A few days have passed since Bruce Wayne, assistant to Professor Cerise decided to take part in the World Coronation Series, a competition were over 10,000 trainers battle it out to see who will become number one!
Bruce knew he had a long road ahead of him since he was only an aspiring trainer, who had barely made his debut. Luckily for him, he wasn't exactly a novice since he knew almost everything he needed to know about Pokemon from his years of studying.
And with his loyal Pokemon Sobble and Zubat by his side, Bruce felt like he could take anything on!
Currently the former research assistant turned Pokemon trainer was going to Ecruteak City, located in the Johto region. The reason he was going was to investigate the Burned Tower, a famous monument where it is said through legend that the legend beasts, Entei, Suicune, and Raikou originated from, after being reborn by Ho-Oh from the ashes of three Pokemon who perished during a great fire.
Now Bruce wasn't sure if the legend was true or not, but Professor Cerise had sent him to Johto in order to investigate the tower. He was planning to do this while at the same time training up to get ready to take on other trainers in the normal class, so that he could move on to the great class!
"I wonder what kind of trainers I'll encounter in Johto."said Bruce to himself, wondering who he was going to encounter.

A couple of moments later, Bruce was officially in the city. He was amazed by the rich culture of the city, and saw that a lot of people. He also noticed that Ecruteak City was a fusion of new and old, quickly telling him that the people of this city valued their culture.
"If my research is correct, the Burned Tower was built over 700 years ago in order to foster relationships between people and pokémon. But about 150 years ago, a mysterious fire was caused by a suddeen strike of a lightning bolt. In the assuing downpour, three nameless Pokemon lost their lives. Ho-Oh, who lived in the Bell Tower, flew over and used his magnificent power to revive these Pokemon as the legendary beasts. I want to investigate the Bell Tower, but only a handful of people are allowed in because it the tower is of high sanctity to the people of Johto."said Bruce to himself, before he noticed that someone was chasing after a Pokemon.
The Pokemon in question a small, mammalian, quadrupedal Pokémon with primarily brown fur. The tip of its bushy tail and its large furry collar are cream-colored. It has short, slender legs with three small toes and a pink paw pad on each foot. It has brown eyes, long pointed ears with dark brown interiors, and a small black nose.
"Someone, stop that thieving Eevee!"shouted a man who appeared to be a sushi chef, while Bruce pulled out his Pokedex app to identify the Pokemon in front of him.
(Pokedex: Eevee, the Evolution Pokémon. A Normal type. Because of its unstable DNA, Eevee possesses a wide variety of evolutionary possibilities hidden inside)
"So it has the potential to evolve into a variety of Pokemon... interesting. Hmm... based on the fur patterns on its tail, it's clearly male."said Bruce to himself, while the sushi chef tried to catch the evolution Pokemon.
But Eevee was a step ahead of the sushi chef, because he quickly used quick attack to get away instead of using it in the normal conventional sense!
"Dang it!"said the sushi chef, who quickly fell to the floor after realizing that the evolution Pokemon got away from him.
"That's the fifth time this week!"said the sadden sushi chef before Bruce approached him and handed him some pokedollars.
"I'll pay for that Pokemon, that way you don't lose any business."said Bruce, as he handed the chef the money.
"Are you that Eevee's trainer?"inquired the sushi chef.
"No, but I understand you're having a hard time. So this is the least I can do."said Bruce, causing the sushi chef to look at him skeptically before he took the money.
"Well, as long as my sushi is paid for, I don't care who does it."said the sushi chef before he walked away.
"Hey, you!"shouted a woman with blue hair, who was clearly a police officer based on her uniform.
"Can I help you?"inquire to Bruce, who recognized the woman as an officer Jenny.
This was because the Jenny family, which is mostly female look a lot alike, and most of them take up occupations in law enforcement!
"Are you that thieving Eevee's trainer?"inquired the police woman.
"No. I just thought that chef could use a break after getting robbed five times by the same Pokemon."said Bruce, wondering when he turned out to be the bad guy.
"Hmm... well I know pretty much everyone's face here in Ecruteak City, so right away I know you're a new face."set officer Jenny, while inspecting Bruce.
"Is that Eevee famous or something?"inquired Bruce, quickly deducing that this police officer has been looking for that particular Pokemon for a while now, based on the expression on her face.
'How do I know this?'wondered Bruce, wondering when he became such a detective.
