CHAPTER THREE
Danny began to awaken from his knockout, and he felt as if someone had crashed a meteor into his head. The last thing he remembered was…
"Cathy!" he cried as he shot upright, and he felt his head spinning again. "Uhn… Note to self: Do not get up fast when already dizzy."
Then he noticed his wrist-com was missing, and he finally took the time to notice he was in a bedroom, surrounded by pictures and posters of him. The old Danny would have loved the sight of all this, but he knew this place all too well. "Oh, no…!"
Then he felt a shiver run down his spine telling him he wasn't alone. He turned swiftly, and there she was gazing at him. "Hey there, handsome." she said flirtingly.
"Wendy!"
"That's my name, don't wear it out." She said holding up his confiscated wrist-com. Danny tried to get it, but she stuffed it down her pants making him shudder "No… not in there!"
Danny could already put two and two together. "You hired the Technolians to kidnap me and Cathy."
"As if…" snapped Wendy "Don't think of it as kidnapping. Think of it as like rescuing."
"Rescuing?"
"Yeah, from making the biggest mistake of your life, but enough about that. It's time to talk about us." She began to saunter towards him, almost seductively, but he inched away and then broke for the door to kick it down, but Wendy clicked a remote control, and the door got sealed with a thick sheet of metal.
CLANG! Danny hopped up and down groaning while holding his sore foot. "Love hurts… I know." said Wendy, then she pulled out a gun aiming it straight at him.
"Whoa… hey… what's with that?" Danny asked nervously.
Wendy then proceeded to her closet, and opened it to reveal another minister, tied up and gagged, whom she also had kidnapped and brought to her. "I'll tell you what…" she said staring deeply into Danny's eyes. "You are like so going to marry me right here and now, or I will totally nail you in the heart." she cocked the gun.
Danny shuddered in fear, and felt completely trapped.
Meanwhile Cathy awoke as well, to find a blue sky above her head, and the birds were flying by. "Jinkies… where am I?" she groaned. The last thing she remembered was being at the space chapel after the wedding was crashed.
Then she looked up ahead and saw someone walking up to her in the distance. "Danny?" it looked like him for sure. "Cathy… I'm so glad you're safe, my love. I thought I'd never see you again." He was acting very overdramatic, and snivelling too. Cathy's features hardened, there was only one guy who ever acted this way around her. "…Jeremy!"
He sneered, and clicked his virtual disguise watch, changing into his geeky self. "I thought my performance was perfect. Oh, well, it matters not. Now, we're together. Just you and I…"
Cathy stepped back and tried to run for it, but Jeremy grinned wickedly, and suddenly, Cathy came running straight into his arms, colliding into him and they fell to the ground. "I knew you'd come back for me."
Cathy yelped and ran off again, only to wind up in the same place again, which told her "This is one of your virtual worlds!"
Jeremy sighed heavenly "Ah, that's one reason I love you. You're so brainy and witty. Yes, a simple world of my creation. Here we can be happy and free, and I can give you anything you've ever imagined, or should I say we've ever imagined." He demonstrated by using a remote control to change the scenery, and even make Cathy's favorite foods appear before her, both Earth and alien type.
But still, even with all this, Cathy was not impressed. "Jeremy, how many times do I have to tell you, it's not… going… to happen between us?! I'm in love with Danny."
Jeremy only responded by disguising himself as Danny again. "If you'd like I can stay like this."
"Ugh, Zeewa" cried Cathy "It's like talking to a huffanagan's steel skull."
"Please, don't be mad at me…" said Jeremy "I only want what's best for us both. I couldn't let you marry Danny."
"And that's what really makes me mad!" snapped Cathy "You hired the Technolians! How insane can you get?"
Jeremy took offense to that "I am not insane! I was desperate!" he snarled "People often do crazy things when they are in love, and I was willing to do anything to be with you."
"Including hiring a bunch of insane alien mercenaries bent on destroying the MBC?!" shouted Cathy.
Jeremy winced in confusion.
Meanwhile, Danny tried to tell Wendy the same thing, but she didn't seem to care. She had Danny with her, and that was all that mattered to her.
"Wendy, I'm telling you, those big aliens are going to come back."
"Zip it!" snarled Wendy "You're not getting out of it this time." She reached into her pants and pulled out his wrist-com "Especially without this." she stuffed it back down, grossing Danny out. Then she ungagged the minister, but still threatening both him and Danny with her gun. "Do it!" she sneered at him.
Shaking nervously, the minister began the small ceremony, nervously. "Do you, Wendy… take this man as your husband?"
"I like, so, do!" Wendy snapped quickly, making them both jump.
"Do… you, Danny, take this woman as your wife?"
Danny was sweating hard and quivering. Wendy pointed her gun closer at him "Say it!" she thundered. "Say the words!"
While up in the chapel, John nearly had the teleporter pad fixed, but the others had no luck in contacting Cathy or Danny. "Anything luck…?" asked Sam. "No dice…" said Chris "Danny's still not answering his wrist-com, and Cathy's signal can't be traced."
They all were well aware by now without much needed proof that it was Wendy and Jeremy who hired the Technolians. Sam angrily clenched her fists "When I get my hands on Wendy and Jeremy, I'll hurl them into the sun."
Hugo calmed her down "Don't you think that's a bit harsh?"
"Not as harsh as a punishment we're in for if I don't get us out of here soon…" said John "Okay, I think that's got it."
"You sure it's fixed?" asked Chris.
"It should be."
"Should?!" snapped Sam "Uh, I really don't like the sound of that. We should test it."
All four of them exchanged looks at one another, but no one volunteered.
"I've got it…" said John, and he powered down his suit and placed his wrist-com on the pad. "What are you doing?" asked Chris.
"And you're supposed the smarter of us?" his brother mocked, and he sent the wrist-com down to Earth and told the others to track its signal. "I've got it." said Chris. "Me too." added Sam.
John smiled with pride, and then teleported down and back with his wrist-com, perfectly fine. "Let's go now." said Hugo "I dread to think if those overgrown tin canned monsters will do if they find Cathy or Danny unarmed."
