All right, readers. This is the 55th chapter of this story!

Now, we're gonna be focusing back on Andrew and his friends as they are given the solution to get off the island and head back to Rogueport. And it does involve Cortez.

In this chapter, the crew of the S.S. Flavion decide to go their separate ways, especially those that decide to head back to Rogueport, with Andrew and his six friends planning to go back to the Thousand-Year Door. Also, Andrew gets another e-mail from Peach, which explains what she's been doing all this time and that she's OK.

Additionally, the seven travelers head into Rogueport Sewers after Merlon tells Andrew something urgent and after Bobbery's been given a power-up, where they encounter some members of the Koopa Troops.

Other things that'll be featured include Bobbery's thoughts about traveling through the sewers, encountering the Thousand-Year Door with the others, and a few other things that will occur. How will this go for them? Read and find out now!

BACK ON KEELHAUL KEY:

It didn't take long for everyone on board the Black Skull to reach the dock, where they all got off and went back to the shantytown to celebrate. Andrew, in particular, was satisfied that he took care of the X-Nauts, as were his six friends. And for that, they were given quite the feast for a dinner.

The sailors who were working on board the S.S. Flavion had managed to net up plenty of fish in a fishing net that they cast out into the ocean. With a good fire going, the group was able to enjoy some delicious fried fish for dinner.

Aside from that, there was plenty of Shroom Fry, Healthy Salad, and some Shroom Broth that was made from some of the products that were salvaged from the trip to Keelhaul Key. Goombella was satisfied with eating Healthy Salad while Koops settled with having Shroom Fry.

Flurrie, of course, was delighted to see that some caviar was served from the fish that were caught, and she stuffed her face into it. Bobbery, likewise, went with the fried fish and caviar with salted crackers served to the side, which were also salvaged from the shipwreck.

In addition to that, they had gathered plenty of fruit from the jungle. Aside from the ones that were already there, there was also plenty of pineapple, plums, cantaloupe, and Keel Mangoes.

Needless to say, Yoshiam went to town with those, as he had at least 24 things of fruit that were gathered. Andrew couldn't help but shake his head and smirk as he went with the Shroom Broth and a little Shroom Roast that was also made too.

As for Vivian, she just settled on having a couple of plain Mushrooms and a little bit of Shroom Broth. She wasn't 'really' picky with what she could eat, so that's why it wasn't hard to satisfy her. They were all able to eat dinner with complete satisfaction.

After dinner, Andrew decided to put his Cookbook to good use as he followed the recipe to make a Jelly Ultra. Taking one of his Ultra Shrooms, and one of the couple of jars of Jammin' Jelly from his backpack, he mixed them up together, appropriately, to the point where he successfully made a Jelly Ultra.

While the crewmembers were a little greedy with wanting one of them, Flavio had proclaimed that he was in no need of one of them, admitting that people had paid good money for Jelly Ultras. And it's money that he has already made in his past time as an entrepreneur, so he was good.

Andrew had to tell them sharply that this was only for himself and his friends, and that they couldn't have any. Even though they were upset, they let it go and went about with their business.

It was clear that Goombella, Koops, Flurrie, Yoshiam, Vivian, and Bobbery were satisfied with the treat that Andrew made for all of them to share. They certainly have gotten closer to one another over time. And it would keep growing as more time passes on.

As soon as nighttime fell upon the island, Bobbery decided to talk with Andrew about what they planned to do next when they got back to Rogueport.

Andrew had given him the scoop about how they'll be going to the Thousand-Year Door upon making it back, and travel through the Rogueport Sewers to get there. He also told him how he'll probably get another e-mail from Princess Peach through his Mailbox SP. Bobbery was fascinated by what he's been told.

"Well, this has been quite the fascinating tale that you told me, old boy," Bobbery had admitted. "And may I ask, you've been doing this all this time?"

"That's right," Andrew nodded. "Ever since we've beaten Hooktail and got the first Crystal Star."

"Ah. I see," Bobbery nodded. "Harumph! If you don't mind me asking, who was this beast that is called Hooktail, eh?"

"Well Bobbery, Hooktail was a ferocious dragon that was known for terrorizing the town of Petalburg, and eating the Koopa residents that lived there," Andrew explained. "And yes. Hooktail is as gnarly and disgusting as its actions were."

"Ah. Very well," Bobbery accepted that as an answer. "Seems to me that this Hooktail ruffian was quite the hassle to handle, if I do say so myself."

"Yeah. It was," Andrew then told him. "But Goombella, Koops, and I took care of the dragon. Hooktail will never be able to terrorize villages of Koopas again."

"Very good. Very good, indeed. Capital to know, dear boy," Bobbery exclaimed. "I must say, you've been through quite the trialing journey to have claimed five of the seven Crystal Stars so far, eh wot?"

"That's right," Andrew agreed with him. "And it hasn't been easy either."

Andrew also managed to tell Bobbery about the Shadow Sirens who are working for the X-Nauts, with two of them happening to be Vivian's sisters that she ditched to join Andrew's side. He mostly told him about Beldam; the nasty crone of a hag who is the leader of the group, and has been working with the X-Nauts to ensure that Andrew gets annihilated.

To add to that, he told him how abusive Beldam was to Vivian, which is why he was successful in convincing Vivian to switch sides and travel with him. Needless to say, Bobbery was willing to be on his toes the next time he dealt with Beldam along with the rest of the group.

As for Goombella, she had been busy talking with Cortez in gathering information about his treasure, citing that she was an aspiring archaeologist. 'Apparently', most of the treasure was raided from Rogueport many centuries ago, before he was betrayed by one of his crew.

As a result, he had taken the treasure with him on his Black Skull and sailed off long before he died. He ended up stranded in the Pirate's Grotto on Keelhaul Key after the Skull Gem that powered his ship was stolen from him by one of Flavio's ancestors.

