his students and his students sent letter after letter after their sons and daughters told them about how the preparation from Mr.T, for fire safety, saved their lives. The husband of the young girl, whose mother got Talisman fired in the first place, was the head doctor at the recovery facility where Rayland was staying and was the person who offered him the position knowing how much his daughter idolized her teacher. The Doctor had felt extremely guilty for paying off the school to terminate Talisman and hoped this would right his wrong, praying Talisman could find comfort in knowing that even if he couldn't be a teacher anymore he could still be a positive influence in the lives of children and practice keeping them safe from harm and he was right. Talisman was nervous at first but felt an incredible sense of freedom when accepted by his patient, Rayland, for what he was

Talisman adjudged quickly to Vampire life, even quicker than Rayland who was six months his elder now. He enjoyed his allowance from Claudad and became indispensable once his "premeditated worrying", a term coined by Claudad originally as a dig, was recognized as a helpful talent for his coven's survival. Eventually Claudad trusted him more than herself to control the household hold funds and gave him access to accounts that she didn't even trust her own son with and let him be the family accountant. Talisman took the job very seriously and tripled their wealth after the first 10 years impressing Claudad and softening her towards him though she never fully liked him as he too seemed to be unable to be affected by her "hypnotic seduction".

Though he was satisfied with his small coven, Talisman always hoped to find a mate but did not pursue humans as he, much like Raymond, only saw them as a necessary food supply. When Claudad suggested he try to meet more Vampiric men, he simply told her he never felt safe around any other Vampires outside of his coven mates , especially men. Which shook Claudad and stopped her from seeking the company of Vampiric men. When Natlia entered the family he was immediately against it but decided to not pursue pushing her out as he saw how much it hurt Rayland when he spoke on how she would one day lead to the distraction of their entire family. When he finally did find a mate, Jathe, he became more enjoyable to the coven as his worries about Natlia seemed to dissipate quickly as the two spent more and more time together.

Note: Talisman once equipped with the correct funds left his beloved nephew a large fortune so he could always do whatever he wanted in life, he made it a point to tell his nephew in person that he had found a new life and that he was happy but had to go away for a long time. He wanted to make sure his only family member who cared for him unconditionally was cared for for the remainder of his life. Talisman was thrilled to find out his nephew had wedding plans with the man of his dreams and covered the entire wedding bill as a gift. He naturally lost connection overtime but never let go of his love for his nephew who he considered his first child.
