CHAPTER TWO

The big day finally arrived!

There were quite a lot of guests, both human and alien alike. So, there was only one place to hold the wedding perfectly- in orbit around the Earth- which was accessed quickly through a teleportation pad- A very special orbiting chapel was built just for the wedding, organized by some of the finest coordinators in the galaxy. This way, there would be plenty of room for everyone, and the place could actually transform from a chapel into the reception place. The entire building was roofed in see through glass to really the stars shimmer through, and when it was all over, Cathy and Danny would be going on a galactic ferry cruise for their a month long honeymoon

For now, the guests were still arriving, and Commander Zubin was among them. The usher greeted him and asked "Friend of the bride or the groom?"

"Well… both actually." said Zubin "Oh, I'll just find my own seat."

Even Mimi, the Numbarian was there, and she was giddy as ever "Isn't this exciting. Mimi just loves a good wedding."

The minister was already in positon at the altar. He was finding it very hard to concentrate, having never performed a marriage between and alien and a human before.

Danny and Chris were standing by the altar. Since they were both super monster busters, their tuxedos were suped up, with their suit shoulder paddings and their MBC medals and awards.

Chris seemed more nervous than Danny was, and he felt for the rings in his pocket, for the umpteenth time in near panic. "It's almost time." he said.

"Yep… sure is." said Danny, trying to keep his cool.

Chris wiped his brow and sighed "Man, I am so nervous."

Danny gazed at him awkwardly "What are you so nervous about?"

"Well, I've never been a best man before."

"Yeah…? Well I've never been a groom before."

The friends shared a nervous chuckle.

Sam was all dressed up in her bridesmaid's dress, which was yellow with white ruffled edges. Her dark hair was done beautifully in braids dangling playfully down her back. "Wow, I never thought so many people and aliens would come just for one wedding."

"That's why we had this place built especially." said Hugo "Some of our guests even came from around the galaxy just to see this."

Sam still though Cathy and Danny deserved this, and soon she was called to take her place and get ready to march in with the wedding party, and Hugo went to fetch the bride. "Ooh, I think I'm going to need another galactic pacemaker if I don't calm down." he cried.

Then… it began!

Instead of traditional wedding themes, Cathy and Danny had selected a very special music to their liking and befitting for their outer-space surroundings. "Deep Space Nine"

As the music started, Sam was the first to step out, stopping at the left side of the big doors. Then Danny's mom stepped in and stood to the right. Everyone gazed on at the big doors, and in a swift motion they opened wide, and there she was…!

"Whoa!" Danny exclaimed ever so softly under his breath. He, like everyone else, was totally stunned at the sight of Cathy and her elegant white wedding gown. It was long sleeved, with full skirt that hugged her body nicely, really showing off her waist. He veil was clipped onto her head by white flower clips, and her long hair was done up in braids and piled in the back of her head.

Her grandfather came to her side, and literally extended his arm to reach her due to being shorter than she was, and they started down the aisle followed by the bridesmaids. Cathy couldn't stop staring through the transparency of her veil at Danny. She thought all four of her hearts were going to burst.

"You feel alright, my sweet?" her grandfather asked.

"This is… the happiest moment of my life." she peeped back, but her eyes never left Danny. Finally, they reached the altar, and Danny stepped down, still gazing at his bride with love, almost unable to blink his eyes.

Hugo stretched his arms to lift up Cathy's veil, and she leaned down to let him peck her on the cheek. Then he gazed at Danny "Well, she's all yours now." And he shot him a peace-out sign, and Danny shot him one back.

The music ended, Hugo took his seat, and the minister cleared his throat.

"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today, high above the Earth, in presence of god, or whichever god you may worship…" he was referring to all the aliens, but everyone chuckled at the remark "…to join this man, and this alien in the bonds of matrimony."

Cathy and Danny smiled lovingly at one another, though they wished he wouldn't refer to Cathy as just an alien- even if it was the truth.

"Who gives this alien to this man?"

Hugo stretched his arm way up "I do, that's me, yes sir."

Everyone chuckled at how funny he seemed to be acting. The minister cleared his throat again, and the bride and groom stepped up to him.

"Cathy and Daniel… you stand before me, about to take a wondrous journey through life, no matter which race you hail from, is a glorious and magical journey of the soul and heart. The joining of a male and female whose hearts shall be joined as one."

Sam was quivering softly and trying her hardest not to cry, fearing for her tough-girl reputation.

"If there is anyone present who knows why these two should not be joined, please speak now."

Nobody said a word, and nothing at all happened. Danny and Cathy felt so relieved, fearing something was about to happen.

"Daniel Jackson, do you take this alien-"

Danny and Cathy finally gave him a straight look.

"Ahem, excuse me, alien-woman… to be your wedded wife, to love and to cherish, to care for her in sickness and in health, through good times and bad, for better or for worse, and forsaking all others for as long as you both may live?"

Danny gazed deeply into Cathy's eyes "You bet I do."

A few small sniggers were heard.

