Halo Noble team origins
Chapter 1
Nov 15, 2537, New Harmony, MonastirSeven-year-old Catherine didn't know why her grandmother was dead. She didn't know that ever since 2525 humanity had been at war with a group of eight alien races known as the covenant. After all she was only seven. She saw from her perspective, a giant monster with a sword that had just killed her grandmother. The alien known as an elite was chasing her with the energy sword. It chased her all over the house trying to kill her. She tried hiding under a bed, but it found her. She tried hiding in a closet, but the elite found her. It prepared to strike a blow when Catherine heard a bang. The Elite fell over, and she saw something else. It appeared to be a human covered in armor. She could not see the person's face. It appeared to be holding a gun in its hand. Catherine said, "please don't kill me." it responded, "don't worry I am here to get you out of here." He took the little girl downstairs and she saw her grandmother's body. She tried to wake her grandmother up, but the armored person said, "I'm sorry kid but your grandmother is dead." Catherine Threw her arms screaming up and down saying, "no It can't be true, you're lying." The Armored person tried to drag the little girl out but suddenly an alien came through the door. It was around one and a half meters tall and had a tank on its back and a mask overing its mouth. It almost looked cute if there was not a glowing plasma pistol in its hands ready to fire. Before it did though the man in the suit grabbed his pistol off his waist and shot it numerous times. Catherine decided to stop complaining and follow the man.
Outside her house, Catherine's whole neighborhood was getting destroyed. There were dead civilians and army troopers covering the streets. Two totally different alien species looking like vultures saw them and raised their shields. The Man grabbed his assault rifle off his back and fired into the aliens. He targeted their hands and managed to hit them there. He killed both after he shot at their legs and shot both in the head.
The Man strapped Catherine in the passenger seat of the Warthog light armored scout vehicle. He got in the driver's seat, and he drove off. He drove for a while until a banshee flew overhead shooting at the warthog flipping it over.
Catherine regained consciousness and the man opened the door and took off her seatbelt and carried her out of the vehicle. He picked her up and sat her down on a rock. She looked at him scared and trembling and asked, "are you a robot?" He said no and took off his helmet. It revealed the face of a 17-year-old boy not an adult man. He had shaved black hair and blue eyes. It was surprising since he was 2.1 meters tall and had very light stubble on his face. He said, "my name is Carter." Catherine said, "I'm Catherine, who are you and why is your Russian so terrible." Carter responded, "I'm a spartan III super soldier and Russian is my second language, English is my first." She asked, "how old are you?" "Seventeen." He said, "would you like some water?" He pulled his canteen off his waist, and she drank the whole thing. Catherine had so many more questions like why these aliens killed her grandmother. But she knew the best one. She asked, "how do I become a spartan?" Carter responded, "The Covenant the name we gave these aliens killed my mom and dad, when I was 11 a man from the office of naval intelligence asked me If I wanted revenge for my family, I said yes, they took me to a planet called onyx where I around roughly 300 other children trained. It was hard Military stuff running, pushups, shooting. But I was so good they gave me augmentations early and made me a headhunter along with a few other Spartans, all 300 of the ones that weren't made headhunters died." Catherine said, "is any of this legal?" Carter responded, "no it's not." The sun started to set as it got dark.
Carter and Catherine both woke up in the middle of the night by the sound of plasma and gunfire. Carter quickly jumped in front of Catherine to cover her body from projectiles. After seeing figures of covenant fall down in a rain of bullets. Carter looked up and saw a large group of UNSC drones. The air-based models are called MQ-96 Support Drones. The ground-based models called MG-95 Support Drones looked like Spartans but robotic. One ground-based drone came up and said, "greetings you are Carter-A259 Spartan III?" Carter responded, "yes and I have one civilian survivor with me." the drone said, "excellent sir me and some other models shall escort you to the transports." Cater told Cathreine what the drone had said but in Russian.
Carter and Catherine followed the drones until they encountered a large group of brutes. Giant hairy gorilla like aliens with blueish grey armor. One fired a group of beige needles from its gun called a brute spiker. It caused one of the airborne drones to fall to the ground and explode. The airborne drones shot the brute with lasers killing it. The airborne drones shot lasers and ground-based ones fired rifles. The battle continued between the brutes and the UNSC drones. The Ground based drone took Carter and Catherine into a passageway and said, "hurry we are almost the." It was cutoff after being shot in half with a brute shot. The top half said, "go I will self-destruct." Carter and Catherine ran but looked back as they felt the ground shake. They saw multiple brutes being engulfed in an explosion.
After a bit longer Carter managed to get Catherine to the civilian transport. Two soldiers stood guarding it. Carter said, "I have one civilian girl with me her family is dead."
