Spirals of Shadows
Into the Unknown
Chapter 1
He looked around. He was in an arena, with a crowd cheering for him. A jet black figure was talking, but he couldn't figure out what it was saying. He stared in shock at who was in front of him–well, him in the nightmare. Nya held a spear in a defensive stance, and he was charging at her. He could tell there was something off. The spear and sword crossed, and the scene vanished. He was in the Monastery this time. Garmadon was there, too. LORD Garmadon. This time, he could clearly make out what he was saying. "You felt darkness. That place changed you. In order to combat it, you must learn to control the darkness to be able to harness the Globe's power." Again, the scene vanished, and he was in a place he didn't recognize. His friends were there, but he didn't see himself. He could tell they were arguing–not with an enemy, but with Nya. He felt something shaking him.
"Zane. Zane, you need to wake up. Right now. It's an emergency." Zane sat up, breathing hard.
"Cole! I just had a vision! There was an arena, and Garmadon…and…and…"
"Whoa, take it easy, buddy. You sure it was a vision? Could count as a nightmare," Cole asked.
"I'm positive it was a vision," Zane replied.
"How positive?" Cole responded.
"Ninety-eight point nine percent positive," Zane said.
"Well, if it is a vision, then that's a percentage I'd like to see drop. But seriously, there's something going on down in the hangar," Cole said, tugging Zane.

The rest of the ninja were already in the underground base when Cole and Zane walked in, coming up with a plan. "Jay, you and Kai should come in here. It's the best place to attack the trucks. Zane, Nya, you two take this point and aim for the main truck." Master Wu instructed, pointing to different places on the map. The ninja had been waiting for a shipment of vengestone to be moved across Ninjago. They had encountered a gang, and found a map with vengestone shipment details.
"What about Lloyd?" Nya asked.
"Lloyd, P.I.X.A.L, and I will meet you here to pick you up," Wu responded, pointing to another spot.
"All right. Sounds like a plan," Lloyd said. "Come on, ninja! Time to gear up!" each ninja pulled on their hoods and leaped into their vehicles. The door opened, and they zoomed out.

Nelson tossed a newspaper up, and a man caught it before it could fall. He then took another paper and threw it to a woman sitting in a chair. Antonia pulled out an article and tossed it at a teen, who was scrubbing a car. "Hey, Nelson, what do you say we hit the noodle house after this?" Antonia asked him while throwing another paper to another teen who was skateboarding.
"Sure thing," he replied. Before he could get another word in, a jet-black figure was blocking their path. The two friends braked hard to avoid crashing into it; they weren't fast enough, but instead of hitting it, they rode right through it. They blinked. "Did that just happen?" Nelson asked.
"It looks like it," Antonia replied. She turned into a back alley, and the figure started to chase them. She tried throwing her other stack of newspapers at it, but that went right through, too. "Come, on, this way!" She yelled. Hopefully, if we zig-zag enough times and take random streets, we can lose this guy, she thought.
