Chapter 5: The Legend of the Discovery In Hyrule
In the land of Hyrule, a flourishing and luminous land filled with many creatures, both good and evil, and near its center was the grand Hyrule Castle. In preparation for the return of a great evil, the King of Hyrule had his daughter, Princess Zelda choose four Champions, each member a different race, and on their adventures, they found the legendary knight who wielded the sword that seals the darkness, Link, who became Zelda's royal knight.
A legend speaks of heroics that led these brave heroes to an adventure of their lifetime and a route that changed all of their destinies. One that impacts the entire universe.
On a typical day in Hyrule, Zelda had been doing research on one of the Guardians. Link accompanied her. She had been noticing Guardians acting up in this area, and yet nowhere else treated the Guardians as such.
"We must uncover what this means," she said, "If mobs of monsters were to attack here, then we would be completely defenseless."
Link grunted and nodded. Zelda controlled the Guardian, but it kept acting up in the area until its head blew up. "Damn. I can't seem to figure out why the Guardians are acting up. Especially here," Zelda said. Link shrugged his head. He felt an object vibrate. From his back, he took out the legendary sword that seals the darkness, the Master Sword. The sword began pulsing with light. "Link? What's wrong?" Zelda asked. She walked over to Link and closely examined the Master Sword. "It is like the Master Sword is telling us something. Or perhaps it is trying to lead us somewhere, but it specifically activated here," Zelda said. "May I?" Zelda asked. Link nodded.
Zelda grabbed the sword and walked with it into the area. The sword pulsed and glowed more rapidly and brighter. "Perhaps if," Zelda said. She stabbed the sword into the ground, and the sword stopped shining. There was a moment she believed something would occur, but nothing happened. "Perhaps it was a hunch," Zelda said.
The ground began to shake. The dirt around the mysterious area began to crumble. "Or perhaps it took a while to react!" Zelda exclaimed as the ground shook around her. Link exclaimed and tried to run to Zelda but the ground ahead of him fell. The ground lessened around Zelda. "Link?" she questioned. The ground below her crumbled as she fell. Link immediately charged ahead and jumped down towards her.
Dirt fell through the hole as Link dived towards Zelda. "Link!" Zelda screamed. Link reached out his hand as Zelda reached out hers'. He grabbed her hand as he pulled out his shield. He pulled Zelda towards him and dived towards a wall. Scraping the shield with the wall he managed to surf the stone with his shield and land safely.
Gaining their bearings, Zelda wiped some dirt off her clothes while Link investigated their immediate surroundings. "It seems that the Master Sword unlocked an underground cavern beneath this area," Zelda said. She looked up and found they were far below the ground. "Although it seems impossible to get back up at this point," she said.
Zelda walked around, and she managed to find a tunnel in the cavern. Link walked towards her. "Perhaps we explore this place, and hopefully we'll eventually find the way up," Zelda said, "Come on Link." Zelda walked ahead as Link followed.
They walked down the tunnel. Luckily the Master Sword helped illuminate the path ahead. "I see a light up ahead. Perhaps it is a way out," Zelda said. Link nodded. They arrived at the end of the tunnel where they did not find an exit, but a brand new discovery. Link grunted in disappointment, but Zelda's face brightened as her smile grew. "Oh. My. Hylia! Link! Look what we found!" she exclaimed. Link raised his shoulders, lifted his hand with his palms facing upwards, and had a confused expression on his face. Zelda impulsively grabbed Link and pulled him around in joy, making him dizzy. "Well, I'm not quite sure what we found, but I know it is big and exciting!" she exclaimed. She dropped Link and practically ran towards the ruins. Link stood back up and ran towards her.
Zelda ran up the stairs of an old temple as Link followed. Once she made it to the top and witnessed the miraculous brightness of a Convergence Crystal. "Thank you Goddess Hylia!" she yelled. Link made it to the top, out of breath. There he found Zelda had already been sitting down and sketching an image of the crystal. "I'm willing to bet that this is the cause of the Guardian's malfunction. Perhaps if I were to take it back, then I could discover it more, and perhaps it can be of aid to us," she said. Link still had a confused expression. Zelda picked up the crystal and tossed it over to Link. "Now be careful with that. We can't have it damaged or it will mess with my research," Zelda said as she walked back to the tunnel.
They made it back to the cavern where they still did not know how they would get back to the surface. That is until they had heard some noises from above. Arriving with some Hylian knights, Impa, a loyal Sheikah servant of Zelda, came to check out the premises. "All right Princess," she said with worry, "Where are you?" One of the knights patrolling the perimeter ran up to Impa. "Ma'am. There are no signs of Link or the Princess," they said. "We're not going to stop until we find them," Impa said. Impa felt something was wrong with the atmosphere when she spoke with the knight. "But ma'am," the knight said, "Perhaps it is time we end things here!" The knight pulled out a dagger and revealed himself to be a Yiga soldier.
The Yiga Clan, previously Sheikah who broke away from the Sheikah and now dedicate their lives and culture to the revival of the Calamity Ganon. All the knights that had joined Impa were revealed to be Yiga soldiers in disguise, and from thin air, their leader, Master Kohga, appeared.
"Ha! I bet you didn't expect that!" Master Kohga yelled. "But it wouldn't be beyond you," Impa said as she stood in fighting position. All the Yiga Soldiers and Master Kohga surrounded the Sheikah Warrior. "So, I suppose you're gonna want to do this the hard way," Master Kohga said, "Well, I'm not going to let you find that Princess, if she is alive so… LET'S GET ON WITH IT!"
