So... this was written like 5 months ago and I just never posted it because I didn't feel like it. But eh I figured might as well upload it. Hope you enjoy lol
One step at a time
Jaune finally walked out of school with a yawn as he looked around. The 13-year-old had a hellish day at that place and was desperate to hit a bed and sleep until he was 17.
Jaune heard the sounds of metal clashing, and he walked over to it as something flew past his face. Jaune stumbled back with an "oof" as he fell.
"Whoops! Sorry man. We were trying out our X beys and I guess SOMEONE overshot their launch!" A brown-haired boy said as he glared at a blue-haired guy whistling indiscriminately. "It's alright." Jaune said as he stood up and brushed himself down. He also wiped down his blond hair with two large blue streaks in it resembling an X on the left of his shaggy hair.
"Wait Beys?" Jaune asked as the boy looked at him excitedly. "You know it! The new X system is amazing!" The boy said before he ran off. Jaune looked at them for a few seconds before shaking his head and walking off. Little did he know however someone was watching him and smiled to themselves.
Jaune entered a cafe and looked around before smiling at the barista. "Charlie!" He cried as he ran up to a brown-haired girl. "Oh, hey Jauney boy." The older girl said warmly with a smile as he looked down at Jaune. "Want anything?" she asked as Jaune grinned and nodded. "A quick tuna sandwich please." Jaune said as Charlie nodded before walking off. "So, how's your mom?" Charlie asked.
Charlie was a family friend. Moreso a babysitter for Jaune and a few of his sisters. He'd known her for years and would come to the cafe she worked at even after his older sisters were fully capable of babysitting.
"She's all good. She and dad are doctors so we don't see them all the time, but we manage. Must've been better making money babysitting huh?" Jaune teased as Charlie sighed. "Maybe… but at least even with this job I can still see you squirt." Charlie said as she gave Jaune his sandwich and he gave her the money before walking outside chomping it.
"Hey!" A voice came from near him as he jumped, lucky he wasn't chewing. Jaune turned to see a girl with blood-red hair with golden highlights through it and bright emerald green eyes. "Uhm hey?" Jaune asked as the girl smiled at him. "I'm Pyrrha! Nice to meet you!" The girl, now named Pyrrha, said as she extended a hand and Jaune shook it. "Uhm I'm Jaune." He said, slightly weirded out by the girl's sudden greeting.
Pyrrha seemed to tilt her head at him. "You don't know who I am?" She asked as Jaune just stared at her. "Uhm no? Should I?" Jaune asked as Pyrrha beamed. "Nope! Anyway, I saw you talking to those bladers earlier." She said as Jaune remembered talking to those kids playing with Beyblades.
"Oh yeah. So, they were bladers huh?" Jaune asked whilst rubbing the back of his neck. "Yep! You blade?" Pyrrha asked as Jaune turned to her. "Well no. I've heard of it, but I don't really play." Jaune said as Pyrrha tilted her head. "Really?! It's so strong though…" Pyrrha said and Jaune raised an eyebrow. "Huh?" He asked as Pyrrha went into thought for a second. "Come walk with me." She said as Jaune stood up and walked alongside the girl through the busy city before arriving in a small park, that was still pretty lively, and sitting down on a bench.
Pyrrha took a small breath before turning to him. "Okay so a lot of what I'm gonna say will sound like nonsense but trust me." Jaune raised an eyebrow at that.
"So, I'm kind of a pro blader. I've won a few tournaments and I've been given all kinds of titles like Beyblade Queen, The Red Spartan, nowadays though people tend to call me the invincible girl." Pyrrha explained as Jaune looked at her. "But… I quit..." Pyrrha said and Jaune's eyes went wide. "You quit blading?!" He said and Pyrrha shook her head. "No, I quit professional blading."
"The world of professional blading is… sad. There's no fun and enjoyment in battles. With everything being based on companies paying bladers to blade for them, it becomes much more focused on winning and performing in order to make it to the top teams." Pyrrha explained while Jaune's eyes widened.
