Chapter 2: The Adventure Begins
Location: Gateway Galaxy
After floating for some time, Mario crashes on an unknown planet and is knocked out cold. Baby Luma is right behind landing safely beside our hero. Unbeknownst to Mario, Baby Luma is now attempting to wake him up…
"TAP, TAP, TAP!" goes Baby Luma. "TAP, TAP, TAP!"
"Mmm, Ohh." groans Mario as he slowly awakens.
Amazed at the floating creature in front of him Mario watches as Baby Luma transforms into a star shaped eared bunny…
"Finally, you're awake!" said Bunny Luma. "Let's play!"
Hopping away Mario follows suit wondering where this strange new being is taking him…
"Come on, jump with me! said Bunny Luma.
After a while, the duo come to a patch of flowers where two similar looking star bunnies are waiting. These ones have orange-colored ears and tails rather than our apricot-colored companion…
"Let's play hide-and-seek!" said Bunny Luma joining his friends. "If you catch all of us, we'll tell you about where you are."
"Okie-dokie!" said Mario.
The bunnies jump and spin in midair disappearing around the planet. Around the area are three giant craters, small patches of flowers, two connecting Warp Pipes, several bulblike plants, two small pools of water, two small cottages, and a ring of vertical rock columns. There are so many places around him those bunnies can be hiding anywhere. After traversing around a bit Mario hears a faint hopping sound near the bulblike plants. Checking the bushes in between the plants one of the bunnies quickly jump out and sprint away…
"You're too slow!" said the bunny running away.
Chasing after it, Mario dashes past a warp pipe hearing another from the inside. Flanking around the rock columns Mario quickly catches the first bunny…
"You caught me!" said the bunny who transforms back into a luma. "Aww, I knew I should've hidden in the pipe."
Keeping that in mind Mario heads back to the pipe he passed earlier hearing another bunny inside. Entering the pipe Mario pops out after the bunny who hopped out before him…
"You can't catch me!" said the next bunny running a bit faster than the previous one.
After a short while Mario catches up to our furry friend…
"No way!" said the bunny while transforming to a luma as well. "Aww, I knew I should've hidden in the crater."
With one more left to go Mario checks all the craters eventually finding the last one…
"I can't believe I got caught!" said bunny Luma the last to transform back. "Wow, you caught all of us!" "Maybe you can really help Mama."
All three Lumas secure a castle-like structure then magically appears between two rocks behind the cottages. Mario makes his way to the structure where our Luma friends are waiting…
"Sorry about bringing you here so suddenly." said one of the yellow Lumas. "We should probably tell you where you are!" "There's a connection here to deep space, far from your lands." "We call it the gateway to the starry sky."
"Mama's waiting up above." said the other yellow Luma. "Please help her with whatever she asks!"
Making his way up to the top of the structure one of the lumas call out to Mario again…
"Please do as Mama asks!" reassures the Luma.
At the top of structure Mario gazes in amazement as a princess float in his view inside a magical sphere of light. This princess has pale blond hair with bangs covering one side of her face. She is wearing a sparkling light blue long sleeve dress, a silver and yellow star shaped brooch, yellow star shaped earrings, silver high heels, and holding a yellow star tip shaped wand…
"Oh, I've been watching you from here." said the princess, opening her eyes. "This is called the gateway to the starry sky." "My name is Rosalina." continued the princess. "I watch over and protect the cosmos." "To save your special one, you'll need the power to travel through space."
Waving her magic wand Rosalina makes Baby Luma reappear…
"Here, Luma can give you this power." said Rosalina. "I entrust you with his care."
Floating above Mario Baby Luma spins around super-fast and drops inside his body granting him with the magical power to star-spin…
"Wahoo!" said Mario as he jumps in the air with his gloves sparkling.
"Disaster has struck us, just as it has visited you." said Rosalina. "With Luma, I hope you can rescue the grand stars." "May the star shine down on you." finished Rosalina as she disappeared.
In her place appears one of the Lumas from before and a crystal…
"Hey there, spin into things that look breakable!" said the Luma. "You can even spin enemies to stun them."
"Alright, let's do this!" said Mario.
CRASH! SPIN! POW! Mario breaks the crystal which reveals to have a multi orange star shaped object appearing from inside it…
"This is a Launch Star." said the Luma. "Spin when you're near one to shoot through space like a comet!" "Now go and explore the universe!" finished the Luma. "There are lots and lots of galaxies for you to discover!"
SPIN! POW! Mario shoots from the launch star and flies through space starting off on a brand new cosmical adventure…
Author's Note: HERE WE GO! Time to journey off on this brand-new adventure of cosmic proportions. What awaits our hero as he travels throughout the universe? Stay tuned to find out in Chapter 3.
