Author's Notes 1:
So… yeah I completely forgot about Mineta last chapter hence why he literally only had 2 mentions… well when you have 43 characters to keep track of [not including the villains] for a big ass fight since Ida and Pony left to get back up, it's likely one or two will fall down the cracks, even WHEN I was doing my best to keep track of my notes lol.
Midna slowly came too, a soft light poking through her eyelids, but the first thing she did was mentally contact her wolves, specifically the who Shigaraki injured, and the wolf sent back feelings of contentment that he was able to help his mistress, even if he was injured in the process. With a slight groan, Midna slowly cracked an eye open, "Ah. You're awake. How are you feeling, Deary?" Recovery Girl asked as she moved to the side of the bed Midna was resting in.
"Exhausted," Midna stated as she pulled the sheet over her head. While the lights were on low they were still a bit much at the moment, "How's everyone else and how long have I been here Recovery-Ba-Chan?"
"You've been here for a few hours, and most of the students just had bruises and scrapes," Recovery Girl replied gently used to Midna's nickname for her as the girl had called her that since the two first met, "The ones worst off were Vlad King who was dangerously low on blood and your friend Yaoyorozu who was dangerous low on body fat due to pushing themselves too far. Vlad is at the hospital getting a blood transfusion while Yaoyorozu-San is getting an all you can eat buffet from Lunch Rush while Sato-San and Shishida-San had broken limbs which I already took care of. Young Hado was also simply exhausted and is currently eating her fill with Yaoyorozu-San."
"That's good," Midna sighed in relief, "And Izuku?"
"Bruised knuckles and a few hairline fractures from when his control slipped and he went just above his limit," Recovery Girl replied, "After a bit of rest and a small application of my Quirk he was fine. I believe he and the rest of your friends are with Yaoyorozu-San as they wait for you to wake up."
"You had to kick them out of the room didn't you?" Midna giggled slightly as she slowly sat up now that she was feeling more awake and the light wasn't bothering her anymore.
"Indeed," Recovery Girl replied with her own smile.
"So… how many Villains were at the USJ and how long did the fight last?" Midna inquired as Recovery Girl gave her a small handful of her special gummy bears, "It felt like hours…"
"Not counting the two who escaped, there was one Bio-Weapon or as the Villains called it 'Nomu', along with one hundred and fifteen Rank D and C Villains. Oh and before you start to worry about trying to kill it due to the Nomu being classified as a Bio-Weapon there will be no legal repercussions. In fact you were actually following protocol in trying to kill it, and overall the fight lasted just under an hour as the rest of U.A.'s bussed had been Saratoga most likely due to their warper and another of the captured villains."
Midna cracked a small grin before she frowned,, "Nice… unofficially I'm in deep shit aren't I?"
"Not the way I'd have phrased it but yes," Recovery Girl nodded, "I believe both Eraserhead and your Mother will be having strong words for you young lady. What you did was far too reckless even if it did work out in the end."
Midna looked at the nurse horrified, "Well better get my grave ready because Mama Inko is going to kill me… can I just move in here Recovery-Ba-Chan?"
"Nope!" Recovery Girl quipped with her own grin, "You made your bed so you get to lie in it."
"Crap baskets…" Midna groaned, making the old woman cackle just as the door opened and Detective Naomasa walked in.
"Glad to see you're awake Midna-Chan" He grinned as he sat down in a chair next to Recovery Girl, "How are you feeling?"
"Tired mostly," Midna shrugged, "I knew 'exercise stamina' and 'combat stamina' were different but not to that extent. Gonna have to talk to Sensei about some exercises I can do to address that."
Naomasa chuckled, "From what Mic tells me, Eraser is already planning on addressing that soon. So are you up to giving me your statement on what happened or should I wait for you to rest some more?"
"I should be able to Uncle, but afterwards I think I'll join Yaomomo and Hado-Senpai and get something to eat," Midna replied, "First thing though, one of my wolves was injured by Shiguraki's Quirk, from what they told me, he's able to disintegrate things he touches with all five fingers. It's most likely how U.A.'s Gate was destroyed a couple days ago."
