Chapter 2: Multiverse

When King Magnifico opened his eyes, he found he was in what seemed to be outer space.

'Oh god!' he thought, his heart pounding rapidly. 'I'm in outer space! I'm gonna die! I'M GONNA DIE! There's no oxygen! I CAN'T BREATHE! I CAN'T BREATHE! I...'

He stopped panicking, and it dawned on him that he was still breathing normally. 'Huh. I can breathe.'

He felt like he was in a universe beyond his very own, but in a void where there seemed to be no day or night.

He found that he seemed to be floating in said void. Almost immediately, he realized the only way to move in this dimension, whatever it was, was to swim.

It took him some time to try, but once he did, he soon got movin'.

As he did, he saw a load of orbs floating around him. They reminded him of the wishes he'd used to hoard in his castle.

The wishes that he'd once showed Asha, the girl who he'd wanted to be his apprentice, his successor.

The girl who'd stood up to him.

The girl who'd questioned his way of granting wishes.

The girl who wanted her grandfather's wish granted.

The same girl who, along with her goat, her friends, his wife, and the people of his former home, Rosas, beat him, and trapped him in his own staff.

His hands formed shaking fists, as he remembered that bad memory.

How foolish he had been to consider Asha. "I shouda kicked her out the minute she questioned me." he muttered.

'But it doesn't matter anymore.' he mused. 'She won't be able to find me here.'

As he floated about, he found out the orbs weren't wishes, but instead, portals to other worlds.

Some of which, he noticed were kinda familiar.

'A World where toys come to life when their owners aren't around.' he stared at one.

Another portal, he saw was, 'A world where monsters go into the human world to scare kids to make energy for their city.'

Then he saw worlds that almost were like those he saw in the wishes; a princess riding a pumpkin shaped carriage to a ball, 2 dogs of different breeds eating spaghetti and meatballs, a world with a family in a house full of magic, in a mountain village. Somehow, that last one seemed almost familiar to him.

Then, he saw worlds even he didn't realize - a world with a plumber running through glades, and jumping into pipes, a world where a talking hedgehog raced round loops collecting rings, even a world where something that looked like a cheetah with a little metal backpack using guns.

He saw worlds involving a lion, a zebra, a hippo, and a giraffe travelling to an island, and a world where babies talked and worked in an office, and a world of talking bees, and 2 kids with a man in his underwear with a big red cape, acting like he was a superhero, and many other universes besides, far too many to even mention here, and anyway, since there isn't time to mention them all here, I'll just cut to the main point of the story.

'What is going on?' he mused as he stared, jaw hanging. 'I've never seen universes like this before!'

Soon, he found one portal appear in front of him. When he saw what was in it, it surprised him. It seemed to be some sort of island laboratory.

'I don't understand. What is this-'

But Magnifico never got to finish that statement as he felt another force pull him.

It pulled him into the portal of the island laboratory, and sucked him in.

What was gonna happen to the ex-king of Rosas?

What was that universe that he got sucked in?

Will he be alright?

Will Rosas be a better place without him?

Why am I asking you all of these questions?
