The next morning outside the Palace of Justice Ash, Pikachu, and the other soldiers were waiting Patiently for Giovanni to arrive. So that they can get started on their search for the gypsy girl. Ash knew that this is going to be the day that he is afraid of and now his worried for Felicia had grown a lot worse ever since he learned that she had escaped from the church. He was happy that she got to go home but he is still worried about what is going to happen to her when Giovanni does find her. This was going through his head when he was waiting for Giovanni to arrive. All of them were standing with their arms behind their backs as they were waiting for their commander to show up so that he can give them their orders. They know that he wants them to look for the gypsy girl but they just want to know how he wants them to find her and they just wanted to know what the plan was. He finally showed up in a carriage that was parked right in front of his soldiers.
Giovanni came out of his carriage and held his head which looks like he got a headache. Ash and the Soldiers all gave Giovanni a salute once he came out of the carriage so that he can greet everyone.
"Morning sir, Are you feeling alright," Ash asked his leader as he gave him a salute . " my aching head ohh good morning to you too Captain Ash just a horrible night's sleep That's all." He said as he was rubbing his eyes as they were beaten red. " will I see, So what are your orders, sir," Ash asked his commander.
Then Giovanni ignored his headache and started to get right to business He stand tall and walked in front of Ash and his soldier army. " Today is the day that we will find that gypsy girl, I want all of you to search every corner, every house for her. if you have to burn a house or a store then that is what we are going to do. We will tear this city apart until we find her. terminate the citizens about her whereabouts. Those are my orders now no one rests until we find her is that understood? We will do nothing but look for the gypsy girl even if we will have to destroy the city in other to find her then that is what we are going to do. Now move out and do not fail me" Giovanni said as this was giving Ash a bad feeling. Then he turn his attention to Ash who was feeling uncomfortable about doing this job because he didn't like seeing innocent people get hurt for something that they didn't do. " Captain Ash," The judge said as he looked at him.
" ugh, yes sir," he asked nervously. I want you to come with me we will terminate some of the civilians in their homes and stores to see if they have any info or if they are hiding a gypsy in their home. If they don't give us the answer that we are looking for then they will have to pay a fine for the gypsy or get arrested' Giovanni said to him. Ash didn't bother to say anything but just watch his leader climb on top of his Rapidash as he did the same thing with his, but without turning to his Pikachu and said " I have a bad feeling about this Pikachu" Ash said as he started to follow Giovanni very slowly. Pikachu just said "Pikachu" which meant me too.
As Giovanni was leading his soldiers he noticed that Ash was slowly following close behind him and he didn't like it. So he turned to face him and said "Keep up boy, We are never going to find the gypsy girl with you riding so slow, Now stop slowing us down and hurry up" Giovanni shouted at him. Ash just looked down and said yes sir as he run up so that he was beside Giovanni. As he had a sad expression on his face which is a sign that he doesn't want to do this job anymore but he has to because it could be the only way to protect the people, by the looks of it, he will be doing the opposite and he didn't want to watch these innocent people get massacre by Giovanni and he can't do anything to stop him.
Throughout the day Giovanni and his men have been breaking into people's houses and destroying shops. Doing all they can to find Felicia. Their first stop was the baker who looked Terrified once he saw Giovanni and his soldiers destroying his bakery as they were looking for gypsies they found some under the floor. The soldiers grabbed them by their arms and made them face the judge, He demanded them to tell him where Felicia was but no one had a clue where she was. This just got him angry and thought that they were lying so that they can protect her. So he told his men to either arrest them or have them pay a fine for their arrogance.
During Giovanni's attack on the city Ash and Pikachu were forced to watch all the citizens of Paris get massacred by Giovanni or have them arrested. He knew that this has gotten too far. He is destroying people's homes because no one will know where Felicia was. This was just heartbreaking to Ash and Pikachu. He knew that his commander is crazy but he didn't know that he was a psycho. He tried hard to keep his cool but when he was about to make a scene Pikachu will try to hold him back.
He knew that deep in his heart that he has to do something to stop this. Giovanni has tortured Women, men, and children of any age if they didn't give him any information about Felicia or where is she hiding. But everyone has said the same answer every time and that is they don't know. Which will lead them to pay a fine or they will get arrested. People were even getting arrested for even housing a gypsy in their homes.
