Now I did replay a lot of adventure 2 and I realize I kind of messed up Shadow. So what am I going to do?
Make excuses to dodge consistency accountability of course!
And those excuses amnesia and his spinoff morality system. And sure the actual Canon route is actually much closer to his SA2 counterpart. But I personally think I put too much arrogance in him and so I'll try to tone that down for this chapter

After that day with his mission with Roman. Shadow managed to go around sight seeing anywhere nearby Vale
"Hmm. This Vale place is so steampunky looking" Shadow thought as he sat down on top of Junior's bar again looking down on everyone who just happened to pass by "I must see more of it"
Then from behind him he notices Neo has appeared
"Huh? Oh its you again" Shadow said as she silently giggled at him before typing on her phone
(Miss me?)
"Tch. Not much" Shadow said as she pretends to be hurt by that comment before resuming her usually look before typing again
(What are you doing now?)
"What's it to you then?" Shadow said raising a brow
(I can tag along if you want. Maybe see everything?)
"…..alright" Shadow said as she excitedly disguised herself to a more civilian style strikes a slight pose. It took Shadow a second to realize what she wants "Uh…. You look very nice…. Today" she smiles at his compliment even with awkward timing. She could tell he was trying
And to Shadow. She looked good. He isn't sure if being human kicks this sense in but wow he liked her around
"….you know your way around right?" Shadow asked curiously as she nods with a smile as she excitedly grabs his hand and leads him further through the city

Blake found herself amidst a group of White Fang members, surveying the aftermath of a skirmish that had left civilians dead. A cat faunus girl approached her, concern made her cat ears twitch
"Blake, you good?" the cat faunus inquired, her eyes flickering towards the fallen civilians. Blake sighed, her gaze heavy with disappointment as she considered the casualties
"Huh? Yeah, I'm fine," Blake said, trying to shake off the unsettling feeling. The White Fang grunt who had approached them dismissed the casualties callously, justifying their actions with a blunt remark
"Don't worry about them. They would've done the same to us," he said blowing smoke off his gun before striding away. Blake, reluctant but compelled to follow, sighed once more, grappling with the moral complexities of their cause
As they walked, the cat faunus girl voiced her disapproval, expressing a desire for an alternative to their current methods. Blake nodded in agreement, silently echoing the sentiment. The internal conflict weighed heavily on her as they headed towards their next destination
"You should really take more action against those filthy humans," the White Fang member remarked, a sentiment that made Blake grimace. Despite her reservations, she reluctantly got into the car with him and a few other members, driving toward a faunus protest
Upon reaching the event, they merged into the diverse crowd of faunus. The recruiter's speech echoed through the air, rallying support for the White Fang cause. Blake scanned the faces in the crowd, her eyes widening as she spotted a figure with black hair and red highlights, reminiscent of Adam
"!" Blake gasped involuntarily, her heart skipping a beat. The similarities were striking, and for a moment, she mistook the faunus for Adam. However, as their eyes met, she realized it wasn't him. Neo, concealed and watching with suspicion, noticed Blake's reaction and a hint of jealousy in her gaze
"Something you want?" Shadow said with raised brow, breaking Blake out of her momentary stupor. Flustered, she stammered an apology
"Alright then," Shadow replied, a deadpan expression on his face, unaware of Neo's disapproving scrutiny. Another White Fang member approached Shadow, probing his interest in joining
"I guess?" Shadow responded nonchalantly, accepting a card with a number. Blake, still caught in a mix of disappointment and intrigue, watched as Shadow turned to leave. She clung to the hope that he might reappear later, uncertain of the complexities that might unfold in their paths