"Cathy Smith of Rapsodia… do you take this man to be your wedded husband, to love and to cherish, to care for him in sickness and in health, through good times and bad, for better or for worse, and forsaking all others for as long as you both may live?"

"Well duh… of course I do."

Everyone laughed softly, even the minister and Cathy and Danny did. The way she said it made it almost sound like a trick question for gags. The minister cleared his throat yet again, and everyone settled down.

"Who here has the rings that will be given from the groom to the bride and from the bride to the groom…?"

"I do." Chris said proudly, without trying to be funny. He handed the rings to the minister. He placed the rings before him, and blessed them both with a prayer to watch over the marriage in peace.

"Daniel, take this ring, slide it on the third finger on Cathy's left hand, look into her eyes, and repeat after me."

Danny did as he was told. He gazed at his bride with love, took her hand, and was about to slide the ring over her finger and just as the mister opened his mouth to say the vows for Danny to repeat…

…bright lights flashed from above, surprising Danny and Cathy. "Jinkies!" cried Cathy.

More lights flashed form above. "What gives...!" snapped Danny.

Everyone looked up and could see a small group of spaceships hovering overhead. Hugo recognized them almost immediately "Holy galactic nizbiaks- Not them?!"

Cathy and Danny, as well as Chris and Sam recognized the as well "The Technolians!" cried Chris. "What are they doing here?" snapped Sam.

The Technolians were a race of weapon-crazed aliens, and former mercenaries as well. Having a large disposal of suped up weapons at their hand, they used to work for anyone who would hire them and pay them to hunt down or invade and destroy any world or race.

The MBC dealt with them on many occasions, and captured several of them, but they had never faced a swarm like this before.

Suddenly, the doors bust wide open, and in came a swat of aliens outfitted in technological suits and armed with powerful weapons- ray guns, explosions, even plasma whips. "Stay exactly where you are!" one of them shouted. Many of the civilians whimpered in fear. Rollins held it together "Come on, don't let'em see you sweat." she muttered to herself.

Zubin stood angrily "You!" he thundered at the aliens "You are in violation of intergalactic code 15H-46B, trespassing into a forbidden zone."

One of the aliens fired a warning shot just missing him.

Cathy looked as if she was about to explode! "What are you zorgblorgs doing here?!" she shouted "I don't think we invited you."

The troublemaking aliens spotted her and Danny and compared them with their orders. "They are the ones. Seize them!"

The gang could tell this would be trouble. "You crash my wedding, I crash you!" snarled Danny.

Cathy and the others nodded, and then…"MBC, POWER UP!"

John transformed too, his suit color was green.

"Oh my heavens!" cried the minister and he ducked down behind the altar as the fight waged on. Several of the alien guests rose up to aid the club members, even Mimi did. "Mimi doesn't like when a wedding is crashed, be it mine or not." She thundered and began stomping her feet. "MI… MI… MI…!"

Her stomping caused shockwaves that knocked the Technolians out of the air, but also caused the guests and the whole place to tremble with the quake. "Mimi, stop that! You'll break the whole chapel apart!" shouted Sam.

"Sorry." said Mimi "Mimi gets carried away a lot."

The battled waged on, and the MBC got out their ray guns and began to fire, but the Technolians responded by activate holo-barriers around them. "Hey, when did they get this stuff?" John wondered.

Chris scanned the barriers with his visors, and warned everyone "Watch out, they emit jolts of electricity!" but Sam already found out as one of the aliens merely stepped near her, shocking her, and making her hair a mess "Ugh! I spent all morning getting it right!" she growled.

They tried shooting at them, but all the barriers neutralized the blasts. "Dude, it's not working!" cried Danny.

Then it got worse as the aliens showed that the barriers didn't stop their own weapons, and they fired their own stun-rays, knocking out some of the alien guests.

"Everyone quick, get to the emergency transporters!" cried Cathy.

The guests began to run for life as the transported home to safety, but the aliens didn't seem to want much to do with any of them. "We were hired to take the two of you and deliver you to our client!" one of the aliens said, pointing at Danny and Cathy.

"Say what…?" snapped Danny, and before him, Cathy or anyone could say anything. Cathy and Danny got hit by stun blasts and were knocked out cold.

"Cathy!" cried Sam.

"Danny!" cried Chris.

The aliens scooped them up and continued pointing their weapons at the others. The others could do nothing for fear of hitting their friends. "We'll be back for the rest of you!" snarled one of the aliens, and he and his gang sped off, and their group of ships flew away. They even took the liberty of damaging the teleporter so the others couldn't leave the chapel.

"Oh my good zumborks!" cried Hugo.

Sam growled furiously, and Chris angrily punched a seat, hurting his hand in the process.

John inspected the damage of the teleporting pad "It's in pretty bad shape." he said "Luckily, I always come prepared." And he whipped out his handy, on-the-go emergency tool kit that could expand to a proper size, and he begun to work.

"I hope he can fix it soon." cried Sam "I've got a feeling those Technoloians aren't coming back to play marbles."

"What I'd like to know is, who hired them to take Cathy and Danny." said Chris, but then he quickly realized, as did Sam and the others. There wasn't any possible means of mistaking it!