Goombella was fascinated and astounded by what she was told, as she would keep these in her books when she had spare time. For now, she decided to turn in for the night along with Andrew and the rest of their group.

Andrew had used one of his Inn Coupons to stay the night at the Inn that was inside a tent, with a simple bed and all. Tomorrow, they would find a way to get off the island and get back to Rogueport. And of course, as the group they are, all seven of them slept together in the same Inn. They could already see their luck of getting off of Keelhaul Key just within their reach.

The next morning had arrived on Keelhaul Key, and the group of travelers had some breakfast, which mostly consisted of some of the fish and mushrooms that were leftover from last night.

Of course, Yoshiam helped himself to some more fruit that was gathered up from the jungle, and had 26 different kinds of fruit, while the rest of the group settled on what was leftover.

Additionally, with the work of that Cookbook and one of Flurrie's Golden Leaf packs that she still had, Andrew and his friends had some Zess Tea, except for Yoshiam, who settled on having Fresh Juice instead.

After everyone had eaten breakfast, Goombella got word from Cortez that he wanted to see Andrew and his little group, as all of the stranded Toads, save for a few, went to the Black Skull. Andrew was curious by this, as were his friends as they went back to the dock where the Black Skull was, and they came face to face with Cortez.

Andrew couldn't help but notice that those stranded Toads had boarded the Black Skull, as Flavio was also accompanying him and his friends. After Cortez took notice of him, Andrew gave him that curious look as to what this was all about, and the pirate king decided to come out and tell him about it.

"You... You have distinguished yourself in battle, amigo! Based on what I've witnessed yesterday!" Cortez told him. "You are worthy in my eyes!"

"Aww, it was nothing, really," Andrew said modestly.

"Either way, as a sign of respect, amigo, you may use this ship, the Black Skull, anytime you like!" Cortez informed him.

"Well, that is very thoughtful of you," Andrew said sincerely. "And you know what? That 'actually' resolves our little stranded problem. Now we can get off the island."

"I shall not agree with you more, Andrew! Ah, many thanks to you!" Flavio agreed with him. "This ship can get us back to Rogueport in no time!"

"Exactly," Andrew nodded with a smile.

"Let us get away from this coconut pit and back home!" Flavio declared. "Come, everybody!"

"Wow. Gee whiz, I don't believe it," Koops was in awe. "Ummm... Man... Didn't expect Cortez here to allow us a ride on his ship..."

"Well, I'm not surprised," Goombella said slyly. "I had a feeling that Cortez had a softer side. We just had to do some work to get to it, don'tcha think?"

"Yes," Andrew agreed. "Now we can get back to Rogueport and move on from this island."

"Ahhh, I can't wait to get home..." One of the stranded Toads proclaimed. "We've been looking forward to this for SO long!"

"Returning home alive is all the treasure I need!" Another stranded Toad had said. "For real! Now get this boat moving!"

"Well, that is all there is to it, then, am I not correct?" Flavio pointed to the Black Skull. "To sea, Captain Andrew!"

Flavio then got on board the Black Skull, as Andrew was eager to join them along with his friends.

"Well, my darling Andrew, shall we get on board too," Flurrie wondered.

"Of course," Andrew said as he walked over to the ship.

Before the seven travelers could get on board, however, a voice spoke from behind him which got him to stop along with his six friends.

"Ahhhh, Andrew..." That voice belonged to Francesca, who was accompanied by Frankie and Pa-Patch.

"Hmm?" Andrew turned around and gave her his full undivided attention. "What's up?"

"We're going to stay here. It's been tough at times, but I think we like this place!" Francesca declared. "Yes... I think I can make a fine life here with my sweet Frankie."

"All right, if that's what you want, then go ahead," Andrew told them. "We won't stop you."

"Hey, Andrew," Frankie decided to say. "Give my regards to da boss, will ya?"

"I'll be sure to do that," Andrew tugged on his handkerchief awkwardly.

"Yeah, I'm gonna stay here," Pa-Patch told him. "It's a right nice place to live wifout any ghosts, eh?"

"That's fine by me," Andrew then looked towards his friends. "Well guys, looks like they'll do fine on their own here. Shall we get going to Rogueport?"

"Yes. I'm totally with you on that," Goombella smiled. "Let's go, Andrew."

"Yeah..." Koops agreed with him. "Let's go, Andrew."

"Come now, Andrew," Flurrie nodded. "Let's go."

"Yeah," Yoshiam grinned and gave him a thumbs up. "Let's break out, Presto."

"I think it's a good idea too," Vivian proclaimed. "Let's leave, Andrew."

"Yes, very good," Bobbery said. "Let's be on our way, hm?"

"Great," Andrew walked towards the Black Skull. "Let's get on board."

With that, all seven of them got onto the Black Skull. Cortez then made sure that everyone who was going back to Rogueport was on board, and they were all raring to set sail for Rogueport again.

"Ready, amigos?" Cortez had to double-check.

"We're ready as we'll ever be," Andrew confirmed.

"Very well," Cortez then declared. "Cast off!"

With that, the Black Skull turned around and set sail for Rogueport, with Francesca, Frankie, and Pa-Patch seeing them off as they sailed away from the island. Once they were gone, they left the dock and went for the shantytown to get settled in and treat the island like it was their new home...

Surprisingly, to Andrew, it didn't take half as long for the Black Skull to reach the harbor of Rogueport as the S.S. Flavion had to reach Keelhaul Key. He had assumed that some of the magical force in the Black Skull thanks to the power of the Skull Gem might've had something to do with it.

Regardless, Andrew felt some relief when he saw the town of Rogueport in the distance. Part of him had to admit, it was great to be back there after being stranded for several days. It was on full display with the sigh that he let out as he stared off at it.

