Thanks for the reviews last chapter. Hope you all enjoy this next one.
A few weeks later, Maria is switching to stay over at Christina's.
"Are you sure you don't want to stay longer?" Santana asks her mom.
"I don't want to overstay my welcome." Maria says.
"You could never." Brittany says. "We love having you here and so does Chloe."
"I promised that I'd switch up staying with everyone as you all want me." Maria says.
"Cause we love you mami and don't want to make you stay in the house unless you want to." Santana says hugging her.
"Right now, I don't mind switching up every few weeks. I'll let you know what I want to do with the house when I feel like I can make a decision." Maria says.
"There's no rush, whatever you want." Santana says.
A few more hugs and Maria is off.
"She seems in a better place." Brittany says.
"Chloe and the rest of her grandkids are the reason." Santana says.
"That and all of you willing her to do what she wants but always there for her." Brittany says.
"She's our mami," Santana simply says.
The pair head inside just in time to hear Chloe waking up. She's babbling loudly on the verge of starting to yell. They both quickly go in the nursery.
"Mommies are here." Santana says swooping Chloe into her arms.
Chloe giggles as Santana swings her around.
"Once she starts talking, she's going to be more of a handful." Brittany says and not for the first time.
"I hope she continues to have more of your temperament." Santana says, kissing Chloe on the cheek.
"You're not bad." Brittany says kissing her cheek.
"I was a nightmare as a child. Short tempered and yelled a lot." Santana says.
"Well, you grew out of it. It won't cause us to love Chloe any less." Brittany points out.
"My mami would be thrilled that I get to feel the pain she did." Santana says smiling.
They enjoy being together for an hour before Santana has to leave to handle some business.
"Remember, we're finding out the sex of the baby today." Brittany says.
"I know, I'll meet you at the office." Santana says giving both of them a kiss on the head.
Santana heads out, still reluctant to leave her family since her dad's death.
"Hey San," Asia says coming up the driveway with her son Ian in her arms.
"You and Britt hanging out." Santana says feeling better now.
"Yeah, Diego had to leave and didn't want me and Ian to be alone." Asia says. "Plus I figured you'd be heading out too."
"I'm so relieved Britt won't be alone." Santana sighs.
"Go, we'll be fine." Asia says.
She heads in the house, having already texted Brittany that she was coming over. The dogs come over to her barking.
"Max, Rocky," Brittany shouts. "It's only Asia."
"Hey Britt," Asia says laughing as the dogs knock into each other for Brittany's attention.
"Hey, you just missed San." Brittany says panting the spot next to her.
"I saw her on my way in." Asia says. "How are you doing?" she asks nodding to her bump.
"Pretty good still. San's amazing. And we're finding out the gender today." Brittany says smiling.
"Oh, that's exciting." Asia says. "Any inkling?"
"I think it's a boy. San thinks it's another girl." Brittany says.
Chloe totters over to Ian, plopping next to him. She starts babbling at him.
"I'm so glad they are close in age and seem to get along." Asia says smiling as Ian hands Chloe a block from those in front of him.
"Yeah," Brittany says a little distracted as Chloe babbles some more at Ian.
"Are you still worried about her not talking yet?" Asia asks.
"A little, she's at the age where she should start talking. At least saying a word here and there." Brittany says.
"She seems smart and talkative in her babbling. When she's ready she'll start talking." Asia says.
"I know," Brittany says.
She's worried but not enough to take her in yet.
"Maria told me that Santana after she first said mama didn't talk again for almost a year. She was stubborn. Though once she started, she spoke the clearest of all the kids and knew the most words for her age." Brittany says.
"She is a lot like San." Asia says smiling at the thought of young Santana.
"San hates it but I love it." Brittany giggles.
"Of course you do," Asia says shaking her head. "She'll listen to you and give San so much trouble."
Brittany laughs at this.

"Britt! I'm here!" Santana shouts running into the doctor's office.
Everyone in the waiting room stares at her.
"Ma'am, can you please be quiet." the receptionist says glaring at Santana.
Brittany grabs Santana's arm and pulls her over to her seat.
"Didn't you get my text that Doctor Sue is running late?" Brittany asks through gritted teeth.
She's so embarrassed by what her wife just did.
"No?" Santana questioningly says.
"Obviously not," Brittany says shaking her head.
"Sorry honey," Santana says kissing her.
"You're lucky that your baby hasn't caused my hormones to go all wonky yet and that I love you so much." Brittany says curling into her.
"I didn't want to miss your appointment." Santana whispers.
"I know and I love you for it." Brittany says.
"Brittany Pierce," the nurse says.
Santana stands up first, helping Brittany up even though she doesn't need it.
"How are you two ladies?" the nurse asks.
"Excited to find out the gender." Brittany says.
Santana is quiet, still nervous even though they just did this not that long ago.
"Is this your first?" the nurse asks, taking a few of Brittany's vitals.
"No, our second." Brittany says.
"Your wife seems nervous like it's your first which is why I asked." the nurse says.
"She was the one yelling a few minutes ago." Brittany says.
The nurse chuckles at this.
