CHAPTER 2

(AMARU: BONDS OF LIFETIME) [PART 2]

Naruto and Amaru looked into each other's eyes. Before she could say anything, Naruto noticed that a burning wooden beam was on the verge of falling on them. Quickly, he picked her up in bridal style and hirashined back to the front of the building.

She put her down on the ground, resting her head against a box.

"Are you ok, Amaru?" He asked her out of concern and she nodded.

"Y-Yes, I-I am…" she was still blushing after the incident that took place inside the building.

"Naruto-san? What about the building?" An old woman came and asked him.

"If I use a water jutsu, it will simply damage the surroundings. After the entire building collapses, I'll use my wood style to build a better building."

"That is a better option," Mirai spoke out as the old woman nodded in agreement.

"But my question is, what is the reason behind the occurrence of fire?" Mirai asked as Naruto replied, "This has to be someone's doing…"

"WE DID IT!" Naruto was shocked by the announcement as he looked back and saw three people, standing with some swords in their hands. The villagers got scared and immediately pushed back to a safer location. Mirai stood beside Amaru, who was watching the entire situation with a concerned look.

'Bandits?' Naruto thought as one of them charged at him with a sword in his hand. Naruto easily blocked the attack and landed a punch on his chest, which broke his ribs and sent him flying away as he fell with a bang!

The other two bandits were terrified after looking at the condition of their partner. Enraged, another one of them charged at his. Naruto grabbed his hand, breaking his bones in the process. His sword fell down as Naruto concentrated some chakra in his fingers and punched him on his stomach, resulting in him landing on his face a few yards away.

"Guess I have no other choice!" The last bandit took out a small device from his pocket and aimed it towards Amaru and Mirai.

'Chakra Gun?!' "No don't!" Naruto ran as he immediately blocked the path, while the bandit pressed a trigger, causing a small pellet to be shot, which entered into Naruto's thigh.

"AAARGH!" He screamed as he made some Handsigns, which caused some wooden beams to come out from the ground below the bandit and pin him, restricting him from moving.

"Naruto-sensei!" Mirai quickly ran to her sensei, as he fell to his knees, his legs completely.

"THAT BULLET CONTAINS POISON. SLOWLY IT WILL TAKE OVER ALL YOUR BODY AND WILL MAKE YOU UNCONSCIOUS!" The Bandit screamed as Naruto managed to do a few more hand signs, which crushed both the legs of the Bandit as he screamed in pain. Then, he created a wooden cage around the bandit and compressed it, crushing the entire body of the bandit. After that, Naruto fell on the ground, nearly unconscious. The villagers were petrified at the sight as they surrounded him. Mirai was on the verge of crying as Naruto's head was on her lap.

Amaru couldn't bear his sufferings any longer. Using the little strength she had, she got up and walked towards the crowd.

"Someone please get a medic-nin!" Mirai pleaded as Amaru arrived there.

"Don't worry Mirai, I am a medic-nin. I'll make sure that he's safe…."

She tucked his trousers as she reached the part where the bullet had entered. Carefully, she made an incision that was placed using her scalpel which she had heated, and slowly pulled out the small bullet. Then, she started to suck out the poison using her mouth and spit it out. She did it carefully so that it didn't enter her throat. While she was doing it, she saw that Naruto's eyes were blinking a bit. She blushed, continuing the thing she was doing. It reminded her of the first time when she saved his life like that…..

SMALL FLASHBACK

Naruto got poisoned due to the bite of the fish, which he received while he was trying to save Amaru from drowning. During the process, it was revealed to him that she was actually a girl. Thus, when Amaru was extracting the poison inside Naruto's body through her mouth, she noticed that he was blushing while she was doing it….

FLASHBACK ENDS

"I sucked out most of the poison from him…He is going to be safe." Amare said as she wiped her face and rinsed her mouth with water.

"Thank you so much…." Mirai said as she patted the head of her unconscious sensei.

"He is going to be unconscious for a few hours, tho….." Amaru said with a downcast face.