"So, what other places do you have in mind besides that protest thing? I doubt that's all you want to show," Shadow inquired, his crimson eyes narrowing slightly. Neo, standing beside him with her characteristic smirk, typed a response on her scroll
"Well, because you need a phone, I can get you one. But there is one other place I wanted to see,"
Neo conveyed through her text, her fingers dancing across the screen. Shadow, skeptical but intrigued, raised an eyebrow at the mention of a phone
"A phone?" Shadow questioned, his voice carrying a hint of bemusement. Neo nodded mischievously and sent another message, her sly smile growing more pronounced
"I can't be losing you,"
accompanied by a teasing expression from Neo. Shadow, seemingly unfazed, muttered a nonchalant response
"Tch. Whatever works, I guess..." Neo, undeterred, extended a small box toward him, prompting Shadow to accept it with a quizzical look
"Oh... thanks," Shadow said as he opened the box, revealing a sleek black phone with a sticky note bearing its number. He shot Neo a puzzled glance. "You had me thinking we were going somewhere to get one."
Neo responded with a silent giggle before sending another text,
We are going somewhere. One last place for now. But an extra phone is always convenient."
Shadow, though still perplexed, acknowledged the logic and sighed, resigned to the mysterious journey Neo had planned
"...Well then. Where to next?" Shadow inquired, his curiosity piqued as he prepared for the unexpected destination that awaited him