This has been going on throughout the whole day, at this point, Ash is starting to get tired of Giovanni's actions and he knew that deep in his heart that he has to do something to stop this mad man but the only thing that he and his Pikachu can do is just watch these poor people suffer with broken hearts. Ash has been watching Giovanni hurt an innocent family who was getting dragged into a van as they were getting arrested for not having any information about Felicia." ugh I can't stand to watch this anymore Pikachu. Giovanni has gotten way too far for looking for Felicia. I am tired of working for something that I am against and it is time that we started doing the right thing" Ash told his Pikachu who was a little scared of what Ash had in mind but agreed with him. That Giovanni has gotten insane and they needed to stop this from going any further.
Meanwhile, somewhere nearby Ash was not the only one who was disgusted by Giovanni's attack on the city. On the sidelines trying to hide, Felicia and a gypsy man were sneaky following Giovanni and his soldiers in hiding. To keep herself from being spotted Felicia put on a hood and a jacket so that she can stay out of eyesight and so that none of the soldiers or Giovanni spots her. Felicia was surprised that Giovanni will destroy the whole city to search for her. She has been getting a strange feeling that this is going to get much worse than it already is and she felt like she is the one that needs to do something to stop this madness but if she does then things will just get worse for her and for her people. She didn't want to put them even more in danger from Giovanni than they already are. So the only thing that she can do is just stay out of sight and try to spy on Giovanni and his army without getting spotted. But as soon as they were about to do something the gypsy man asked her. So what are we going to do? It's really bad out there, do you think we should do something about it" The man asked Felicia who was scarred about how destroyed Paris looked.
So after she was out of her thoughts she turned to the man and said. " We can't go out there yet, We just need to wait for the right moment" she begins to say until Rosemary pointed to Ash and Pikachu who looked miserable as they were watching all of these innocent people lose their lives and homes for not giving any information or not knowing about a person's whereabouts. " Awww hey Rosemary look over at Ash and Pikachu they look like they were forced to watch these people suffer. I wish we can run over to them so that I can hug them and tell them that we were sorry about what happened at the church the other day. I know that they didn't want to do this. I can see it in their eyes and we were just too stubborn to believe them that all this time they were trying to help us. I feel so ashamed of myself ." Felicia said as she felt Rosemary nuzzling her as a way of getting her to stay focused on the task at hand. She was also telling her that she was worried about them too.
" Thanks, Rosemary your right, I am sure that Ash and Pikachu can take care of themselves but I do have to say that we should follow them to see where they are headed. But we will help them when the time comes so don't worry too much about them, alright Rosemary Felicia said to her Pikachu and then turned to the gypsy man who was sneaky following Giovanni and his soldiers trying hard not to be spotted. But as they were following them, Felicia held her hands close to her chest as she was praying to herself and said " Oh Ash I'm so sorry that you and Pikachu have to go through this." She said in a whisper so that the gypsy man didn't hear her. But he didn't he was too busy following Giovanni and his men until they went to go hide in a crowd of people. They were crowding around a farmhouse that looked very familiar to Felicia and Rosemary.
Felicia step out of the crowd to get a better look at the house but the gypsy stopped her before she went too close. " oh no they are heading over to the miller's house. We have to head over there. I got to see what Giovanni is going to do to them" Felicia said as she and Rosemary were willingly hiding in a hooded jacket. " it seems that you know them" the man asked her. " oh yes they were the first people that ever welcomed me into this city. They even taught me to dance a long time ago. They were even the first people that ever treated me with kindness and treated me as an equal. Felicia said as she was trying as much as possible to get a closer look at what is going to happen when they get to the house. She just hopes that Giovanni will not hurt them. But knowing him he will. So Felicia has to keep a close eye on them but it was really hard to keep her hidden and every time she was getting too close. The gypsy man will just pull her back. " Alright Felicia, we can get a closer look but be careful. But let's not do anything Reckless until we get there. The man said to her. She responded with a head nod which meant she understood.
After that Felicia and the man quietly followed the crowd towards the house as they were waiting for Giovanni to arrive at the house with his soldiers.
