This day has come. The day this man allowed me to leave the White Room. The day when I will finally be able to see the world outside in almost its entirety.
It was with these thoughts in mind that I drove to my new high school.
Kodo Ikusei is a prestigious high school institution with the most modern facilities you can imagine. Almost every graduate goes to college, university or finds a job without any problems. According to this man, this school is my last exam before I can become a full-fledged masterpiece in his eyes, and after that, the ruler of Japan. But, to be honest, I was completely out of my mind right now, because I was looking forward to my next three years of relative freedom. Even very relative freedom, because I still had one condition in order to stay at this school without worries. Namely, never restrain your strength and give your best.
About two months ago, this man came up to me. His figure might have caused an unprepared individual to have an inner fear for his life, but I had nothing to fear. After all, when I met him, my survival rate up to this point was and still is the most 100%.
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't interested in what he had to say, but it probably wouldn't be too important to me. After all, every time his mouth opens in my presence, I can only hear something like: "Try harder, Kiyotaka."; "Use all your strength, Kiyotaka."; "Kill/Finish him/her off, Kiyotaka.". In general, nothing interesting.
– Kiyotaka, I want you to take your final exam. Judging by your current abilities, you would ideally pass any test related to physical or academic stress, but there is another very important aspect in the life of any modern person. This aspect is social life. But the White Room does not provide training in skills of this kind. So far, it does not provide. So you will learn this in your future school. The chairman of the school is an old acquaintance of mine, so you won't have any problems getting into it.
– Ok.
The day after this one-on-one conversation, I was taken to a place where I would never have been able to find myself before. The two of us were driven in a long black limousine to the walls of the largest and most influential educational institution in all of Japan.
We quickly passed a large gate made of natural stone. A light breeze with a slight salty taste blew right in my face. Is this what they call freedom? The people living here are really lucky in life. In that place, I couldn't even feel something as simple as a natural breeze.
Anyway, me and this person came here to meet with a certain chairman Sakayanagi, who, apparently, was one of the people running this amazing place. I could say that he really had a certain amount of his own power, since this man was not even able to enter the territory of this educational institution with his retinue of a bunch of bodyguards.
But even considering this fact, the two of us were still allowed through the gates of the school, where we followed one of the people working here. After a while, we came to what you might call the director's office. There was already a man waiting for us inside, whom you could call the chairman of this place.
This person and the chairman first had a private conversation with each other, after which they invited me to join their important conversation.
– Good afternoon, Ayanokoji Kiyotaka-kun, glad to meet you. I've already heard about your abilities from your Ayanokoji-sensei. I also know the reason why he wants to enroll you in this school. I'm not against your admission, but you still need to write this test and talk to me a little bit.
– Why?
– If someone tries to find out the number of points you have scored for your written and oral survey, then they will have no reason to consider your admission to school dishonest. This can create unnecessary problems.
– I see.
After the explanations given to me, I quickly passed the test for one hundred points and had a short conversation with the chairman.
– Well, Ayanokoji Kiyotaka, you're enrolled in Kodo Ikusei. I think we'll send you to Class A or B, right?
– Sorry, Sakayanagi, I want my son to be enrolled in Class D.
For the first time in such a short conversation this man said at least something, inserting his five yen into this case.
– May I know the reason?
As far as I understand, classes in this school will be distributed according to some kind of hierarchy, but it is still unknown which one. But if I understood correctly, then class D is the worst of all.
– Kiyotaka, I know that you want a quiet and peaceful life in class A, where you will not be touched and you will be able to serve all three years without practically acting. However, I forbid you to hide and restrain your powers. To pass this exam, you must make class A out of class D, after which you will have to go to any other class and do the same with it. Only a true leader is able to make a masterpiece even with the help of garbage. However, you will not stop there, you will make any other class A class again. Only then will you be able to prove that you are a leader who can freely resist even his own people.
– Ayanokoji-sensei, I'm sorry to interrupt you, but switching to another class is not a free opportunity.