"That… sounds like unfun torture." Jaune spoke and Pyrrha nodded. "Tell me about it… I was on a top team at a place my mom told me about. I was the best… but my older teammates weren't always happy about that…" Jaune immediately understood what she meant. "Yikes. I know the older guys must've been pretty upset with a kid being better than them." He said as Pyrrha nodded.
"You have no idea." Pyrrha thought as she remembered those teammates.
"If you're gonna put a CHILD over me then I'm gone!"
"How am I supposed to make the top team when you never send out anyone but Pyrrha!"
"Pyrrha how are you so strong?"
"Pyrrha, can you train me?"
"Pyrrha can you…"
"Pyrrha"
"Pyrrha"
"Pyrrha?" Pyrrha was snapped back to reality as she turned to see a worried Jaune and shook her head. "Sorry a little lost in thought haha." Pyrrha laughed and Jaune nodded.
Pyrrha then stood up. "But despite all that… I MISS THE THRILL OF COMPETITION!" Pyrrha shouted before realizing she was in public and sat down with a blush. "I see…" Jaune said awkwardly. "I want to get back into it without needing a company. To climb to the top once more." Pyrrha said before she stood up again.
"And here in this city I found it." Pyrrha said as she pointed at a strange X-shaped building near the middle of the city. Jaune had seen it around a few times. He had absolutely no idea what it was for, and he didn't know anyone who knew what it was for either.
"Uhh what is that?" Jaune asked as Pyrrha turned to him. "It's called the X-tower. It's a place where the strongest teams of bladers gather to climb the tower and challenge the champions to become the ultimate Beyblade team. Then the members will battle themselves to decide the greatest blader." She said and Jaune's eyes widened. "That sounds pretty hardcore." Jaune said as Pyrrha's eyes sparkled. "Doesn't it?!" She turned to the tower. I wanna climb it!" She announced. "Me and my Bey Cobalt Drake!" Pyrrha said as she turned to Jaune with a beautiful red Beyblade that had 4 blades along it with the middle having art of a golden dragon as a center and clear gold between the two. The second part of the bey was also that same clear gold and a blood red bottom. "It's beautiful…" Jaune said. "T-the bey I meant!" Jaune quickly said as Pyrrha laughed slightly. "Thanks, in both cases." She teased with a wink.
"S-so how do you plan to do the tower? You don't have a team to climb the tower with." Jaune said, quickly changing the subject. Pyrrha then looked directly at him and smirked before raising her hand.
She's not.
And pointing it at Jaune
She is.
Jaune immediately panicked. "But I'm not a blader Pyrrha!" He pointed out again as Pyrrha shook her head. "But you have the potential to be one!" She said before taking a breath. "This is kinda what I meant by it's gonna sound crazy but… there are certain bladers. Bladers who can resonate with their beys and are even more powerful. We call them aura users. They're pretty rare but I'm one. So is the bey trainer who made Cobalt Drake. And… I can sense you have the same ability to resonate with a bey and bring for their avatar that we have!" Pyrrha said.
This girl was looney.
That's what went through Jaune's head as he heard her speech. She could only be looney. He was dumb for falling for her nonsense. A celebrity at the top of her craft he never heard of? Pfft. How did he ever fall for this? She was probably some third-rate hack who just needed a team to climb the tower and was desperate enough to pick the first person she saw.
Pyrrha seemed to realize he wasn't believing her and puffed up. "I'm being SERIOUS!" She said as she crossed her arms over her chest. Jaune nodded. "Sure sure. So why hasn't anyone ever documented this supposed resonance?" Jaune asked and Pyrrha put her finger on her chin. "Well, I don't think people without aura are able to see the resonance."
Yep 10000% looney.
Jaune stood up and was gonna excuse himself but then Pyrrha grabbed his arm. "If you don't believe me then I'll have to show you!" She said before dragging him off through the city.
Even over the sounds of the city he tried to ask what she was doing.
"Where are we going?!" "You'll see"
"Why are you dragging me?!" Ignored
Finally, the duo found themselves in front of a large building with the words. "BeyCenter" written on it.
"Uhh what's this…?" Jaune asked as Pyrrha smiled before entering and Jaune followed her with a sigh. He should've run for it a loooong time ago.