I'd never thought I'd say this, but I'm glad to be back in Rogueport. Andrew thought at this as he smiled. And to think that we only have two more Crystal Stars to find. I hope the next one isn't as strenuous as being stranded on a remote island...

Andrew knew the truth, Rogueport was still an unsafe town to live in. But he's been so many stops here for a while, that he's grown pretty used to having to come by this rundown burg every so often. After all, all of his luggage was still at the Rogueport Inn and being kept under safe care by the innkeeper herself.

As the Black Skull was approaching Rogueport, Andrew was brought out of his thoughts by Yoshiam, who had tugged him on the shirt for his attention.

"Hey, Presto," Yoshiam started. "You seem ready to find the next Crystal Star. Are you wondering where the next Crystal Star could be?"

"Yes. I am wondering about that," Andrew had to rub his chin. "Let's hope that the next stop isn't as tedious as getting stranded on an isolated island. I'm glad that I'll never have to be put through that again."

"Especially since you didn't get sick this time," Vivian commented, joining them along with Bobbery. "Wherever the next Crystal Star might be, I'm sure you'll be able to get it. You are amazing, Andrew."

"I know. And thanks for that," Andrew smiled. "This has been quite the adventure that I've been on so far, especially with you guys."

"Aye. I assume that it has been," Bobbery agreed. "And I take it that there might be more danger ahead of us that involves more blokes and hooligans that might stand in our way. Regardless, we should be able to get through it all, old boy."

"I don't doubt that for a second," Andrew said. "We've gotten through quite a bit so far, and there isn't anything that we can't handle now."

"You said it, Presto," Yoshiam gave him a thumbs up.

"All right, guys," Goombella got their attention as she was accompanied by Koops and Flurrie. "If you guys are about done, we should be ready to disembark once we reach the harbor. Might wanna get all our belongings and make sure we aren't forgetting anything, don'tcha think?"

"Right," Andrew nodded. "I got my backpack with all of my belongings in it, including the Sapphire Star."

"That's great, Andrew," Koops said. "Guess we should get ready for when we make it to the harbor."

"I do believe you're right. We mustn't keep ourselves waiting. We shall get ready to head on out," Flurrie agreed. "Shall we get ready to set foot onto Rogueport again, Andrew?"

"Of course," Andrew turned around as his six friends were ready to disembark. "Let's get ready."

And so the seven travelers got ready to get off the Black Skull, along with Flavio, George T, Frank T, and the other stranded Toads that have been rescued and brought back to Rogueport. There was no doubt that they were also glad to be back in Rogueport too...

IN ROGUEPORT:

As soon as the Black Skull pulled up to the harbor, everyone who had boarded it got off. Flavio was smelling the fresh air that he thought he'd never be able to smell again. 'Needless to say', he was happy to be back.

"At last we return, slathered in glory, to my hometown: sweet Rogueport!" Flavio declared as he was accompanied by Andrew and his six friends. "Of course, it is only because of my courageous efforts that we return at all, ah?"

"Yes, Flavio," Andrew nodded. "We couldn't have gotten back with your suggestion of using this boat and for your negotiations with Cortez as well."

"But, of course, you all know that, and know it well..." Flavio nodded at that.

"Yes, yes, Master Flavio," one of the former stranded Toads had told him. "But now, please excuse us. Perhaps chance will bring us all together again someday."

Before Flavio could say anything else about this, all of the Toads ran off on him. George T and Frank T had decided to remain at the harbor, while the rest of the stranded Toads went up the stairs and headed back to their rightful homes. Flavio was not impressed by this as he was gawking and twitching his left eye.

"Wh-What? Hey!" Flavio tried calling out to them as he asked. "Where are... Y-You're all leaving already? Ah..."

"Looks like your crew had left you hanging bone dry, haven't they," Andrew had to comment on that.

"Yes. Well, that was harsh," Flavio then turned to face Andrew. "Such is life, Captain Andrew. You are anxious to continue your 'own' adventure also, ah?"

"That's right," Andrew nodded. "We still have two more Crystal Stars to obtain. So we also must go on our 'own' way."

"Very well," Flavio sighed. "One day you may surpass the 'great' and 'fabulous' Flavio in greatness and fabulousness. It is not likely, I assure you, but you should, how you say, shoot for the stars, ah?"

"I guess so," Andrew shrugged. "We've made a lot of progress so far. And we hope to continue to do so, too."

"Ah, well, if ever you should reach the pinnacle, remember to shout 'FLAVIO' to the wind!"

"I'll try to remember that," Andrew rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.

"That reminds me, amigo..." Cortez decided to get Andrew's attention again. "If you ever get the urge to return to Keelhaul Key, just say the word, OK? I will send you to the island faster than the fastest winds blow, comprende?"

"That would be great," Andrew smiled. "And thanks again for getting us back to Rogueport, Cortez."

"Yes, yes, you giant skull, you," Flavio retorted as he rolled his eyes. "Your time in the spotlight is done. Get over yourself."

After he said that, he cleared his throat and decided to announce it to Andrew and his friends. "AHEM! Well, my adoring fans have gone, so I will be excusing myself now, as well."

"That's fine with us," Andrew told him. "I guess we'll be seeing you."

"If you see me in town, I would permit you to say hello to me," Flavio told him before giving his farewell. "May we meet again, ah?"

"Right. Will do," Andrew waved to him. "Take care, and thanks again, Flavio. So long."

After Flavio gave him one last wave of the hand, he walked away from the dock and went up the stairs to the Rogueport Plaza. He was most likely going back to Podley's Bar where he was before setting off to Keelhaul Key.

