The waiter watched her come in and smiled as she approached. "How can I help you tonight?" He asked softly and Brennan glanced around briefly. "I've got a blind date. They didn't give me a name, just a location." She said and the waiter checked the papers on his podium, nodded his head and smiled at her. "Right this way." He said and Brennan followed him slightly nervously through the restaurant and towards a booth up the back.
The waiter indicates the table and she sits down and pauses in shock for a moment and then smiles. "I should have expected this." She said and smiled at the girl across from her. "So they didn't tell you who you were meeting then?" Angela asked with a smile and Brennan shook her head as she shrugged out of her coat. "Jack said he got me a blind date with a girl who turned him down." She said and Angela grinned. "Yeah, I mentioned that I'd been trying to ask you out for a while when I turned him down. He decided to help me out." She admitted and Brennan had to let out a smile at that. "Maybe you should have asked me out yourself." She suggested and Angela smiled across the table at her.
"Would you have accepted if I had?" Angela asked and Brennan was silent for a moment before letting out a small smile. "Maybe you should have asked me to find out." Angela smirked in reply as the waiter came back with their menus and some glasses and water for them.
After the meal and some surprising revelations, the two of them had shared about the fact that this date could have happened a lot sooner, Angela paid for the meal and the two of them headed outside. "Night's still young. Want to come back to my place, catch a movie?" Angela questioned casually and Brennan tried not to grin too wide but nodded gently. "I'd like that." She replied and Angela quickly called a cab and headed back to her apartment downtown, a location that Brennan was used to, she'd crashed with Angela after parties numerous times and more again when the two friends just wanted a night in together, watching bad movies and drinking wine.
So when Angela returned with wine and a smile Brennan relaxed, yeah the two of them had just gone on a date, but this was her and Angela, with no ulterior motive. "There's still some of your clothes here from Halloween if you want to change?" Angela said with a smile and Brennan returned the smile with a nod as she headed for the bedroom. She was pulled back and gave Angela a confused look, the other women just smiled.
"Just wanted to say, you look outstanding." She admitted brightly and Brennan returned the smile and leaned over and placed a chaste kiss to her lips. "You scrub up well." She returned before heading down to the bedroom and Angela was frozen for a moment before a grin plastered across her face, she let out a chuckle and headed into the kitchen.
When Brennan returned in some leggings and a large baggy t-shirt Angela smiled, returning to the living with the wine and some snacks. "I'm going to go change, pick out something good." She commented and leaned over the back of the sofa to kiss Brennan's temple, before heading off to the bedroom herself to change.
She returned to find a comedy set up on the TV and the wine glasses filled, Brennan watched her walk in, her eyes following every curve in her body and Angela ignored the butterflies in her stomach and instead just curled her feet up under herself on the other half of the couch and clicked the play button as she grabbed her wine.
They could just think of it as any other night if it wasn't for the fact that the two of them couldn't stop looking and touching each other. If their attraction before was hidden then it was definitely out in the open now and both of them had just let it happen, they'd continue on as they always had, just with this added to their complex relationship.