"Yes. For the last couple of days, the particular Eevee has been stealing food from pretty much every food business all over the city. I've tried multiple times to bring him in, but he keeps using quick attack to get away."said officer Jenny, who looked clearly frustrated by the fact she couldn't catch a thieving Pokemon.
"I'm sure he has his reasons."said Bruce, causing officer Jenny to look at him with a weird look.
"What do you mean?"inquired officer Jenny.
"I believe he's taking that piece of sushi he stole to someone else. Since if it was for him, that Eevee would have eaten it at the first opportunity."said Bruce, who has worked around enough thieving Pokemon to know that they eat their food at the first opportunity.
But this Eevee was clearly taking the food to someone else, since it looks so desperate to protect the food at all costs!
"Are you sure he wasn't taking it as a snack?"inquired officer Jenny, feeling like what Bruce said was kind of a stretch.
"It's just a hypothesis."said Bruce, who's gut was telling him that he was right.
"Since when do we have a private investigator here in Ecruteak City?"inquired the police officer.
"I'm not a private investigator. I'm a research assistant for Professor Cerise. He sent me here to investigate the Burned Tower."said Bruce, while pulling out his ID.
"Oh, so you're the famous scholar. I'm sorry for suspecting you, Mr Wayne. I'm just stressed about that Eevee, since it's my job to catch him."said officer Jenny, who look like one of those civil servants that was overworked and underpaid.
"I'll keep an eye out for him. Since I'm sure he's not a bad Pokemon, just a desperate one."said Bruce, before he excused himself and walked away.
"Be sure the contact the police if you have any leads."shouted officer Jenny, as Bruce walked away.
"I have a gut feeling I haven't seen the last of that Eevee."said Bruce, who knew that his gut was usually right.
But he was here for a job, so he decided to quickly head to the Tower he was here to investigate.
About half an hour later he arrived at the tower, or what was left of it.
"It's amazing that anything still stands at all."said Bruce to himself before he headed towards the inside of the Tower.
"According to Legends, three nameless Pokemon died in the mysterious fire 150 years ago. Seeing this injustice, the legendary Pokemon Ho-Oh used his rainbow colored wings to revive the three pokémon as the legendary beasts Raikou, Suicune, an Entei. But instead of cherishing these beautiful pokémon for what they were, the people back then were afraid, because of how the three pokémon cheated death. They try to use violence to suppress them, but the revived Pokemon never fought back... Instead they looked on with pity, before leaving these lands for somewhere else."said Bruce to himself, recalling everything he learned of the Tower and its history.
"The legendary Pokemon Lugia once called this place it's home...when this place was known as The Brass Tower. It's a shame people back then could not see Pokemon for the beautiful creatures that they are, and where instead of afraid of them. I wonder if the legendary beasts will ever trusts humans again..."said Bruce to himself as he was investigating the tower.
"Even after over 100 years of being burnt down, no one has tried to rebuild it out of respect...or perhaps because they did not want to forget their mistake."said Bruce, as he made his way through the tower.
That is when his stomach started rumbling, causing him to check his watch and see that it was already lunch time.
"Oh, it's already time for lunch."said Bruce, who decided to sit down in the tower to have his meal.
"I better not make a mess, since this place is sacred."said Bruce, as he pulled out a sandwich, only it further to be taken away by an Eevee a few seconds later!
"Huh?"said Bruce, as he noticed the evolution Pokemon running away with his sandwich.
"Come back!"shouted Bruce before he ran after the Pokemon in question.
Eevee ignored what the human had to say and continued running, but appeared to be surprised that the human he recently stole food from was able to keep up with him!
"Sorry to disappoint, but I keep in shape."said Bruce, who for some reason had the fixation to always keep his body and tip top shape.
Even the sandwich she was about to eat was full of healthy meats and vegetables, with no added condiments. It was a sandwich meant for someone who lives a healthy diet.
Eevee meanwhile tried to use quick attack to get away, but that is when someone stood in front of him!
"Stop! You are under arrest for stealing food!"shouted one officer Jenny, feeling like she cornered though thieving Pokemon she has been looking for the last several days.
Eevee immediately stopped in his tracks, trying to figure out a way to get away! He looked around desperately for an escape, before he spotted one and ran into a nearby alley!
"Wait!"shouted officer Jenny before she pursued her target.
Eevee meanwhile up here to have run into a dead end as there was nothing beyond a huge wall and some trash!
"Got you now!"said the police officer with confidence, before what she saw the evolution Pokemon do next.