"You can speak to them?" Naomasa asked with a raised eyebrow as he wrote down the information on Shiguraki's Quirk.
"Sorta," Midna said waving a hand in a 'so-so' gesture, "It's more like they send me their feelings telepathically and anything more complicated I have to translate from a mix of emotions and the like."
"Yet you seem to be rather proficient with it," Recovery Girl noted, making Midna giggle.
"I have had them since I was four Recovery-Ba-Chan. I've had a lot of practice," Midna replied once her giggles died down, the injured wolf rising out of the shadows so Recovery Girl could document the wound and see if her Quirk worked on the shadow wolves, "I'll make sure to add that moment I got the info in the report Uncle."
"Thank you," Naomasa said as he pulled a tape recorder out of his pocket and put it on the nearby table. After turning it on and stating the time, date and who was present he said, "Now let's start from the top. What happened when you got to the Disaster Rescue Training Ground?"
"I HAVE AWAKENED AND I HUNGER!" Midna yelled as she entered the lunch room.
"MIDNA!" Her friends yelled in joy, with Ashido, Izuku, Setsuna, Reiko and surprisingly Hado-Senpai rushing her, and burying her in a pile.
"We were worried when our chaotic imp of twilight wouldn't wake," Reiko said, tears of relief rolling down her cheeks, "It was like you were dead to the world, stuck in an unending dream…"
"More like just stuck in the void of unconsciousness," Midna deadpanned, "Good news. Recovery-Ba-Chan's Quirk works on my puppers! Now let me up, I must be fed!"
"Nope!" Setsune cackled as she hugged her orange haired friend, "Let the hug pile end first. You can wait a few more minutes."
"Move lizard I HUNGRY!" Midna growled eyes flaring slightly.
"Make me Imp!" Setsuna snarked, giving a toothy grin.
"Are they always like this?" Hado asked, looking at Ashido and Izuku.
"I just met them when school started so no idea…" Ashido shrugged.
"Only when Midna does something that really annoys or worries Set-Chan," Izuku shrugged, "Set-Chan and Rei-Chan are like sisters to me and Midna-O-nēsan."
"I think it's cute," Hado grinned, "So your friends tell me you're starting a club for chaotic students? I want in!"
"Heck yeah!" Midna grinned before sinking into the shadows and reappearing at the table to eat, "Welcome to the Chaos Core Hado-Senpai!"
"Call me Nejiri," Nejiri giggled as she flew over to the table to resume eating.
"Maybe we should just call each other by our first names?" Tsu suggested, "Midna-Chan, Nejiri-Chan and myself have already given permission, plus we do have a nickname for Yaomomo here that has her first name in it, Kero."
"Fine with me," Mina said, getting to her feet with everyone giving their consent, "Still gonna call Momo-Chan, Yaomomo though."
Momo giggled, "That's fine. I'm honestly surprised how quickly I've gotten used to the nickname. So Midna I'm doubting you've had a chance to speak with Urata-San yet right?"
"Yeah, gone to her homeroom a couple times but, and I'm not joking about this, every time I'm visiting she's already gone to visit her mother in the hospital," Midna said with a shrug, "Can't blame her since Urata-San's mother was caught in a blast from Endeavor who was once more going overboard against a B-Rank Villain…"
Everyone winced, having heard how brutal Endeavor was in most fights, "Why he's not in jail for causing so much collateral and casualties I'll never understand," Toru growled, one of her cousins being put in a similar situation when she was seven.
"Because he's powerful and the Hero Commission is possibly corrupt beyond all hell?" Izuku suggested.
"Trust me, there is no possibility," A new voice said, turning they saw a girl who's golden blond hair flowed down to her mid back, brown eyes, a light tan, a splash of freckles over her nose and wearing a U.A. uniform. Looking at Midna, she said, "I'm Hinata Urata, Sensei told me you wanted to ask me something?"