"Well guys," Andrew turned to face his friends as soon as Flavio was gone. "You know what this means, right?"

"Yup. We probably oughta go, too, don'tcha think?" Goombella knew what he was talking about. "Let's go to the door."

"Let's head down to the door, huh?" Koops remarked in agreement.

"I suppose we should go, too," Flurrie pointed forward. "Let's make for the door."

"Let's break out of here and head for the door!" Yoshiam jumped eagerly.

"Yeah," Vivian nodded meekly. "Maybe we should go to the door."

"Well, well, well, old boy..." Bobbery remarked. "I should think we'd head for that door at this point."

"That's exactly what I had in mind. Let's go," Andrew then started walking away from the docks with his friends behind him. "And I'm happy to know that you'll be traveling with us to find the last two Crystal Stars, Bobbery."

"Believe me, Andrew, the pleasure's all mine," Bobbery said as they walked off. "A little traveling with you folks to get the last of the Crystal Stars ought to be just the thing to help ease my soul and spirit. And would most likely make my dear Scarlette proud of my achievements."

"You know something, Bobbery," Andrew had to smile at him. "I think she already is."

"Uh-huh. Indeed. It would be most likely the case," Bobbery agreed.

"Yeah," Andrew said before moving on. "So let's get to the door. After that, we'll find the next location, and then we-"

Andrew was unable to finish his sentence as he heard his Mailbox SP go off. Bearing a smirk on his face, Andrew took it out as he knew who that was.

"Well, guys? You know what this means, right?" Andrew wondered as he opened it up.

"That's your ring, Andrew!" Goombella beamed. "It must be an e-mail from Princess Peach! Check it!"

"Think it's an e-mail from Princess Peach or what?" Koops took a guess.

"Those dulcet tones!" Flurrie expressed in a joyous tone. "That dear Princess Peach has sent you an e-mail!"

"That's gotta be an e-mail from Princess Peach!" Yoshiam whooped.

"That must be an e-mail from Princess Peach!" Vivian said shyly.

"On your toes, old bean!" Bobbery seemed intrigued. "That can only be an e-mail from Princess Peach!"

"There's no doubt about that," Andrew opened up his Mailbox SP. "I'll be glad to read to you guys what she wrote to me."

With that, Andrew looked at the message and read it aloud to his friends. The e-mail that Peach sent to him said the following.

'Dear Andrew,

I have good news! I don't know where I'm being held, but there's an odd computer called TEC here.

By cooperating with this TEC, I've managed to obtain some of these [fiends'] data. TEC is currently analyzing it...and as strange as it may sound, I trust him.

Once his analysis is done, I should be able to provide you with details of their plans.

I'll e-mail you again once I learn more. Be good, OK?'

-Princess Peach-

"Huh? A computer named TEC," Andrew was quickly able to piece it together. "Oh, so that explains how Princess Peach found out that the treasure was the spirit of an ancient demon. Wow. I'm impressed with how she's been handling things."

"Yeah! Wow!" Goombella couldn't help but beam in a preppy manner. "That Princess Peach is so 'totally' awesome! Go, girl!"

"Whoa! She's good!" Koops blinked before yelling happily. "They oughta call her Super Peach!"

"You know something, Koops? I think there might be a time when she'll be referred to as Super Princess Peach," Andrew shared before doing a double take at what he just did. "Hey, wait a minute!"

"Omigosh! Andrew!?" Goombella caught onto this very fast. "Did... Didja just...?"

"Yes. I did. And it was by accident," Andrew nodded to confirm it. "I didn't mean to make that reference so soon..."

"Well still, mercy me!" Flurrie had to boom excitedly. "That princess is quite the go-getter, hmm?"

"Yeah! Rock ON!" Yoshiam threw the goat with both hands up. "That princess is pretty rad, huh?"

"She sure is," Andrew smiled. "But what I'm wondering is if she's able to do all of this stuff, how come she gets herself kidnapped all the time instead of going on her 'own' adventures? Does she like being kidnapped? Or does she just love being rescued by Mario? Either way, I'll remind you guys that Princess Peach is Mario's girl. I'm just doing him a favor by rescuing her. That's all."

"Well, either way, Andrew, I'm impressed," Vivian decided to voice herself. "That princess is so courageous!"

"Great Goobery!" Bobbery decided to add. "That princess is no one to be trifled with!"

"Yup. And it looks like we better get to work too," Andrew motioned them to follow. "Come on. Let's get to the Thousand-Year Door."

All six of them nodded as they left the dock and headed for the stairs. As they were doing so, Andrew took notice that the sailors working at the harbor were looking in his direction, just like when he first came to Rogueport.

Unlike when he first came here, however, they weren't giving him cold looks. Rather, the looks that they were giving him showed that they now have a sign of respect for him. They must've heard about his journey on Keelhaul Key and how he rescued all of those stranded Toads from that island.

And that he was successful in forming a permanent truce with Cortez; the pirate king himself. Not to mention that he was accompanied by the legendary Admiral Bobbery too. Andrew thought this was a nice change for once.

Make no mistake, Rogueport still had a long way to go before it could become a better place. But the looks he had been given was a start at least.

It just goes to show how one adventure would earn me the respect of some of these sailors. Andrew thought in a musing manner. It's better than receiving cold looks by a mile. That's for sure...

Keeping that thought to himself, the seven travelers went up the stairs and went through the Rogueport Plaza, with the ambition to head to the pipe in the East Side of Rogueport so they could make their way to the Thousand-Year Door...

As the seven of them cut through the plaza, Bobbery felt the need to bring up something with Goombella about something that she told him earlier.

"Ahem, a thousand pardons for a second, Goombella," Bobbery started. "But I must ask you something. Once we get down finding out the location of that sixth Crystal Star, will we head back to this Professor Frankly fellow's house, as you may have told me earlier, eh?"