Speaking of which when they were on their way to the miller's house. Giovanni was getting frustrated that he hadn't found any sign of the gypsy girl and none of the citizens that he interrogated were useless, to say the least, which is no wonder he arrested them for being so arrogant. Then he saw Ash who looked scarred by what he just saw and he will never forgive himself for letting this happen. " Say Captain it is ashamed that we haven't found the gypsy girl yet huh but I am sure that she has to be in this house and look at all this money we got, I am sure that I am going to have enough to get me more Soldiers for my army that will help me find the court of miracles and destroy every single gypsy that lives there," Giovanni said to Ash who was too lost in his thoughts to listen to him and growled quietly to himself because he was getting tired of listening to him talking about the gypsy girl non stop so he decided to keep his opinion to himself because he will get in trouble if he said something like that in front of him. " You know you kinda remind me of when I was your age. Discipline and knows how to take orders. That is what I expect from a captain like yourself. Now when we get to this house I have a special job for you. " he told him. Ash was still looking down at the ground as he was having bad thoughts of himself looking like Giovanni when he grows up but he shook it off to know that is never going to happen. Ash came out of his thoughts once he felt someone touching him on the shoulder and it was Giovanni. He looked up at his commander and said " I'm sorry sir, did you say something" he asked.
" Yes I said when we get to our next stop I have a special job that I want you to do for me but we have to get there before I can tell you what the job is," Giovanni said to him which made Ash cringe a little on what job that Giovanni wanted him to do but all he knows it is something that he is not going to like and that someone is going to get hurt. So without thinking Ash just nodded and said as you wish sir" Ash said as he was getting really uncomfortable about the oncoming job that Giovanni is going to assign him.
As Giovanni was getting ahead of his army so that he can lead them to the house that is ahead. Ash and Pikachu we're having bad feelings about what is about to happen.
"Alright Pikachu, I had grown tired of working for this mad man and it is about time we start doing the right thing. The most important job that I have to remember is if Giovanni does anything deadly to the people who live in that house. Then I will put a stop to it cause this has gotten way too far. I also hope that wherever Felicia and Rosemary are, I just hope that they are safe and we will do whatever it takes to make sure that Giovanni never finds her, the gypsies, and everyone else in this city from Giovanni, cause it he does then he will have to go through us first. That is a promise that I will never break. It is time for me to do the job that I wanted to do from the start and that is to protect everyone that is in this city that is what I am going to do and no one is going to stop us. This is a promise that I will keep with my life it's time to start protecting, then hurting." Ash said as he was squeezing his fist in anger as he made a huge promise that he will protect Felicia, her people, their Pokemon, and anyone else that Giovanni has hurt at all costs even if it cost him his life.
Pikachu just nuzzled against his face in a way of saying that I agree with you and then Ash thanked him for supporting him.
That was when he realized that he was far behind the other soldiers. This causes him to make his Rapidash go a lot faster. Before he knew it he was standing right next to Giovanni. Who just growled at him and said "Took you long enough, now that all of us our here let's see if they are hiding any gypsies in their home or have any info about the gypsy girl. But this time captain I want you to come into the house with me," Giovanni told Ash. Who just got off his Rapidash as he rolled his eyes and stood behind Giovanni as they were about to enter the house.
As Giovanni and his men got to the house. The family was shaking with fear once they saw the judge coming in with his soldiers. The family was not the only ones who were scared Felicia was also worried about them as well and hope that Giovanni will not do anything that will hurt them too badly. As she, Rosemary, and the gypsy man were watching from the crowd who were gossiping about how mad Giovanni is and that they have not seen him act like this before.
Felicia's nerves were getting a lot worse once she saw Giovanni and his men approach the house but she felt better once she saw Ash was there and hopes that he will protect the family from Giovanni. So Felicia closed her eyes and prayed that he will do that. " Oh Ash please don't let Giovanni hurt this family," She said quietly to herself and smiled once she saw him and hoped that everything is going to be alright now that he is here and hoped that he will protect them.
When Felicia was praying, the gypsy man can tell that Felicia cares a lot about that soldier and thought he has to be the one that has been helping her all this time and he couldn't believe a soldier will do all of that for a gypsy and he can tell that this one was different than all the others.
But he just wished that if Felicia wasn't a gypsy she could be with him but what he doesn't know is things are about to change. So he placed a hand on her shoulder so that he can ask her something. " Ugh Felicia it seems to me that you care a lot about this soldier, don't you? The gypsy man asked. Felicia just looked Puzzled and her face turned bright pink. " um I guess you can say that" she said trying hard to hide the fact that she does care about him but she didn't want to tell anyone because gypsies and Soldiers can not be together but she wants to be with him with all of her heart but they can't because she is a gypsy and his a soldier and they will get in huge trouble if they ever find a way to be together without getting into trouble with their sides. He was the only person that made her feel like she can be herself without getting into trouble. " Will he is the one that has been helping me get out of trouble with Giovanni" she said to him. " So I guess you can say that I have fallen for him," she said as she blushed. The gypsy man just signed at her and can tell that she likes him. " please don't tell anyone it will get me in huge trouble with the others and I don't even want to know what Brock will do if he finds out" Felicia said to him. " Don't worry your secret is safe with me" the gypsy man said.