Jaune entered the place to see a massive room that had a hallway near the back that seemingly led to MORE rooms. But that wasn't all. The place was full of bladers and stadiums. Jaune couldn't believe his eyes. Beyblade was this big?
Pyrrha smirked at his slack-jawed look before her name was called and she turned to see people running up to her. "Pyrrha is that really you?" "Wow Pyrrha!" "Pyrrha let's battle!" The crowd kept talking as Pyrrha gave a smug look to Jaune who rolled his eyes. "Okay she is famous." Jaune thought.
"Okaay YOU!" Pyrrha said as she picked a random kid in the crowd, and they walked to the stadium.
Jaune and a small crowd gathered around to see the two battle. A kid walked up and raised her hands. "Are you ready?!" She asked as the two nodded. "In that case… Ready? Set!"
"3" The crowd chanted as Pyrrha bent down and put her launcher forward.
"2" Jaune finally joined in as the crowd anticipated the match.
"1" Now Jaune was confused as to what would be said next.
"GO SHOOT!" Pyrrha and her opponent shouted as Jaune noticed no one else joined in on the go shoot. Guess that was something only the battlers said.
Cobalt Drake rushed at its opponent as the kid roared. "Go now! Crush her and send her flying out of here!" He shouted as his bey made contact with Pyrrha's…
And was sent flying clear out of the stadium. The girl playing the ref raised her hand at Pyrrha. "Cobalt Drake with an over finish! Pyrrha Nikos is the winner!" The girl said as the boy fell to his knees dramatically and Pyrrha closed her eyes before putting her hand on her hip as a fist and raised her other hand in the air with her finger pointed up.
Jaune looked exasperated at her victory pose before looking at the guy who was defeated. He picked up his bey before turning to Pyrrha. "Pyrrha I'll beat you one day!" He declared as Pyrrha nodded at him. "I'll take you on anytime you want!" Pyrrha said with a wink.
That's how most battles went. Pyrrha would defeat her opponents and they would declare they'd beat her again. Some talked about how fun battling such a strong blader was while some reviewed what they could do differently and some even asked for tips from Pyrrha.
Jaune, however, was mesmerized. They seemed to be having so much fun. The way they zeroed in on the battles, how they learned from them, their determination to win, and how much they seemed to love Beyblade. "I wonder… Can I enjoy Beyblade this much?" Jaune thought before Pyrrha looked up and walked over to him. "Sorry, everyone but I'm done for today. Hopefully we can battle again sometime!" Pyrrha said as everyone nodded and smiled before bidding her goodbye.
Pyrrha and Jaune walked out of the training center as Pyrrha turned to Jaune. "So what did you think?" She asked as Jaune turned to her. "It was awesome! So many bladers and they seemed like they loved Beyblade!" Jaune said as Pyrrha's eyes sparkled. "I know right?! Are you interested in playing?" Pyrrha asked. Jaune looked down. "Well kinda. It kinda looks cool but… I told you before Pyrrha, I'm not a blader, I don't have a bey." Jaune explained. Beyblade did look cool but he never had one. Plus, her aura nonsense still sounded like nonsense
Pyrrha shook her head. "That doesn't matter! Remember the bey trainer I told you about earlier? She can make you one! You up for it?" Pyrrha asked as Jaune looked up at her. "Well might as well." Jaune then heard his phone's notification and pulled it out to see his sister texted him. "Looks like my sis is upset about me not being home by now. Whoops." Jaune said and Pyrrha looked at him. "So, you can't come?" She asked, sounding slightly disappointed.
"Eh, I'll just tell her I'm hanging with a friend. If she kills me she kills me right?" Jaune said as Pyrrha laughed. "Okay maybe the killing is unnecessary. Let's wrap this up and get you a Beyblade!" Pyrrha said as Jaune smiled and walked alongside her.
They went back to the park but walked further. All the adults in his life telling him never to trust strangers out the window. After all, Pyrrha couldn't be that far from him in age, right?
Jaune thought it better to ask and turned to her while they were walking. "Hey Pyrrha, how old are you anyway? I'm 13." Jaune said as Pyrrha turned to him. "Ha same. I'm 13 as well.." She spoke.
