Chapter 5: Good Egg Galaxy Part 1
Star 1: Dino Piranha
BOOM! Mario lands on the starting planet ready to being his quest for the missing power stars. The planet contains a giant circular lawn with a single house, tree, weeds, a small and large bed of flowers, a pipe, and a bridge on each side of the planet leading opposite directions. Guarding the house are a couple of blue, yellow spotted creatures known as octoombas. These guys are much stronger than your average goomba enemy. They spit rocks from their mouths after you and have yellow bulbs on the top of their heads…
"We've got a long journey ahead of us Luma." said Mario. "As long as we work together, there's nothing we can't face that Bowser throws in our way."
"I'm with you Mario." said Luma. "My power is at the ready while I stay under your hat for the time being."
"Let's-a-go!" shouted Mario.
Using his instincts Mario can sense the octoombas' stronger strength and utilizes his signature ground pound which instantly defeats them. Walking up to door we find it is locked with a sign that reads…
Gone… for a long time. Need to get in? Use the pipe on the other side.
Unsure of which bridge to take Mario decides to take the pipe that is near one of the bridges and comes to the other side of the planet that looks dark and castle themed. Exploring around a bit collecting more star bits and coins along the way he finds the said pipe which is orange from the door sign. Inside the house Mario finds himself in a single cubed area with the walls having an underground type of scenery to them. The walls have multiple bridges connecting each other with blinking arrows pointing different directions on them…
"Mama Mia!" said Mario. "This is pretty out of proportion."
On the back wall is a large question marked coin that catches Mario's eyes…
"Interesting." said Mario approaching the coin. "Let's see what you do."
The coin turns into a rainbow-colored musical note path leading to the ceiling where another orange pipe sits. Following the path a familiar underground tune is heard that makes Mario hum along. A 1-Up appears at the end after collecting all the notes…
"1-Ups always come in handy." said Mario.
Exiting through the pipe Mario is now on the house's rooftop and jumps back down to continue his mission. Following the normal looking bridge Mario climbs all the way up the tower on the other side where another Luma is waiting…
"My friends are ahead hurry!" said the Luma.
The Luma quickly changes to a sling star to reach the Launch Star that is floating higher up above…
SPIN! POW!
The Launch Star takes Mario to a small nearby planet with a bunch of moving boulders and mud trails all round it. He immediately sees a star chip and quickly finds the rest forming the Launch Star and moving to the next planet…
SPIN! POW!
On the next planet called the Bean planet there are a few enemies and another giant coin on the other side. Grabbing the coin reveals a trail of star bit leading up and past a piranha plant to the sky. Defeating the piranha plant reveals a sproutle vine that Mario climbs up and spins around on the reach the next planet…
"There sure are lot of different ways to reach places." said Mario.
Now on the Bitten Apple planet Mario is faced with two different pathways to reach the next planet. Past a bunch of boulders and spiky plants where he is now is a giant piranha plant surrounded by rubbery bulb plants and slurple creatures. These guys are little blue parasitic creatures that hop around and when attached start sucking on you. The other path has green checkerboard shrinking platforms that disappear leading to a pipe with a piranha plant on top of it…
"How about you decide which path to take Luma?" said Mario.
"Go with the flip switch panels Mario." said Luma. "That is how you rescued the Grand Star."
"Okie-dokie!" said Mario.
Taking the checkerboard platform route Mario winds up on a small flip switch planet on the pipe's other side… Lighting up the panels reveal more that eventually make the Launch Star appear…
SPIN! POW!
Arriving on the Block-Climb planet surrounding Mario are more spiky plants and an enemy scurrying around in the dirt. It is revealed to be a turquoise sack like creature called Tracks. A multi load of star bits appear around Mario after defeating it. Collecting them Mario heads to the upper portion climbing multiple platforms and defeating more octoombas. Reaching the top Mario smashes another crystal with a Launch Star inside of it that takes him to the final planet…
SPIN! POW!
On the Dino Egg planet at last, Mario immediately lands on the giant egg sitting on top cracking it open. A large tail with a ball attached to the end pops out and starts moving around. With no other choice Mario smacks the ball which swings and completely breaks open the egg. An enormous dinosaur looking creature that resembles Petey Piranha emerges from the shell. It's boss battle time…
Boss: Dino Piranha
"Alright Luma, let's defeat this monster and get the Power Star." said Mario.
Dino Piranha chases after Mario full speed smashing the many crystals around planet with star bits inside. Circling around Mario smacks the tail which swings causing a direct hit damaging the creature…
"ROOOOAR!" screamed Dino Piranha.
The damage caused a few leaves to fall off turning his face red making him super angry. Charging even faster Dino Piranha catches up knocking Mario over causing a little damage…
"Oww." said Mario as he got back up. "That was really strong!"
Once again Mario smacks the tail damaging Dino Piranha who immediately turns right back around…
"ROOOOAR!" screamed Dino Piranha again.
Mario quickly dodges out of the way stopping a very close call…
"What a close one!" said Mario. "Time to finish this!"
Charging once again Mario side flips super high over Dino Piranha smacking the tail which hits finally finishing him…
"WAAAAAAH!" wails Dino Piranha as he slams to the ground defeated and disappears.
POOF!
"Wahoo!" cheered Mario jumping in the air.
"Great Job!" cheered Luma joining in.
DING!
Emerging in its place appears the Power Star which spins up and back down…
"There's the Power Star Mario!" said Luma. "Grab it and let's head back."
Jumping up and grabbing the star Mario watches as the star dances around him before he spins around with it and does a victory pose…
YOU GOT A POWER STAR!
Star 1: Mission Complete
Location: Terrace Dome
Back in the Terrace Mario waves farewell to the Power Star as it leaves for the Beacon…
"Those candies you've been collecting are called Star Bits." said Polari. "To Lumas, they are the tastiest, most delectable treats imaginable." "Hey, why don't you feed me some star bits?" finished Polari.
Mario took a bunch of the star bits he collected and fed them to Polari…
"That's the ticket!" said Polari. "Yuuuum!" "Mmmm, tasty!" continued Polari. "Let's call those little morsels my fee for this lesson." "You can also stun enemies with or feed them to a hungry Luma." finished Polari. "Either way, I am sure Star Bits will be a big help on your adventure!"
After Polari's quick interlude Mario headed back to Good Egg Galaxy to search for more Power Stars…
Author's Note: So I've decided to only put iconic galaxies and missions in this story because that would just be insane. We will finish out the first three missions of Good Egg in the next chapter. Ya'll catching my drift? See you there!
I'M OUT!
