I woke up and stood up. We were in a large stone tunnel. Clara was standing against the tunnel waiting. "Where are we?"
"There's a high chance that we're inside a memory," She responded.
"A what?"
"I'm going to let the doctor explain. I don't understand it myself. Do you recognize this place? I don't."
"No. Is it a shared memory?"
"I think so yeah. If someone has been here they probably just don't know it," She said.
"Maybe."
"What do we do with him? We could explore without him or just wait."
"Or this." I zapped him and he woke up.
"Or that," She said.
He stood up and came towards us. "That hurt, you know. Anyways…" He began.
"We're inside a memory. Can you explain it? There's two of us who don't understand it," Clara asked.
"Yes. I'll tell you as we explore," He said. We started to wander around. "The aliens put us in a memory that is supposed to resemble a fear. It's easier with two people but I assume it's harder with three. It has to be something that happens in one memory and takes what could be a fear of ours. If one person doesn't like killing and another doesn't like being trapped they would try to find something with both. Both of them could be fine with them but they don't know that," He explained.
"A single memory?"
"A single day but multiple points in the day," He replied.
We walked around for a few more minutes before he spoke. "Ah. I know where we are," He said, "Do you recognize this?"
"Who?" I asked.
"You."
"No," I said.
"Where are we then, Doctor?"
"You'll find out, soon." It wasn't long before we started hearing voices. We stopped at a huge cave which were full of pods. The lighting was red. Now I knew where we were.
A group of people were talking to each other. I recognized two of them. "But I don't see how these are duplicates. They don't grow duplicates, they kidnap the originals. So these, these are the humans. Retreat. Retreat! This is a trap! This is an ambush!" A woman called Jac said.
The other woman was slowly turning around. A group of Zygons appeared behind the UNIT soldiers. My past self was looking at her and was calm. "No. Oh, no. Miss Oswald, please. Please," Jac went on.
"Kill the traitors." There was screaming.
"Can they see us?"
"No. We're just ghosts observing it."
"What just happened and where are we?"
"The invasion," The doctor responded.
"What invasion? I can think of two," She said.
"The invasion where you and I met her," He said.
"Ah. The invasion where I wasn't a part of!" She said in irritation.
"You technically were," I said. She glared at me.
"The next one is in the same place as the first if I remember correctly. Oh, no," She said.
"What?" The doctor asked.
"It's the interrogation. I don't want to witness it again," She answered.
"The thing that you two argued over in the beginning? You're not still mad about that, are you?" He said.
"No, I'm not. I want to forget about it and this doesn't help," Clara replied.
"This is going to be fun," He said.