In early 2539 at age 9 a man from ONI asked Catherine if she wanted revenge. Just like Carter told her. She learned to speak English. She became a spartan III and was so good at it she was pulled off to make a headhunter along with Scarlett, Owen and Chris and others she forgot the names of. She would give herself the nickname Kat.
Chapter 2
May 15, 2542, planet onyx, Camp Currahee
Kat was 12 years old, and she was a child soldier working for ONI. She and the other headhunters got their augmentations early. She was about to be paired up with another spartan headhunter. She was surprised to see the spartan that saved her life. Carter was standing right in front of her. His hair was a bit longer on the top since she last saw him. He was also older. Carter spoke, "Catherine do you remember me?" Kat saluted and responded, "yes sir I could never forget you." He said, "you don't have to call me sir even though I outrank you, also you can speak English now." Kat said, "ok sir you can call me Kat if Catherine is too long." Carter said, "Ok Kat I shall brief you on the mission." He opened the computer and showed a file. It was a brute chieftain named Harbium. The file read he killed Hundreds of soldiers, dozens of ODSTs and even a general and an Admiral. Kat said, "can't wait to nail this son of a bitch sir." Carter said nice haircut your hair was a bit longer last time I saw you. She touched her buzzed hair.
After being put onto UNSC frigate Line of Fury in cryosleep. It took around a week to get to an unknown jungle planet like onyx. Carter took her down a hallway saying to her, "You will get your own set of Mjolnir Powered Assault Armor like mine." He walked her into a room with two sets of armor. They were both blue but one was smaller and had a lighter color then the other. Kat was 180 Cm at age 12 due to her augmentations. She looked like and adult woman, so she assumed that is why no one questioned the Spartans being child soldiers. She stood and some technicians and a machine put her armor on. After putting all her Titanium body armor around her black undersuit. She grabbed her helmet. It had a white visor quite different from Carter's gold one.Kat put the helmet on her head and saw several electrical systems come online. He stepped off the platform and saw Carter in his full armor. They both grabbed assault rifles and pistols off the gun rack and walked into a pelican dropship. The Spartans sat along with a bunch of army troopers. The Pelican detached from the frigate and descended from the ship to the surface.
Carter felt a bit rumbling as the ship touched the ground. All the Army troopers left the dropship first. Carter and Kat left the Pelican last. They saw a clearing in the jungle with a small base with soldiers walking around. An ODST greeting them by saying, "sergeant Jackson sir." Carter said, "get your men ready I want to leave in five." Sergeant Jackson responded, "sir yes sir."
Five minutes later the two Spartans, six ODSTs and two dozen army troopers were walking through the jungle. Kat said over the private spartan comms, "well commander I'm glad for these air-conditioned suits." After walking on for a bit longer sergeant Jackson slipped in the mud and fell down. He got up again and said, "my foot's stuck." Carter and Kat tried to pull him out but suddenly a bolt of green plasma came out the front of his visor. He fell to the ground as blood started leaking out of the hole in his visor. Carter, Kat, the five remaining ODSTs and the 24 army troopers got behind cover. Carter spotted one Jackel sniper with a carbine in its hands. Carter said, "single target lay down some covering fire." The army troopers and ODSTs opened fire causing the Jackel sniper to shoot at them.
Carter and Kat sprinted up the hill behind the Jackel sniper and managed to get behind it and tried to turn around, but Carter and Kat opened a burst of fire. It started oozing purple blood from its wounds. They descended the hill and Carter said over his comms, "target neutralized." The sky turned from blue to grey as it started to rain and thunder as the five remaining ODSTs dragged sergeant Jackson's body out of the ditch he was in. They continued their long march on. Carter spotted a large group of orange metallic triangles poking up from the green jungle underbrush. Carter said, "grunts, they are sleeping so take them out quietly." Suddenly one of the grunts woke up and fired a plasma pistol hitting an army trooper in the chest. The UNSC forces opened fire tearing the grunts apart with a hail of bullets. Carter and Kat shot the grunts, their masks and gas tanks breaking off as methane came out of them. Soon all the grunts were dead. The Spartans head a womans scream in the background. They ran and found one of the army troopers who was hit with a supercombine of needles from a needler. Her chest burst open; her organs visible.
The kill team now having lost two members continued until they saw a clearing. It was full of ghosts and wraith tanks. There were grunts patrolling and engineers fixing the tanks. Engineers were aliens that floated with gas sacs on their backs. The UNSC forces put Lotus anti-tank mines on the tanks and the fuel pipes. The kill team ran back inside the jungle, Kat pushed the detonator and caused a massive explosion.The UNSC forces opened fire on the covenant forces. One grunt got in a shade turret and opened fire killing two army troopers. Carter grabbed a rocket launcher from them and opened fire destroying the banshee started to take off, but Carter shot it down. A brute chieftain who Kat immediately identified as Harbium. Three army troopers and an ODST walked up to the banshee. Harbium grabbed a gravity hammer and killed all three. He saw the Spartans and tried charging towards them. Kat shot him with her assault rifle. Most of the shots bounced off his armor but one went through his leg causing him to fall to his knees. He dropped the hammer and picked up a brute shot he started to fire. Carter snuck up behind him and stabbed him in the neck. They looked and saw 15 army troopers and four ODSTs surviving the mission.