"Then let's take Naruto-san to the rest house, all of us will help you, after all, you two did so much for the village." A villager said as all the others agreed with him in unison.

"Thank you all," Mirai said as one of them slowly carried Naruto and all of them started marching towards the rest house, followed by Mirai and Amaru.

NIGHT TIME, AT REST HOUSE

'Naruto, stop sleeping like a child! Get up now, it is nighttime.'

Naruto slowly got up from the bed with sleepy eyes. 'Kurama…..doesn't even let me get a good sleep.'

'Open your Eyes, Naruto.'

As he did, he saw Mirai sleeping with her head resting on the bed, while she was sitting on the ground.

'Poor girl. She had to go through a lot today..' he thought as he slowly got up from the bed. Then he picked up Mirai and laid her in the bed and covered her with the blanket.

Then he opened the door as he left the room and entered the garden courtyard.

It was a full moon night. The bright rays of the moon fell on the plants, creating a magnificent sight! There was a cool breeze of air flowing throughout the corridor, overlooking the garden.

"N-Naruto-Kun?" He heard a voice as he saw Amaru, sitting in the corridor, facing towards the garden.

'Apart from her hair, which seems to be quite long, she seems the same….' Naruto thought as he walked up and sat beside Amaru.

"How are you, Amaru?" He asked as she replied, "I am fine, Naruto-Kun."

"Why are you in this Village?"

"After the incident at the Land of Sky, I came to this village, and from that time, I am still here, a simple doctor treating minor illnesses…"

"I see….." Naruto said as both of them looked into each other's eyes.

"Naruto-Kun, do-do you remember that moment when we were falling from the sky?"

"Yes, I remember it very well…."

FLASHBACK BEGINS

Using his Guts Rasengan, Naruto blew off the entire Ancor Vantian, as he started to fall from the sky without any external support.

Immediately, Amaru took out her Manual glider and jumped from the rescue boat while wearing it, to save Naruto from falling to his death.

But she realized that she couldn't catch up to the speed at which Naruto was falling. Using the Glider was futile.

'I won't let you be alone…' she was determined to save him, even if it meant for her to risk her life. Without a second thought, she unbuckled her glider and started free-falling towards Naruto, and grabbed him in mid-air. She hugged him and rested his head on her chest as both of them were falling towards the surface.

"Amaru….You know, Sasuke once asked me, how could I understand people so closely. I was always alone….." Naruto said as she replied,

"I won't let you be alone…." Amaru said as she hugged him tightly as they kept falling …..

FLASHBACK ENDS

The moon was shining brightly as the rays of the moon fell into Amaru and Naruto's faces. She tucked her hand around his arm as she rested her head on his shoulder.

"After you left for Konoha…" Amaru began as Naruto listened to her attentively, "I knew that I would never see you again…Although I made that promise that I won't let you be alone. Thus, I started writing letters for you. But, I never had the courage to send those letters to you. I felt that you would start hating me…."

"The 4th shinobi War came, I always heard the news from the villagers on how you kicked the ass of the enemies. I always felt happy whenever I listened to those stories about you…Time went by, I kept thinking about you every day. Finally, I decided to send a letter to you. I got the courage and wanted to confess my feelings. But on that day, I got the news of your marriage to Hinata."

"I felt empty. I never got to confess my feelings to you and you were also getting married to another woman…I cried a lot that night…."

"I loved- no, I love you Naruto-kun. I fell in love with you, why should I fear? I didn't do anything wrong? I didn't do any robbery? (Got the Reference?)

She started to tear up on his shoulders. "I am jealous of your wife that she got to marry you…..I didn't want to marry anyone since my heart was set for you."

There was silence for a long time. After the long pause, Naruto spoke up, "Amaru, does love always mean marriage?" she looked at him curiously as he continued, "Does love always mean to kiss? Can't love be us looking at the sky together, enjoying the beautiful sight?"

Both of them looked at the sky together, it was full of stars twinkling. She blushed at that beautiful sight. She understood what he wanted to say.

"N-Naruto-Kun, I can't leave alone here…."