"That's right, Bobbery," Goombella smiled. "We show Professor Frankly the map, and he'll tell us where the next location that we need to go to. Andrew and I have 'totally' been doing it all this time. Isn't that right, Andrew?"

"That's right, Goombella," Andrew nodded. "Professor Frankly has lived next door to you all this time, Bobbery. Surely you must have heard about him, right?"

"Aye. That I have," Bobbery proclaimed. "I never met the 'gent' in person, but I can safely assume that he is one fine chap if I do say so myself. And I can hardly wait to meet him and give him my greetings. Provided that we drop that Crystal Star off at the door first, if you may."

"Yeah. Don't worry. You'll get to meet him," Andrew told him. "Being Goombella's archaeology professor at the University of Goom, she is the only one who truly knows him from experience."

"You betcha!" Goombella winked at him. "C'mon! Let's not keep the door waiting!"

"Right," Andrew nodded as the seven of them headed towards the East Side of Rogueport.

As soon as they entered the East Side of Rogueport, Andrew noticed something peculiar in front of him. Merlon was standing in front of his house this time as if he were waiting for Andrew to show up.

Seeing this as somewhat odd, Andrew decided to go and get his attention while approaching him.

"Hey, Merlon. What's going on," Andrew started to ask him. "Why are you outside? Have you been waiting for me to show up?"

"Yes! What impeccable timing," Merlon told him. "Yes, this was destined..."

"What it is?" Andrew looked curious about this.

"When I consulted my star charts, I saw a portentous sign for you, Andrew..." Merlon explained.

"It did?" Andrew raised an eyebrow.

"It went '[thusly]'..." Merlon went into further details about it. "'In the house of the dragon that flew through the air... Beyond the reversible stair... Near the empty black chest that cursed you...lies a clue to help your allies learn...'"

"Huh?" Andrew tilted his head before thinking to himself. He's not talking about Hooktail Castle, where I got that curse that allows me to go into Paper Mode, is he?

"I have no idea what it means, unfortunately..." Merlon exclaimed. "But I 'have' no 'doubt' of its importance as a sign for you and your friends."

"Well, we appreciate that you told us this, Merlon," Andrew said.

"And if you figure out this mystery, come and tell me immediately," Merlon advised him.

"OK. We'll look into this mystery later when we don't have anything to do," Andrew suggested since they were here. "For now, since we're here, I'd like to give three more Shine Sprites to power up Bobbery here."

"Very well," Merlon nodded. "Please step into my home."

Merlon entered his house with the seven travelers following right behind him. Bobbery, for his part, was impressed that Andrew was giving him this generous token so soon before they went to the Thousand-Year Door.

"Andrew, dear boy. Let me just say that I hereby appreciate this little token that is being gifted to me," Bobbery informed him.

"It was my pleasure, Bobbery," Andrew gave Merlon three Shine Sprites. "There you go, Merlon. Three more Shine Sprites."

"Very good," Merlon nodded as he pocketed the Shine Sprites. "Please allow me to do the honor again."

Andrew only obliged as he stepped back with his friends except for Bobbery, who just stayed in the center where the others stood when they were given their power up previously.

Then just like the previous times that Andrew had done it with his five other friends, Bobbery felt the room spinning in circles as the crystal ball was floating in the air until Bobbery felt that magic force enter his body.

In a matter of moments, he suddenly felt that he had just gotten stronger in handling his exploding tendency. He also felt like he was twenty years younger as a result.

"Well, I'd say, that was rather fascinating. In all seriousness, dear boy, that was a very smashing experience, if I must say," Bobbery admitted proudly. "Why, I feel like a whole new Bob-omb already! I am very much charmed by this gift that has been bestowed upon me just now! Andrew, old boy, you never cease to impress the like of this sea bomb, if I do say so myself."

"That's what I like to hear," Andrew smiled. "And I suppose that you like it, right?"

"Indeed. It is quite marvelous," Bobbery proclaimed honestly. "Many thanks for making this possible, dear boy. In return, I shan't let you down in our next brawl against whichever bloke tries to make a mockery out of you."

"I'm glad that you liked it, Bobbery," Andrew then looked at Merlon. "Anyway, Merlon, what new move did Bobbery just learn?"

"Well Andrew, Bobbery had just learned a new move called Hold Fast," Merlon explained to him. "With Hold Fast, Bobbery can blast himself in the face of those who try to unleash direct-close-combat attacks on him."

"Hold Fast, hmmm? Well, that seems interesting," Andrew rubbed his chin. "Sounds like something that could be useful when dealing with Fuzzies or any other blood-sucking parasites."

"Yes. I daresay, that it could prove to be useful in those predicaments," Bobbery had to admit. "Well, I intend to keep my word and provide all of the assistance I can give to you when dealing with ruffians and hooligans alike. Sounds like a brilliant plan, eh wot?"

"Sure is," Andrew nodded. "And I look forward to it too."

"Ahem! Since you've powered up all of your friends that are with you so far," Merlon then went ahead and directed them to the door. "Then you may go. Of course, feel free to come back after you've solved the mystery of that portentous sign that I gave to you, OK?"

"We'll be sure to do that. Thanks, Merlon," Andrew walked towards the door and opened it up. "Come on, guys. We got the Rogueport Sewers to go to."

All six of them nodded as they followed Andrew out of Merlon's house as they headed for the green pipe. All seven of them jumped on top of it before they went down, with the ambition to head straight into Rogueport Sewers and make their way to the Thousand-Year Door...

IN THE ROGUEPORT SEWERS:

As soon as the seven travelers entered the sewers, Andrew decided to take a detour first by heading to the room that had that pipe that led straight to Petal Meadows.