Chapter 3
Aug 17,2545, planet reach, Spartan facility
Carter and Kat walked down the halls of the spartan facility on reach. All Spartans pulled from Alpha Company and Beta Company were moved to Reach. Kat said, "who is this new team we've been assigned to.' Carter responded, "it's made up of three former headhunter teams including us, all Alpha Company and all men except you." Kat said, "damn I feel like an outsider now."
They walked in a room with four men. Two were White, one was Indian, and one was Black. The largest one with a buzzcut and a bit of stubble spoke, "I'm Jorge a spartan II who has been put on this team." He has a British accent. The other bald white man with neck and face tattoos spoke, "I'm Jun Noble team's sniper." He had an eastern European accent instead of Russian like Kat's it appeared to be Estonian. The Indian man spoke, "I'm Thom." Finally, the black man with a shaved head and a bit of stubble on his face spoke, "Emile, that's my name, don't wear it out." Kat had recently heard that most of Beta Company was wiped out during operation torpedo. Only two members who weren't pulled off survived, Tom and Lucy. All of Alpha Company were killed during operation Prometheus in 2537. Minus the ones that weren't pulled off.
Carter said, "we will be working with a spartan II team called blue team." Jorge said, "I know them the leader of the spartan IIs, the Master Chief, John 117." After preparing to meet blue team Emile found a female spartan with her helmet off sitting down. She had the number 087 on her armor. She had shaved brown hair and blue eyes and was staring at a photo. Emile said, "who's in the photo a younger you and two other guys?" "What your ex-boyfriend." The female spartan responded, "none of your fucking business." She spoke with a British accent. Emile responded, "Hit a nerve have I." Emile had a New York accent. The female spartan responded, "you have a knack for pissing people off don't you." Emile said, "oh sorry your boyfriend died, jeez you're so sensitive." The female spartan stood up and punched Emile in the stomach. She then punched him in the face. She was larger and taller than Emile. He responded by tackling her to the ground. The female spartan said, "shit John and Carter are coming we better stop." "Agreed." They stopped fighting and the female spartan said, "Kelly." "Emile." Kelly said, "that was Samuel a close friend of mine." Emile said, "sorry I didn't know."The Spartans of noble team met the other blue team member Fred and Linda. They had devised a plan. They would get UNSC drones to cause a distraction while they slipped in. Their goal was to recapture a ship from the covenant. They got onto a Condor a Larger Pelican modified for slipspace. They Entered the condor and traveled to the ship.
After a few hours of flying through space, "John said to Carter, "sir we are dropping out of slipspace." Fred said, "activating all 20 MG-95 Support Drones." The Two spartan teams could see the ship now. All of the crew were presumed to be dead. The Covenant rarely took Prisoners and only took them for information or for food. Blue teams Job was to wipe all the navigation data, while Noble team's job was to destroy the reactors.
All twenty drones left the back of the condor with thruster packs and went to the main hanger. The hanger glowed green with plasma rifle a pistol fire. The spartan knew this was an elite lead ship. The Spartans waited until the firing stopped and the thruster packed into the hanger. All of the drones were destroyed. When they came in and they opened fire on the few grunts, Jackels and elites that survived. Soon all of them were dead. Blue and Noble teams split up. Blue team went to the bow of the Ship to try and wipe its navigational data. Noble team went to the engine room.
John, Fred, Kelly and Linda fought their way through an army of grunts, jackals and elites. They got to shut the door, and it was locked. Fred said, "wait sir I have an idea. He grabbed two grenades off his belt, then threw them at the door and they ducked into cover. Blue team heard a large bang. They went into the room and two Hunters started to attack them. They fired their fuel rod cannons at them. The Spartans fired but their massive shields just blocked them. John and Linda through grenades at their feet Knocking them to the ground. Kelly ran behind the stunned hunter and slashed each one across the back with her combat knife. They both fell dead. There were a bunch more elites in the room some with carbines, plasma rifles and needlers shooting at them. Others had energy swords and charged towards them. All were mowed down by bullets. The Ultra leading them activated and energy sword in one hand and a plasma pistol in another. Kelly Charged up to him and Knocked Him down the shot him in the head killing him.
Noble team was fighting their way through Covenant forces in the reactor room. Jorge grabbed his minigun and shot the reactors, destroying them. Kat said, "we only have a few minutes to get out of here." The Spartans ran back to the hanger and used thruster packs to get back to the pelican. They entered the open door and saw blue team already there. They went into slipspace as soon as the ship exploded.