Eeevee immediately started jumping on some trash and used it as footholds to allow itself to gain an upper level of the wall that was cracked. He then used said crack as a foothold before he jumped over the wall to who knows where.
"Get out of the way!"said Bruce, who then started using his extremely fit body to use parkour skills to go after Eevee!
He did the same thing Eevee did, by using several of the trash around as footholds, before jumping on the crack the evolution Pokemon used as a foothold to jump over the wall, which was strong enough to allow Bruce to do the same!
"Wow!"said officer Jenny, who was impressed!
She then realize she had a job to do, so she decided to find another way to go after Eevee!
Bruce meanwhile continued to chase after Eevee, causing the Pokemon in questions to sweat a little, as no human has ever been this persistent! He knew he couldn't let this human follow him to his destination, otherwise he would turn them into the police! So the evolution Pokemon tried to use quick attack to get away!
"Oh no, you don't!"said Bruce before he lunged at the Pokemon called Eevee, and managed to grapple him into a firm hold.
"Got you."said Bruce, having a firm hold on the evolution Pokemon.
"Eev vee eev eev!"said the evolution Pokemon, struggling to breakaway while trying to hold on to the sandwich he had stolen.
Bruce noticed this, and knew for a fact that the evolution Pokemon knew that it would break away easier if ihe let go of the sandwich. But for some reason it would not drop the sandwich, like it was desperate to make sure the sandwich was okay.
That is when the sandwich fell out of Eevee's mouth! The evolution Pokemon could do nothing, as he watched the sandwich about to hit the floor before Bruce caught it at the last second, and handed it back to Eevee.
"Your bringing this to someone, aren't you."said Bruce, causing the evolution Pokemon to look at him with a strange look.
All Eevee's life he has been treated nothing more than an accessory by people who wanted to capture him. He run away from girls who wanted to make him their pet. He ran away from wannabe trainers who wanted to evolve him into whatever eevolution they dreamed of! But this human in front of him did not have those eyes, no.. He had the eyes of someone who genuinely wanted to help him.
"Stop right there!"shouted officer Jenny, who appeared to run the long way to catch up.
"Officer Jenny, please wait!"shouted Bruce, getting the attention of the police officer, as she approached.
"What's wrong?"inquired the police officer, wondering what was happening.
"Let us let this little guy show us where he's taking this sandwich, since he was so desperate to make sure nothing happened to it."said Bruce, causing officer Jenny to look at him with a confused look.
"Are you sure that's a good idea?"inquired the police officer.
"He does it appear to be a bad Pokemon, just a desperate Pokemon. I've done enough research to tell the difference."said Bruce before he put Eevee down, and handed him the sandwich.
"Why don't you show us the real reason why you've been stealing food from all over Ecruteak City."said Bruce, who's gut was telling him there was more to this story than officer Jenny knew.
Eevee look down with curiosity before nodding his head. He then took the sandwich and slowly began walking to a another alley close by. Bruce and officer Jenny closely followed him, all the while the officer prepared a pokeball to use in case the evolution Pokemon tried anything funny. A few seconds later they arrived in a dark alley, and Eevee proceed to move some trash bags.
It was there that another Pokemon was revealed to have been laying there, and it was not in great shape...
The Pokemon question was a quadrupedal, canine Pokémon with short, black fur and a red underbelly and muzzle. Its ears and tail are both short and pointed. Two fangs protrude from its upper jaw, and its triangular nose is black. There are white bands on its ankles and rib-like ridges on its back. It appears to have a simplistic, stylized skull on its forehead with the eye orbits creating eyebrow patterning above its actual eyes. It also has circular, red paw pads on each of its three-toed paws.
"Who's that Pokemon?"said Bruce as he pulled up the Pokedex app.
(Pokedex: Houndour, the dark Pokemon. A dark and fire type. It uses different kinds of cries for communicating with others of its kind and for pursuing its prey)
"So Eevee has been stealing food to feed to his wounded friend."said officer Jenny, realizing that Bruce was right the whole time.
"It hasn't been eating."said Bruce, noticing the rotten food around the dark Pokemon.
That is when he got a closer look at its face and noticed it happened poisoned!
"It must have gone into a fight with a poison-type Pokemon, who used a poison type move against him. Here, I have a pecha berry he can eat to remove the poison."said Bruce before he pulled out a pecha berry from his bag.
He then made his way over to Houndour, all the while Eevee looked on closely, worried about his friend.
