Caleb Sands always knew he was different. He'd grown up in an orphanage since he was small, never knowing his real parents. So he'd thrown himself into being creative, inspired by the comic books, videotapes and DVDs provided for entertainment. This had pushed Caleb down the path of wanting a job in entertainment, if not as a director or screenwriter, then as a production designer. With this skill, Caleb had earned himself a scholarship to the Sights Academy for Artistically Gifted Individuals in Emerald City. Things seemed set to be good for him.

But recently, Caleb had been receiving visions of a mysterious crystal man. "Caleb. The time is coming for you to claim your destiny.", the man told him.

"But how do I do that?", Caleb asked.

"Seek the other 4.", was the answer he received. "They will be the key."

And so Caleb had sat on those words for the next few days, pondering their meaning. Until the day of the class trip to the water plant, where they were attacked by a monster of some kind. Caleb ran back to his rented apartment and saw the whole story on the news. The creature was driven off by four Power Rangers, all with a jewel theme to their suits. "Could they be-?", he asked himself, before he answered his own question. "Of course they are. I just need to wait for another attack."

And speaking of the 4 Rangers, they had gone to a mysterious building. "This is where the transmissions were coming from?", Kent asked. "Looks like no-one's been here in years."

"And yet, we know better.", Tricia pointed out. "The guy who called us earlier set himself up in here. We'll find him if he hasn't taken off."

"Lucky for you, I'm still here." The Rangers were greeted by the emergence of a middle-aged man in a polo shirt and tracksuit. "Hello Rangers, I'm Doctor Meekum, the genius behind your gear."

The Rangers were more confused than impressed. "So let me get this straight.", Bill said, genuinely confused. "All our super powerful and advanced technology was made here on Earth?"

"Technically, the power came from space.", Meekum explained. "I simply helped Moglarous turn it into something that humans could use just as well as Diamandians."

"That seems fair.", Sandra nodded. "I assume that, aside from Morphers and weapons, you're also building us a Megazord or two. After all, monsters that fight Power Rangers tend to get bigger at the end of the fight."

Meekum merely shrugged at this. "Apparently, the Zords will form from your Power Gems once you can figure out how to synchronise with them in an emergency. Until then, I can do anything on that front."

"Well, that's just great.", Kent sighed.

Further conversation was interrupted by a call from Princess Crystallia. "Rangers. The Darkraiders have sent an attack ship to destroy the city."

The portal then opened in front of them. "Well, I think it's time for you to go.", Meekum stated.

"Ok.", Sandra nodded. "Are we ready?"

"It's Morphin' Time!" Everyone said as they ran into the portal, initiating their Morphs. The portal then closed behind them.

In the city, people ran away from the colossal ship, an organic floating object that was swiping at the buildings with tentacles. It then spat out a stream of mud, that formed into a group of the Darkraiders' soldiers, the Clawrriors. From the side, they were observed by Tracom. "Yes, my pretties. Crush these humans beneath your heels.", she hissed. "Like we did to the Diamandians."

"Don't be too sure in your victory.", a human male said as he approached. He then slammed his fists together, generating the familiar armour of Impura onto his body. "After all, there are Power Rangers like the ones from Diamandos on Earth. They could be a problem."

"Oh, have you gone soft as your human body, Impura?", Tracom asked, mockingly. "The Rangers are one man down, and they haven't awakened their Zords. They'll be no match for us."

"Perhaps, but we shouldn't entirely underestimate them.", Impura pointed out. "They did defeat one of our Champions in their reduced state. They can still be a threat."

In his apartment, Caleb was perusing the news. He had seen the giant UFO in the sky and was now trying to see if the Rangers would respond, so he could meet up with them. Sure enough, the news showed the 4 Rangers emerging from a portal to battle the creatures. "And this is the scene as our city has been just as quickly saved by a group of Power Rangers just as quickly as it came under attack. This is the first sign of any Power Rangers since the Wild Fury team defeated the Space Hunters. But they seem to be lacking the traditional Red Ranger from their ranks."

