Disclaimer I in no way own Harry potter or Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. I'm just having some fun.

8: realizations
Jasmine Potter, Luna Lovegood, Susan Bones, and Daphne Greengrass found themselves awakening in the secret room. Daphne looks around her in surprise.
"Where are we, and how did we get here?"
Jasmine sits up. "This is a secret room under the grate hall. As to how we got here, the tome seems to transport any who read it to this room. Either once they finish reading a chapter, or maybe while they are reading. We're not sure witch."
Susan pulled herself to her feet. "I'm getting tired of asking this, but does anyone know what rune Karim picked up?" Each girl mentioned a different rune. "Wait" she held up her hand. "How is it possible for all of you to see 3 different runes?"
Daphne frowns. "Potter, what runes do you see in the tome?"
Jasmine opened the tome and turned to the spells section. "I have the runes for Chattur'gha, and Xel'lotath." Jasmine closed the tome.
Daphne frowned in thought for a few minutes. Then she got a gleam in her eyes. "Potter, please hand the tome to Lovegood."
Jasmine blinks, but after thinking about it for a minute hands the tome to Luna.
"Now what alignment runes do you see Lovegood" Daphne asked.
Luna opened the tome and turned to the spell section. She gazes at the possible alignment runes in surprise. "I have the Xel'lotath, and Ulyaoth runes" she says in a tone of surprise.
Jasmine and Susan look over at Luna as she closes the tome. Both wondering what it meant.
The gleam in Daphne's eyes had grown. "Now please hand me the tome Lovegood."
Without a word Luna handed the tome to Daphne. Daphne, like the others, opens the tome, and turns to the spell section. Glancing at the alignment runes she sees what she expected to see. "For me the runes are Ulyaoth, and Chattur'gha." Closing the tome she hands it back to Jasmine.
Susan frowns. "Now why are the alignment runes slightly different for each of you?"
Daphne settles back. "I think it's because each of us walks a different path through this time. Potter..."
Jasmine interrupts Daphne. "Why do you always call me my sir's name?"
Daphne blinks. "Because you haven't given me leave to use your given name."
Jasmine looks surprised. "It's not meant as an insult?"
This question made Daphne blink. "No. Why would you think that?"
Jasmine seems to shrink into herself. "Because whenever someone else would use my last name on its own it was because they had no respect for me as a person. More than once I have had to hide from my overweight cousin, and his even fatter father."
Susan frowns. "I don't understand. I was told you were raised in a hidden castle with the headmaster as your guardian. How do you not know what the rules of magical society are?"
Jasmine actually sneered. It took all 3 girls aback. "I don't know who told you that piece of garbage Miss Bones, but I was raised, if you can call it that, by my muggle aunt, and her fat husband. So, I never got taught the rules of magical society. In fact, my aunt and uncle hate magic so much that they wouldn't even allow the word to be spoken in their home."
Luna wrapped Jasmine in a hug as she began to break down.
Daphne scowled. "What is their last name Miss Potter?"
Jasmine looked up. "Dursley" she said from the safety of Luna's arms.
Daphne pulled out a notebook and scribbled down the name.
Susan cleared her throat. "What were you saying about the tome Greengrass?"
Daphne put her notebook away. "From what I can tell Miss Potter, Miss Lovegood and myself each represent a different possible choice Pius could have made. For Miss Potter Pius chose Chattur'gha. For Miss Lovegood Pius chose Xel'lotath. For me Pius chose Ulyaoth."
Susan frowns. "That's makes some sense. However, where does that leave me?"
It was Jasmine that spoke up. "I now suspect you represent the ancient that sits above the other 3. The ancient Mantorok."
Luna gives Jasmine a dreamy look. "What makes you say that?"
In response Jasmine points to a painting above the desk. This painting shows 4 sigils. Three of them are arranged in a triangle, while the fourth sits above the other 3.
"The red sigil " Jasmine says pointing to the sigil-colored red, "represents Chattur'gha. The green sigil represents xel'lotath, and the blue sigil represents Ulyaoth. The gray sigil that sits above the others represents Mantorok."
Daphne nods to Jasmine. "The first 3 represent more than just 1 of the ancients. Those under the red sigil represent health and strength. Those under the blue sigil represent magical ability. I don't know what those under the green or gray sigils represent."
"Green represents sanity" Luna says as she pulls away from Jasmine.
Susan blinks. "Is that why Karim appeared to be fighting things I couldn't see at 1 point?"
Luna nodded. "His sanity was low enough that he thought there were more corpses than there actually were."
Jasmine smiles. "Act least we know more now than before we started this. Now how's about we go find the next chapter page."
The other girls nodded as Jasmine rose to her feet.
Susan took Jasmine's left arm, while Luna took her right. "You have an idea where we should look Jasmine?"
Jasmine smiled as the girls left the secret room. ""That last puzzle Karim had to solve with whatever that large sword reminded me of something we saw in the kitchens.
"That large sword is called a Ram dao" Luna says. "It's a type of Brod sword."
Daphne gives Luna a strange look as the 4 of them reach the kitchen entrance.
As Jasmine tickles the pair to allow the girls entrance, Daphne asks, "How do you know what that sword is called Luna. I've never even seen a picture of it before."
Luna smiles as the girls enter the kitchen. "Daddy's family used to own 1 a long time ago. They were forced to sell it to help pay off a debt back about 500 years."
While the girls were discussing the Ram dao, Jasmine stops next to a green sigil on the wall. "Here we are" she says looking at the sigil on the wall.
The others look and see the sigil, as well as a slot for some kind of weapon below it.
As Jasmine pulls out Gladius Luna's eyes widen. "When did you grab that?"
Jasmine smiles. "After we completed the third chapter."
"Never mind when" Daphne says. "Where did you get that sword?"
Jasmine continues to smile. "It was hanging on the wall in the secret room where we all woke up. Luna and I saw it the first time we awoke there."
Opening the tome Jasmine turned to the spells section. Finding the "Enchant Item" spell Jasmine taps it. The triangle shape lights up, as do the 2 of the non-alignment runes. Reaching out Jasmine taps the rune for xel'lotath. This causes the time to zoom out to everything around Jasmine. Taking a deep breath Jasmine taps the Gladius she is holding. Gladius turns green, and the edge sharpens. As the spell ends Jasmine inserts Gladius into the slot under the green sigil on the wall. There is a click, and as Jasmine pulls Gladius back the wall transforms into a door.
There are squeals from the house elves as the door is revealed.
Before any of the elves can approach the door Jasmine pulls it open. Inside the girls see a pantry. on 1 of the shelves the girls see a spice jar. Inside that jar the girls see a chapter page.

An and that's this chapter. As you saw Jasmin is conciddered to be walking the red path in the game. Luna is conciddered to be walking the green path in the game, and Daphne is conciddered to be walking the blue path. Susan sits above all of them, and is conciddered to be walking the gray path. It's because of this that Susan hasn't been able to see when the charecters pick up any of the alignment runes or codexs. Next chapter we move on to chapter 5, and we get to see who's point of view we see the chapter from.
As always if you have a question or comment drop me a review, or send me a P.M. I hope you enjoyed the chapter, and I'll see you all next time.
