3#Breakfast.

Day 1

The next morning, Tyler was downstairs in the dining-room, eating breakfast with his Mom, Saffron, and his step-Dad, Terrance Wilson. Well, the two adults were eating breakfast, Tyler was barely awake at the table, as he hadn't been able to go back to sleep last night after waking up from his nightmare. The breakfast they were eating was that of waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon and muffins, with three glass cups of orange juice for all three parties at the table.

Saffron had brown shoulder-length hair and brown eyes, and Terrance had black hair and brown eyes.

Tyler and his Mom had met Terrance when they moved here back in September of last year, a week before Tyler's 10th birthday, and the both of them were instantly smitten with one another. Love at first sight, as they call it. For the rest of last year, they dated each other, and sometimes they even let Tyler tag along with them. Terrance later proposed Tyler's Mom on the morning of Christmas after she un-wrapped a small present from him that was revealed to be a small box containing an engagement ring, and she said yes. They got married New Years Day. Tyler was glad to have Terrance as a father-figure in his life, as his real father had never been in the picture. He knew he should've been angry about that, but...hey...one couldn't be mad at someone they didn't know. Tyler couldn't have been more happy for his Mom than he already was. To bad he couldn't say that about himself.

"Looks like someone's gonna fall asleep in his breakfast." Said Terrance, noticing how tired Tyler was.

"What?" Tyler asked, snapping out of his drowsiness.

"Are you alright, honey?" Saffron asked.

"Y-yeah. Yeah, i'm just a little...just a little tired, that's all." Tyler stammered.

"Trouble sleeping?" Saffron asked.

"No, i'm just...you know." Tyler said.

"You had another nightmare, didn't you? About The Bite Of '83?" Terrance said.

"I wish you wouldn't call it that." Tyler said, taking offense to Terrance's title for the death of Evan. He had been calling it that ever since ladt year in October. Tyler knew he meant no harm by it, but...still, it was very offensive to him.

"Not another one. Oh, Tyler." Saffron said.

"You say that like i can do something about it." Tyler said.

"Well, for one thing, you can stop blaming yourself for Ethan's death." Terrance said. He could never remember the name of Tyler's friend, so he called him Ethan.

"Here we go. And his name's Evan." Tyler said. Ever since he had told Terrance about Evan and what happened to him, the guy had been repeatedly telling him to stop blaming himself for his death, as if he could somehow turn off his guilt with the flip of a switch. If only it were that simple.

"Well, it's true." Terrance said.

"But i was there. I had a chance to save Evan and i couldn't." Tyler said.

"Honey, you know how much i loved Evan, he was almost part of our family duo." Saffron said.

"I know. Evan and i were like brothers. That's why letting go of him is so hard." Tyler said.

"You have to stop knocking yourself around over his death. Stop blaming yourself and the nightmares will go away." Saffron said.

"Yeah." Terrance added.

"Keep out of it." Saffron and Tyler said.