"Hopefully, not for much longer.", Caleb declared as he turned off the TV and set off running towards the action. "They're not that far away. I can get to them."

At the Crystal Tree, Crystallia was observing the 5 Power Crystals in a specially built section. When the Ruby began to shake, and fly out of its own accord. "What's this about?", Crystallia asked. As if to answer her question, the Ruby sucked her up, dragging her across town.

And across town, Caleb came across the 4 Rangers doing battle with the Clawrriors. Bill used his Diamond Saber to cut through some of the enemy grunts, while Kent leapt over a fleeing construction team to shoot at a few more. Both Tricia and Sandra managed to hold down one while attacking another. "There they are.", Caleb noted to himself. "Now I just need to get their attention.

The first he went up close to was Kent, who inserted three projectiles into his Crystal Blaster, before aiming. "Crystal Coin Blast!" He fired off three shots at three pairs, destroying them. "Alright, that was easy - What the-?"

"Um, hi.", Caleb said nervously. "Would you mind telling me where I can get one of these?" He grabbed onto the Crystal Race Morpher to indicate what he was talking about.

"Get out of here, kid.", Kent urged. "We're kind of in the middle of something here."

The next target of Caleb's fascination was Tricia, who ran through a group of Clawrriors with her Diamond Saber, before dodging a blow from one coming from behind. "Too slow.", she said, before turning to see Caleb coming up close.

"Um, hi?", Caleb waved. "Would you mind telling me where your Ranger powers come from?"

"Oh, it's nothing special.", Tricia answered him as she pulled up her Saber once again. "Just a couple of weird space rocks." She ran in to continue fighting, pressing a button on her Diamond Saber to generate a shield that blocked the enemies' blasts.

Moving on, Sandra flipped a Clawrrior over so she could fire a shot at two more, before elbowing a fourth to send it flying backwards. "Looks like those self defence classes at the country club payed off.", she noted to herself, before turning to see Caleb standing next to her. "Oh, you must be a commoner. How quaint."

"Yeah, I want to talk about your weapon.", Caleb said as he picked up the Crystal Blaster. "What's the range on this thing?"

Before she could answer, a Clawrrior came running, with Sandra having to fire on it to save the life of her new acquaintance. "Sorry, darling. We're caught in the middle of a fight right now. Go bug Bill over there."

Talking of Bill, he was battling the Clawrriors on the roof of a building, before leaping off to attack a second group. "Clear a path.", he announced as he triggered the ultimate attack of the Diamond Saber by pressing the button twice. "Diamond Saber Slash!" He unleashed a wheel of light both sideways and vertically, taking out both groups.

"Wow, that was so cool.", Caleb blurted out, catching Bill's attention. "Is there any way you can teach me that?"

Bill was more bemused by this than anything else. "Where'd we dig up this kid?"

"He just showed up in the middle of a fight.", Tricia answered as the others regrouped. "What for, I've no idea."

"Sorry about that.", Clarb said, shaking his head. "I just had a dream where this guy made of crystal told me I needed to seek you guys out. And here I am."

"Wait, 'guy made of crystal'?", Sandra realised. "Was he blue?"

"Exactly.", Caleb nodded, before realising something. "Wait, how did you know?"

As if on cue, the Ruby came flying in, ejecting Crystallia from itself. "I think you saw… my father.", she blurted out as she pulled herself up. "Oh, by the way. I'm Crystallia, I'm a space princess who provided these guys with their Ranger powers."

"And she's supposed tos Tay in that Crystal Tree for her own safety.", Sandra took over, pointing at the Crystal Tree. "You can see it, can't you? Otherwise, I'm just looking weird."

"I see it.", Caleb assured her. "I thought I was going mad, because no-one else could see it."

"Then that settles it.", Crystallia spoke up. "The Ruby has chosen you to be the Red Ranger, leader of the Gem Force."

"What?", Kent blurted out. "I thought I was the leader!"