Jaune nodded at that. "So how long have you been blading?" He asked. "About 4 years I've been blading and 3 years I've been pro and 2 years I've been on my invincible girl undefeated streak without losing a point in battle." Pyrrha said and Jaune absorbed the information. "Wait, the X system has only been around for about a year? How have you been pro that long?" He asked. "Well, the X system is new but there was a system before that called Burst." Pyrrha said. "Burst system?" Asked Jaune but before Pyrrha could answer she looked up and smiled. "We're here!" Pyrrha cried as she ran to a small old-looking house.
"Now she's young but trust me she's a great bey trainer!" Pyrrha said as Jaune nodded before his brain registered what Pyrrha just said. "Wait if she's young and we're young… HOW YOUNG IS SHE?!"
Jaune's thoughts would be answered but not immediately as Pyrrha walked in to see the place was mostly empty. "Ruby? Where are you, Ruby?!" Pyrrha called. Jaune looked around. "Maybe she isn't here?" Jaune asked.
"Not likely. Ruby practically lives here unless she goes home to eat and it's not dinner time yet." Pyrrha explained before she saw a door. "Bingo." She walked up to it before opening it. Jaune followed and saw a young girl but not insanely younger than them. She was knocked out sleeping on a makeshift bed. He couldn't tell most of her features, but he could at least tell she had black hair.
Pyrrha poked her just above her ribs and the girl shot up and landed harshly on the floor. "Uhh Pyrrha was that necessary?" Jaune asked and Pyrrha just shrugged. "Best way to wake her up."
The younger girl woke up and let out a loud yawn before rubbing her eyes and looking at them. Pyr? What are you doing here?" The girl said as she stood up.
Jaune could now see Ruby fully and make out her features. She had black hair that was high back with red tips but also red inside her hair and she had large silver eyes and was wearing overalls over a red hoodie and black jeans.
"Well Ruby, Jaune here needs a Beyblade figured you could help us out." Pyrrha said as Ruby's eyes opened fully. "Oh? A new blader." Ruby said with a smile before walking out of the room. "Sit in the main room for a bit." Ruby said before she ran out.
Jaune and Pyrrha walked into the room and found a random couch to sit on. The two sat for a short while in silence before Ruby came back with a small box. "This is my latest creation!" Ruby said proudly as she placed the box in Jaune's lap.
Jaune opened the box to see three parts. A 3 bladed blade with blue plastic near the middle section and smack dead in the middle was a blue dragon head with flames coming out of its mouth. The second piece was a smaller blue ring with clear blue plastic. The final piece was a small blue tip with a flat surface.
"Wow what's this one Ruby?" Pyrrha asked as Ruby smirked. "Its name is Dran sword! My latest masterpiece!"
Jaune looked down at it before looking back at Ruby. "I can have this?" He asked as Ruby nodded. "I gave it to you for a reason. Use it and win. And always remember every time you win that you won because of me!" The young girl said while sticking out her tongue.
Jaune smiled and thanked her before reaching down towards the bey…
AND BEING SUCKED INTO A WHITE VOID
Jaune looked up to see a monstrously tall dragon looking down at him. "Do you think you can wield me boy?!" It asked with a booming voice that shook Jaune to his core. "I uhh I don't-" Jaune was cut off by the world disappearing and he was back in the workshop house.
Jaune realized where he was and continued to pick up the bey… before realizing… "Hey how do I put this together?" Jaune asked as Ruby facepalmed. "Oh my god you're an actual newbie…" Ruby said exasperated as she took the Beyblade. "So, you see this part? It's called the blade. And this one with the blue clear plastic? This is the ratchet. You take this white part of the ratchet and match it with the groove on the bey, then you slide it to click it in. Then you take this tip called the bit and place that inside the ratchet." Ruby explained before showing Jaune his bey. "And there you have it. Your own X system bey!"
Jaune took it and Pyrrha stood up and walked to the stadium. "Well Jaune ready for your first launch?" Pyrrha asked as Ruby stood up. "Oh yeah I also have a launcher ready." Ruby grabbed another box and showed off a blue string launcher with a blue grip and some kind of black device.