Midna nodded and swallowed her mouthful of food while Nejiri and Mina got up to add a third table so everyone could sit comfortably, "Yeah. Short version I'm starting a club where students from multiple years and course come together to swap ideas, train and the like, and Nezu-Sensei recommended you for it, doubly so if we go on to turn this club into an Agency once we all graduate."
Urata sat down with a curious expression, "What's the club called and why me?"
"It's called the Chaos Core!" Midna replied with a wide impish smile, "And partly because he said you're a bit of a prankster…"
Urata snickered, "Very true, but not in the way you might expect. Basically my Quirk lets me do just about any kind of paperwork with one hundred percent efficiency so I can get through it faster than anyone else in the course including third years… using this skill I've learned how to… shall we say 'weaponize paperwork' against those who annoy me."
"DIBS!" Momo, Ashido, and Pony yelled with large grins, while the rest of the table began cackling, even Kyoka who was one of the least chaotic members of the club.
"What mad revelry to weaponize the undying beast!" Fumikage snickered.
"Truely an unending wave of torment," Reiko nodded, "All who face your wrath will forever know true terror," Urata blushed unused to the praise.
"Uhh… thanks. Most people who learn about that avoid me afterwards. Only reason I thought it safe to trust you with it, is because Nezu-Sensei recommended me," Urata explained, ducking her head down so her hair would cover her face.
"This club is a creature of Chaos," Midna grinned, "It may take many incarnations… but that is still one of the most AMAZING forms of Chaos I have EVER heard!"
"Th…thanks," Urata said and it was obvious she was close to tears so Toru got up and quickly moved to sit next to Urata, and the second year was then hugged on both sides by Toru and Kyoka.
"No problem Urata-Chan!" Toru said as she rubbed the girl's back,
"I may not be as chaotic as the rest of you," Kyoka stated with a small shrug, "But that doesn't mean I'll just leave someone just because of what they could do with their Quirk. I mean I could spy on a lot of people just by plugging my ear-jacks into a wall or something. Doesn't mean I'm going to."
Denki nodded and gave the older girl a large grin, "Cheer up. You've got friends now, who'll always have your back!"
"Damn straight!" Midna, Mina, Setsuna and Dark Shadow cheered, while Reiko, Fumikage, Momo, and Pony nodded.
Urata smiled back, "Thank you… and call me Hinata."
"Well now everyone in the club can be called by their first name," Momo noted, "Perhaps we can have the first official meeting."
"And with that the Chaos Core Club is now officially active," Nezu said from the lunch room speakers, "I will let everyone know when the first official meeting will take place once I triple check everyone's schedules," Hinata and Nejiri looked confused.
"Oh yeah Nezu is the teacher overseeing the club and will even be teaching us a few extra tricks," Midna grinned, "We might be the only students in the school getting personal lessons from Nezu-Sensei!"
"You are," Nezu cackled over the speakers again.
"... This just got so much better yet so much more terrifying," Mina gulped.
"Eh, if anyone needs a specific way to learn things Sensei will figure it out," Midna shrugged, "I know there are times I need to focus on the lesson instead of letting my mind wander."
"Same!" Mina, Toru, and Denki replied, but before anyone could respond the door burst open and Hatsume charged in.
"Midna what the HELL did you hit to break your Sword Baby like that?!" She asked, eyes wide.
Midna willed her stone hands to appear, "Slammed these into the scimitar so it would go through the brain of a bio-weapon knowing I'd likely lose the sword somehow but that thing was made to kill Prime All Might… wasn't taking any chances Mei-Chan."
"... Yeah that would do it," Mei sighed, notebook and pen in hand, not bothered that Midna had used her first name, "So do you want the same design for it or should I add anything?"
"Unless you can make self repairing nano-tech I think the same design will work," Midna replied with a shrug, "I haven't even had a chance to train with my scimitars yet."