Velvet and Coco were looked upon as they both sat at a village outpost
"I hope we can go to the clothing chain nearby. Staying in the forest for this long makes will eventually make me sick" thought Coco crossing her arms and leaning on a tree
Velvet on the other hand looks over shoulder "Let me know when any grim start popping up"
They both look at Fox and Yatsuhashi who where scouting the entrance looking around for any obvious danger as Yatsuhashi then takes notice of tracks that look recent and points it out to Fox
"Looks like they've been sniffing recently" Fox said as gestures to a few armed guards to ready their rifles
But from afar some growling hungry Grim were warily waiting to look for a chance to strike as The moon cast an eerie glow over the faunus village as a horde of Grimm wolves descended upon it, their haunting howls echoing through the night
"THEY ARE COMING!" yelled a villager as he and multiple other defenders started aiming their rifles and readying their pitchforks ad panic swept through the village as the Grimm relentlessly attacked, threatening to engulf everything in darkness
"!" said both Fox and Yatsuhashi as they and multiple villagers began firing where the saw the beowolves
"Huh. But time we see some action" said Coco with some amusement as she readied her case before unfolding it to reveal her mingun to unleash it, delivering a barrage of bullets that cut through the Grimm horde "Velvet protect those inside!"
"You got it!" yelled Velvet as she rushed much outward Viviane to take cover as she turns to use her fighting skills against those who have gotten close
Yatsuhashi Daichi's immense blade cleaved through several beowolves creating a path for Fox Alistair to unleash his attacks
"there's so many of them!" yelled a villager qs he fired at another beowolf with his rifle before narrowly getting g slashed before Fox stopped it
Meanwhile from afar… Shadow and Neo can see the commotion from afar, Neo gives a look to Shadow wondering what he intends
"Tch…I'll deal with this.." Said Shadow as Neo smirked as she watched him walk forward as he them zoomed over
over to Velvet unfortunately some Grim has gotten last the defenses and was starting to get overwhelmed when the numbers started to seem endless, she wanted to yelled to her team for help but but were clearly dealing with their own problems
As then a beowolf knocked her back
"Velvet!" yelled Coco worried for her friend as she tried to turn around as they all are unaware something fast coming
Then as a beowulf lunged at velvet ready to tear her to pieces
In almost a blink of an eye Shadow appeared and gave the beowulf a powerful punch . Velvet, startled and amazed, gazed at the mysterious newcomer who had just saved her. And she recognized him from earlier
Shadow then sped to almost effortlessly knock away plenty of the attacking beowolves in a very fast rate
"!" said Coco as a Beowulf got the better of her as Shadow then used his gun to shoot it down before it could touch her making her briefly look toward him and saw that she and Velvet ran into him before
Because of this assurance, Coco was able to fully resume firing upon the beowolves as The air crackled with the sound of her minigun
As Shadow zoomed past Coco and Velvet speeding towards where most of the were as with his expertise he managed to kill many more beowulves making it easier for Fox, Yatsuhashi, and rhe villages to further manage the remaining ones
Coco's grin widened, grateful for the timely intervention
"No better time and such a handsome man to do it" thought Coco as she mowed down the last of the beowolves in her area
It didn't take long for them all to tale out the rest of the Grimm as Shadow finds his gun is now low on ammo
"Damn it. I should've asked about a restock" muttered Shadow inspecting his gun putting it away
Once the battle subsided, both Coco and Velvet turned their attention to their enigmatic savior.
With a sleek, dark appearance and an air of mystery, Shadow's certainly left an impression
"Uh...hey again," Velvet said, personally gaining Shadow's attention. He quickly put two and two together, realizing she was the girl who had bumped into him the previous day
"Hey," Shadow replied, noticing many villagers emerging from hiding
"I want to say thanks for helping me," Velvet said shyly, her cheeks slightly red. Neither of them seemed to notice Coco approaching Shadow at a fast rate
"Well... it's no problem," Shadow said unsure how to reply. Before he could gather his thoughts, Coco wrapped her arms around him in a hug, catching him off guard. He hesitated, uncertain whether to return the hug. Velvet felt a twinge of jealousy upon seeing that
"You've been a big help, handsome. It would've been much worse without you," Coco said with a flirtatious smile.
Neo from afar grimaced at the sight of Shadow being embraced by Coco
Hidden feelings brewed in Velvet's mind. She debated whether to also hug Shadow or not as Coco released him
"Admit it, big boy. You came here just to see me," Coco said and to Shadow's surprise, he felt a slight tinge of pink in his cheeks before shrugging it off
".. I have my own reasons to come by" said Shadow making Coco pout slightly
"Aww keeping secrets already?" said Coco teasingly as Neo really already is keeping herself from getting mad "I thought we knew each other well"
"…" said Shadow trying to think of a response
"I'm just teasing" said Coco slightly giggling to herself as Shadow then thought up a plausible excuse
"Just here to see a friend" said Shadow as he takes a slight retreating form to look for a specific person in the village
"Tsk tsk, I'll see you soon" whispered Coco to herself
Shadow proceeded to look through much of villagers as more have come out of hiding now that the stack is over as he felt a buzz
Sure enough. He eventually sees a dog faunus man in his 40s and recognized he's the man hes looking for as Shadow goes to approach him
"Hey you're the very fast guy! You really did a great job helping out" saod the dog man seemingly excited to see Shadow. Like a dog making a new friend
"Damn it what was I supposed to say?.." muttered Shadow as he then remembered "…I had a bowl of nails for breakfast"
This stunned the dog faunus man
"…without any milk…" Said Shadow as the dog man was now very excited
"Oh you said the thing! You said th-" said the dog faunus man as he covers his mouth to refrain from saying code word as he then ran into his mini house and Shadow can hear him digging through a bunch if drawers
Before running out to Shadow with an envelope
"I mean I didn't think your bowler hat friend would send anyone so soon, much less anyone that most likely kept me alive" said the dog faunus man excitedly
"Its no worries really" said Shadow as the faunus hands him the envelope "Is this everything?"
"Yes it is" said the faunus as Shadow nods to him and turns to leave
"Hey, don't leave just yet," a voice belonging to another person, Shadow turned to find Team CFVY catching up to him
"..yes?" Shadow responded cautiously, feeling slightly cornered by the sudden attention
"Is it okay if we ask you something?" Fox asked while Velvet and Coco seemed eager for his answer
"..sure?" Shadow replied, unsure of what to expect
"You by chance go to any Huntsman academy?" Fox questioned, intrigued by Shadow's impressive skills
"Um, no, I do not," said Shadow
"You kidding? After skills like that, I thought you must've been in one of the other academies" said Fox
"Nope, I don't go to any of that stuff," said Shadow
"Well damn, your skills are amazing though," said Fox as Velvet interjected with a more pressing question
"But will we see you again?" she asked eagerly
"I guess," Shadow responded with a nonchalant shrug, making Velvet smile in response. "So maybe I'll see you all around," he added, turning to take his leave as the others waved goodbye as they watch Shadow disappear into the forest
Shadow eventually catches up with Neo who clearly looked unhappy at him
"What?" said Shadow "What did I do?" as Neo then crosses her arms clearly mad at how Coco and Velvet seemed happy to see him as Neo turns her head
"look if I made you mad" said Shadow still unsure what exactly what he did wrong as Neo turns her head to him
"Neo?" Said Shadow as Neo then rolls her eyes as she then types on her phone
"You can make it up to me , but I'll save it for later"
"…ok then" said Shadow as he then remembered why they came ad he then held out the envelope to her as she takes it and looks back at Shadow "I'll try then"
Neo's smile began to slightly return as she then wraps herself around Shadow's arm as they both as they continued their way

