Chapter Five – Montez Star
Malibu Beach, California
As the other members of BAE chased after Big E, including Bayley who was desperate to get him back under the Cloak of Invisibility, Montez Ford decided to find Rhea and let her know what was going on. Rhea took Perfection and Havana back to Malibu Beach which irked 'Tez because he really didn't want the two little girls spending so much time with Rhea Ripley anymore. It was becoming clear that they were getting more and more fond of her but not for the right reasons. What 'Tez was about to realise was that Perfection and Havana were not the only ones becoming fond of his former lover, as a line stretching back for almost a mile formed outside a beautiful church made entirely out of sand.
While the rest of BAE were running after Big E, Montez Ford lowered his sunglasses and looked at the people that didn't seem to be online for Wrestlemania tickets. He was sure they were there to see Rhea Ripley, finding out somehow that she was spending time in Malibu. These people didn't look like wrestling fans though, they looked more like Christians on a Sunday morning.
"What is this all about?" he wondered as he headed down to the people waiting outside the church made out of sand. "Excuse me, I'm Montez "Big Money" Ford, are ya'll here to see Rhea Ripley?"
"No, we don't watch professional wrestling," one of the people replied and a mother turned to face 'Tez with her two children.
"We're here to see Gloria," she said and 'Tez rubbed his chin curiously.
"Gloria, who is that?" he asked.
"Wait with us and you'll find out," one of the people replied and 'Tez cut to the chase and pulled out his phone and showed them a picture of Rhea Ripley.
"Is this Gloria?" he asked the people.
"That's her alright!" the man replied and a loud "Gloria!" chant rang out much to the bemusement of Montez Ford and the amusement of Rhea Ripley who was inside the church with Perfection and Havana laughing at what was going on outside.
"They think I'm some kind of goddess, this is so funny!" she said trying not to get popcorn on the church floor. Bianca Belair sent her a note from Heaven which Rhea read aloud. "When Bayley prayed for the water to be healed from the demon that you brought from New York, the one that Seth Rollins cast out of you, she healed the water so that now, when the people swim in it, they experience miraculous healing," she read. "You were in the water and the healing power is now in you, so the people think you're a healer. That's why they call you Gloria,"
"Gloria?" Havana said as Rhea read the note.
"Because you're full of God's glory," Rhea continued to read and she blushed at Bianca's description of her. "But be warned, the glory is not yours, it is the Lord's and its only on you so Satan can't get his hands on you. The moment you take God's glory for yourself, you'll become a goddess and the people will start to worship you instead of God,"
Perfection walked over to the church window and saw the people queuing up to see "Gloria". One of those people was her father Montez Ford.
"Looks like that might have started already," she said as Havana joined her.
"I better go out there and set the record straight," Rhea said but Bianca sent her other note from Heaven. "Text Montez and tell him to offer the people a free meal, then they'll follow him downtown," she read and Rhea did just that. "Great, now I can stay in here and chill for awhile,"
Rhea lay down on the church altar, her long blond hair flowing down over the altar steps while Perfection and Havana discussed what they had just heard.
"You know Perfection, people call my Mom a goddess," Havana said as they shared popcorn in the church reception. "People worship her and she loves it,"
"Hate to break it to you Havana, but your Mom's evil, it's only natural that she'd want people to worship her. I think that's why your parents aren't getting along right now. Your Mom wants your Dad to worship her but the only person your Dad wants to worship is Jesus Christ. You can't worship God and someone else, as my Mom just said, God is very jealous over who gets His glory," Perfection said and Havana shrugged.
"Grown ups are so weird, why can't they just get along, like us?" she said and Perfection smiled as her Dad ushered the people away from the church made of sand.
"I hope my parents will get along when my Mom comes back. I can't wait to see her," Perfection said as Montez Ford knocked on the church door.
"Let me in Perfection, I need to talk to Rhea about this Gloria character," 'Tez said.
"I thought I told you to buy those people lunch?" Rhea said seeing Montez approaching the altar.
"I gave them my credit card, who is this Gloria person?" 'Tez asked Rhea.
"She's my altar ego, people think that she's a real person but they're just buzzing from the healing water Bayley manifested when she cast the demon out of me," Rhea explained and 'Tez looked around the church.
"It is so peaceful in here," he said sitting on the altar while Rhea relaxed with her hands under her head and a smile on her face. "Does my wife speak to you here?"