Chapter 4
Apr 24, 2548, Planet reach, spartan base
The War had continued on with the UNSC losing. Planet after planet was getting glassed. Carter was now 27 and Kat was now 18. Carter went into Kat's room and said, "Kat can I talk to you." She said, "of course Carter." Carter responded, "thank you for saving my life." "No need to thank me."
Carter grabbed Kat on the back of her head digging his fingernails into the back. He put his other hand on her back and pressed his lips to hers. Kat was shocked about Carter kissing her. He stopped and he said, "Kat I'm sorry that was inappropriate of me." He then left her room.
Kat then walked into Carters room and said, "Carter what the hell was that. Carter said, "sorry about that." Kat then grabbed Carter by his neck and back and kissed him on the lips. Carter enjoyed this and they started making out. Carter grabbed her shirt and took it off. He then began to kiss her breasts. Kat grabbed his pants and pulled them down and began to grab his penis.
Soon they were completely naked and went to bed. Carter went on top of Kat and kissed her neck. He whispered into her ear, "Catherine, I love you." He then kissed her on the cheek. Kat responded, "I love you too." She then returned the kiss on the cheek. Carter began to stroke her.
After having sex, the previous night. Carter said, "well Kat how am I." Kat responded, "you're the only man who I've slept with." After getting dressed and leaving.
Chapter 5
Jul 23, 1815 hours, 2552, reach
Kat was reading a file for the new Spartan. Thom had been killed on Fumirole by a fury Tacitical nuclear Bomb. He had snuck it on to a ship to destroy it. He failed to get off the ship in time. He destroyed the ship but ultimately the planet was glassed.
Kat also had her right arm damaged by a blast and got a prosthetic to replace it. The problem was that ONI had Covered much of the file with black ink. She Knew that this new Spartan was a Beta Company Spartan 3 like her. She was also a woman like Kat. B312 was her number. Kat couldn't figure out her name.
Carter came in the room and said, "Kat who's our new noble six. Kat responded, "sir I don't know most of this file is covered in black ink." Carter grabbed the file and opened the computer. Crater said, "Kat can you hack this file. Kat said, "sure commander, but I might need a few minutes."
After a few minutes Kat said, "done." Carter looked at the file. Her name was Scarlett. She had short blonde hair and green eyes. She had black armor. Kat says, "the file says that she is an assassin." "She was used to kill high value covenant targets." Kat said, "Shit she may be a Psychopath."Chapter 6
Aug 30, 2200 hours, planet reach, Asźod shipbreaking yardsScarlett had just been stabbed by an elite zealot. She had managed to pick up her assault rifle and kill the zealot. She crawled over to her discarded helmet. She was trying to talk to Jun. He was at castle base. He had been given orders to escort Dr Halsey off planet. She created the spartan IIs like Jorge. Jorge, Kat, Carter and Emile had all been killed in the battle for Reach. Jorge sacrificed his life detonating a bomb on a covenant Supercarrier after the remote detonator broke. Kat was shot in the head by an Elite field marshal with a modified needle rifle strong enough to go through spartan armor. Carter scarified himself by crashing his pelican to destroy a scarab walker. Emile was stabbed by an elite zealot.
Jun's voice appeared on the speaker. Hello Scarlett, what's happening? She said, "I got stabbed by an Elite zealot and I'm dying. Jun felt upset buy this fact as He and her has a brief romantic relationship in the past month. Between missions they slept together only once. Jun said, "wait I will find your location I'm leaving Castle Base in a pelican with some ODSTs, I will pick you up, Halsey is dead." Scarlett responded, "well Noble 3 it was Nice Knowing you Noble six out, Goodbye Jun." She lay dead. Jun said, 'Scarlett oh fuck are you alright speak to me."
Epilogue
. In March of 2553 Blue team found John in cryosleep in the Foward unto Dawn orbiting the Ark.
. Jun managed to survive the fall of reach. In March of 2553 He was discharged from Military service along with the rest of surviving Spartan III Alpha and Beta Companys and the Spartan IIs.
. Dr Halsey managed to survive and in 2553 she was Imprisoned along with Chief Petty officer Mendez for creating child soldiers. They tried to escape in March 2553 when Spartans Fred-104 and Kelly 087 were visiting them. They managed to kill the guards though when Mendez tried to Kill Fred, Fred ripped his thought out. Kelly managed to recapture Halsey.
. In 2554 Halsey managed to escape prison successfully. In 2589 after giving a sermon to noble team specifically noble six/ Scarlett. After that she was tracked down a murdered by Ellen Parisa, a retired marine and a close childhood friend of John/Mater chief before she kidnapped him along with all the other spartan IIs.
. Many retired Spartans had Children. John and Kelly Had a son named Samuel. Fred and Linda had a daughter named grace. Spartans IIIs Owen and Hazel had a daughter.