"While nano-tech like that is on my to-do list I'm nowhere near close to that level. Not even David Shield has been able to figure it out yet," Mei groaned before shaking her head and regained focus, "Alright, I should have a recreation of your scimitar in a day or two. Anything else?"
"A set of six Kunai, some throwing knives and everything else on this list," Midna replied, pulling a list out of her shadows and handing it to the 'Problem Child of Support' as she'd heard Aizawa call her once, making others look at her in surprise, "What? I told you I was planning to go Underground when I go pro and my current outfit was for Limelight work. I just never said I was going for a Sheikah theme for that costume hence the ninja tools."
"Why get, throwing knives if you're getting Kunai?" Dark Shadow asked, scratching his head, "Aren't they the same thing?"
"Nope," Izuku said with a small smile, "Kunai were more all purpose tools, some examples of what they were used for were digging tools, crowbars, occasionally daggers and other mundane tools like that. They could be thrown like many hand held objects but that doesn't mean they were designed to be aerodynamic."
"How did you…" Pony started, once Momo and Setsuna helped her understand a few new words.
"Found an old Pre-Quirk internet show all about ninjas," Midna cackled with her impish grin, "It's really helped me with a few DND characters and tricks for my true Hero Suit. One reason it's taking so long to finish. I want it to be both historically accurate and fit the theme I'm going for. Not as easy as it sounds," The group was silent for a bit as Momo, Nejiri and Midna ate. When they finished Midna looked at one of the security cameras, "Sensei, are there any empty classrooms we can use?"
"There are plenty available right now as most of the students have gone home… I think your group might be the only ones left now actually… am I correct to assume that you wish this group to be more than a simple club?" Nezu inquired over the intercoms. Midna shared a quick look with Izuku, Setsuna and Reiko, the girls nodding while Izuku gave a small grin, "Very well. I'll have the NDA's waiting for you in the 1-A Homeroom…"
"NDA's? Momo and Hinata asked.
"There's a big secret we want to share with you all, but don't want it spread about," Midna explained, "But it's so damn big we need these Non-Disclosure Agreements…"
"Holy shit," Mina gasped before she paused in thought, "Well… It'll be hard for me but as long as I have someone to talk to I should be fine."
"Same," Toru said seriously, "Then again being invisible helps one learn how to keep secrets because you overhear a lot more than you'd ever want to."
"Eh," Mei shrugged, "You don't have the trust of your customers, you don't get work. This is just another part of the job."
"Come on… let's get to the classroom," Setsuna stated, getting to her feet. The large group quickly made their way to the classroom where Nezu was already waiting.
"Greetings everyone! I'll skip my normal greeting today due to how serious this is," Nezu motioned to the tables, fourteen of which had a sheet of paper and pen making a couple people blink as there was even a contract for Dark Shadow, "Feel free to look over the NDA's. All of them are rather basic and simply require each of you to keep the secret you're about to learn to yourselves, and to ONLY speak of it to others in the know. I know the Midorya Siblings, Tokage-Chan, and Yanagi-Chan already know but I'd like them to sign as well just to make sure no one can attack any of you, I myself have already signed an NDA."
Momo and Hinata quickly looked over the paperwork and nodded, "It's exactly as Sensei described it, not surprising since Nezu-Sensei was the one who made them. It also says we'll learn who else knows the secret after we sign."
In moments everyone had signed and handed the papers forward Nezu nodded and clapped his paws, "Alright. There's no way to sugar coat this. All Might's Quirk is one that has been passed down since the dawn of Quirks, and it is now in the possession of Izuku Midoriya. The Quirk's true name is 'One for All' to both represent how the owner of the Quirk gives their all to protect the innocent and also as a direct counter to the Quirk's sibling 'All for One'."
Momo growled, "Who the hell decided to so blatantly disrespect the history of the Three Musketeers story?"
"That would be the owner of All for One," Nezu replied, "Since according to what little we know about the history of the Quirk's, that is what he named his Quirk and himself when he started working to take over the world."