"You? Don't make me laugh.", Tricia chuckled. "You couldn't lead a parade."

"Look, the gems choose who gets to be leader.", Crystallia pointed out. "You may not like this kid, but he's the boss now." The Ruby then generated a Morpher on Caleb's wrist, which instantly generated a suit over his body.

"Whoa, this is unbelievable.", Caleb said, with reserved shock. "I actually am a Power Ranger."

This was observed from within a pocket dimension known as the Dark avoid by Impura and Tracom. "So, the Power Rangers have a full five man lineup.", Impura noted. "Looks like we'll have to go all out with our assault."

"Need, it's time we destroy those Rangers!", Tracom cackled, before composing herself. "Ship, transform into the Darkness Mega Beast Pipeasaurus with the energy absorbed from Painpipe."

The ship landed, transforming into a giant monster with a head that resembled a monstrous tap and tentacled arms beneath a thick shell. "Time for a washout!", the creature snarled as it turned its own tap, spraying filthy water that corroded a set of pillars instantly, sending everyone running.

The Rangers soon found themselves standing at Pipeasaurus's feet as it continued to spray its liquid. "I think we'll need to hit that thing with all we've got.", Kent said to the others.

"Right." Bill and Tricia activated their Sabers, before running to attack the monster's legs, buffeting it, before Lent and Sandra fired their Blasters at its head, which caused Pipeasaurus to thrash about wildly. "Maybe we need a new plan.", Sandra suggested as she and the others leapt to dodge the rubble flying everywhere.

"Perhaps we could try thinking bigger.", Caleb suggested, as he held up the Ruby. "My dream suggested that I could make my own Zord using this." By concentrating, the gem grew in size before shattering to reveal a new shape, that unfolded into a giant sized car. "Ruby Racer Zord, take off!" Caleb leapt inside the vehicle rushing towards Pipeasaurus who was now drawing a spell seal on the ground with its fluid. The Racer Zord leapt past the creature's head and zoomed down a skyscraper, before striking the Darkness Mega Beast in the head, stopping its liquid from flowing.

"I don't believe it.", Bill commented as he pulled himself up. "That kid just got his Ranger powers and he's already doing it better than us."

But Pipeasaurus soon recovered, advancing on a building on top of which people were taking selfies and videos. "Not good.", Tricia commented. "Hey, new kid. There's a slight problem."

"On it.", Caleb nodded from within his Zord. "How about we go for something more suitable for these kinds of things." He swiped his hand over the steering wheel, reformatting the chicle into a fire rig. "Ruby Siren Zord, ready!" The giant vehicle pulled up to the building, deploying suspenders to keep itself steady as the ladder extended to the top of the building. "Let's go." Caleb ran up the ladder, wielding both regular weapons, before plugging the Diamond Saber into the Crystal Blaster. "Carat Cannon!" Caleb then inserted the explosive cartridges and leapt into the air, cocking the weapon. "Super Shining Blast!" He used the force of the two impacts to land on the roof, next to the trapped people. "Alright everyone, if you'll just follow me, I'll take you to safety."

On the ground, the other Rangers had witnessed all of this. "So all we need to do to create our Zords is just - think in front of the Gems?", Kent asked.

"Indeed.", Crystallia nodded. "Use the Summon App to call forth your Gems, and then picture your ideal vehicles in your mind. The Gems will make them reality."

Having figured out the other apps, the Rangers realised they had to press the one marked with a stylised vehicle, which they did. As their Gems appeared in front of them, the Rangers placed their hands on them, picturing vehicles. First of all, Sandra transformed the Diamond into a helicopter. "Diamond Chopper Zord! I've flown in this before, so I know it in and out."

Next up was Tricia, whose Emerald transformed into a green version of the form the Ruby had briefly taken. "Emerald Racer Zord! That car was too good-looking to go to waste."

Bill was the third to reshape his Gem, forming a flying vehicle. "Sapphire Jet Zord. Like my career, this thing can only rise higher."