It is clear that this school will have a paid transfer to another class. It is possible that you will have to pay for a lot of things here, since even transferring students between classes is something for which you have to give at least something.
– It's not a problem for him.
The conditions set surprised me a little, but if this is the price of my temporary freedom, then of course I agree. After all, you would prefer freedom to be in that white place forever.
– I will make class A out of class D, and then I will do the same with other classes.
– Great.
No matter how strange and difficult the task may be, I will try to cope with it. After all, that's what I was created for. I always accomplish my mission.
While I was thinking about it, an unusual situation occurred. A girl with short blond hair was standing next to a rather old woman. She was arguing with the blond man over the seat he was sitting on. This guy made quite strong arguments as to why his duties did not include something like simply freeing up space on public transport. In fact, the truth was on his side, because judging by his physique and self-expression through speech, he could really mean a lot more to the modern state and society than some old lady who finds it difficult to stand.
– Can anyone vacate their seat?
Apparently, she realized that arguing with that guy was a waste of time, so she decided to make others feel guilty. She seemed to have succeeded, because the people around me were clearly getting a little nervous. I wonder how I would feel in their place? It's a pity that I still don't feel anything. I wonder if I give in now, will anything change? It's worth a try.
– Excuse me, I can give up my seat.
I raised my hand slightly and pointedly stood up from my seat, drawing attention to myself. Most people looked at me with a sudden sense of relief, as they really didn't want to give up their comfortable seats to some old lady.
– Thank you very much!
The girl put the old lady where I had just been sitting. Then she turned to me and smiled. Many of those who looked at us regarded this sign as negative, so I could hear phrases like: "Lucky/Lucky bastard..." Maybe I should have stayed where I was and not made a sound, so as not to get into such an unpleasant situation.
– My name is Kushida Kike. You can just use first name if want so. What's your name?
I don't know why, but despite the smile on her face, she still exuded a strange or even suspicious aura. I'm not going to trust her, the girl is clearly hiding something and maybe even plotting something. Is she hoping to control me as one of those stupid idiots with only one woman's breast on their mind? It won't wait.
But in any case, I can't just ignore it, as it could cause a greater and at the same time unpleasant resonance, which I would like to avoid.
– Ayanokoji Kiyotaka.
– Nice to meet you, Ayanokoj-kun!
Even after her smile, my opinion of her has not changed. bShe may become a hindrance in the future./b I hope this doesn't happen, otherwise I'll have to waste my precious time thinking about how to get her out of my way. Although, in the end, no one will stop me.
While I was thinking about it, I felt some kind of strange gaze that seemed to be fixed on me, from another person. Turning my head slightly, I saw a girl with long dark hair. One of her strands was braided into a pigtail. It seemed that she was interested in me, and not in my interlocutor, whom I already find problematic.
When she saw me looking at her, she turned away. Interesting… This is a standard reaction for girls, isn't it?
Soon the bus arrived at its destination and stopped in front of the high school where these students will spend the next three years.
Stop. Take a deep breath. Well, go ahead!
– Wait.…
I heard very-very familiar, but already rather annoying voice that came from behind.
– Ayanokoji-kun, let's go to school together?
Well. I guess I'll have to go with her. As much as I want to, I don't want to make myself look bad on the first day. Moreover, I have an assumption that this girl will clearly become popular sooner or later in school circles, which is why it is better for me to maintain a minimum normalized relationship with her.
– Okay, let's go.
– Hooray!
Kushida gave me her suspiciously fake smile again and slowly walked towards the entrance. I decided to just follow her. However, as soon as my feelings got the better of me, I was lucky enough to look back at the bus in time. There I noticed the displeased look of the girl with the long hair and pigtail. It's strange, is she really so disgusted with me, because we haven't even talked to her once?
Anyway, it's not that important. I caught up with Kushida and went to school with her. Before going inside, we somehow strangely separated, although we clearly should have had the same path.