"Do you want to travel to Konoha?" He asked her as her eyes lit up and she smiled, "Sure, Naruto-kun."

Suddenly, they heard the door behind them open.

"Sense- what are you two doing?" Mirai asked them as Naruto answered, "Nothing Mirai, just two old friends chatting….."

The village was entirely rebuilt in a few days, thanks to Naruto and Mirai's efforts. After their work was done, they bid farewell to the villagers as well as the village leader, who wasn't present at the village during the Bandits incident. Along with Naruto and Mirai, Amaru also joined them on their way to the hidden leaf.

It took them a day to reach their hometown. The first place where they went after reaching Konoha was the Hokage Towers.

"The Mission went smoothly. The entire village was rebuilt in a week." Naruto said as he handed the mission report to Kakashi.

"Good work, proud of you," Kakashi said as she looked at Amaru who was standing beside Mirai.

"Who is that lady, Naruto? Did you two fall in love and are planning to do another marriage? Hinata won't be happy." Kakashi joked as Mirai let out a laugh while Amaru was madly blushing after hearing that.

"Kakashi. Will. You. Learn. Some. Manners. Or. Else. I. Should. Through. Away. Your. Icha-"

"Calm down Naruto, I was joking!" Kakashi giggled as Naruto let out a sigh. "She wants to be a leaf citizen plus leaf shinobi. She is a chunin-level medic nin. You can give her a post at the Konoha Hospital.

"I see, that will be done, no worries."

"Thanks, sensei. Can you a lot an apartment to her."

"That will be quite hard for now. Can she stay at your house for some months?"

After that conversation was over, they left the Hokage office and arrived at the Uzumaki Household.

"Naruto-kun, I said that I am jealous of your wife. I never said that I hate her."

And from that day, Amaru became an essential part of the Uzumaki Household. Hinata and Amaru got along pretty well. She was never angry with her, instead, she felt sympathized for her. It reminded her of how she used to be. It was only because of Pain's attack, that Hinata was able to confess her feelings to Naruto. Boruto and Himawari also took a liking to their new aunt. Now, she wasn't alone anymore, she was part of a family.

She realized that her love for Naruto, his love for her, was unique. It was more like an unbreakable bond, an urge to be by each other's side, an urge to always support each other. But, it felt more…homely.

SIX MONTHS LATER, THE DAY OF HOKAGE INAUGURATION

The Hokage Inauguration ceremony would begin in a few minutes. Naruto, Hinata, and Amaru entered the Uzumaki Household, only to be greeted by the sight of Boruto lying on the ground unconsciously while Himawari was sitting with a sad face, with a tattered teddy in her head.

"What the hell happened here!" Hinata was shocked as they started to check on them.

"Boruto's blacked out…" Naruto said, "Gentle Fist."

"You mean, himawari did that?" Amaru said as Hinata looked at Himawari with a shocked expression.

"What happened, my princess?" Naruto asked her as Himawari showed him the teddy.

"I see….place that teddy on the floor?" Hima did that as she was told. Naruto put his hands in front of the tattered teddy bear as orange marks started forming around his eyes.

"Sage Art: Universal Restoration," He said slowly as the ruined teddy bear slowly became like a normal toy as it was before.

"Wow! You aree super cool dadd, thanksss!" Hima said as she started hugging the teddy bear.

"And for Boruto.." He placed his hands on Boruto's forehead, channeling a small amount of nature chakra, thus, awakening him.

"Where am I? Dada? Mom? Aunt?" he said tiredly as Hinata hugged him.

"That was cool, Naruto-kun!" Amaru exclaimed as Naruto replied, "That's the power of a true sage."

After that, all of them arrived at the ceremony while Naruto had to go upstairs to meet Kakashi. Afterward, the ceremony took place where Naruto took the mantle of the seventh hokage of the village hidden in the leaves.

"Naruto" Shikamaru said.

"Yes, what's it?"

"I have some important info for you."

"Info?"

"Yes, You see….Amaru…"

"Amaru? What about here?"

"Well, she is an Uzumaki."

"….."

"She's a WHAT?"