No, it wasn't to look into the mystery involving Hooktail Castle that Merlon brought up. It was about the boat panel that Andrew noticed there earlier before he and Goombella started their first adventure in the Petal Meadows.

Just coming this way was enough to get Goombella to raise her eyebrow, as well as get Koops to sport a confused look, while the rest of them remained puzzled by this.

"Hey, Andrew? Not that I, y'know, don't trust you and all," Goombella started to ask. "But why are you taking us this way? You're not bringing us to Hooktail Castle, are you?"

"Yeah," Koops agreed. "We're not going to Hooktail Castle so soon, are we?"

"What are you talking about? I'm not having us go to Hooktail Castle," Andrew informed them. "I came here because I recalled seeing something earlier that reminded me of those Boat Panels that we ran into in Pirate's Grotto."

"I beg your pardon," Flurrie wondered in confusion. "Whatever do you mean, dearie?"

"I'll show you," Andrew then found the Boat Panel right where it was before. "Ah-HA! I knew that I would find it again! Now I'm gonna check this out."

Andrew then stood on the Boat Panel, which started glowing. After he put plenty of focus into it, he transformed into a paper boat and he started sailing through the water with his six friends watching him in amazement.

"Whoa. Presto must've known that was there," Yoshiam proclaimed. "Maybe it'll lead him to something cool and useful for us! That would be rad!"

"Oh! Maybe it'll lead him to something important that he's after," Vivian gasped with her right hand over her mouth as she saw what was ahead at the other Boat Panel. "Look!"

They all looked as Andrew headed to that one Boat Panel which he then focused hard enough to get lifted out of the water and returned to normal. In front of him was a Shine Sprite, that was in a clear yellow block.

"Great Goobery! The old boy might've been onto something after all," Bobbery had to admit. "He's found himself another Shine Sprite! Why, Andrew was quite the resource old bean for finding something like that. Truly the cats meow in my book, if I do say so myself!"

With that, Andrew saw the Shine Sprite for himself, as he then jumped and punched the block, causing the Shine Sprite to fall into his hand. He then put it in his backpack with the other 8 Shine Sprites that he still had.

Uh-huh. Just as I thought. Andrew thought as he stepped onto the Boat Panel, which started glowing again, and he then turned into a paper boat again.

After a few moments, he went back over to where the others were, as he floated into the air and turned back to normal while standing on the Boat Panel.

"Well, that takes care of that," Andrew dusted his hands.

"Omigosh! Andrew, how...how didja know that was there?" Goombella had to ask.

"I didn't," Andrew said simply. "But the Boat Panel looked pretty suspicious, so I knew that it would lead to something important. And it turns out that it did."

"Wow... Man, that was still an amazing fine," Koops had to agree. "Ummm... Think we'll find anything else like that down here?"

"I sure hope so," Andrew nodded. "Now, why don't we head to the Thousand-Year Door?"

"By the stars, you're right, Andrew," Flurrie agreed. "We shan't keep that door waiting any longer! We must make haste!"

"You said it, Presto!" Yoshiam pointed forward. "Let's go find the location of that next Crystal Star!"

"I'm also wondering where it could be," Vivian said nervously. "Who knows where the map will send us next?"

"I daresay, I must concur with you there, old boy," Bobbery said. "We may as well head to the door that has been spoken of in many tales over, and so I shall see it for myself, and we'll find out where to go next. We better soldier on, pronto!"

"Right," Andrew nodded as his friends followed. "Let's get going."

The seven of them left the room and headed to the pipe that was behind that barred fence, which they squeezed through thanks to Paper Mode. Once they were on top of the pipe, they went downward and came out on the floor below.

As soon as they got a hold of themselves, Andrew sensed something suspicious in the air, and he noticed that they weren't entirely alone there.

"Hey guys," Andrew had to warn them. "I'm sensing something suspicious. Be on guard."

"Wuh?" Goombella was a little confused by this. "What are you referring to?"

Andrew saw what it was for himself as he then pointed below and ahead of them.

"Take a look for yourself," Andrew instructed, which they did.

They then saw that the sewers were now harboring some Hammer Brothers, Koopatrols, and Magikoopas. All of which are known members of the Koopa Troops, or King Bowser's army.

"Yeah. Those happen to be the highest-ranked members of the Koopa Troops," Andrew exclaimed. "Koopatrols. Hammer Brothers. And Magikoopas."

"Jeepers. That's just 'totally' nuts," Goombella shivered. "What are they doing here? They weren't here before!"

"Gee, ummm... They look suspicious," Koops then had to ask. "Think maybe they're with Bowser? And could Bowser be nearby?"

"Honestly, Koops, I wouldn't be too surprised," Andrew exclaimed. "After all, Bowser did come out of nowhere in Glitzville while looking for the Crystal Stars."

"My, my! I do believe you're right, Andrew," Flurrie gasped in agreement. "Why, that oversized boor may as well know that we're still looking for them! That might be why he has his soldiers patrolling the sewers, so they can alert him! 'Dearie' me, that's one thing I cannot fathom! That would be unfortunate."

"Well, let me see them! I'll give 'em a piece of my mind," Yoshiam threatened them.

"Gosh, Andrew. I hope Bowser doesn't try to stop us," Vivian said anxiously. "That's the last thing we need right now, with my sisters and the X-Nauts still trying to collect the Crystal Stars and obtain that legendary treasure."

"Harumph! Why, those cads wouldn't know what hit 'em if they dare to try to heckle with us like a couple of scallywags," Bobbery huffed. "Shall we continue to shove off Andrew, old boy?"

"Yes. We should," Andrew nodded. "And these guys won't be able to stop us. Let's roll!"