"Yes," Rhea replied and 'Tez got nervous.
"Rhea, please don't do anything to ruin BAE for us. You know the rules: no talking to Bianca Belair before or after Wrestlemania," 'Tez said nervously. "If Sasha finds out about this place, we could lose everything,"
"I have nothing to lose 'Tez, you on the other hand need to think long and hard about what you're willing to give up just to main event Wrestlemania," Rhea replied.
"I'd do anything to main event Wrestlemania," 'Tez said resolutely. "I slept with you and betrayed my wife and I'd do it again,"
The sky suddenly rumbled and the lights in the church went out causing Rhea to sit up.
"I think you should leave now," she said to 'Tez.
"Not without you Rhea, you can't stay here and talk to my wife. I'm taking you back to New York City. This church is a bad idea and as soon as I tell the other members of BAE about it, it'll be destroyed," 'Tez said and the church door blew open and a strong wind dragged Montez Ford out of the church and abruptly slammed shut. When 'Tez tried to get back in Rhea wouldn't open the door.
"I knew letting 'Tez in here was a bad idea," she said with her hands on her knees and she sighed heavily looking at Perfection. "What am I going to do about your father Perfection? He needs to leave BAE before its too late,"
"Daddy will come around, I'm sure of it and when he does, my parents will be reunited and BAE will be a thing of the past," Perfection said confidently.
"Until your Mom returns, I think we should play along and act like Gloria doesn't exist. We should make out like she's just a figment of 'Tez's imagination, a story that some spaced out Californians made up. So when Uncle 'Tez blabs about Gloria to BAE, my Mom won't believe him," Havana said and Rhea nodded.
"Speaking of BAE, how are you doing Havana? Your parents aren't doing so good right now, if you wanna talk about it, I'm here for you," Rhea said compassionately.
"Thanks Mami but I'm already Face-Timing with Abiyah; he's got a lot of experience with my Mom and he knows how to handle her mood swings. My Dad is so much more like Abiyah than Roman. I think Mom forgets what a great father my Dad is, everytime I speak to Abi, I can see my Dad's influence on him. I hope my Mom will see that someday too," Havana said and Perfection and Rhea nodded with a smile at Havana. They hoped that Sasha would see the good in Seth someday too.
Downtown Los Angeles
As the other members of BAE searched up and down LA looking for Big E, the former WWE Champion slipped into a busy restaurant with Bayley. BAE went right passed them and Bayley and Big E breathed a sigh of relief.
"I think we finally lost them," Bayley said catching her breath.
"Great, now we can eat I'm starving," Big E said as he picked up the restaurant menu.
"Big E let go of that menu, you can't eat here. You're supposed to be in hiding, the cops are still looking for you. We need to hide you somewhere then get you checked into a hotel. Actually, the hotel is a bad idea, Sasha and the rest of BAE will definitely look for you there. I got a better idea, let's get you to Agoura Hills. You can stay with LC and Cameron Michaels, you'll be safer with the DX kids," Bayley said pulling out her cell-phone to call Triple H's daughter LC.
"Fine but order some food to go," Big E said as Bayley draped him with the Cloak of Invisibility.
LC and Cameron were home but they were not happy Big E was. Being back in the US before Bianca Belair had returned from Heaven was not a good idea, he could be caught. The DX family and the God Girls were going to have to be on high alert, as BAE were sniffing around like evil bloodhounds. Of all places Big E could have been right now, LA was the worst. It was like retuning to the scene of a crime and as far as the LAPD was concerned, Big E was America's Most Wanted right now.
Montez Ford looked from the other side of the restaurant seeing Bayley ordering some food to go and he rubbed his chin as he sat with the people previously in Malibu to see "Gloria." Ford watched as Bayley eventually left with a large order of food and he knew instantly that Big E was with her.
"Enjoy your food folks, I gotta take care of some BAE business," Montez Ford said leaving the people to eat their food.
The people watched as Montez Ford left admiring his good looks but also remembering that he had a photo of "Gloria" on his phone.
"Do you think he's going to see Gloria?" one of the people asked.
"He could be trying to keep her alone. I would if I were seeing a woman that beautiful," another person replied.
"I think we should follow him, he might lead us to Gloria," another person said and the people ate quickly and followed Montez Ford like the Star in the East, hoping that he would lead him to the one the whole of Malibu wanted to worship.