"Because of course that's his end goal," Kyoka drawlled with a small smirk, "So… what was Izuku's Quirk before he got One for All?"
Izuku sank in on himself, causing Setsuna to detach a hand, float it over and pat the verdett's shoulder, "Bro was Quirkless and even then wanted to become a Hero," Midna said, sending her hair hand out to mimic Setsuna's actions making everyone who didn't know about this trick blink in surprise, "I have no doubt Zuzu could have made a fantastic Detective or Underground Hero. I mean Sir. Nighteye's and Eraserhead's fighting styles are essentially completely Quirkless… at least according to what little info I could get on Nighteye."
"You are correct in that Nighteye's fighting style is Quirkless in nature but only because he almost entirely relies on his Future Sight Quirk," Nezu explained.
"Future Sight? Oh he must have a HUGE Ego if he's gone through his entire life with that," Denki grumbled.
"I agree, Kero," Tsu stated, getting others to nod, "Since he's gone through his entire life with that, he'd be correct about most things and be able to make near perfect plans. Eventually that would put it in his mind, even subconsciously that he's always right and no one else can make plans of a similar caliber…"
While the rest of the Chaos Core discussed Izuku's Quirk, what he could do and ways he could improve, Midna tilted her head in thought in silence. Nezu, Setsuna and Nejiri all noticed but decided to let her be, at least until MIdna spoke, "Let's see… David Shield is a master inventor and left all the fighting to All Might… Nighteye is more of a planner than a fighter, so once again the heavy lifting was left to All Might… Sensei, who else knows the secret apart from All Might, Uncle Naomasa, Gran Torino, Ka-san, Aizawa-Sensei and those in this room?"
"Recovery Girl, David Shield, Sir. Nighteye, All for One and most likely the creator of the Nomu," Nezu replied with a frown.
Izuku's eyes narrowed, "And shortly after U.A. started, he had me come to his office and told me not to tell anyone about the Quirk as it was a 'sacred secret'! He had his own support group and was denying me my own apart from Ka-san, Midna-O-nēsan, Set-Chan and Rei-Chan! He even said he was disappointed in me that I was with others when he told me about the Quirk!"
Nezu's eyes narrowed, "Did he now? I'll be having words with him. Why do you ask Midna-Chan?"
"Because both of All Might's Sidekicks were Support Heroes…" Midna started.
"Between them only Nighteye was officially a Hero," Nezu interrupted, "Shield-Kun was simply his Personal Support Gear Provider."
Midna nodded before continuing realization slowly dawning in everyone else's eyes, "And All Might is constantly coming in to handle Villain attacks even when there's already a Hero on sight… plus he's caused more than his own share of collateral… and then his name, 'All Might'..."
Nejiri gasped, "In some ways he's basically saying he's got all the strength in the world to do what he wants, even if it's barging into someone else's fight if not the only one who's strength truly matters…"
"In the worst case scenario…" Hinata stated her eyes narrow, "'All Might' is also very similar to 'Alight' which could be seen as now that he's here it's alright, but it could also be taken as he's 'Always Right'... Hero names always have meaning, even if it's not what the hero intended… Here are a couple examples from here at the school. Midnight-Sensei's Quirk puts people to sleep… something that is mostly done at night, through the time of midnight. She also has a dominatrix theme, which from what little I know about… well that profession is again something done at night."
"Power Loader and Snipe are other examples. Power Loader rarely does any fighting himself instead using mech suits of his own creation for fighting or as he's more often seen doing rescue work, ala using his mecks to 'load' ruble, broken cars and the like into trucks things with more 'Power', ... Snipe is rather simple since snipers need accuracy to do their job so using firearms is an obvious form of support gear for him, since his Quirk lets him hit target others with near perfect accuracy. The cowboy theme though… yeah that doesn't really fit his naming theme."
Nezu nodded, "It's one reason why coming up with your Hero Code Name is important."
