"Oh, Harry. Are you all right? We overheard them talking about the Dementor attack. You must tell us everything," Hermione breathed as she looked at her best friend.

"Let the man breathe, Hermione," Ron said.

After an engaging conversation, the twins popped in.

"Thought we heard your dulcet tones. Don't bottle it up, though, mate. Let it out. If you're all done shouting... Do you wanna hear something a little more interesting?" The twins smiled a devilish smile.

"If anyone has a right to know, it's Harry. If it wasn't for Harry... we wouldn't even know Voldemort was back," Sirius said, "He's not a child, Molly."

"But he's not an adult either. He's not James, Sirius," Molly said.

"Well, he's not your son," Sirius pipped in.

"He's as good as. Who else has he got?"

"He's got me," Sirius said.

"How touchingly paternal, Black. Perhaps Potter will grow up to be a felon, just like his godfather," Professor Snape pipped in.

"Now, you stay out of this, Snivellus," Sirius retorted.

"Snape's part of the Order?" Harry asked.

"Git," Ron said.

"You have detention with Umbridge for the next week?" Professor Snape seemed irritated.

Hermione nodded as she stared at her professor. He looked more disgruntled than usual. "I will let Professor Umbridge know that you will be serving those detentions with me," he paused, "only because we have work to do and I cannot lose my assistant."

Hermione started to smile at Professor Snape's comment. She didn't understand why he would do that. Sure, she understood that he didn't want to lose his assistant but weeks ago he didn't even want her as one. "Get back to work, Miss Granger," he immediately said. Hermione nodded and got back to work on the potion they were making. Professor Snape had told her he needed this potion done in the next couple of days because he would be showing it to his sixth-year students.

"May I see your hand, Miss Granger?" she turned around to see Professor Snape staring at her. Hermione narrowed her eyes at him, confused on what he wanted. "Hand now, please," he was holding out his hand and she gracefully put her hand into his. He was holding a vial that said, 'Murtlap Essence' on the front. "Does it hurt?"

Hermione nodded, as he let go of her hand, "This will heal and soothe your hand, but it won't completely get rid of it," he started to open the vial and grab Hermione's hand softly. His hands felt calloused but soft at the same time. Hermione stared at his hand as he carefully put the liquid on her hand. His fingers were long and slender. She noticed something on his hand she had never seen before. It was a ring on his middle finger. It was silver and had a hint of green in it. "All done, don't wash your hand for the next twenty minutes," he sat the vial down on the table and looked at Hermione.

Hermione felt like she was going to choke on her saliva. Professor Snape was still holding her hand and slightly drawing small circles with his thumb. "T-thank y-you, Professor Snape," she stuttered. She glanced at their hands and he instantly removed his hand from hers. "Don't ever mention it," he turned around quickly and walked to his desk. He sat down and stared at his work.

"Mention what?" Hermione smiled.

Professor Snape lifted his head, his face had a slight smirk showing. "Precisely," he paused as he looked at Hermione, "you may go now."

Hermione got up early for the day because she decided her sketchbook needed to be moved. She didn't want anyone to see where she put it. With everything going on and her feelings slightly developing more for her potions Professor her drawings had gotten more explicit. If anyone had found her sketchbook she would be mortified. She grabbed her book from under her mattress and put it on the underside of her bed frame.

After she was done hiding her sketchbook she made her way down to the great hall. She sat down in her normal spot at the Gryffindor table. Hermione grabbed her book from her bag and started to read. As she was reading she felt a rush of wind go past her. She didn't have to turn around to see who it was. There was only one person in the castle that had a long flowing cape. She turned her head slightly to see Professor Snape sit down next to Umbridge. He turned to talk to her. Everything seemed great until Umbridge's eyes laid upon Hermione. Gulping, Hermione moved her eyes back to her plate. Was Umbridge mad that I would not be serving detention with her?

"Miss Granger," his voice bellowed through her eyes making her jump. She turned around to see Professor Snape towering over her. "Yes, Professor?" She said shyly.

"Don't forget you have detention with me, for the next week," he said.

Hermione nodded and Professor Snape was gone in an instant. She didn't understand why she was attracted to Professor Snape. Then again she knew. She liked the way he held himself, and how confident he is. Hermione liked the way his hair went into his face when he was grading work. She liked his large crooked nose that she had imagined herself sitting upon. Hermione shook her head. She knew she shouldn't be having these thoughts about him, but it felt right.

After she was done eating she made her way out of the great hall. Transfiguration class went like a breeze and so did charms. As she was walking to potions she took a deep breath. All she could think about was Professor Snape holding her hand and rubbing small circles with his thumb.

"Are you coming?" She turned to see Harry staring at her.

Hermione nodded and wrapped her arm around Harry's as they had done in the past. "What do you want to do after dinner tonight?" Harry asked as we sat down. Hermione noticed Professor Snape staring at her and Harry. She gulped, "I have detention with Professor Snape," she said quietly.

"Seriously, you already serve enough with that dungeon bat," he paused as Professor Snape got closer. Professor Snape neared Harry and stared him down. "This dungeon bat has ears, Mr. Potter," he retorted with a smirk. He turned slightly and looked at Hermione. Professor Snape's mouth, the corners were slightly going upward but soon disappeared when Seamus started talking.

Hermione looked at Harry who was staring at his potions book. "I don't understand how he is in the order. How can anyone trust him?" Harry whispered.

"You trust Dumbledore right?" Hermione asked.

"Of course I do," Harry choked an eyebrow.

"Then you should trust Professor Snape," Hermione smiled.

Harry groaned, but he knew that Hermione was right. If Dumbledore didn't trust Snape then he wouldn't be a part of the order.

As the class went on Hermione and Professor Snape shared glances at one another. Hermione didn't believe her eyes until Harry had brought it up. "Snape keeps eyeing you," Harry looked disgusted.

Hermione cleared her throat, "He's just keeping his eye on me since I have to serve detention with him. No need to worry Harry."

Hermione could see Harry unclench his jaw. She wondered what had crawled into his pants. Why on earth would Harry care if Professor Snape was eyeing her. She shook her head and knew it was just because he cared about her.

"I will see you in the common room after I serve my detention," Hermione said as Harry started to clean up his side of the desk.

"I will see you then," Harry stood up and gave Hermione a full frontal hug.

"Get going Harry," she pushed him away and turned to see Professor Snape was looking at his paperwork he was grading. He had his hair covering his face again. She smiled as she looked at him. "Get to work Miss Granger," he hissed, "you can stare at me during class hours, but not during detention."

Hermione's eyes went wide as she looked away. How long has she been staring at him? Did he notice her staring at him all throughout class? She shook her head and got to work.

Hermione grabbed a cauldron and started to clean it. After an hour of never looking up she looked up to see him staring at her. Instantly, he looked away. Hermione started to tap her foot on the chair. A thing she did when she was extremely nervous.

"Miss Granger!" She looked up to see Professor Snape snarling at her.

"Yes?" She questioned.

"Do you have to make that insufferable noise with your toe tapping?"

She shook her head, "no sir," she looked back down at the cauldron.

"Are you in a hurry to get back to the dorm room to see Mr. Potter?" She looked up to see Professor Snape staring at her with his arms crossed.

"Are you assuming I am with Harry?" Hermione choked an eyebrow.

He cleared his throat, "No," he paused and stood up from his desk. He started to walk closer to Hermione. "Do I make you nervous, Miss Granger?"
