For my 200th story, a brand new adventure has opened the way. Davis, Tai, and their friends have grown and now the time has come to pass the baton to the next generation. Others might be against it, but with new digivices, new digimon, and new digidestined; it could all be a sign that the time draws near for both the human world and the digital world to truly become one.

Digimon are back again

Haru: We arrived back in the human world and met with Tai and Davis at Tokyo Tower. As we were wondering how things got so out of control, we met Homeostasis and went through a trip down memory lane. After that, Hiori contacted us and told us that the guardian digimon were coming to Odaiba in order to defeat us before they can destroy the human world. GigaSeadramon, Lotosmon, and Blastmon were already on their way, but we decided to take a stand against them. They might not believe in the powers between humans an digimon, but we'll show them.

"Knowing How Far"

With Fanglongmon's forces on their way, Odaiba's only defense would be the digidestined. As the other digimon attacked the human world, the six guardians can focus on them. The first to arrive was GigaSeadramon as he emerged out of the water.

"So this is one of the city that humans tend to live in, and it looks like I'm the first one here." GigaSeadramon said. "It looks like a city of blocks. This should be fun to knock down." GigaSeadramon began his attack as he fired an energy blast right at the city and caused some damage to it. As his attack was going on, Ben rode on MailBirdramon and saw what happened.

"Oh no! We're too late!" MailBirdramon said. "GigaSeadramon is already here and he's already begun his attack."

"In that case, we need to stop him here and now!" Ben said. They flew in with Ben jumping off and landing on the dock. "Let's do this MailBirdramon!" He held out his digivice with MailBirdramon flying in.

"MailBirdramon digivolve to...MetalRodanmon!"

Once he digivolved, he flew in the way of GigaSeadramon with him taking his stand against him.

"This is as far as you go, GigaSeadramon!" MetalRodanmon claimed. "Go back to the Digital World while you still can and leave the human world in peace."

"It's you again!" GigaSeadramon said as he remembered them from before. "Good. I get to finish what I started, and you won't be able to escape this time!"

"Well, I warned him." MetalRodanmon said.

"Full Barrage!" MetalRodanmon began the battle as he unleashed his attack and tried blasting GigaSeadramon. GigaSeadramon didn't even flinch or anything. All of his attacks just bounced off against the giant serpent.

"Is that really all you've got?" GigaSeadramon mocked. "You fool. Let me show you what a real digimon can do." He charged right in and smashed himself against MetalRodanmon. Ben knew this wasn't going to be easy, but he still has to try and do something to stop him. MetalRodanmon tried to fight back as he kept firing blasts at him, but all of his attacks weren't really affecting him. "It's pointless, MetalRodanmon. You don't have the power to defeat me!" He raised his tail and used it like a club with him smashing it against MetalRodanmon and knocking him back on the dock.

"This is bad." Ben said. "GigaSeadramon is at a higher level than MetalRodanmon. He's too powerful. We need a plan or else we're in trouble."

"You're already in a lot of trouble." GigaSeadramon claimed. He took his tail and wrapped it around MetalRodanmon with him trying to squeeze the life out of him like a snake. "I'm not playing games here, MetalRodanmon. Say goodbye!" He squeezed and tried to crush him. MetalRodanmon couldn't get free and might be in some real trouble.

"Oxygen Torpedo!"

"Giga Scissor Claw!" Luckily, helped arrived. GigaSeadramon was blasted from the water down below with a large digimon flying in and slashing his claws against. That allowed MetalRodanmon to slip out of there and freed himself from GigaSeadramon.

"One of those attacks... Submariemon, are you there?" MetalRodanmon questioned.

"Right here!" Submariemon said as he emerged out of the water and MetalRodanmon meeting with a giant beetle-like digimon.

"Submariemon?! That means Cody must be near!" Ben said.

"Ben!" Ben turned around and saw Cody and Izzy hurrying over to him.

"Izzy! Cody! You're here!" Ben said.

"Yeah. Tai and Davis called us and told us what was going on." Izzy said. "We thought you could use a little help, and it seems like we got here just in time."

"I'm glad you did. I recognize Submariemon, but who is the other one?" Ben asked.

"That is HerculesKabuterimon, Tentomon's mega level." Izzy said.

"Are you okay, MetalRodanmon?" Submariemon asked.

"I am thanks to you. Good thing we have a mega on our side." MetalRodanmon said and turned to GigaSeadramon. "Be careful. GigaSeadramon is powerful. It's going to take a lot to defeat him."