"Can someone register the name early?" Mina asked, "I want something along the lines of 'Acidic Heroin: Alien Queen' but since it's a reference to the Aliens franchise I don't know if it would be allowed…"
"Approved," Nezu grinned, "It's a low key reference, and multiple franchises have aliens having queens or using acid, "Any else?"
"Twilight Heroin: Princess!" Midna cackled.
"The Rainy Day Heroin: Froppy," Tsu croaked, "I've been wanting to use that as my Hero name since elementary."
"Wonderful names!" Nezu smiled, "Any others?"
"The Spectral Heroin; Haunt will work," Reiko stated, "If not I am willing to replace 'Haunt' with 'Poltergeist' or 'Weight'."
"Haunt is a fine name for an Underground Heroin," Nezu nodded, "Any more?"
"Electrification Hero: Chargebolt!"
"Hearing Hero: Earphone Jack," Kyoka stated.
"What about using 'Soundstorm' instead of your Quirk name?" Dark Shadow suggested.
Kyoka's eyes went wide, "Holy shit… that's awesome! Thank's Dark Shadow," Said sapient Quirk just cackled and gave the thumbs up.
"The Jet-Black Hero: Quoth" Fumikage intoned getting a couple curious looks, "Dark Shadow won the coin toss. My idea was Tsukuyomi and he wants 'Nevermore' as a Hero Name.."
"Honestly like 'Quoth' better," Midna shrugged, "Tsukuyomi's kinda a dick if you read the myth about why he and Amaterasu split up and created the day and night cycle."
"I'll be the Stealthy Heroin: Invisi-gal!" Toru cheered.
"Determined Hero: Dekiru" Izuku stated his eyes burning with an inner fire.
"The Everything Heroin: Creati," Momo stated with a slightly embarrassed blush, "Though hearing everyone else's names I feel like it's a bit basic…"
"It's fine," Tsu said, reaching forward to pat the taller girl's back.
"I want the Mobile Heroin: Rocketti!" Pony cheered.
Nezu nodded, "I believe all that's left is Tokage-Chan."
"Eh," Setsuna shrugged, "My first idea 'Lizardy' just doesn't feel right anymore… I've got the first part down. That being the 'Long Reached Heroin', but the name itself is eluding me…," She tapped her chin a couple times, "Hmm… the 'Long Reached Heroin: Skatter' sounds alright."
Nezu nodded, "Now one last question… When the Sports Fest starts, do you want to use your Hero Names or your real names?"
As one the first years cheered, "Hero Names!"
Nejiri gained a wide grin, "I can't wait to see how my cute Kohai do in the Sports Fest…" A mischievous and slightly forbording then entered her eyes, "Hope you're ready. Because I'm going to put you all through some tough training to make sure you all dominate the festival!"
"I concur!" Nezu cackled, making most of the Chaos Core shudder. Only Hinata and Nejire were unaffected as Hinata had no desire to do anything in the Sports Fest, while Nejire already had a training schedule ready.
Author's Notes:
I FINALLY found a way to add Hinata to the story! This brings the Chaos Core up to 14 members [16 if you count Nezu and Dark Shadow… which I do] with only 2 of the student members not eligible for the Sports Fest… *evil grin* I am going to have so. Much. Fun. writing that event. I have more members in mind for the future, but many of them won't be joining any time soon.
Yes, that was a shout out to Gaijin Goomba's show 'Which Ninja' because it's so damn good I legit used it to help design my own Shinobi themed DND Character. Honestly considering doing a story based in my DND world with him as one of the main characters but I'm not sure yet.
Also I hope you all like my changes to a few people's hero names. I might change Setsuna's later on. Compared to some of the others 'Skatter' just feels subpar *shrugs*
And because I don't think I said it before, the game 'Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess' is the only game that wasn't made in this timeline, though I'm not sure what they got instead. Maybe the original idea where you play as a Male member of the Sheikah Tribe instead?