Felicia turned to him and said thanks for keeping it a secret. " No problem but we can talk about that later cause right now we have to try to help this family and see what Giovanni is going to do to them," he told her. She just nodded in agreement and went back on watching the scene that is going on at the miller's house and hoping that nothing bad will happen to them but hopefully, with Ash there, nothing can't go wrong. She hoped to herself as she was trying to hide in her hood so that no one in the crowd can see her face.
When Giovanni and his army got to the house. They blast thru the door as they were looking in every room to see if they are housing a gypsy or Felicia. So as the soldiers were searching the house. Giovanni along with Ash behind him. He was interrogating the family to see if they had any contact with any gypsies. But the family was too afraid to speak up to him. The family had a mother, a father, a son and a daughter and all of them were all terrified of what Giovanni was doing to their house. So Giovanni walked up to the family to question them. " alright have any of you have kept any gypsies in this household" Giovanni asked them. " will our house has always been opened to any wandering traveler. But I am sure you, my lord that we have not seen any gypsies or the gypsy girl '' the father said to the judge who was down on his knees begging to him to let him and his family go free without harm.
Behind Giovanni, Ash and Pikachu were starting to feel bad for the family but there is nothing that they can't do at the moment. All they can do is just watch in pain as this family lose their lives to this cruel evil man. " will if it what you are saying is true than I will get to the bottom of this until then this house will be on house arrest. Giovanni said as he left the house with Ash following him" but sir, we know nothing about these gypsies," the man tried to say but Giovanni just shut the door in his face and then turn his attention to Ash. Ash wanted to stand up for the family but before he was about to he noticed that Giovanni was handing him a torch.
As soon as the door was closed he went over to Ash and told him to burn down their house but of course Ash didn't want to cause any harm to anymore people.
" alright captain, this is the special job that I want you to do. He said as he grabbed a torch that had fire on it and handed it to him. " I want you to burn this house to the ground" he ordered. Ash's face was glowing bright red as his anger burning inside him and couldn't believe that the job that Giovanni has given him is to burn the house of this innocent family.
" WHAT! YOU MUST BE CRAZY TO EVEN THINK. I WILL DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT. THIS IS WHEN I cross the line. I have had it. I knew that working for you was a mistake and no I will not. This has gotten out of hand. I have seen so many people losing their lives and homes to you and this is when it stops" Ash shouted to Giovanni. " but you will do it because it is an order and that is what you and your partner were trained to do and that is to follow orders ." Giovanni growled at Ash. " I don't follow orders that have to do with harming the innocent" Ash shouted at him As Ash was standing tall he tossed the torch into a nearby wishing well and threw it down. Which made Giovanni's blood boil and made it clear that he will not do it " you incident Trader" Giovanni said as he grabbed another torch from one of his soldiers and set the house on fire which caused Felicia to almost revealed herself until the gypsy man stopped her but what caught her off guard was what Ash did.
.When Ash refused to set the family's house on fire. Giovanni decided to burn it himself. As soon as he did that Ash screamed "You monster" at him in a very fearful tone. Then he did something that caught everyone off guard. He and Pikachu dived right into the house so that he could save the parents and Pikachu could save the children. Everyone was so impressed by Ash's heroic deed when they got out of the fire. The family turned to him and Pikachu and thanked them for saving their lives. Ash felt very grateful for what he did. Even Felicia saw what he did and she was so impressed which surprised that he risked his own life to save people that he didn't even know. He must be the bravest and craziest person that she had ever met.
After Ash dived into the burning house everyone was impressed on what he did and crazy at the same time. In the crowd Felicia was also surprised that he will do something so heroic and brave which is making her love for him grow even more. She couldn't believe that someone would be so brave and crazy to do something like that. " NO ASH!" Felicia screamed in a panic hoping that he and Pikachu would be alright. " oh no, Ash, Pikachu, okay I have to show myself now. I can't let these people get hurt because of me. You know what I am going to show myself" Felicia cried. " Felicia no that will just make this worse and look he saved the family," the man said. Felicia opened her eyes and noticed that Ash had just saved the family which made her tear up a bit and she was happy to see him, Pikachu, and the family safe from the fire. But one thing for sure is that she will never forgive Giovanni for what he has done to him and the family. She was so happy that she wanted to run up to them and apologize about what happened at the church the other day and all she wanted to do was just give him a huge hug for wanting to apologize and for saving that family's lives.
