Chapter 3: Kryptonian Bonding
Superman took the first shift to watch the de-age team. Then with his super herding, he heard crying. He flies in to see Conner sitting up crying. He saw Clark. He raises his arms, to signal that he wants to be held. Clark just stood there. Conner sobs became louder.
"Daddy!", he cried out.
Clark looked to see if anyone was out there.
"Please daddy! I'm scared!", he sobbed.
Clark slowly moved over to him. He picked him up slowly.
"It's okay. I'm here."
"You were gone and these mean people taking me", he cried.
"No one was going to take you, while I'm here."
"Daddy, do you hate me?"
"What? Conner, I don't hate you. You're amazing. I know I haven't been a good father to you, but I apologize."
He tucked him back into bed. He kissed his head.
"Goodnight Conner."
"No stay."
"Okay buddy. I'll stay until you fall asleep, then I have to get back to my shift."
He closes his eyes, as Superman watches him sleep.
"I told you he needed a father", he heard Bruce.
He saw him at the door.
"I thought you were watching Robin."
"Diana is watching him."
"It seems like Diana and you have been getting close."
"It's not easy being a father. When I first started out, I had no clue what to do. Sometimes I still don't. You just have to be there for them."
Clark looks at a sleeping Conner.
"I'll do my best from now on."