She snapped the grip and launcher together before handing it to Jaune. She then held up two of the black devices. "These are called bey loggers. They can show your launch power and can even record the beys you launch it with. You can look at them with this app I created for it." Ruby said as she gave the two their bey loggers and showed the app on her phone. "How old are you anyway?" Jaune asked. Ruby tilted her head. "I'm 11, why?"
"YOU'RE 11?!" Jaune cried as Pyrrha laughed. "Yep, Ruby's a prodigy." Pyrrha then turned to the stadium. "Ready for the launch?" She asked and Jaune nodded.
Jaune got into position over the stadium.

"GOOO Shoo-" Jaune was cut off by his bey falling off the launcher as the girls looked at him deadpan. "Jaune… do you know how to launch a Beyblade?" Pyrrha asked as Jaune flushed. "Uhh well do YOU know how to launch a Beyblade?" Jaune asked as Pyrrha sighed. "Alright let me show you."
Pyrrha spent some time teaching Jaune the basics of launching and he got it down pretty fast but there were still some kinks to work out. While they were practicing Ruby snuck off before returning.
"Hey Pyrrha. Hands-on experience is pretty good, but some are visual learners. Maybe we could show him how to launch!" Ruby said as Pyrrha picked up where Ruby was going with this. "Okay then let's go." She turned to Jaune. "Mind playing ref?" She asked while Jaune nodded. "Uhh sure?"
"Great!" Ruby said as she showed off her bey. "Hells scythe has been itching to battle!" Ruby said as she held a red bey with the same silver metal as Jaune's instead of the painted red of Pyrrha's with a red skull with flames coming around its head as the art in the center.
Ruby and Pyrrha took their places next to the stadium before Ruby perked up. "Hey Jaune, do you know how points work in Beyblade?" She asked as Jaune rubbed the back of his neck. Ruby sighed before turning to him. "In Beyblade usually battles outside of team battles are first to 3 points." She said while holding up 3 fingers.
"The way to get points are, to outlast your opponent's Beyblade for a spin-finish which is 1 point." Pyrrha said. "And over-finishes are by knocking your opponent out of the stadium for 2 points. Another way of getting 2 points is to get a burst finish where your opponent's Beyblade blows apart. That's an intended feature so don't go calling my beys low quality if you get burst." Ruby said.
"I think Pyrrha mentioned a burst system…" Jaune said as Pyrrha nodded. "The previous system." She said, "The Schnee Beyblade corporation couldn't let that gimmick go I guess." Ruby said. "But with the new X system we have a new way to win for 3 points… or an automatic victory." Ruby said as she looked at Pyrrha.
"The extreme finish!" Both girls called. "When your Beyblade rides along the extreme line you get an extreme finish!" Ruby said as she pointed at the stadium. It was a unique shape that started out as a regular dish in the middle but rose up to have the two sides be raised and a black rim was along the entire stadium except one place where it curved.
"Beys run through the extreme line then go from that curved section to slam into the opponent with insane power!" Ruby said. "And if they go into that pocket opposite to the end of the extreme line then that's an extreme finish." Pyrrha explained.
Jaune nodded as he absorbed all the information. "Gotcha. Alright I'm ready to ref!" Jaune said as Pyrrha and Ruby got ready to launch. However, Jaune noticed Pyrrha's launch was much more basic than before.
Jaune ignored that and raised his arm. "Ready? Set!"

"GO SHOOT!" The girls cried as their beys hit the stadium before slamming into each other with power. "Alright that's it Hells scythe! Dance!" Ruby cried as her bey kept smashing against Pyrrha's, but Cobalt Drake stood its ground against every attack.
Jaune was shocked as most of the time Pyrrha's bey blew any others away but here Ruby was matching her blow for blow… could that aura users thing be real?
Cobalt Drake and Hells scythe slammed into each other a few more times before both went into a pattern that caused them to keep hitting each other. Cobalt Drake hit the black rim and bounced back and smashed into Hells scythe. "Ugh not good…" Ruby said before taking a breath. "Alright Pyrrha time to end this charade and really get this party started!" Ruby said as a slight red glow surrounded her body.

