Chapter 2: The first glitch

Jax approached the group of people that were his "friends."

"Hey gang, what's up? Sorry I'm late. What'd I miss?"

"Nothing much. Unless you call another game of catch the gloinks exciting. Anyway, I'm not doing it. '' Zooble responded.

Gloinks were shaped objects that bounced everywhere and stole everything they could by sticking to other objects.

"That game again?! Didn't we already get those?!" Jax particularly didn't like this game because last time they played it, one of the gloinks got sassy enough to smack him in the face with its block-shaped body. They were annoying and that really hurt. Jax definitely wasn't doing that game again. "Yeah, sorry Caine, but I'm not doing this again. I'm out."

"Aw, come on! Zooble! Jax! …Well, there goes that."

Jax couldn't even hear Caine anymore. As he was walking, it felt almost as if he was escaping to some part of his mind he couldn't even understand, not just escaping the stupid game. Everything was drowned out…just these strange thoughts…about…escaping? Jax suddenly shook his head, snapping out of whatever took him out of reality.

"That was…weird." Jax checked himself for any glitching. Nothing. "What…what just happened?"

He couldn't figure out if he somehow did it to himself, or if someone might've hacked into his brain…or at least he was guessing someone could, since he was now "part of '' the digital circus. He hoped it wasn't that case.

What was worse than glitching, abstracting, or being stuck here? Jax didn't want to think about that. Things were better if you didn't think about them too much. That would also make you less of a victim of insanity. Was that why he was more chill than the rest of the others? Well, at least as chill as he pretended than how he actually was. He definitely wasn't ok with being here, most of the time he was only pretending to be fine, he didn't feel comfortable with other people knowing about his problems and feelings. He didn't want anyone to think he was weak, much less vulnerable.

This place was entirely unstable, there was no way of knowing what was going to happen, or what someone was going to do…Jax didn't like the feeling that someone might be plotting against him or trying to sabotage his mission to get out of here, or even discover what he was trying to do in the first place. So he kept everything locked away, behind the closed doors of his bedroom and mind.

However, it was helpful to have keys to everyone's room, so he could figure out what secrets they might have. Jax didn't even know how he got them, he just had them since he entered into the digital circus and realized he could open any door with them. So far, he hadn't discovered anything, other than the "lame" secrets.

Yes, he had keys to every door…all except to wherever Caine goes. Him and Bubble were the only AI's in the digital circus, putting them in the position of most powerful and capable in the circus. Even though they couldn't make everything happen-like creating a real exit that would get them all out of here-they had access to places unknown to everyone, and since Jax didn't know either, nor could he follow the two because they just would pop out of thin air and then be in whatever place they go, he currently couldn't do anything, or find out anything from them, especially since they were the most suspicious people in the circus.

Anyway, he was gonna go investigate now, or just hang around, since Caine chose the worst possible game today…or maybe continue to wonder what just happened a minute ago.