But not everyone was happy about Ash's save. Giovanni called his Persian to come out and attack Pikachu which caused Ash to panic and tried to run over to the cat but he was grabbed by two soldiers stopping him from reaching Pikachu. " Hey let me and my Pikachu go now" he screamed. " Not a chance, I told you what will happen if you mess up again, and now this is the punishment that traders get and that is to face the power of death. So do you have any last words trader " Giovanni said as he was standing on top of the boy.
" It will be the proudest moment of my life sir. ," Ash said as he closed his eyes and waited for the soldier to cut his head off but all of a sudden a voice was heard from the crowd will not let this happen " Not on my watch you won't," Felicia said as she tossed a rock at Giovanni's rapidash which caused it to freak out and threw Giovanni off of his back. As soon as the guards were Distracted. Ash punches the two soldiers in the face and lets him go. Then he jumped on top of the fire type pokemon and rode straight into the city with Giovanni's soldiers firing arrows at him and trying hard to hit Ash without hitting the Rapidash
Meanwhile it looked like Ash and pikachu would need some help. After Felicia threw the rock at the Rapidash. Rosemary helped out pikachu by using a thunderbolt on Persian so that she could stop it from hurting him. Then that is when Ash and Pikachu rode into the city with arrows being shot at them. But one hit him right in the chest which Felicia and Rosemary noticed and ran underneath the bridge that is heading straight into the city. So when he was shot in the chest he fell right off the horse and into the lake below.
Once Giovanni and his shoilders reach place where Ash fell they were about to aim them at lake until Giovanni told them to not waste them and just let Ash drown. " Hey Say your arrows, let the Trader drown to death, now find the gypsy girl and if you have to burn this whole city to the ground and then that is what we are going to do" Said Giovanni as he got his Rapidash back and rode it into the city. Leaving Ash to drown in the lake but what they don't know there is someone underneath the bridge who is going to save him and his pikachu from his watery death.
After Ash and pikachu fell into the river. Felicia knew she and Rosemary have to save them. So when Giovanni left with his soldiers. She told Rosemary that she will rescue Ash and Rosemary will save Pikachu. " Oh no Ash, alright Rosemary this is what I need you to do. I need you to rescue Pikachu will I save Ash, okay" Felicia said to her pikachu until she nodded at the plan. Then both of them dived down to the river to save Ash and Pikachu. On the side of the river the gypsy man came right on time to pull them to shore. " alright we got them, she said as she and Rosemary came up to the surface and swam over to the man. Who was helping them reach land. Now I know the perfect place where we can hide them, everyone follow me to Notre dame. I know someone who can help us" Felicia said as her and the gypsy man were carrying the unconscious Ash all the way up threw the city making their way over to Norte dame. As Rosemary was doing the best she could to carry Pikachu who was also unconscious as well.
The Gypsy man didn't bother to argue with her and just did what he was told. As Felicia was carrying him she was still shocked at the heroic stunt that he just pulled. She thought that it was so sweet that he would risk his own life to save someone that he didn't even know and she found that very amazing. She couldn't believe that she had met someone so brave, handsome, and caring all of her life. She had never felt this way for anyone and deep down inside she loved this new emotion that she is feeling for him. Her eyes were glowing like sparkles when she was looking at the unconscious Ash.
" Ash, why did you do that, you have to be the craziest and the bravest soldier that I have ever met. Deep down inside that is what I love about you and I feel ashamed of myself for not believing that you can be trusted, after seeing what he did for that family really changed my mind about what I thought about you. He's not a bad guy. He is someone that is misunderstood and he needs someone that understands him and that is going to be me. Oh, Ash, I wish I could say that I am sorry for not believing that you were trying to protect Rosemary and me." she thought to herself.
As they were carrying Ash threw the city trying to make their way over to Notre Dame without being spotted. But the gypsy man couldn't help but wish that there was a way that Ash and Felicia could be together because he could see how much she cared for this man. It was just making his heart break knowing that they are from different sides. But he is sure things will change since now the boy is no longer a soldier anymore. There may be a way for them to be together after all.
Meanwhile during the search for the Gypsy girl Giovanni and his men have burned the whole city to the ground and it looked like they were running out of places where they could find her until a thought came to mind. Maybe she had some help from someone inside the church and there was only one person that came to his mind that would do such a thing and that is Sophocles.