"GigaSeadramon, please listen!" Cody called as he was hoping to end this in a peaceful manner. "Please return to the Digital World! There's no reason for this!"

"No reason?! You humans have brought nothing but disaster to the Digital World! We're the ones that are going to end it!" GigaSeadramon said as he tried to attack all three of them at once, but they all moved out of the way.

"Time to give this guy the point!" Submariemon said as he rammed GigaSeadramon, but he just completely bounced off him with GigaSeadramon knocking him away with his tail.

"If GigaSeadramon is stronger than MetalSeadramon, he must be made out of chrome digizoid. That's the strongest substance in the Digital World." Izzy said. "It's not going to be easy to penetrate through it."

"Mega Electro Shocker!" HerculesKabuterimon attacked with a powerful electric blast. It smashed right into GigaSeadramon, but it looked like it did less damage than how it looked.

"Not bad, but not good either!" GigaSeadramon claimed as he tried to ram HerculesKabuterimon, but he was able to avoid him in time. However, there was a problem. HerculesKabuterimon was already taking deep breaths, but he hasn't done that much.

"HerculesKabuterimon, what's wrong?" MetalRodanmon asked.

"I'm sorry." HerculesKabuterimon claimed. "My partnership with Izzy is different than how it was before. I'm trying to maintain my mega level. I only have about half the power I had before."

"I see... Agumon told us about that." MetalRodanmon said as this could be a problem.

"HerculesKabuterimon has only about half of his strength? That's not good." Ben said. "GigaSeadramon isn't going to show any mercy." 'Come to think of it, once everything returns to normal, Tentomon and the others are probably going to disappear. It's like nothing is going to go well for us.' He thought as he tried to think of how to fix all of this. 'No, Ben! Stay focus on what's happening right now! I need to think of a way we can defeat GigaSeadramon.'

"You will never defeat me!" GigaSeadramon declared as he tried to attack the three digimon again, but they all tried to stay out of reach. Submariemon tried to fight back as he fired blasts of oxygen at him, but they weren't doing much. GigaSeadramon dived under the water and chased after him. Submariemon kept swimming around in different directions to try and shake him. "The serpentine maneuver? I'm an actual serpent!"

"Submariemon, jump out of the water so I know where you are!" MetalRodanmon called. Submariemon did just that as he jumped right out of the water.

"Full Barrage!" MetalRodanmon unleashed a series of attacks on GigaSeadramon, but they all did nothing. All it did was have GigaSeadramon turn to him and attack him instead.

"Giga Sea Destroyer!" GigaSeadramon launched his own attack and blasted MetalRodanmon rather hard. HerculesKabuterimon just charged right in to attack, but GigaSeadramon rammed his head against HerculesKabuterimon and knocked him back.

"Face it. You don't have what it takes to win this war." GigaSeadramon claimed. "Even as we speak, our soldiers are attacking parts of your world and destroying it piece by piece. We're aiming to destroy all of it before the two worlds crash into each other, and in doing so will make the Digital World a better place."

"But you'll end up destroying many innocent lives!" Cody called.

"There's nothing innocent about you humans." GigaSeadramon said.

"You're wrong about humans, GigaSeadramon." MetalRodanmon said. "Humans and digimon are capable of living together. There has to be another way. Destroying this world will destroy the balance."

"The humans have brought this upon themselves, and you digimon that side with them are considered traitors." GigaSeadramon claimed. "You can fight all you want, but force of will isn't enough. I'm fighting for a cause."

"And you think we're not?!" MetalRodanmon called as he felt insulted.

"You are traitors that must be punished!" GigaSeadramon called.

"Sky Wave!" GigaSeadramon launched a series of attacks right at them.

"Sky Shield!" MetalRodanmon formed his shield to try and block the attack to prevent his friends of the city from taking any damage. He tried to keep the shield going, but all the blasts coming at them was hard as the explosions was fierce. When his shield barely hold, GigaSeadramon rammed it and broke through and smashed against him. HerculesKabuterimon grabbed a hold of GigaSeadramon and tried to hold him down, but GigaSeadramon kept flailing around to break free.

"This is insane." Cody said. "His attacks pack a pretty large punch, and he just simply refuses to negotiate."

"HerculesKabuterimon can hold him off, but without all of his power, I'm afraid we can't count on just him." Izzy said.

