"Looks like we are too late. The cultists must have succeeded in a sacrifice." Ellessia said, in an oddly calm voice, despite the temple floor being soaked in blood. Izaya sniffed around in cat form, seeing if he could tell how old the blood was. Most of it at least a day old, but among it he smelled something fresh. "Good thing the van gang and Shizu chan did not come. I think the otakus would pass out from this sight. And Shizu chan would blow his top and destroy the place before we could find evidence." He said in his usual mocking tone.
"Though, you seem really calm about this. You yourself say this is a life or death situation. The world itself could end. Yet you don't look even worried at all this carnage." He added looking at the dunmer, who now released her spell taking her true dark elf form. "In situations like this you must put aside emotions and fear. If you give into them, then you are useless in battle." She stated kneeling down and picking up a sword left among the blood. "An Akaviri katana, no. Not the right style. And strange handle..." She said staring at it. Izaya's crimson eyes widened as he recognized the blade. It was one of the many blades the serial killer Deadwolv carried.
But why would his sword be here, unless. Was it not the cultists who caused this mess, but him? Ellessia suddenly looked to her right as if sensing something. Perhaps so, she had that ring that let her see all life forces right? Maybe someone else was here. "Someone just escaped through the rafters. Very odd life essence. Not living, nor undead. But a mix almost." She said, getting her own sword ready, and tossing the Deadwolv blade aside.
Meanwhile waiting outside the temple in the van was the gang, along with Shizuo. "Remind me again why we are waiting out here and the flea and the lady are in there alone? If the killers are there, won't they need us?" Shizuo grumbled, about to light a cigarette. "Oi, no smoking in the van! I mean, please don't." Saburo scolded Shizuo, but then backed down when he saw the angry glare the blond gave him. "Ellessia can turn invisible so she can spy on them unseen. And they won't expect a cat to be a spy. If they have trouble, they send a signal. A fire ball to the sky." Kadota answered, though also not liking waiting out in the van.
"Whatever," Shizuo groaned, looking out the window and saw something. "Someone, is on the roof." The rest of the group turned to see what he was looking at, and everyone's face turned pale recognizing the silhouette. There was no mistaking the shadowy figure with claws and bladed hat. It was Deadwolv. "Oh no, what if he hurts Ellessia!" Saburo gasped about to get out of the van to run inside the temple to warn the dark elf. Before he could jump out of the driver seat though, Ellessia ran out of the temple with Izaya following close in cat form.
Ellessia stared up at the rooftop watching the figure closely. Deadwolv seemed to take notice of her, and tipped his hat in an almost comical way as if to say hello without saying a word. "What is that thing?" Ellessia gasped staring at him, as he began to quickly make his way down without any difficulties. Deadwolv quickly jumped down, and approached her in a matter of seconds. Saburo was now by Ellessia's side, ready to defend her if needed, and if possible.
"My my, what do we have here? Definitely not a cosplayer, cause that sword aimed at my throat is far too real for dress up." Deadwolv remarked coldly, yet almost jokingly. "Don't you dare touch her!" Saburo yelled, glaring at the killer. "Relax, I ain't gonna hurt her." The killer smiled, "Oi bastard. Who the hell did you tear up this time? Another poor kid?" Shizuo growled ripping a street sign out of the ground. At first the others did not understand why Shizuo asked that, until they saw what was in Deadwolv's left hand. An arm, a severed, well torn off arm. "Oh shit..." Erika gasped, backing away as Yumasaki reached for his makeshift flame thrower.
"What, this? " Deadwolv looked at the arm, then shrugged tossing it at Izaya. "Nyan!" Izaya yelped as the arm almost struck his tail. "I didn't kill anyone. Not this time." Deadwolv added. "Oh, so you just happened to find an arm?" Kadota glared at the killer, remembering what happened to Masaomi. "Oh no. I tore it off. Just they survived, and ran off before I could kill them." Deadwolv explained.
Izaya looked at the arm and realized. Deadwolv was most likely being honest. The skin on the arm was red and black, with long yellow clawed fingernails, and the wrist had a strange gauntlet armor made of some odd black burning stone. Deadwolv didn't hurt a human this time. But, one of the very demons Ellessia is hunting. "He's clean." Izaya stated, taking human form once sure no one but them were there. "This ain't from a human is it Ellessia?" He handed the arm to the dark elf. "Xiavil. A type of deadra. Impressed you tore off a Xiavil arm without losing your head." Ellessia looked where Deadwolv was, but. The killer had seemingly vanished. "Damn bastard escaped." Shizuo snapped his cigarette in half and tossed it to the ground.