The Yiga soldiers all tried to tackle Impa. She disappeared in a veil of smoke into the air where she threw some kudachi blades at the Yiga below. Some dodge, but some were hit straight in the chest by Impa. As she landed back into the ground, the Yiga leader tossed a boulder at her. She fell to the ground and narrowly dodged the boulder. She spun back up and tossed more kudachi at the remaining Yiga soldiers.
"You Yiga are persistent, but it won't stop me from finding the Princess and Link!" she yelled. "Well if you want to find them, you're going to have to go through me!" Master Kohga yelled.
Master Kohga used an ancient Yiga technique to summon three metal spike balls that spun around him. He then proceeded to throw them at Impa. Impa ran and made copies of herself. The copies were hit by the spike balls and she went ahead to kick Master Kohga in the face. She tossed a kudachi at him but he caught it in mid air.
"Not very good, huh?" Master Kohga asked. "Maybe it is not what it seems," Impa said. The kudachi exploded in Master Kohga's face and tossed him back. "Eh, this doesn't look good for me," Master Kohga said. Kohga stepped back and out of nowhere his foot descended into his shadow. "Huh? This is new," he said. He was being pulled in by his own shadow. "No! Wait! No!" he yelled as his shadow pulled him in completely and it disappeared. "Strange," Impa said as she walked to the last place Kohga was.
"Hello! Is anyone up there?!" Zelda called. Impa heard the faint echoes of Zelda's call and ran to the edge of the hole in the floor. "Princess! Is that you?" Impa asked. Impa looked and saw Link and Zelda waving up. "Impa!" Zelda called out. "Don't worry! I'll get you up!" Impa yelled.
After some time, Impa managed to retrieve Link and Zelda from the underground cavern, with the Convergence Crystal. "So you're saying that the Master Sword caused the ground to reveal this underground cavern where you found the jewel?" Impa asked. "Precisely! It is an amazing discovery! We must take it back to Purah or Robbie so they can investigate more!" Zelda excitedly said. "Whoa! Let's calm down for a bit and make sure you aren't injured from that fall," Impa said. "No, I am perfectly fine. Link was there to provide my safety, which I appreciate," Zelda said, "Now, we must head to a laboratory to discover what we can."
Zelda ran ahead towards a laboratory. "Wait! Don't go too fast!" Impa yelled as she and Link ran after her. As they ran through the land of Hyrule, something had entered their world's atmosphere.
A star fell from beyond the sky. "Hey! Can't you control this thing?!" Snake yelled. "Poyo!" Kirby yelled as he tried to direct the Warp Star's trajectory. Everyone on the Warp Star screamed as they fell through the trees of Faron and landed near a pool of water. The Warp Star crashed, and shrunk to a smaller star and became inactive. "Well, that's one way to land," Snake said. "Where in Dreamland are we?" King Dedede asked as he looked at the dense tropical environment. "I don't think we're in Dreamland anymore, your highness," Bandana Waddle-Dee said. The dog barked and the duck quacked in delight as they jumped into the water and played around.
"This is no time for playing around," Snake said. Snake placed a portable radio on the ground. "Otacon? General? Can you hear me?" he asked. There was only static. "Damn, here too," Snake said. "Well what do we do now?" Bandana Waddle-Dee said. "Luckily for us, I am a skilled soldier and spy. We'll explore the area, see what resources we have," Snake said. Snake walked into the jungle and directed everyone to follow him. Everyone did so, even King Dedede who complained that he had to walk.
Master Kohga laid in a dark room as he woke up. "Ah. That was some nap. Huh? Where am I?" he asked. In the shadows, he heard the clank of armor heading towards him. From the shadows, Ganondorf arrived. "Greetings Master Kohga," Ganondorf said. "Huh? Who are you?" Master Kohga asked. "I am Ganondorf," Ganondorf said. "G-G-Ganondorf!" Master Kohga exclaimed as he stood up and bowed down, "Forgive my laziness milord! I, your loyal follower, Kohga will follow your lead." "Hm, a follower of mine. Rare, but intriguing," Ganondorf said. "What is your command, Lord Ganon?" Master Kohga asked. "First of all, call me Ganondorf. Ganon is disrespectful," Ganondorf said. "Whatever you say, Lord Ganondorf!" Master Kohga exclaimed. "Now, tell me all you know about your world," Ganondorf commanded.
"My world? Well, it's Hyrule. We, Yiga, are making the land at your disposal. So you may relish and we may rule alongside you. Of course, we are attempting to destroy that Princess and that knight with that special sword, and the Champions," Master Kohga said. "Princess? Knight with a special sword? So they exist here too," Ganondorf said. "I'm sorry. What milord?" Master Kohga asked. "You said this Yiga Clan is at my disposal?" Ganondorf asked. "Y-yes Lord Ganondorf!" Master Kohga said. "Then send them to make chaos in the land. I will send someone who will lead your Clan to victory," Ganondorf said. "Yes Lord Ganondorf!" Master Kohga said.
Ganondorf sent Master Kohga back to Hyrule and walked into an empty trophy room, aside from two trophies. "So, you exist here as well. Well, I will ensure you… they meet the same fate as you, and I will relish in my revenge," he said.
