A/N: I try to use as much of the actual dialogue and character actions from the episodes as I can. I'm sorry if I get anything wrong, it is purely unintentional. Also, I do not own Ninjago and credit for all show dialogue and characters goes to their owners.

Master of the Mountain Episode 2, Into the Dark:

Kai is exploring his new sleeping quarters when he hears the bedroom door open and then proceed to slam shut with a loud bang. He turns around with a questioning expression on his face that immediately turns into one of concern as he sees Lloyd walking towards him, wearing a slightly pissed off look.

"Hey… what's wrong Lloyd?" He asks. Lloyd says nothing and instead stops in front of him, wraps his arms around Kai and drops his head onto his chest. He then mumbles something that Kai can't quite understand.

"What did you say? You're talking to my shirt Greenie." Kai chuckles, gently petting Lloyd's head.

Lloyd looks up at Kai and raises an eyebrow, saying slowly, "Kai… you're not wearing a shirt."

A light blush appears on Kai's face as he remembers that he indeed doesn't have a shirt on.

"Ahem, well where did you disappear to?" Kai asks, trying to change the subject.

Lloyd's face falls and he lets out a sigh before saying, "I just went to talk to Cole, that's all."

"Ok, but why do you look like someone ate all your pillow mint? Do I need to beat up Cole?" Kai asks, a protective expression flashing across his face. "Cuz I'll do it, just say the word and he won't know what hit him!"

"Wha-? No, no! It's nothing like that." Lloyd assures him hurriedly, grabbing his boyfriend's hands to stop him from marching out and beating up Cole right then and there. "I was warning him about the Princess and he brought up… Harumi again." Lloyd explains, his voice growing quieter as he says her name.

"Oh Greenie, hey, it's ok, I've got you, she can't hurt you anymore." Kai draws Lloyd closer to him, and maneuvers them so that they're sitting on the edge of the bed. He pulls Lloyd onto his lap as Lloyd reaches over and wraps his arms around Kai, burying his face into the crook of his boyfriend's neck.

They sit there like that for a few minutes, Kai whispering sweet nothings into Lloyd's ear as Lloyd continues to hold onto him, shaking slightly. Eventually Lloyd lifts his head and gently slides off Kai's lap to instead sit next to him on the bed.

"I thought I was fine." Lloyd mumbles, head resting on Kai's shoulder. "But when she appeared as my opponent in Prime Empire, i-it opened the wound right back up."

"It really sounded like her, it looked like her. But it wasn't her." Tears begin to appear in the corners of his eyes as he continues. "I-I-" His voice cracks and he breaks off his sentence, head in his hands as the tears begin to fall. Kai rubs his boyfriend's back gently, knowing that what Lloyd needs most right now is just his presence.

"I don't want to think about… her anymore." Lloyd mumbles into his hands. "Kai, do something to distract me please."

Kai rolls his eyes a bit at being ordered around, but he knows Lloyd doesn't mean it like that and just needs something to get his mind off of the bad memories. It's something that they've unfortunately had to do many times before. But soon a grin spreads across his face as he thinks of the perfect way to fulfill his lover's wishes.

Wrapping his arms around Lloyd's waist, Kai pulls him backwards, both of them now flat on the bed. He then reverses their position so he's straddling Lloyd's waist. The green ninja looks up at his boyfriend with a flustered expression, definitely distracted.

Kai slowly leans down, eyes slipping closed, Lloyd reaches up, fingers finding their way to the nape of Kai's neck. But before they can do anything, the door flies open for a second time, but this time it's Jay and Nya who barge in.

"Guys! Cole just called an emergency ninja meeting! It's on th-" Jay cuts off as he catches sight of the two. "Oh, um… did we uh interrupt something?"

Kai simply glares at the now suddenly very nervous lighting ninja. Nya grabs Jay's arm and starts to pull him out of the room, saying over her shoulder, "It's on the Fourty-Seventh floor lobby." She turns fully to look at them, glancing between an embarrassed Lloyd who has his hands in front of his face - trying to hide the red that's spreading across it - , and a ticked off, shirtless, Kai, still glaring at them. Smiling, she says in a teasing voice, "Come join us when you're done." before shoving Jay the rest of the way out and closing the doors behind them.

Grumbling something about attempting murder, Kai gets off of Lloyd and starts looking for his ninja suit. Lloyd is still laying on the bed, trying to compose himself and return his face to its normal pale color.

On the Fourty-Seventh floor lobby:

Jay lets out a huge yawn, saying "So let me get this straight. You pulled me out of the most luxurious bed ever-"

Nya butts in, head resting on her hands, eyes half closed, "It felt like a cloud of warm contentment."

Jay continues as if she didn't cut him off, saying in a slightly annoyed tone, "-because you saw a creature, in your bedroom?"

Cole eagerly replies, saying, "Yes! I told you, it tried to attack me, and when I fought back, it ran off somewhere! It disappeared. But get this, the weirdest part is that the creature was wearing my mother's necklace!"

The others exchange looks of confusion and doubt. Lloyd steps forwards and slowly asks, "Cole, um, are you sure this really happened, like, in reality?" doubt clearly evident in his voice.

Cole, not catching on, asks, "What do you mean?"

"I believe he's implying that you were dreaming." Zane explains, the only one of them that's not exhausted from being woken up in the middle of the night.

"It wasn't a dream! I recognized it right away! It had a picture of my parents in it!" Cole exclaims.

Nya then pointedly asks, "So, where is it?"

Cole steps back, looking down at his hands and says, "Well, I don't have it on me. The creature grabbed it back before he vanished."

"It must have been a dream, Cole. Because I do not recall your mother ever having a locket." Master Wu says.

"She did!" Cole insists, "I've seen pictures of it. We have to tell King Vangelis!"

Lloyd raises his hands up, trying to calm the upset earth elemental, "Whoa, slow down. It's not that we don't believe you-"

Jay then pops his head out from behind Lloyd and cuts him off, saying, "I don't believe him."

Lloyd's face adopts an annoyed look before continuing his sentence, "We're guests here. We can't just wake up the King in the middle of the night."

"But-" Cole starts desperately,

Kai's then the one to cut him off as he says, "Cole, buddy, go back to bed. Lloyd and I are going."

Lloyd blinks at Kai in confession and says, "We are?"

Kai turns to Lloyd, saying, "Yes, we are." his voice drops lower as he continues, "You and I have something to finish." He then gives Lloyd a suggestive wink.

Lloyd blushes hard and his mouth opens and closes a few times before he manages to stammer out, "U-u-uh."

Kai grabs Lloyd's arm and drags a dazed Lloyd off, heading back to their bedroom.

Jay and Nya glance at each other with a knowing look. Master Wu rolls his eyes while Zane just scratches his head in confusion.

"Cole, go to sleep. We can discuss this all in the morning, okay?" Master Wu says before turning and starting to walk back to his own room.

Cole sighs in defeat as the others walk away from him. Following them after a moment. No one notices the shadow disappearing behind a pillar. Or the leaves that fall from a nearby plant, its branches still quivering slightly from where someone might have brushed up against it.