And so, Andrew and his friends continued onward, dispatching any Koopatrol, Hammer Brother, or Magikoopa that stood in their way. As they were traveling, Bobbery couldn't help but observe the Rogueport Sewers in amusement.

Truth be told, Bobbery had only traveled through the Rogueport Sewers only a few times in his life. He used it only because he needed to deliver cargo to a nearby town not set on the map in regards to being able to arrive there by boat.

He also had to take a good whiff of the salt water that was flowing in the one room that had that pipe leading to Petal Meadows. It was 'definitely' the ocean water that he was most fond of on the surface. He has sailed over it many times over.

Bobbery could only imagine why he hadn't taken in the scenery of the Rogueport Sewers sooner. Was it because he was too busy delivering cargo to another town not possible of arriving to by boat? Or was it because he preferred traveling by the sea, on a boat?

Whatever the reason might be, he 'really' liked what he was witnessing in the Rogueport Sewers. And he could only hope that the Thousand-Year Door that he has heard so much talk about in many tales of the legendary treasure underneath Rogueport. Needless to say, this was one experience that he shall never forget.

By Blubbery's blotches. I daresay, this place is remarkable. Now I can see why Goombella loves archaeology so much, and what it is that fascinates her... Bobbery thought. Why, I am more than positive that the Thousand-Year Door that I've heard about in several tales of the past shall be as smashing as it is described. Therefore, I will see to it that I will look forward to seeing it up close for myself...

Keeping that thought to himself, Bobbery kept his spirits up high as the seven of them went down another pipe that led deeper into the Rogueport Sewers. After dispatching a Koopatrol and a Magikoopa, Andrew walked right to the jump pad that he had unveiled before with his Super Bat.

From there, he jumped onto it and sprang up to the ledge of the path that led to the Thousand-Year Door. Goombella, Koops, Flurrie, Yoshiam, Vivian, and Bobbery followed Andrew's lead as they made it to the ledge that the muscular man was standing on.

Upon seeing that his friends were with him, Andrew motioned them to follow right behind him.

"Come on, guys. This way," Andrew instructed them. "The Thousand-Year Door is right up ahead."

They all obliged as Andrew headed to the Thousand-Year Door, with his Goomba, Koopa, Wind Spirit, Yoshi, Shadow Siren, and Bob-omb friends following right behind him. Bobbery was going to be in for the biggest surprise of a lifetime once he saw the door for himself. That was a given...

AT THE SITE OF THE THOUSAND-YEAR DOOR:

In no time at all, the seven travelers have made it to the Thousand-Year Door. Of course, Andrew, Goombella, Koops, Flurrie, Yoshiam, and Vivian were just staring at its sheer beauty. They've already seen it before, and so they weren't too surprised to have to see it again for themselves. Especially since nothing has changed since they've last been here.

Bobbery, on the other hand, was 'absolutely' astounded by what he was seeing. This was the supposed ancient door that he had heard about in many tales. He was just amazed to see that it 'actually' exists.

"By Chowderton's cheeks. I do not believe my eyes," Bobbery had to comment. "This is the Thousand-Year Door that has been told in thousands of tales that I've heard about on the water in days long past. And it's real."

"That's right, Bobbery," Andrew nodded. "This is the real deal. Isn't it just as impressive as it was described in the tales that you've heard about in the past?"

"Aye. It is as amazing as it had been spoken of," Bobbery confirmed. "Andrew, dear boy? This is truly a remarkable sight to be seen. Therefore, I shall make my best effort to travel with you fine folks to find the remaining Crystal Stars that are still out there. It's been an honor to see this door for myself."

"No kidding, Bobbery," Goombella had to smirk. "The rest of us know how you felt. We were all amazed to see it for ourselves. Andrew and I felt the same way when we saw the Thousand-Year Door for the first time with Professor Frankly."

"Man, weren't we all impressed by it?" Koops had to utter. "This is something else..."

"My, my! It certainly hasn't changed in the slightest," Flurrie commented. "I do believe that it shan't ever stop being delightful. It is deserving of the state of awe that we gave it when we first set our sights on it."

"Yeah! It is wicked awesome," Yoshiam cheered. "We can't deny that!"

"They're right," Vivian agreed. "It is quite an amazing-looking door, isn't it?"

"That it is," Bobbery then looked up at Andrew. "Now, old boy. I suppose that you know what must be done now, eh?"

"Yes," Andrew approached the pedestal. "We better get this done with so we can see where the next Crystal Star is."

All of his friends encouraged that as he jumped onto the pedestal and then stood in the center of it, with Goombella, Koops, Flurrie, Yoshiam, Vivian, and Bobbery accompanying him from behind.

"All right! You know what must be done now, right?" Andrew asked them.

"Sure do," Goombella nodded with a smirk. "Time to take out the Crystal Star, Andrew!"

"Yeah," Koops agreed. "Ummm... Go on and hold it over your head, Andrew."

"Well my dearie Andrew," Flurrie encouraged. "Do hold up that precious Crystal Star! "

"That's right!" Yoshiam beamed. "Go and bust out that Crystal Star, Presto!"

"Well Andrew," Vivian commented shyly. "Get out that Crystal Star."

"Andrew, old boy, you know the drill by now," Bobbery instructed. "Do take out that Crystal Star, and hold it up over your head."

"With pleasure," Andrew nodded towards the six of them as he took out the Sapphire Star from his backpack and held it over his head.

It was then that the same light from the past several times surrounded the center of the platform, as the Sapphire Star Andrew had over his head vanished into several sparkles.

Then the same diagram-like thing appeared surrounding the pedestal, as the Sapphire Star appeared in the circle that was next to the one that the Ruby Star was in. As was the case with the Diamond, Emerald, Gold, and Ruby Stars, it was shown rotating in place as the Magical Map floated out of Andrew's pocket again.

