Chapter 4: A Mysterious Area
Location: Unknown
After flying for a while the duo comes to a stop in front of a very dark area. The only thing visible is a small red lowly lit sphere sitting in the center. Looking at Mario one last time the Grand Star sparkles as it quickly spins around and shoots itself inside of the sphere. The power causes the sphere to grow a bit larger and shine brighter changing its color to orange. Lights are also activated revealing the place to be a mobile space station with a few rooms only visible for now…
You discovered a new galaxy!
Mario walks up to the main area where we see Rosalina waiting with a black brownish Luma…
"The beacon is lit again!" said the black brownish Luma. "It shines weakly, maybe only as bright as a Class 6 Star, but at least the poor Lumas will survive now."
"Oh, thank you for saving the Grand Star." said Rosalina. "These star people are my family… They mean so much to me." "Welcome to the Comet Observatory." continued Rosalina. "Its my home, and also home to the Lumas."
Location: Comet Observatory
"You see we travel the starry skies." continued Rosalina. "We pass by this area once every one-hundred year, but we suddenly stopped in front of this planet." "A strange force had latched onto our ship, pulling away Star Bits and our power source, Power Stars." continued Rosalina. "Our ship had lost power, so it entered a deep hibernation state in which it could not move." "Those who took your special one picked up the Power Stars… And discovered the power to cross the universe." continued Rosalina. "Please, I have a request…" " This observatory uses Star Power to project images of the galaxies that are scattered across space." continued Rosalina. "And… there is a chance we can use our few remaining stars to look for other power stars." "These round rooms are called domes." continued Rosalina. "We observe galaxies from domes such as these." "But the only one that is working now, powered by the Star Power you restored, is this one… the Terrace." finished Rosalina. "Please go to the Terrace and try to recover the Power Stars from the galaxies you can see from there."
"If we do that, we'll be able to restore the Comet Observatory's ability to fly like a starship." said the black brownish Luma who greets himself as Polari. "Then perhaps we can pursue the thieves who ran off with the Power Stars."
Polari is Rosalina's most trusted advisor and the guide to all things on the Comet Observatory. Mario stood in silence but paid close attention to the space princess's long monologue. Heading left down the stairs following the grass path he is greeted by a Luma at the Terrace's entrance…
"This is one of many domes on this observatory." said the Luma. "We call it the Terrace!"
Inside the Terrace is a nightly space themed wall design with a castle silhouette, star dialed floor design, chair, and telescope. Polari is also here alongside a tiny blue-colored luma…
"Welcome!" said Polari. "This dome acts as an eye of the observatory." "From here, we can daze upon distant galaxies." finished Polari. "Once this Luma transforms into a Pull Star, he will guide you to those far away galaxies.
The luma transforms and pulls Mario into him revealing quite a few galaxies near the observatory…
"These are the galaxies that can be observed from this dome." said Polari. "The numbers represent their distance from the observatory." "The bigger the number, the greater the distance." finished Polari. "The more Power Stars you find, the farther you will be able to travel."
Using the Star Power received from earlier the first galaxy reveals itself to be known as the Good Egg Galaxy. From the image can be seen a giant egg, house with a tree, and tower on the bottom half side…
"Yes, it's undeniable!" said Polari. "We're detecting Power Star energy patterns in the nearest galaxy." "But I must warn you that the evil energy readings are off the charts!" finished Polari. "Please be careful…"
SPIN! POW!
Using the launch star from the Terrace Mario sets off on his new quest heading toward the Good Egg Galaxy. Armed and ready our hero is deeply determined as the very fate of the entire universe rests in his hands…
Author's Note: Alright! We discover Rosalina and the Lumas home as the Comet Observatory. Now let's follow Mario along as he journeys on in his greatest adventure yet. See you soon!
I'M OUT!
