Chapter 19 : Family dinner
When Mirabel came back the next morning Pedro was waiting for more yelling but instead she hugged him tightly and smiled he was shook.
"Thank you for everything I know you did it to keep me safe". Mirabel thanked
"Your Welcome Mija ". Pedro smiled
"Aww looks like you two made up". Pepa 's cried a cloud over her head
"Mija?" Pedro coaxed
She looked up up at him and he wiped her tears.
"You're a gem and no one can replace you no candle and no Miracle you understand right?" Pedro asked
"Si I know". Mirabel nodded
They spent the next hour bonding and dancing and Mirabel Teaching different stitching patterns Dolores, Luisa and Isabela smiled at them bonding, Bruno didn't realise just how close they would be and he loved seeing her smile.
"Aww I'm going to cry". Isabela states
"Already there sister". Luisa quivered
At the Rivera household Elena and Imelda were cooking potatoes and getting ready to go and surprise the Madrigals with a massive dinner with both their families.
"Is everything ready?" Victoria asked
"Si, I think so". Imelda nodded
"I can't wait". Socorro smiled
Meanwhile in the Encanto Mirabel and Isabela were finishing packing stuff for the orphanage ready to give away including toys, books and food.
Mirabel was almost done packing when Isa looked very curious.
"What is it?" She asked
"Nothing it's just I never noticed you wearing that before that's all". Isabela pointed to her necklace
"Oh this Miguel gave it to me it's a way to remind us that we are in each other's arms even when we are apart". Mirabel touched the locket
"Aww Mira ". Isabela cooed
"He has a pin that I made with the exact same symbol on it". Mirabel replies
"You two are so cute no wonder you are soulmates". Isabela chuckled
Si, I guess that's true". She put jars in a box
"You know it's true and don't deny it". Isabela starts
"Okay Miss matchmaker let's finish packing up ". Mirabel replies
The girls finished packing up when they heard a knock at the door.
"I'll get it". Dolores called
"Would you?" Bruno smiled
When she opened the door she was surprised to see all the Rivera's standing there and smiling.
"Hola Lola you wouldn't mind a surprise would you?" Abel asked
"No not at all come in come in". Dolores gestured inside
"Who is it Mija?" Felix asked
All the Rivera's walked in and they were all surprised and many hugs passed around as food was put on the counter.
"What are you all doing here?" Julieta asked
"We thought we could have family dinner together we thought it would be nice". Imelda smirked
"Well that's so sweet". Pepa cried
"The kids are upstairs ". Augustin starts
"Gracias ". Rosa called
Julieta put a hand on her heart as she smiled as Elena starts unpacking premade food to start dinner as Pepa talks with Luisa about their day and how things are going.
"How are things going?" Héctor asked
"Pretty good things have settled down with Mira". Pedro smiled
"I would hope so". Héctor smiled
"I've gotten closer with her and it has been amazing ". Pedro laughs
"That's great". Héctor smiles
When the kids reached upstairs they knocked and the door opened up to Antonio's room they all were amazed and continued running up the stairs.
"Hola anyone here?" Socorro called
"Up here". Antonio called back
When they reached the top they were on top of a big platform laughing and talking when they saw each other they ran to hug them and smiled at them.
"What are you all doing here?" Isabela asked
"We thought we would surprise with a big family dinner and it would be nice". Miguel smiled
"This is awesome ". Manny and Benny gasped
"Wait there's more l'll show you". Antonio piped
"Can we?" Socorro begged
"Alright just don't go too far". Miguel said
"We won't ". Manny called
The young ones ran off to join Antonio to show them all the cool things about his room. The girls started chatting and laughed about what's happening recently more likely about gossip around town , Abel was with Camilo talking about random things most recently the latest inventions around the world.
"Mira's is on her walk if you hurry you can catch her". Luisa said
"Gracias Lu". He thanked
So he trenched outside as he made it into town, Miguel thought that this was a small town the wind was sending shivers up his spine funny how it was so cold. He saw Mira and went to catch up with her as he saw her picking up bluebells dios he loves her so much.
"Mind if I join you Señorita?" He asked
Mirabel looked up her eyes wide at the sight of Miguel But her smile so big and her cheeks blushed so red and her eyes sparking in the moonlight.
She put down the basket and went hug him tightly he lifted her into his arms and kissed her so full of love and passion.
"W- what are you doing here?" Mirabel stammered
"We thought it might be nice to have a big family dinner from the busy week". Miguel explains
Mirabel smiled as she picks up the basket.
"So what you doing?" He asked
"Picking flowers for my room my old ones are wilting also I like the breeze it's nice". Mirabel replies
"I see do you mind if I join?" He coaxed
"Of course ". She nodded
They picked flowers in silence for about a minute before Mirabel spoke up.
"So how have you been?" She asked
"Good you ?" He replied
"Good a lot of packing lately because of the orphanage ". Mirabel smiles
"That's good and how are things with…" he dragged on
"Oh Abuelo and I have been slowly adjusting we've been getting close ". Mirabel replies
"That's great". Miguel smiled
"And what about you?" She asked
"Oh just family time and chores". Miguel smiled
"Any new music ". Mirabel coaxed
"Oh just some new melodies but no lyrics yet". Miguel replies
"I'm sure they'll come Mi Princple you just have to find the right time". Mirabel tapped his nose
"Your right how is it your always know?" He asked
"It's natural it just happens". Mirabel shrugged
"I have to tell you something ". Miguel said
"Oh?" Mirabel stopped
"You know when I got cursed how I came to land of the living after the blessing ". Miguel explains
"Si?" She questioned
"Well the curse didn't fully erase somehow I could see my dead family and open the gateway to the land of the dead I know I know it sounds crazy". Miguel cried
"Hey hey no no it's not crazy I mean it is but not to me". He stoked his cheeks
"You mean you believe me?" Miguel asked
"Si of course I do I mean look at me I am a half breed and I trust you Miguel I love you so much all of you". Mirabel replies
Miguel smiled and breathed a sigh of relief
"I never told anyone else apart from Socorro ". Miguel smiled
"Well I promise I wouldn't tell anyone not unless you want to". Mirabel replies
"I can't believe you ". Miguel shook his head
"What?" She asked
"How did I get so lucky ". Miguel laughs
"I don't know I could ask you the same question ". Mirabel replies
She picked up the basket and walked back with his hand holding hers.
"Oh and Mira?" He called
"Mhm". She answers
"NEVER EVER call yourself a half breed again you here me you are perfect ". Miguel stated
"Si". She nodded
When they returned back to the house dinner was already set up and conversation has already rung throughout the house, Mirabel put down the basket down and they each collected their own plates and sat down next down at the table next to each other.
"And just exactly where have you two lovebirds been off to?" Oscar asked
Victoria slapped his arm.
"What?" Oscar asked
"Just a walk ". Miguel smiled
"Oh how romantic ". Rosita swooned
Miguel shook his head as Mirabel laughed softly.
Conversation continued like normal and laughs were shared and passed around as this was all that Was needed yes everything felt right.