Then just like before, the map unfolded itself. Andrew, Goombella, Koops, Flurrie, Yoshiam, and Vivian watched in anticipation, knowing exactly what was going on. Bobbery, meanwhile, was watching in amazement, as he looked forward to seeing where the next Crystal Star would be.

Then, just like the first five times, the map rose in the air towards the door, right above Andrew as a bright flashing light occurred, where it had engulfed the map 'entirely' as something was happening to the map. A new location was just about to appear on the map.

And it was popping up from what was seen on the map above. Specifically, it was a location that was located in a rather big city just to the far east of Rogueport, right below where Petalburg was located.

Appearing right in front of where the fountain was located was a rather big and ancient-looking sanctum of some kind. Regardless, their next location was destined to be a rather big, rich, and busy-looking city, not unlike the floating city of Glitzville. Needless to say, it would be different from the other places they've already been to for sure.

Once the sanctum appeared on the map in front of the fountain, something else appeared on the map right in front of it. It was revealed to be the sixth Crystal Star; the Garnet Star.

Andrew then felt a special force overcome the map as he held his hands up. The location had officially appeared on the map. The lights died down as the Sapphire Star vanished into thin air, and the map itself floated back down, with Andrew catching it in his right hand.

As was the case with the other four Crystal Stars, Andrew can now summon the Sapphire Star whenever he may need it, just by using the Magical Map.

Once he grabbed it with his right hand, he brought it down and unfolded it to look at the new location on the map.

"All right, guys!" Andrew motioned his six friends to come up. "The new location has appeared on the map, along with the sixth Crystal Star."

Goombella, Koops, Flurrie, Yoshiam, Vivian, and Bobbery all went up onto the pedestal and looked at it for themselves.

"Wowsers! There's the next Crystal Star!" Goombella beamed while blinking.

"That's right," Andrew nodded in agreement as he observed the sixth Crystal Star. "Hey, it's red-orange too. Does that mean it's Garnet?"

"Yes! Yes! It's called the Garnet Star!" Goombella cheered. "You're 'totally' getting the hang of it. I dunno why you'd need me to tell you this anymore."

"Probably because I'm used to it," Andrew said. "And because I like having you tell me this."

"Awwwww, Andrew! Quick making me blush, will ya?" Goombella was blushing. "Seriously. You're sweet."

"I do what I can," Andrew said with a smile. "Anyway, it looks like the next place is in a big city somewhere."

"Wow," Koops then looked at it. "Gosh... That's just south from where Petalburg is..."

"Why, I do believe that is quite the festive city," Flurrie admitted before noticing something about it. "Though I can't quite help but feel this strange sensation that I've been to that place before. It's as if that place is very familiar to me."

"Yeah, Flurrie," Andrew agreed with her. "It looks familiar to me too."

After looking at it for a few moments, Andrew just shrugged and looked at his friends. If anything, Professor Frankly will tell them where this location is exactly.

"Well guys, since that's all set, you know what we need to do now, right?" Andrew queried.

"Yes! C'mon!" Goombella encouraged. "Let's go talk to Professor Frankly!"

"All right!" Koops agreed. "Let's go see the professor."

"Come, now!" Flurrie was ready to get going as well. "Let's go visit Frankly."

"Cool!" Yoshiam gave him a thumbs up. "Let's cruise back and check in with the prof!"

"Then let's go see Professor Frankly." Vivian nodded with a smile.

"Right!" Bobbery motioned in determination. "Let's pop in on that professor fellow, in which I shall meet him in person for the first time."

"Exactly," Andrew held the map and pointed toward the way out. "Let's go visit Professor Frankly's place!"

"Right!" All six of them chimed in unison as they all took their leave by jumping down from the pedestal and heading back up the pathway.

Needless to say, all seven of them were gonna be in for a surprise when Professor Frankly told them where the next Crystal Star was located. It would be a huge treat for them, and the even bigger treat would be how they'll get to that place. This was going to be a fun experience for all seven of them. That was a given...

END OF CHAPTER 55...

Well, that's it for this chapter. I do hope that you all enjoyed this chapter and that you are waiting in anticipation for Chapter 6 to start.

Yeah. There 'really' isn't much to this chapter, aside from Bobbery getting a power up early, and Andrew finding a Shine Sprite in a previous room where that Boat Panel was located. I am quite eager to start Chapter 6, as I already have it all planned out.

And yes, I am going to stick to the script and use the Excess Express, especially since I have some ideas that could be incorporated into it, and it would make for rather amusing moments, especially since they'll be riding first class. I look forward to that.

But there's still one more chapter before I can get to that. The next chapter has Professor Frankly hear about the adventure on Keelhaul Key, while also meeting Bobbery in person for the first time, who has vowed to travel with Andrew and his friends to find the remaining Crystal Stars.

Professor Frankly also reveals the location of the Garnet Star's in Poshley Heights, which Flurrie will know exactly what that place is, being a famous former actress and all, as will Andrew, who has seen all of her movies that were produced there.

Additionally, they will express the joy of riding the Excess Express, despite needing a ticket for it. They'll have to see Don Pianta again, who's sick since his daughter left him, and Andrew will have to go to Keelhaul Key to get her and Frankie back. And Andrew and his friends will go on a silly side quest to find a wedding ring.

Other stuff will include how Don Pianta will retire from the syndicate, with Frankie being his successor, and a sneaky Shadow Siren will be shown having eavesdropped on the heroes to know where the sixth Crystal Star is, and a few other things will occur.

How will this go for them? Find out next time, readers!

In the meantime, only if you like, you can leave a review and let me know what you thought of this chapter overall.

Otherwise, I have nothing else to say here. So until next time, I hope you all are looking forward to Chapter 6 starting. And on that note, thanks again for reading, everyone!
