Celty was on the outskirts of the city. The dullahan had grabbed a few things from home and was about to leave for good. Humans die all the time, it was natural. But for Shinra to die, so young, and in a such a horrific way. It broke her. Both in spirit and heart. As annoying as the man was at times, she truly loved him. And she never guessed he would leave her so soon in life. Her phone buzzed loudly signifying she had a message. She debated turning it off, or even throwing it away. But against better judgement opened to see the message.
Instead of a written message it was a picture. A picture of Shinra sleeping in a bed. But, the timestamp said it was taken today just a few minutes ago. Celty's hand trembled. The number was one of Izaya's numbers. And she knew the fancy bedroom had to be Izaya's. Gripping her phone she rushed to Izaya's Ikebukuro apartment.
As she got there, she noticed the door was already broken down. The dullahan hesitated then entered looking around. She heard voices coming from the bedroom and followed them. In the room was Izaya talking to a familiar figure. "Shinra?!" She typed, shocked to see Shinra sitting there alive and well. "Celty!" Shinra smiled jumping up to hug her. But as she saw his face any joy she felt instantly vanished.
Shinra was pale, unnaturally so. His eyes had a crimson red tint, and his smile had two noticeably sharp teeth. No. It can't be. Shinra is a monster now? She backed away slightly. "Celty? " Shinra frowned seeing her reaction to his condition. He began to worry maybe she hated or feared him now.
Celty began to type on her phone. "What happened to you Shinra?" Shinra sighed. "Shortly after you left, someone knocked at the door. I went to see who it was, and it was some men. They managed to break down the door and attacked me...and. There was three of them. Each armed. I fought back as much as I could to try and escape. But one of them shot me. Last thing I saw was one of them aim his gun at my head. Before he could shoot, he screamed in pain, and I saw his arm...get torn off. I blacked out and when I came to, Izaya Kun had me here in his bed. " Shinra explained.
"So Deadwolv didn't kill you, it was some gang?" Celty was surprised by this revelation. "Yeah. But Wolv did kill one of my attackers. Then brought me here. And he well..." -"Threatened me. He demanded I turn Shinra or else he would stake me and pour holy water on me. Wolv can be as scary as an angry Shizu Chan sometimes." Izaya interrupted.
Shinra was alive. That was good. But, now he was a vampire. What if he isn't the same Shinra anymore. What if he becomes dangerous, or if someone learns and tries to hunt him? Celty began to feel hopeless. It was like she had lost Shinra despite him being there Infront of her. "Are you okay?" She finally typed out. Shinra nodded. "My body was in bad shape. But finally recovered. Also, Izaya Kun told me where I can get legal blood, that way I don't have to starve or hunt." Shinra said sitting back down.
After a few minutes of awkward silence, Celty hugged Shinra tightly. "Ah?" Shinra was surprised by the hug. "I am so glad you're alive. But, I don't know how to handle, your new condition. What if someone learns you are a vampire and tries to hunt you?" She began typing. "It will be fine. I promise. I have you. And I will be careful. No one will hurt me, okay?" Shinra smiled. Celty nodded her helmet and looked at Izaya.
"Keep his condition a secret or I will go through with Deadwolv's threat. Got it?" Izaya rolled his eyes. "Things you should know. Garlic will make you sick. Silver will burn you as will holy water. Stakes won't kill you unless made of silver. Sunlight won't hurt. But may make you tired." Izaya explained to the newly turned vampire. "As for blood. You now know where to get some. And you can eat normal food if you wish." He added.
"Let's go home now Shinra. We can figure out what to do from there." Celty got up and led Shinra to Shooter, giving him a shadow helmet. Not just for his safety for the ride. But also, so no one would recognize him.