Velvet found herself ensnared by the clutches of boredom, surrounded by the mundane task of tackling homework at her desk. As she glanced around their shared dorm room, she noted the varied activities of her teammates
Coco, engrossed in a fashion magazine, and was scrolling through her phone, blending leisure with focus. Yatsuhashi, true to his nature, had succumbed to the lull of sleep, sprawled comfortably on his bed. Meanwhile, Fox was thoroughly immersed in the consumption of a burger
Yet, amidst the monotony of her studies, Velvet's thoughts drifted towards a particular enigma—Shadow. The mysterious newcomer had intrigued her, and she suddenly realized they never bothered to ask for his name. Unspoken questions lingered, especially the curious inquiry about his relationship status. She suspected Coco might share the same sentiment
Sighing, Velvet sunk lower in her seat, pensively contemplating the coursework before her. Unable to stifle her curiosity any longer, she decided to broach the subject with Coco, while also thinking of Shadow's hedgehog ears
"Hey, Coco?" Velvet ventured.
Coco looked up from her marine, her attention now on Velvet. "Yes?" she replied.
"Why do we have to deal with this amount of homework?" Velvet said, a hint of frustration in her voice
Coco, unfazed, offered her perspective. "Sweetie, I think they intend for us to chip away at it consistently."
"Yeah, but I like the freedom of not having it," Velvet admitted, fiddling with her pen. "Only Yatsuhashi ever seems to relax."As Coco nods in agreement
"Me too. But studying and sleeping is his thing." Said Coco continuing to scroll on her phone
However, their musings on homework were abruptly interrupted when Fox, engrossed in his own world, uttered a perplexing revelation
"Wait, we had homework?" Fox exclaimed, his words a note of surprise that sent Velvet and Coco into a state of shock
"F-Fox… how long have you not done homework?" Velvet questioned, a mix of disbelief and concern evident in her tone. "I know you're blind, but they did give you some, right?"
"Uhh…" Fox said, attempting to navigate the awkward situation.
"Fox!" Velvet's tone edged towards annoyance, pressing for an explanation.
"Look, it's just the math homework, okay!?" Fox confessed sheepishly
"Fox, that's even worse!" Coco chided, facepalming at the dilemma their teammate had unknowingly stumbled into. Fox could only manage a sheepish smile in response, realizing the consequences of his unintentional neglect