"I'm trying to think of a plan, but I'm coming up with nothing." Ben said as he was having his brain go as hard as it could to try and think of a way they can win this fight. "Izzy, you said he might be made out of chrome digizoid, right? What else can you tell me about it?"

"Just what I said. It's an alloy that's considered the strongest in the Digital World." Izzy said. "Some digimon use it for their armor or weapons."

"I know a bit or two about it myself." MetalRodanmon said as he landed down. "His armor is not made out of that material, but close. The problem is that it's just as powerful. It doesn't mean that it's indestructible."

"So how do we beat him?" Ben said as he can't figure this out.

"Enough!" GigaSeadramon said as he was able to break himself free from HerculesKabuterimon. He smashed himself against HerculesKabuterimon and he was done messing around. "Now you humans will face justice!" GigaSeadramon leaped right at Ben, Izzy, and Cody to finish them off. All three of them moved away from him and tried to take cover as GigaSeadramon's head smashed into the concrete of the dock.

"No you don't!" HerculeKabuterimon said as he grabbed him by the tail and pull him back. However, GigaSeadramon fired another one of his energy torpedoes and it headed straight for the three of them. "Oh no!" The torpedo combusted and all three of them were blown around by it.

"Ben/Cody/Izzy!" All three of their digimon called. MetalRodanmon flew right over and made sure all three of them were safe.

"Are you guys okay?" MetalRodanmon asked.

"I think so..." Ben said as they were all thrown for a loop for a moment. They were still in some pain, but they were still able to pull themselves together. "I'm not sure we can really keep going like this. We better think of something and fast, but I'm coming up with nothing."

"Can't you see that it's pointless?" GigaSeadramon questioned. "I'm far stronger than any of you, and my reasons for fighting are stronger."

"You're reasons for fighting?" Ben questioned.

"What do you mean?" MetalRodanmon questioned.

"You might be fighting for your very survival, and that might be enough some of the time, but not this time." GigaSeadramon said. "As I said before, I'm fighting for the cause. What are you humans fighting for? Is it it just to protect your precious world?"

"Of course not! We want to help the digimon as well!" Cody called.

"To continue spreading chaos? What have the digimon ever done for you or to you?" GigaSeadramon said as he just doesn't understand what they're fighting for.

"We've got plenty to fight for! The digimon helped us make who we are!" Izzy said. All this talk on what the digimon has done might have helped them, but it's got Ben wondering. What exactly have they done to make Ben who he is?

'I haven't. That hasn't exactly happened to me.' Ben thought. Sure, Swallowmon has been nice to his little sister and helped in his fear of water, but that was really just about it. Ben never really went through some sort of emotional growth or problem like the others really have. 'Is that why I can't figure this out? Is it because I don't know enough? Not about the digimon, but about myself? Could what GigaSeadramon be saying apply to me?' Ben was starting to wonder if there really isn't much for him to fight for and that's why he can't figure out how to win. MetalRodanmon noticed Ben was distracted.

"Ben? What's wrong?" MetalRodanmon said.

"I... I don't know..." Ben said.

"We can still win this! I have an idea!" Izzy called. "Submariemon, try and surround GigaSeadramon with oxygen! HerculeKabuterimon, don't let him escape!" Both digimon went with his plan as HerculeKabuterimon tried to hold him down while Submariemon surrounded him with bubbles of oxygen.

"I see!" Ben said. "Izzy is going to produce a powerful electric charge from the water and oxygen to try and deal a lot of damage to GigaSeadramon!" It's brilliant, but is it really going to work?

"At least now we can talk." MetalRodanmon said as he grabbed a hold of Ben and lifted him up on his shoulder.

"MetalRodanmon, now isn't really a good time." Ben said.

"I think it is." MetalRodanmon said. "You're distracted, and that's why you can't think clearly. Ben, it's okay not to have all the answers. What matters is that we stop GigaSeadramon and protect the city. It doesn't really matter how."

"That's... That's not it." Ben said.

"Then, what is it?" MetalRodanmon asked.

"It's... It's what GigaSeadramon said. It didn't really hit me till just now." Ben said. "The others... Each one of them went through something that they were able to use to help them grow or something they were fighting for. I didn't exactly have that. Haru was orphaned, Sid felt abandoned by his father, Taku felt distant from his mother, Amanda was estranged by her family and lost her mother, and Mary hates fighting while also loving digimon when her parents hate it. I didn't have anything like that. I was pretty satisfied with my life and my family."