"Here, eat this and you'll feel better."said Bruce, causing the dark Pokemon to open his eyes and look at the pecha berry.
It then proceeded to sniff the berry, before it took a bite. A few more bites in the berry was completely gone. Houndour meanwhile appeared to have finally been cured of its poisonous purple markings around its face disappeared.
"We need to get this Houndour to a Pokemon center to see if he's okay."said Bruce before he proceeded to pick up the dark Pokemon.
"I know where the closest Pokemon center is! I'll lead the way!"said officer Jenny before she and Bruce began running out of the dark alley with Houndour.
Eevee couldn't believe that his friend was being helped by someone who didn't even know him. Several people had passed through the alleyway and saw the wounded Pokemon, but did nothing...Now this complete stranger was going to help him! Eevee been smiled as he followed after Bruce and officer Jenny.

(Ecruteak City Pokemon center)
About half an hour later, officer Jenny, Bruce, and Eevee were waiting in the waiting room of the Pokemon center as Nurse Joy and her Pokemon, Chansey, were busy healing Houndour using heal bell. As Chansey was using heal bell, Nurrse Joy was busy injecting the dark Pokemon with strong medication to help heal any infections it may have sustained over the last days of being poisoned.
Eevee looked at the room where his friend was with worry, before Bruce picked them up.
"Don't worry, I'm sure he'll be okay."said Bruce, comforting the evolution Pokemon.
About ten minutes later, Nurse Joy came out of the back with a happy Houndour, now looking like it was full of vigor.
"How is Houndour, Nurse Joy?"inquired officer Jenny, wanting to know if the dark pokémon would be okay.
"I'm happy to report that the pecha berry removed most of the poison. And that the medications I injected into Houndour allowed him a speedy recovery. Heal bell has also removed any of the negative long-term effects. Just give him a few days, and it will be like it never happened."said the nurse with a smile.
"Thank you."said Bruce, who proceeded to put Eevee next to his friend.
"Eev!"said the evolution Pokemon before he nuzzled against his dark type friend.
"Hou!"said Houndour, who was happy to see his friend happy.
"I still have to do something all the food that Eevee stole."said officer Jenny, before Bruce handed her some money.
"Use is to pay off anyone that Eevee stole from and I'm sure they'll drop the charges. He's nothing but just a desperate Pokemon doing the best he could for his friend."said Bruce what a warm smile.
"Well... I guess I should try that... It's going to be a lot of paperwork, but I think it will be worth it."said officer Jenny, as she took the money.
"Now I got to go continue my research on the Burned Tower, so I'll be going."said Bruce, before he noticed the two Pokemon he had helped stopping him.
"Is something wrong?"inquired Bruce, noticing that the Pokemon didn't want him to leave.
"I think they want to go with you."said officer Jenny, with Nurse Joy nodding her head in agreement.
"Are you sure?"said Bruce, wondering why Eevee and Houndour wanted to go with him.
"You're probably the kindest human they ever met. So it's no wonder they want to go with you."said Nurse Joy, who could tell that these Pokemon didn't want to be separated from Bruce.
"Do you two want to come with me?"inquired Bruce, causing both the evolution Pokemon and dark Pokemon to nod their heads.
"I'll take that as a yes."said Bruce has he pulled out two pokeballs, to which the evolution Pokemon and dark Pokemon press their heads against them.
This cause the two pokeballs to open up and absorb both Pokemon inside! Once they were completely absorbed did the pokeballs close, and began wiggling in both of Bruce's hands. A few seconds later, the wiggling stopped and click sound was heard, indicating that the Pokemon Eevee and Houndour had been successfully captured!
"Yes! I just caught an Eevee and Houndour!"shouted Bruce, as he held the pokeballs high in the air.
"Make sure to take good care of them."said officer Jenny, before she handed Bruce a piece of paper and began walking away.
Bruce opened up the piece of paper to see it was a phone number.
He then looked over at officer Jenny, who made the 'call me' motion.
"Heh!"said Bruce, wondering when he became such a ladies man, as officer Jenny left the building.
"Well, I better go research the Tower more before I leave Johto. I have my first upcoming battle in the normal class coming up."set Bruce before he walked out of the Pokemon center with the intention of investigating the Burned Tower some more, before he would officially make his way home to Vermilion City.
That is where his upcoming battle against the trainer in the normal class was waiting!
And now he had two new Pokemon to use on his team!
And he couldn't wait to test the two of them in a few days!
