I don't own Harry Potter or the Characters, JK Rowling does.

Ever since the whole poisoning thing, Lavender had been very angry. Hermione didn't want to feel bad for her but she kind of did. After Ron got out of the hospital wing, Hermione might have let him know about her feelings without words. It was a mistake only because Ron hadn't officially broken up with Lavender at the time.

Since then, Hermione and Ron haven't really talked about their relationship. Hermione didn't mention that while it was her first time, it was clearly not Ron's. That broke her heart, but they hadn't been together, so it wasn't her business.

Now that Dumbledore was killed by Snape, Hermione knew it was stupid to even be thinking of something so trivial. Harry was heartbroken, her and Ron needed to be there for him. So, her and Ron seemed to have an unspoken agreement not to talk about sleeping together. She didn't regret the act; she regretted the timing. She thought it may have been awkward with Ron, but it wasn't, in fact it was calmer between them.

It wasn't until she was home for a week before she realized she was late. Like really late. Like three weeks late. She went to the shop and bought a pregnancy test. When it came back positive, she felt sick, not sure if it was for the pregnancy or panic.

She knew in less than a month she would be going to Bill's wedding. Then with any luck go off with Harry and Ron looking for the Horcruxes. Hermione knew that if Ron and Harry knew she was pregnant they would try to convince her not to go with them. She didn't know how she felt about the baby, but she knew she couldn't get rid of it. Maybe if she just didn't think about it, the solution would come to her.

Before she left her parents' house she obliviated them, she cried so hard when she walked out the door. There was no way she was going to tell anyone about her pregnancy, especially Harry or Ron.

Once the protection spell was broken and Kingsley let them know that the Minister was dead, things went wrong, real wrong.

Hermione grabbed Harry and Ron's hands but at the last-minute Ron let go and pulled away. It was too late, she and Harry disapparated.

The next few months were hell, literal hell. Harry and Hermione had been attacked several times. They had even been taken to the Malfoy Mansion and she was tortured by Bellatrix. Dobby had saved them but paid the price for it.

She was surprised she didn't go into early labour with the torture. She was eight months pregnant and still hiding her pregnancy from Harry. They hadn't heard anything from Ron since the day they disappeared. They even waited longer than they should at Grimmauld Place for Ron to show up, he never did.

They had to make it okay that he stayed at the Burrow. His family needed him, but so did her and Harry. It wasn't until they were at the final battle with the rest of the Weasleys they found out they had been wrong. The Weasleys thought he was with them, and they thought he was still with his family.

Hermione saw someone leaning over Lavender, attacking her. Hermione was able to send him flying. She ran over to Lavender and knelt down. Lavender's hand was on her throat, her eyes wide with panic. Her eyes locked with Hermione's.

She was saying something, but Hermione couldn't hear.

"What? I can't hear you, I'm so sorry." It was clear to her that's Lavender's neck wound was fatal. Hermione leaned down closer, putting her ear next to Lavender's mouth.

"Baby," Lavender whispered, her voice strained and fading.

For a moment Hermione thought she had realized that Hermione was pregnant but that's when she saw Lavender's hand. It was on her stomach. Her stomach looked flat, but her hand was raised further up.

Hermione reached out and put her hand over Lavender's and moved it lower. She felt a kick. "Oh no," she said.

"Save my baby," Lavender got out before she paled to a deathly colour, and her eyes were now looking at Hermione but unseeing.

"HELP!" Hermione yelled.

Professor Trelawney ran over, Hermione remembered Lavender being one of the teacher's favorites.

"Oh, my poor girl," Professor Trelawney said, her hand running over Lavender's cheek.

"LATER! THE BABY IS GOING TO DIE IF WE DON'T GET IT OUT!" Hermione yelled.

Trelawney finally looked at what Hermione was doing. Now that Lavender was gone, the enchantment she was using to hide her pregnancy was lifted. Lavender wasn't just pregnant she looked overdue.

Parvati found them and she along with Trelawney magically did a c-section on Lavender. After an excruciating thirty seconds, Parvati was able to get the baby to cry. For the first time since everything started to happen Hermione could breathe for a whole minute until the most pain she'd ever felt in her life including being tortured by Bellatrix hit her.

"Oh, dear, are you alright?" Trelawny asked.

It was then Hermione knew it was time to tell the truth, she feared she was losing her baby. She took off the disillusionment on her and revealed her stomach.

"We need to get you to the hospital wing," Trelawney said.

"It was destroyed," Parvati said, she was holding the newborn of her dead best friend to her chest as if the hide her from the horror happening around them.

Just then, Voldemort made an announcement to collect their dead. Hermione gave birth to her son amongst her dead friends and peers.

It was over, it was really and truly over. Harry killed Voldemort and now it was time to grieve their lost.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Harry asked when he finally made it to her.

"I thought you wouldn't let me come along."

"Too right, Hermione, you and the baby could have died."

"If you're waiting for me to apologize you're going to wait a long time. You would have been dead five times over if it wasn't for me."

Harry at least looked a little embarrassed because he knew it was true. "Who's the father?"

"Who do you think?"

"I thought he would be here. I don't understand where he went." Fred had almost died in the final battle, he narrowly escaped with his life because Percy had been able to throw a shield around him when a wall exploded behind him. Ron was the only Weasley not accounted for.

"Me either."

Hermione looked up and saw Parvati coming towards her with the little bundle in a pink blanket.

"Do you know where Ron is?" Parvati asked.

"No. Why?" Harry replied.

"Because I can't show up back home with a baby. Since this little girl's mother is dead she at least needs to be with her father."

Hermione gasped. "Ron's her father?"

"Yeah, I didn't even know Lavender was pregnant until we heard that the Death Eaters and like were coming. I think she knew she wouldn't live through it, she wanted someone to know who the baby's father was. I tried to make her leave, but she is…was so stubborn. Ca-Can you have him name her Rose? Lavender always loved that name, she used to tell me she wanted to name her daughter that. It was years ago but still…"

Parvati gently handed the baby to Harry and left, wiping a tear from her eye.

"WHERE THE HELL IS RON?" Hermione demanded.

Ron lost track of time a long time ago. At first he thought he would be rescued soon. After many failed attempts to save himself, he just decided to wait it out. He could handle the torture, even if he would have scars for the rest of his life because of it, inside and out. But it was the loneliness that he was sure would kill him.

He only got to see his captor once a week. They would throw a loaf of bread at him and three water bottles. He wasn't sure why he was being kept prisoner. Why hadn't they just killed him? Until he was taken, he thought his captor was dead.

It had all happened so fast. The protection spell around the Burrow broke and all the Death Eaters arrived. He followed Hermione and Harry, soon they were together, they all reached out to each other. Just as they were about to disapparate he saw him. Barty Crouch Jr. who was supposed to have suffered the Dementor's Kiss years ago. Ol' Barty was going after Harry and Ron could tell his plan wasn't just to get Harry but to kill him. There was murder in the man's eyes. Ron let go of Hermione's hand and grabbed Barty. He wasn't prepared for Barty to disapparate with him.

Ron's wand broke when Barty attacked him after they apparated. Ron could defend himself, but Barty didn't only have experience on his side, he had that he was a stark, raving lunatic on his side too. That meant he didn't care what the consequences were.

But why hadn't he killed Ron? He had him overpowered. Even now he hasn't tried to kill him. Barty did love the torture but that didn't explain anything.

Everything was pretty much the same until one day Barty showed up and Ron was sure it was his last day on Earth.

"He killed him," Barty raged. "That pathetic half-blood killed my master."

Everything went dark after that and as the first curse from the wand of his enemy hit, he was glad for losing consciousness.