"But you wanted to know more about us digimon." MetalRodanmon said. "You're a smart boy, Ben. You wanted to simply to know more, just as Cody and Izzy did. Honestly, that's all you really needed, Ben."

"It is?" Ben questioned.

"You were curious about us. You wanted to learn more about us, more than some wanted to do." MetalRodanmon said. "Your desire to learn more is what kept you going. It's why you fought like you have. You just simply wanted to know more because it's who you are." That's when it hit Ben. MetalRodanmon was right. Ben's desire for knowledge and wanting to know more about the digimon is what really helped him. It's what kept him going.

"You're right." Ben said. MetalRodanmon could feel something big was coming as he flew up and floated in the air.

"Now! HerculesKabuterimon, blast him with some electricity!" Izzy called as he thought it was time.

"I don't think so!" GigaSeadramon called as he fought back.

"Sky Wave!" GigaSeadramon unleashed his attack with it aimed straight up in the air. Then, it came back down and rained against the digimon with HerculesKabuterimon getting bombarded with attacks and Submariemon getting blown around by the attacks. As for MetalRodanmon, he just stood there as he trusted Ben.

"Ben, get out of there!" Cody called, but neither of them moved.

"What's this? Accepted your demise, have you?!" GigaSeadramon taunted. GigaSeadramon's attack came down right on MetalRodanmon as well. It did not look good with Cody and Izzy thinking those two are really hurt...or worse.

'MetalRodanmon is right. I never needed a reason like the others.' Ben thought. 'I just simply wanted to know more about the digimon. I wanted to learn more about all of it. There's no real reason for it. It's just who I am; and I feel like I have gotten better because I had you by my side.' They were all worried Ben and MetalRodanmon was finished, but they saw the smoke clear away and saw both of them were still standing.

"What's this?! How can he still be standing?!" GigaSeadramon questioned. The two of them just stood up there and kept their firm ground.

"MetalRodanmon, can you keep going?" Ben asked.

"I can." MetalRodanmon said as he could feel something building inside him.

"Good." Ben said. "I want to know more. I want to know more about the digimon, I want to know more about the Digital World, and I want to know...just how far we can go!" He claimed as a new power was released. A power Ben awakened from realizing a big piece of who he is. Gennai once told them that to have their digimon digivolve, they need to want the power and let it out. That's what's happening now as MetalRodanmon is enveloped in a pillar of light.

"MetalRodanmon digivolve to..." MetalRodanmon was digivolving with the armor bursting right off and replaced with new armor. He had chest armor with leg braces and gauntlets. He also had armor on his wings with turbines on it. He was also given a metal blue helmet. As for the rest of his body, it was revealed that he was like a humanoid eagle with navy blue feathers. "JetGarudamon!"

Digimon Analyzer: We've done it, Ben. We've unlocked my mega level. I am the perfect combination of machine and nature of the sky. My Plasma Arrow pierces through all.

JetGarudamon stood in the air with his new form astonishing them all.

"He digivolved to mega?! How?!" GigaSeadramon said.

"Photon Cyclone!" JetGarudamon had the turbines on his wings spin around and he unleashed twin cyclones of photon energy with them blasting against GigaSeadramon. GigaSeadramon tried to fight back as he unleashed another energy torpedo right at them. It made contact and he thought that did it, but he was surprised to see to JetGarudamon wasn't even hurt. When that attack failed, JetGarudamon held out his arm and a bow formed from his gauntlet with energy forming. He pulled it back and it formed an arrow aimed right for GigaSeadramon.

"Give up, GigaSeadramon! This is your last chance or we will destroy you!" Ben warned.

"Never!" GigaSeadramon called as he made one more brave attack and charged right at them.

"Plasma Arrow!" JetGarudamon unleashed the arrow and it pierced right through GigaSeadramon. Not even his armor could protect him from it as the arrow pierced right through his body. When that happened, his body crashed into the water with his body breaking apart into data.

"We won!" Izzy said.

"Amazing!" Cody said as they were all impressed with what they just saw.

"We really won." Ben said as he couldn't stop being amazed with this new power. "This new form of yours is amazing. I would love to know more about it."

"So would I." JetGarudamon said. "See, Ben? It's just how you are, and that is enough. You might not have gone through some of the things that the others have, but you're a good person and your desire for knowledge seems to know no bounds with you using it for all the right reasons." Ben was feeling rather good about it himself. He seems to know himself better than he did before.