Neo and Shadow finally arrive back at Juniors bar and go inside now to see the dance floor flashing lights
"God I feel like those lights would eventually blind me" muttered Shadow as Neo shrugged before letting go of his arm as they both see Roman having a drink talking with the bartender
Neo excitedly skips to Roman holding out the envelope to him
"Good to see you got it. Did you both play nice?" Said Roman in a teasing manner as Shadow then shrugs at him "Close enough" as he then opens the envelope and reads through it and looked pleasantly amused
Shadow can only wonder how much more Roman wants done in such a short time span
"Well since you've done such a good job in such a time span, I think you need a slight break now, Ill call you soon" Roman said "Now let's see…." As he then takes notice of Shadow's gun
"You by chance intend on continuing using that old fashioned thing?" said Roman
"I mean.. I guess if it works" said Shadow as he takes a look at it
"You want me to pull some strings to make I more suitable here?" said Roman "After all I want my favorite people to have pizazz with their weapons"
"I think I'm fine" said Shadow as Roman looked slightly disappointed in his response
"Suit yourself" said Roman "Buuut. If you change your mind I'd be happy to have someone look into it" as Shadow began to think about it for a moment
"Cheers now" said Roman getting up to take his leave "You coming Neo?" as Neo makes a hand gesture that she'll stick around "I'll see you both tomorrow"
After seeing Roman leave, he notices Junior come out of his office and approach him
"So Shadow. You impressed Roman already" said Junior as Shadow takes a seat as Neo then takes a seat next to him
"With simple tasks it might as well be child's play" said Shadow as be sat down upon the bar as Junior looked at Shadow a bit more skeptically
"…what?" Said Shadow
"How did you wind up here?" Said Junior as Shadow turned his head slightly "People with your skills are usually in academies or joining military, or even making a name for themselves out there"
"Well. I'm not under either of those" Shadow
"Maybe, but you just happens to choose to become an intern here" said Junior as then he notices Neo giving him a sly look "ok maybe I can maybe see why you asked… but just listen here kid"
As Junior stared Shadow in the eyes
"I still don't know your angle, but Roman chooses his friends for a reason. I suggest you be wary" said Junior
"And why do you say that?" said Shadow as Neo has a slight annoyed grimaced as she remembered Junior's dislike of Roman
"Roman has always been a hassle to deal with, and whenever he brings in his 'friends' in some make it, some don't" Junior said as the bartender pours himself a drink "That includes my men he from time to time"
"Either way, I've handled myself fine enough" said Shadow as he assumes these 'jobs' won't be too much trouble as Neo regains her smile at his confidence
"…Very well Shadow, I trust you know what you are doing" Junior said as he leaves to go into his office, as he left, Neo ordered two more drinks as she taps Shadow to push one closer to it with a smile
"…again with this?" said Shadow as Neo nodded as Shadow this time did take the cup she gave him a drink that looks to be orange and kinda bubbly
She gives him a wink and began to sip her drink, Shadow then decides to sip his own
"Hey Shadow~" said both Mil and Mel as once again Neo grimaced at the sight of the two of them as they get
"Oh uh…" Said Shadow getting flustered as Neo wasn't going to allow the twins do anything further
"So.. maybe later we can-hey!" said Mil as she was planning distorted Mel
"Ugh. Fine bitch" said Mil as she and Mel walked off with scowls as they go off to do their own thing again
Neo stuck out her tongue for a moment before sitting next to Shadow as he continues to drink from his cup until there was none left
He still wasn't sure what this sensation of alcohol is, but boy looking at some other people in the bar clearly didn't look so good. Particularly the ones that may have had too much to drink in general
He looks in his drink for a moment as then
A familiar elderly face flashed through his mind with no context
"…" Said Shadow as he rubs his eyes to see that its complete normal as he looks at Neo who has already finished her drink, she looks at him curiously as she gives gesture to say 'something wrong?'
"It's nothing Neo, I don't think there's anything to worry about" said Shadow as he puts his cup on the counter and pushes toward the bartender to dump it "You know a place to sit down that isn't here?"
Neo brightened upon hearing that request as she then wraps herself around his arm again as she leads him towards a more quiet corner as she grabbed her phone to start typing

"Sort of, but I think I maybe going crazy from everything I've seen so far" said Shadow as Neo has a slight giggle before she types again
(You haven't seen NOTHING yet ;) but don't worry. If you give me the chance I'll make it worth it)
"Heh. If you so" said Shadow as he gains a slight smile as she began typing again
(Just enjoy the night while you can, we deserve it)
"Hmph. Very well" said Shadow as the two of them sat together as they amuseldly watched whatever bar antics happen to be going on in Junior's bar

"Blake?" said voice, tall and adorned with red and black hair, caught her off guard. The man approached her, his presence demanding attention. She turned her head slightly, acknowledging his arrival
"Something is bothering you," he observed, his concern evident. Taking a seat next to her, he awaited her response
Blake remained silent, her gaze fixed downward, wrestling with her thoughts
"Tell me, my dear, why must you choose to be silent?" he urged, his voice gentle yet insistent
"You know exactly why," Blake muttered, a weight in her words
"Those were accidents. You know I don't intend on the act when it happens," said Adam attempting to comfort echoing through the air
"I don't know," Blake admitted, her voice a whisper. "It's just... I can't deal with that much bloodshed."
Behind his mask, Adam, the man beside her, gave her a stern look. He understood the gravity of their cause and the sacrifices it demanded
"Blake, this is something we need to strive for. It will give the humans a real reason to listen," said Adam, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "I'll try to be better."
She frowned at him, conflicted and burdened by the internal struggle. "I can't deal with this," she muttered, rising from her seat to walk away
Adam, recognizing the need for space, decided it might be better to leave her alone for now. As he stood up, he left to rejoin other White Fang units, contemplating the delicate balance between their cause and the toll it took on those who believed in it

