"You look like you're in a better mood today, Luddy!" Jasmine said. Two days have passed since Ludwig stormed out of Jasmine's house and left the Mushroom Kingdom. She decided to give him some space to calm down. Today, they were hanging out in Bowser's Castle, watching tv in Ludwig's room.
Ludwig looked at her and smiled. "Yeah, I am. I'm sorry about the other day."
"I'm sorry too. I kinda made you angrier at one point." Jasmine chuckled softly.
"Well, I'm not angry anymore, so everything's fine." Ludwig gave Jasmine a kiss on the cheek, making them both slightly blush.
"I'm so glad you're feeling better, Ludwig." Jasmine smiled.
"Me too. You know, I don't even care if Junior becomes king." Ludwig replied, making Jasmine gasp.
"Wait really?" Ludwig nodded at her.
"Yes."
"So, you don't care if you stay a prince?" Jasmine asked.
"That's right!" Ludwig replied.
"Wow! I wonder what made him change his mind." Jasmine thought.
"I'm actually planning on something really big! Something even better than being king!" Ludwig said.
"Really? What is it?" Jasmine asked.
"It's a secret!" Ludwig chuckled.
"Aww really, Luddy? Not even a small hint?" Jasmine asked.
"Hehe. Nope. Everyone will have to wait and find out." Ludwig replied.
"Well, alright." Jasmine smiled and they went back to watching the tv show.
A month later, Ludwig asked a few of Bowser's soldiers to travel with him. The soldiers were a little confused, especially when they saw Ludwig in his human disguise, but followed his orders. After leaving Darkland, the Koopas arrived at Meringue Clouds, were Ludwig got a few Sledge Bros, Rocky Wrenches, and Koopa Troopas to also help them. Once everyone was ready, Ludwig walked through Meringue Clouds. As they walked on the clouds, one of the soldiers spoke up.
"Um, Prince Ludwig? What exactly are we doing?" The soldier asked.
"And why are you human?" Another soldier added.
"We are headed to the Cloud Empire. And to answer your other question, I was in my human disguise the last time I was there." Ludwig replied.
"Are we invading it?" A Koopa Troopa asked.
"Of course! And when we do, I'll be the new emperor!" Ludwig grinned.
"Wait! Lord Bowser isn't going to be new ruler?" A soldier wondered.
"Nope! This is my plan." Ludwig replied.
Ludwig smiled as they arrived in the Cloud Kingdom. They were getting closer and closer to the empire!
Emperor Skylar, Empress Amaya, and their two children were in the dining hall eating some Strawberry Shortcake. Cyrus and Skyla helped their mother bake it and they couldn't wait to taste it! The kids smiled as they took another bite of their delicious cake.
"This tastes so good! We did a great job!" Skyla cheered.
"Yeah! Can we make a chocolate cake next time, Mom?" Cyrus asked.
"Of course, dear." Amaya smiled at them.
As the family finished up their snack, they heard explosions coming from outside.
"What in the world?!" Skylar rushed over to the window, his wife and kids following behind him. The four of them gasped as they saw their citizens running around and screaming in fear.
"What's going on!?" Skyla exclaimed. They then saw a group of Koopa Troopas, Sledge Bros, and Rocky Wrenches heading towards the castle. Amaya looked closely and noticed something.
"I-Is that a human leading them?" She wondered.
"Why would a human be with Koopas?" Skylar asked.
The royal family then heard screams down the hall. They recognized some as the guards and others as the servants.
"Oh no! It sounds like they're getting closer! We should've left and hid!" Amaya exclaimed.
The doors to the dining hall opened, and the enemies rushed inside. Then, the family gasped as they recognized the human with them.
"L..Lewis?!" Skyla hesitated.
"Hm. I would've thought you'd be in the throne room." He said.
"W-What are you doing?! Why are you attacking our home?! We thought you were a good person, Lewis!" Skylar fumed.
"Lewis? Oh, that's not my real name." The four watched on in confusion as "Lewis" pulled out a wand. After casting a spell, the royal family gasped, seeing his true form.
"Y-You're Ludwig von Koopa! One of the Koopalings!" Amaya shrieked.
"That's right!" Ludwig chuckled.
"W-What are you doing here!?" Cyrus asked.
"You see, my father seems to favor my little brother, Junior. He may even make Junior his successor once he steps down, which is stupid. I'm the oldest! I should be king!" Ludwig began.
"What does that have to do with our kingdom?" Amaya asked.
"Skylar here is an emperor! Emperor is a higher title than King! So, I am going to become the new emperor of the Cloud Empire!" Ludwig explained, making Skylar gasp again.
"No! I'm not handing over my empire to you!" He yelled. The family then screamed as they began to levitate in the air, thanks to Ludwig's magic.
"It's too late! I've already won!" Ludwig laughed evilly. Still levitating the family, he walked out of the dining hall and through the castle, until he made it to the dungeon. He walked up to one of the cells and threw the four inside.
Before Skylar could run out of the cell, Ludwig quickly shut the door, grabbed the keys, and locked it.
"Now, I have to make some changes around the castle." Ludwig laughed again as he left the dungeon.
"What do we do?!" Amaya said, trying to comfort their children.
"We need to find a way out of here, but...I don't know if there is one." Skylar sighed.
"C-Can someone help us?" Skyla asked, wiping her tears away. Skylar and Amaya looked at each other, and back at their kids.
"I'm sure there's someone who would help us." Skylar replied.
"Like the Mario Bros?" Cyrus asked.
"Yes! Maybe they'll learn about what happened and save our kingdom!" Skylar replied. He smiled as he saw the hopeful looks on their children's faces.
"Yeah. We need someone like the Mario Brothers."