Finally, Kent reshaped his Gem into the form of an excavator. "Opal Shovel Zord. I'm sticking with what I know."

The 4 Zords then joined the fifth in battle with Pipeasaurus, who was continuing to create the spell seal. This was observed by the villains from the Dark Void. "Hey, I thought they didn't have Zords yet!", Tracom bemoaned.

"They're growing stronger swiftly.", Impura commented. "Perhaps they'll actually be a challenge."

On the ground, the 5 Rangers brought their Zords into formation. "Let's clog up this faucet.", Caleb stated.

"Right.", the others nodded.

And thus, a battle begun. "Time to cut that monster down to size.", Bill decided, swinging the Sapphire Jet Zord around to trap Pipeasaurus in scaffolding.

"And then we'll give him a taste of his own medicine.", Sandra commented as she spun the propeller blades of the Diamond Chopper Zord to blow the brown liquid back at the Darkness Mega Beast, damaging Pipeasaurus.

The Opal Shovel was next to attack, throwing debris into its pipes to clog them, as the Chopper Zord returned to the fight to wrap Pipeasaurus's mouth in bandages to clog it even further. "Time for some fancy manoeuvring.", Tricia declared as she drove around the beast in the Emerald Racer.

"Thanks.", Caleb radioed as he had the Siren Zord fire a concentrated stream of water. "Time for the Hydro Blaster!"

Pipeasaurus was blown back into a skyscraper, from which the Diamond Chopper flew up from behind, carrying the Shovel Zord. "Time to dig up some dirt.", Sandra commented as she pressed a button on her console.

After a rough landing, the Shovel Zord moved forward and began turning the tap on Pipeasaurus, causing the pressure in its pipe mouth to blow away the restraints, releasing its stream of dirty water. "Erm, oops.", Kent commented.

"I can't believe you.", Tricia sighed. She then moved behind the Ruby Siren and revved up the car. "New kid, launch me!"

"Yes ma'am.", Caleb said in response as the Emerald Racer drove onto the Ruby Siren Zord, being launched off its ladder like a ramp and turning the tap the other way to stop it. This was swiftly followed by the Sapphire Jet flying around Pipeasaurus with such force that it severed all of the beast's tentacles, leaving it covering itself. "Alright, time to pound this monster down to size." The Siren Zord then launched the other 4 in their folded modes at Pipeasaurus, finishing it off. "Still Shining Bright!"

With Pipeasaurus's demise, the spell seal dispersed. "They did it.", Crystallia commented as she beheld the sight. "Our new Rangers have a chance of defeating the Darkraiders."

Back in the Dark Void, as Tracom began ranting and raving at their defeat, Impura opened a portal to re-enter his office, and dispersed his armour, returning to his guise as Leo Black. "So, the Power Rangers have fully formed and unlocked their true potential.", he commented, eyeing a drawer on his desk. "But let's just see how far they can go, before I need to enter the fray." He then began to laugh to himself.

Back in the streets, the Rangers celebrated their victory over the monster. "Way to go team.", Caleb cried out, before coming to a realisation. "Wait, I don't think we actually introduced ourselves to each other." He then powered down. "I'm Caleb, a student at the Sights Academy."

Kent decided to silently concede his point by undoing his morph as well. "I'm Kent. I'm a part-timer at Sights, because I'm also running a job in construction. We'll probably see each other around."

Tricia was next to do a face reveal. "Patricia Zoom, but my friends call me Tricia. If you're having any problems in your social life, just call me to sort it out."

Next was Bill. "I'm Bill. Currently trying to make it as a big star, but right now, I'm just an extra on a sitcom."

Finally, Sandra took off her suit. "Cassandra Violette, but I prefer Sandra. Currently living at the penthouse downtown, so make any business or social calls there."

"Oh, I think you're going to make a great team, in spite of their differences.", Crystallia assured them, as the six put their hands in a friendship circle, which they raised to the air.

"Power Rangers forever!"