Ruby then crossed her arms before forcing them to her sides and the glow grew even stronger.

"Hells scythe!" Ruby called as her bey glowed and Hells scythe's avatar of reaper with a blood red cloak and skull under the hood with a large red scythe appeared.

AURA USERS WASN'T NONSENSE
Jaune wasn't sure how to feel but then Ruby's bey hit Pyrrha's and sent it straight into the X ridge. Pyrrha smirked as her own golden aura came out. "Now let's really get it started! Cobalt Drake!" Pyrrha cried as her own avatar appeared. A golden dragon with crimson eyes appeared over the Beyblade and the Beyblade hit the ridge with its golden aura and shot off at high speeds.
"What the?!" Jaune cried as Cobalt Drake raced around before hitting the end and rushing at Hells scythe. "Not good!" Ruby cried as Pyrrha sliced her arms into an X then proceeded to slash to the X she created with her arms.
"Xtreme Dash Attack!" Pyrrha cried as her bey slammed into Ruby's and sent it flying into the Extreme pocket and it burst inside of it.
Everyone sat in silence before Jaune realized he was supposed to call it. He raised his hand at Pyrrha. "Uhh Pyrrha err Cobalt Drake with a Extreme-Finish! Pyrrha wins." Jaune said awkwardly as the girls laughed.
"So how was that performance?" Pyrrha asked as Jaune looked at her. "If I didn't believe the aura users thing was real before I sure believe it now…" He said.
"Wow he didn't know about aura users. Strange I can practically sense his large amount from here…" Ruby said as Pyrrha giggled. "Right?" Pyrrha asked. Both girls fully turned to Jaune. "I think we have a lot of work to do." Ruby commented. "Right… but something tells me… It'll be worth it…" Pyrrha said with a smile.
The girls spent time helping Jaune learn how to properly launch and soon enough he had gotten down mostly and it was dinner time.
Jaune woke up the next day and got dressed for a new day. He was wearing a blue hooded jacket that was left open with a white shirt with a dragon's head on it. He wore black shorts and blue sneakers and put on his new belt Ruby gave him that held his launcher and a special box for Dran sword.
He ran downstairs and his older sister Indigo noticed him. "And where are you headed? It's not a school day." She asked. "Oh, I'm heading to meet up with some friends." Jaune replied as he put his shoes on. "Ah friends for little Jauney. Or maybe a secret girlfriend." She teased as Jaune blushed and glared at her. "It's not that Indigo!" He said as he stuck out his tongue and prepared to leave the house. "I'll be back later!" He called before opening the door.
"Pyrrha, I promise I'll become a teammate to help you reach the top of the X-Tower! I mean it!"

Okay at last I finished this. YOOOOOO what's up everyone it's ya boy Paradox. I've been into Beyblade for most of my life and I wanted to make a RWBY/Beyblade story. I always struggled with what though since I didn't want to just make a story following RWBY canon since that would kind of stifle my creativity imo. I thought of a metal fight series. Didn't work. I thought of a burst series with Ruby as the MC using deathscyther. Didn't work. I thought of a Burst series with Jaune as the MC using Fafnir… DIDN'T WORK. Finally, I thought of Ruby inventing the X system and using Hells scythe and that also kind of didn't work but the manga releasing and the anime releasing gave me the idea to have a younger Jaune as the MC teamed up with Ruby and Pyrrha trying to tackle the X-Tower and here we are. Dransword is made by Ruby as her most recent creation and in real life is one of the first four released for X. It is owned by Ekusu in the anime and can just be bought casually
Ruby
Hellscythe is also one of Ruby's creations. She made it before Dransword but after Cobalt Drake. IRL was released alongside the first four releases and is owned by Bird in the anime. It can be bought casually.
Pyrrha
Cobalt Drake is the first of Ruby's X creations after SBC changed from Burst to X. She made it for Pyrrha to show off and test out. IRL it is a PAIN to get as you either pay $200+ or play a gacha game where the way to get rolls is to buy Beyblade products and scan them into a japanese only app and then if you do win it, find a proxy service to deliver it. It is owned by Chrome Ryugu in the anime.