" Hey, sir we have looked, and asked everyone in the city and there is no sign of the gypsy girl. So what should we do now"" One of the soldiers asked Giovanni who was sitting on his Rapidash as he was thinking of a way on how she had escaped. " This is impossible that whole place was guarded, there has to be no way she had escaped unless someone helped her." he thought to himself. " Don't worry there is one place that we haven't checked and you don't have to worry because I am going to check it out. I just need to ask someone if they know anything about what happened and I know Exactly who I am going to ask my adopted son." Giovanni said to the soldier. He responded with a nod of Approval and rode off on his Rapidash.
As Felicia and the gypsy man made it to Notre Dame she opened the door and called for Sophocles. " Sophocles are you here, I must ask for your help one more time," She said as she saw him running down the stairs so that he could greet her. " Sure Felicia I will help you with anything," Sophocles said. " Will it is not just me who needs your help is them." She said as she carried the Unconscious Ash. " This is Ash and this is his partner Pikachu who was also unconscious He is wounded and he is a fugitive like me I know that he will be safe here so is there a good place where we can hide them until he feels better Felicia asked Desperately
Sophocles was a little bit on shore about it but he decided to hide them under the table where his toy city was.
Once Felicia sat Ash down on a pillow she started to wash out his wounds. Which caused Ash to wake up in shock. " Oh, Felicia, thank goodness you're safe. I was so worried that something bad might have happened to you or have the opportunity to apologize that I didn't mean to drag you into this mess or to trap you here either. I just wanted you to be safe. he said in an apologetic tone, as he sat back up fast but Felicia told him to rest and don't get up so fast because it would ruin The bandages that she put on his chest where the arrow shot him in..
" shush, don't sit up too fast you will ruin the bandages, no you are not the one who should be apologizing I am the one who should have known that you and Pikachu were just trying to help us and I was just too stubborn to realize it, to know that you were just trying to protect us. So if there is anyone that needs to apologize is me, but you sir, have to be the bravest or the craziest soldier that I have ever met, jumping into a burning building to save a family that was brave of you and that family Owes you their lives.
" oh please don't call me that the last thing I ever want to be called is a Soldier and how is Pikachu alright" Ash asked her. " You don't need to worry about him, Rosemary is taking care of him for you. So don't worry so now let's just focus on the wound that is on your chest because that arrow almost got you in the heart you are so lucky to be alive right now. Felicia responded.
As Ash and Felicia were having their little Romantic moment. Sophocles can tell that Felicia has feelings for Ash which breaks his heart once he watches them get Cozy but what breaks his heart is when Ash says, " Are you sure about that Cause if they gotten me in the heart then I wouldn't have lost all of my feelings for you. Ash said as he placed his hand on her cheek so that he could push her face towards his once he did Felicia wrapped her hands around his raven hair. As they pushed each other into a strong Passionate kiss. Which broke Sophocles heart to pieces knowing that Felicia will never have those feelings for him.
Will on the sidelines the trainers were not the only ones who kissed. Pikachu finally woke up to Rosemary kissing him which made Pikachu kiss her back and realize what was happening that he was in the hands of his favorite Pikachu Rosemary. Then everyone was kissing no one heard the Commotion that was going on outside at the entrance of the church. Which meant Felicia had to leave and fast.
Everyone stopped kissing once they heard Giovanni from outside which made Felicia worried and told Ash that he would stay in the bell tower with Sophocles until you are strong enough to move.
" Oh no Giovanni is coming what am I and Pikachu supposed to do" Ash said as he and Felicia broke away from their kiss and he looked at her. " Don't worry Sophocles will take care of you and Pikachu until you feel that you are strong enough to move on your own" Felicia explain to him. Ash took a look at Sophocles and remembered him from the festival. " Oh yeah , I remember him from the festival. I'm sorry about how the townspeople treated you" he told him this caused Sophocles to feel Embarrassed because that is the last thing that he wanted to be reminded of, but it was a short conversation once he saw that his pikachu was awake. Pikachu ran over to Ash and they hugged each other as they did Ash was holding pikachu tight and told Felicia that she should leave before Giovanni found her. " you should go Felicia, I don't want that monster to capture you" Ash told her as he kissed her on the cheek. " Don't worry but I want you to stay safe as will, Come on Rosemary let's head back to the court of Miracles before we get spotted. She said as they ran out the back door without Felicia telling Sophocles to promise her that he would not let anything bad happen to Ash and pikachu. "Sophocles please promise me you won't let anything bad happen to them, my Conscience is on your shoulders" She said as she thanked him one more time and ran out of the church as fast as possible will she was gone. Sophocles went back to the bell tower and Noticed that Ash was just lying there. " So what are I and Pikachu supposed to hide" Ash asked him.
