Harry missed Ginny; he really did but he wanted to move on. Ginny had fallen in love with someone else while Harry and Hermione were chasing Horcruxes. When he got back and after the final battle, they just fell apart. Count it as another thing lost in the battle along with so many lives.
Hermione felt bad and tried to cheer him up. Ron had a very different reaction and truth be told it was what Harry really needed. His best friend laughed so much he fell off his chair after finding out that both of Harry's exes were dating…each other. He just had a crush on Cho and kissed her a few times, and he barely dated Ginny. So, it really didn't upset him, but Ron was right, it was hilarious.
After Ron started his acceptance of Rose, things seemed to calm. Ron had moved into the Burrow. Bill and Fleur moved to Shell Cottage, a place where Ron said they used to stay when they were younger for holidays.
Because of that, Ron moved into the extension that had been made for Bill and Fleur. It had a kitchen, three small bedrooms, bathroom, and a living area. Hermione made the decision that for now, she was going to live in the extension with Ron and the babies. She would have one of the rooms, Ron would have one and the babies have the last one. And it was a good thing too because Rose was a daddy's girl. Any time he was near she would go to him. Once she even pushed Hugo down to get to Ron first. She may not look like Lavender, but she had a lot of her…determination.
Hermione was also getting back into the dating world but hadn't actually been there in the first place besides a one off with Ron and going to the Yule Ball with Krum. Ron on the other hand was the complete opposite, even the mention of him dating anyone he would almost have a panic attack. It was understandable. At least he was getting out more working at Fred and George's joke shop.
Percy had remembered that Ron had wanted to be an Auror. Because Ron killed one of the worst Death Eaters out there and one that no one knew was still active, he was offered a job.
Percy was able to get the requirements lifted for Ron just like they were for Harry and Hermione. But Ron said he lost the taste for wanting to be involved with dark wizards. Harry hoped that he would change his mind after some more time and healing. Harry couldn't think of anything greater than being an auror with his best friend.
This weekend was a first for Harry. He had agreed to go on a blind date. It was set up by Ron so it would be interesting to see what Ron thought his type was. Because he's always tried to be truthful with Ron and Hermione, except some things about his scar, they pretty much knew everything about him. So, they both knew he was bisexual. When Ron said Harry's date was with a man, he had to admit, he was excited and nervous. So far he hadn't even flirted with a man before, now he was going on a date with one.
One thing Harry was coming to notice in the Wizarding world was that bisexuality was pretty common, which was good. He didn't have to worry about losing any of his friends. He had been surprised since Percy had hidden his sexuality, but Ron said that was just Percy, he didn't like people knowing anything about him. That he had always been very secretive about personal things. Won't shut up about work but ask him what he's doing on a Friday night and you're getting no answer.
"Come on, tell me who the date is with," Harry said as he dressed for the date.
"No," Ron said, he was sitting on Harry's bed at Grimmauld Place throwing a rubber ball into the air and catching it.
"How do I look?" Harry asked, he was wearing a black button-up shirt and black trousers, he was holding a white scarf he was going to wear.
"How do you think Uncle Harry looks?" Ron asked Rose who was also on Harry's bed. She had several baby toys in front of her. Her favorite game was throwing them on the floor and making Ron and Harry retrieve them without magic. She would scream and throw it harder if they used magic. Hugo was asleep in a cot by the bed.
Hermione was in Australia with Percy to get her parents back and give them their memories. Ron was going to go with her and bring the little ones, but Hugo got sick before they were due to leave.
She had been worried about leaving Ron with both little ones but in the months since he found out about them, he had really stepped up to the plate.
"Yayaya," Rose said, clapping her hands.
"Rosie says it's a win."
"Come on, tell me who it's with," Harry pleaded.
Ron stood up and shook his head. Then he put on a baby carrier. Harry helped strap Rose to his back, then with a sleeping Hugo on the front. It was a muggle contraption, but Hermione swore by it, so Ron used it.
"No. Go on and have a good time. I won't bother you tonight in case you bring him home."
"On the first date?" Harry asked, horrified.
"I swear, Harry, you're giving my mother a run for being prudish."
"It's not my fault you and your brothers are a bunch of deviants." Ron flinched. "I didn't mean that, sorry."
"It's fine, mate. Go on, have a good time, you deserve it. Come over tomorrow to yell at me."
"Why would I yell at you?" Ron just kept walking away laughing. "WHY WOULD I YELL AT YOU?"
Draco stared at the door, waiting for someone to come in. Every time someone did, he wondered if they were his date.
What was he thinking agreeing to let Blaise set him up? His best mate had a varied group of friends. Draco only had friends that had been Slytherin or from other schools. Blaise was mates with many types of wizards. Like lately he had been spending a lot of time at Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes. If it was one of the Weasleys he was going to hex his best mate so much he'll be sparking for days.
He was waiting for his date in a new pub in Diagon Alley. The reason he picked here was because he knew the owner in case he needed a fast getaway. Who knew what person would walk in? Blaise had said it was a man but that's all he would tell him. Well, he also said it was someone that Draco had a crush on during school. There had been a few so that didn't narrow it down.
There was a white rose on the table, so the person he was on the date with knew it was him. His date was going to be wearing a white scarf.
The door opened and a man with a white scarf walked in. Draco had to remind himself to breathe. No way would Blaise do this to him.
Bespectacled eyes locked on him then dropped to the white rose setting on the table.
"You've got to be kidding me," Harry Potter said, taking off the scarf and wadding it up.
Draco was going to kill Blaise, and no one would ever find his body.