"A promotion?" Shadow raising an eyebrow in curiosity
"You work for me now," Roman continued, gesturing animatedly. "After all, I'm sure you wouldn't want to be stuck at a bar, now would ya?"
"I, uh..." Shadow hesitated, processing the unexpected offer
"And your competence deserves something better," Roman insisted, putting his arm around Shadow and pulling him closer. This unexpected camaraderie caught Shadow off guard. "Why not give me a shot? I promise it's more sightseeing than that drab bar. What do ya say?"
Neo, who had been silently observing, decided to make her presence known. She wrapped herself around Shadow's arm, using her umbrella to subtly adjust his head to face her. Her eyes silently urged him to consider the proposition
After a moment of contemplation, Shadow relented, "Alright. Let's see how it goes," turning to Roman with a sense of curiosity about the new venture
"Wonderful! Cindy is going to love you," Roman said excitedly, revealing another piece of the puzzle
"Cindy?" Shadow inquired, curiosity piqued, while Neo, hearing the name, grimaced in discomfort.
"Oh, yes. Now that you've impressed me twice, managed to blend in without suspicion from the hunters, and even got the dust packages all safe and sound, she's going to see potential in you. Same way I do," Roman explained, shedding light on the mysterious "Cindy."
Neo nudged even closer to Shadow, her discontent evident at the mere mention of Cinder. The atmosphere grew tense as Roman continued, "She is going to like you a lot," delivering the news with a giddy tone
"Albeit... she will like you too much," Neo thought to herself, knowing that Cinder will most likely take a liking to Shadow still not sitting well with her as she imagines what she should do

Emerging from a pool painted in hues of ominous red, a man found himself disoriented in an unfamiliar world. Glancing at his hands, he discovered a drastic change, he was no longer the imposing figure he once was; instead, he stood as a smaller, more fragile human
"Where am I?" he questioned, his confusion evident in his voice. A sense of disbelief washed over him as he surveyed his transformed self. His eyes widened, grappling with the reality of his new form
As the man pondered his altered state, a Beowolf crawled out of the same red pool, casting an unsettling shadow over the scene
"What is this sorcery?" he muttered to himself, observing the Beowolf with a mixture of fascination and wariness. The Grimm creature, after a brief inspection, decided to venture off on its own, leaving the man bewildered and alone
"This can't be real," he mused, wrestling with the absence of his familiar Grimm army. The solitude of his newfound humanity weighed on him, leaving him yearning for the commanding presence he had once possessed over the Black Arms
Suddenly, a voice echoed in the eerie surroundings, catching the man's attention. He spun around to face a stunning yet terrifying woman who seemed to materialize out of the shadows. Her aura exuded power, and the man couldn't help but be captivated by her presence
"Curious..."
her gaze penetrating as she observed him. The man, now identified as Black Doom, couldn't help but feel a shiver down his spine at the intensity of her scrutiny
"It appears a Grimm is more intelligent than I have anticipated"

Sorry for the long ass wait. I don't think the next chapter will lake over a year like this one did. But hey, seeing the love gives me more motivation.
In the meantime while you wait for chapter 3 allow me to tell a small story
This story is partly inspired by a different fic that also stared Human Shadow the Hedgehog, I don't remember much I believe it has been deleted for whatever reason
It had to do with Shadow mainly being a henchman of Roman along with much emphasis on Junior's bar and lots of Deadpool references, and I think the intended romance with Cinder. if any of you by chance happen to know the particular fic I'm talking about. You deserve points
And funny enough. This is my first story to actually receive an update, from here on I think this will be my main focus going forward, while I do intend on updating the others on top… eventually
and now theres the Shadow expansion in Sonic Generations remaster, thats cool as all hell! And i cant wait.