Sophocles just told him to hide under the table until Giovanni leaves, but Ash thinks that the table looked to small so they got into an argument until they realize that Ash didn't had time to argue with him and just did the best he can To squeeze himself and pikachu under the table but it was very uncomfortable because the table was too small so they Tried their best to make it work by pushing themselves through the table. Once Ash and pikachu were under the table Sophocles asked them to be quiet. " Now be quiet and don't move, I can hear him coming up the stairs now" Sophocles told Ash.
Pika, Pikachu" pikachu said to Ash. " Don't worry pikachu I know this is very uncomfortable but we have to do this to help Sophocles, Felicia and Rosemary" Ash whispered as he covered his partner's mouth to keep him from revealing themselves to the judge. Cause now that he is a Fugitive they will have to hide. He will be even more troubled if Giovanni learns that Ash has survived the fall off of the bridge. " Now let's just hide under here and see what happens and as soon as he is gone we will go out to find Felicia and Rosemary," Ash whistered to pikachu.
Sophocles heard them and told them to be quiet and that Giovanni is coming. " hey if you guys don't want to be spotted I would suggest that you will be quiet" Sophocles told them. " right sorry" Ash said as he hid under the table with him holding pikachu.
When Ash was hidden Giovanni showed up to the bell tower notice that Sophocles seems to be nervous about something. " Good evening Sophocles" Giovanni said as he was Scanning around the place like he was looking for something. " Good evening master, I sorry about the mess I didn't know that you would be coming?" he responded to him. " Oh Sophocles you know that I will never miss a meal with you," he said as he sat at table as he was waiting for Sophocles to set the table for him. " oh are you supposed to set the table" he asked. Then he Apologizes and grab a couple up plates and cups for him and for Giovanni. When the Sophocles was getting everything Giovanni noticed something about his toy city seemed a little different.
Sophocles set both plates one for him and for Giovanni. " Sophocles it seems like something is troubling you, would you like to share it with me." he asked with a smirk on his face. " Oh no I'm fine what makes you think I have a problem" he asked, " Will the first thing is that you are not eating your grapes and you seem a little stressed is there anything that you would like to talk to me about" he asked him suspiciously.
As they are talking Giovanni Accidentally kicks Ash in the face but he covers his mouth before he can scream out in pain and thinks that Giovanni is suppose to be a father-figure to Sophocles and he starts to feel bad for how he has been treated all of his life and thought that he needs to get out of here. Maybe he will be able to help them find Felicia and the court of miracles but his thought was cut short when he was listening to Giovanni's Conversation with Sophocles.
" Don't lie to me Sophocles I know that something is bothering you it is all over your face and it is all over your little toy city and what do we have here?" He asked as he picked a toy figure that looked exactly like Felicia. "it looks strangely familiar it looks like the Gypsy girl that I trapped here. Then he saw Sophocles getting nervous now. I knew it you are the one that helped HER ESCAPE!!!!. And now the whole city is on fire because of you Sophocles!" he yelled at him when will you learn that gypsies are evil? " You don't understand Master she was kind to me so I had to help her." he said nervously. Then Giovanni got out of his seat and went over to his son picked up by his shirt and said this. That was not kindness she was tricking you, he yelled until he calmed down because he had an idea. " But you don't have to worry about her much longer. I will free you from her spell" he said as he dropped Sophocles on the floor and Slowly walked over to the Felicia toy figure picked it up and placed it in the fireplace as he was watching the toy burn into ashes. " What do you mean" Sophocles asked nervously.
" Tomorrow at dawn I will attack with a thousand men," he said with a smirk as he left the room. Once he was gone from earshot. Ash and Pikachu were free to get out of their hiding spot and thought about what Giovanni just said about his attack. " Wow finally he's gone, all my gosh we have to find the court of Miracles before Giovanni does so we can warn Felicia and the Gypsies about his attack, and we have to get there before he does," Ash said in shock but then he walked over to Sophocles which was starting to make him feel bad as he walked over to him and placed a hand on his shoulder and told him that everything was going to be alright. " Hey come on cheer up, I'm sorry how Giovanni treated you but you can explain that to me on our way to the court of Miracles so that we can save Felicia and her people. You do want to do that right? Ash asked.