"I'll let Doctor Sue know that you're here." the nurse says heading out.
"This place always makes me nervous." Santana says.
"I should be the nervous one." Brittany says.
"Is Santana still nervous?" Doctor Sue says coming in. "Sorry that I'm late." she adds, washing her hands.
"It's okay, San was running late too." Brittany says getting up on the table.
"So that was all the noise." Doctor Sue says.
Brittany laughs, nodding at this.
"Okay, let's see your baby and if we can find out the gender today." Doctor Sue says.
Santana gets up, standing next to Brittany, holding hands. Brittany whines as the cold gel is put on her belly.
"A strong heart beat." Doctor Sue says once she puts the wand on Brittany's belly. "Now let's see if we can find out the gender."
"Wow," Santana says loving the sound of their baby's heartbeat.
"Well, you two are having a baby boy." Doctor Sue says.
"A boy," Brittany happily says.
"Are you sure he's not a girl like me?" Santana asks.
"I double checked for any under developing female organs and there are none." Doctor Sue reassures them.
"A son," Santana says in awe of her wife. "I love you so much." she says to Brittany.

"Damn, I hate all this paperwork." Santana groans as her wife comes into the office with Chloe.
"You have paperwork for your illegal businesses?" Brittany asks a little shocked.
"It's the books for both the legal and illegal businesses. I never realized that my dad did them. I always thought he had someone else doing them." Santana says sighing. "I'm probably going to have to hire someone to do them."
"I can," Brittany offers.
Santana whips around and stares at her wife.
"What?" Santana asks.
"I can help with doing the books." Brittany offers again.
"Britt," Santana starts.
"I'm great at math and the books are all math." Brittany points out before her wife can shoot this down.
"If we get busted, I don't want you involved so at least you can claim innocents and take care of the kids. You, Dawn, Katherine and Asia are the only ones that can claim that as Louise and Sterling are slightly involved." Santana says.
"San," Brittany softly says. "I can do the books here at home. No one aside for the family will ever know. Plus, I can spot long before you, if anyone is stealing."
"I'm not going to win this argument am I." Santana says.
"Nope, so you should let me do the books." Brittany says taking the books from her wife.
"You do that. I'm going to go play with Chloe." Santana says kissing Brittany's cheek.
Brittany happily starts working on the books. She loves being able to help her wife out after everything that's happened recently.
Chloe is sound asleep so Santana can't play with her as she's a grumpy bear when woken.
"Well," Santana says aloud to no one.
She doesn't have anything to do right now. It's weird for her. Thankfully she gets a text from José that they are all coming over to talk. While it does give her something to do, she's now nervous. What do her siblings need to talk with her about. Do they want someone else in charge? Her thoughts are all over the place until her siblings arrive.
"Santana," Antonio says nodding at her.
"Relax," Amelia says smiling at her.
The six of them sit around the living room. Santana bites her lip very nervous as to why they all are here.
"Well, I guess, I'll go first." Christina says as everyone is just staring at each other. "We all wanted to come over and let you know that you're the right person to lead the family." she says.
"Really?" Santana looking at them all hopeful.
"Dad trained you to be the boss. Sure, this isn't how any of us thought it would go down, but you're the right person." Diego says.
"Plus, that wife of yours might be the most resourceful of all our spouses." José says before adding. "Don't tell my wife I said that."
"Britts going to do the books." Santana tells them so glad for their support.
"That's smart, she's way better with numbers than anyone else in the family." Amelia says so happy that someone in the family is still handling the books.
"She finally convinced me to let her once I realized she'd never let it go." Santana says all smiles.
They're all quiet for a few minutes before Antonio finally speaks.
"Now that you know we all support you, I think we need to talk about finding who killed dad." Antonio suggests.
"Are we ready to open that barely covered wound?" Santana asks looking around at all of them.
"We have to find who did it." José angrily says.
"I know that." Santana says. "I just want to make sure we are ready for this especially mami."
"She'll understand." Christina says.
"Plus, she'd want us to get the bastards." Amelia adds.
"We should start searching. I think this could take a while to figure out who did it and how we get revenge on them." Diego tells them.
Everyone knows that he'll be the one doing the research.
"Okay, let's do that." Santana says. "Thanks for all your support."
"Of course, sis," José says slapping her back.
They all joke around for a few minutes before they head home. Just in time too as Chloe starts crying and yelling.
"Mama! Mama!"
Santana nearly falls over in shock that her daughter is actually talking. She runs upstairs.
"Did she?" Brittany says coming out of the upstairs office.
"Mama! Mama!" Chloe cry yells again.
"Baby girl," Brittany says picking Chloe up from the crib.
"We're so proud of you." Santana says kissing her.
"Mama, mama, mama," Chloe chants.
Brittany and Santana kiss her all over her face as she continues to say mama. After about ten minutes, she's worn herself out and asleep on Brittany's shoulder.
"I guess we don't have to worry about her not talking." Brittany happily says.
"I get the feeling we'll wish she wasn't speaking soon." Santana says.
"Please, you're as happy as me." Brittany says bumping into her.
Santana can only smile. Today has been a pretty good day.