" I'm sorry Ash, but I am not going with you I can't disobey my master again. You saw what happened at the Festival there is no way that I am ever going out in public again look at me I am to ugly to be seen by a person" he said. This got Ash frustrated and said " but come on you can't let that stop you from helping others at least do it for Felicia, she is the one who needs you, not me but if you want to stay here and be locked up and not save Innocent people from harm then that's your choice. But if you change your mind and do the right thing. Me and Pikachu will be downstairs if you decide that you want to help us and most importantly help Felicia" Ash said as he walked slowly down the stairs hoping that Sophocles would change his mind and wish that he could tell him what happened at the festival that it was Giovanni and the soldiers that started to throw fruit at him, not the townspeople. It was just a misunderstanding.
" come on Pikachu, let's go save Felicia and her people by ourselves! You are more than welcome to join us, wow I thought you were Felicia's friend will I guess I was wrong wow some friend you are. Not helping a friend who needs help what kind of a friend is that" Ash told Pikachu making sure that he was loud enough for Sophocles to hear.
Sophocles was starting to feel guilty as he realized that Ash was right he was being selfish and should go out and help Ash find Felicia and the other Gypsies and warn them of the danger. He got disappointed looks from the Gargoyles which quickly changed his mind. This is giving him so many choices but he doesn't know which one is the right one because he does want to save Felicia but he is just too scared about having other people see his face and disobeying Giovanni's orders about always staying in the bell tower. So with a sign huff and one last look at the gargoyles. He might be out of his mind but Ash is right he was selfish and decided to go and help Ash save the gypsies from Giovanni so he ran downstairs to catch up with Ash.
The Gargoyles did not say anything they just gave him a look which that you should go and help him it is the right thing to do
" why are you giving me those looks, don't tell me you want me to go down there and help him save the gypsies from Giovanni and then the town will cheer for me like some kind of hero," Sophocles shouted to the gargoyles.
"alright fine, I will help him so that you know you three are going to regret this and so am I," he said as he grabbed his jacket and ran down the stairs to catch up with Ash.
" Hey Ash, wait up!" he said as he ran down the stairs.
Speaking of which when Ash and Pikachu got to the entrance they heard a voice that was coming from up the stairs. They stop walking so they can have Sophocles catch up to him.
" hey Ash, I decided to go with you but remember this I am doing this for Felicia, not for you. I just want to warn Felicia and then go home before Giovanni finds out I have escaped again " he reminds him. " I'm happy that you came to your senses. But the first thing is to find the court of miracles which I have no idea where it is" Ash said as he was thinking out loud.
Then Sophocles remembered the necklace that Felicia gave him and said "When you wear this pendant you hold the city in your hand. Ash I know what can help us is this pendant that Felicia gave me." he said out loud which got Ash's attention.
" wait what is that you are holding is that something that can help us find the court of miracles? But how is a pendant going to help us? Let me see it for a second and you said that Felicia gave this to you?" Ash said as he grabbed the pendant out of Sophocles hand.
" I don't see how this pendant can help us. Can you prove to me how this will help us" he explained as he examined it
" it's a map of the city and you see the cross right in the middle of it. That has to be where the court of miracles is." Sophocles explained to Ash but he still didn't understand how it is a map. " will okay, I still don't see this thing as a map but if it was a gift from Felicia and you say that it is a map. Then I believe you but I want you to lead the way. But one more thing if we are going to do this right we need to work together as a team, okay," Ash told him.
" fine by me now, follow me. I am sure that this map will get us to the court of miracles in no time" he said as snapped Ash on the back which caused him to moan in pain since he was still soar from the arrow shot.
"All alright let's go." Ash said as he held his back from the snap that Sophocles gave him. As he and Sophocles walked deep into the city as they were following the pendant which Ash was starting to believe that Sophocles was right about the pendant being a map and he almost felt bad for doubting him.
Wow. I am finally done with this chapter. On the next chapter Ash and Sophocles will go to the Court of Miracles what do you think what will await them. When they get there. What are the gypsies going to do about Giovanni's attack. How is Brock and the other gypsies going to react when they find unwanted visitors in the Court of Miracles. Will they welcome them with open arms or will they attack them due to misunderstanding. Lots of dangerous and exciting events are happening on the next chapter. What is Ash going to do now that he does not work for Giovanni anymore and Will Sophocles decides to stay in the Court of Miracles. This is going to be a very special chapter. What is going to happen during Giovanni's attack. There are so many questions that are going to be answered on the next chapter. But the biggest question is will anyone Live to tell the tale.
