A/N: As of writing this I posted the first chapter 7-ish hours ago and i just want to say thank you, in the span of 7 hours I definitely did not think it would have any readers lol, anyways enjoy chapter 2 of Take Me Back

4pm, Streets of the Hidden Leaf, Day before the Time Travel

"Hey Boruto! Wait up!" yelled Sadara, "Wait for me too!" yelled Mitsuki. Boruto turned around to see the rest of Team 7 running towards him. They had just finished training and received the rest of the day off to pack for their 'field trip'. Truth be told the kids had no idea where they're going, only the parents. They didn't even know how long the trip was.

Boruto, Sadara, Mitsuki, Inojin, Shikadai, ChoCho, and Metal Lee were allowed the only ones by their parents to go. Sasuke had to explain to their parents and not everyone was comfortable in letting a guy, who is barely in the village, take their children on a magic school bus type of trip.

Naruto had let Hinata know what it was and although she didn't enjoy the idea of it, she let him go anyways. Same could be said with Sadara, of course Sasuke wanted to take her but Sakura was hesitant.

Ino and Sai said Inojin was mature but they both agreed he needed to prepare for the worse.

Shikamaru was said it was troublesome and that it gave him a headache, so Sasuke had to talk to Temari about it...which also gave Sasuke a headache. Turns out blondes can be troublesome but she agreed because he was 'too damn much like his father' which she just basically called both of the Nara's lazy.

Karui and Choji said it would be beneficial for ChoCho. Choji even said he would help pack extra snacks for everyone.

Rock Lee said it was 'absolutely an essential trip for the youthfulness of the next generation' which made Sasuke sweatdrop and almost regret asking him.

Mitsuki didn't really have a say so as Orochimaru was never even asked. Sasuke and Naruto figured it would be best if the old Sannin didn't know about time travel.

Back to the new Team 7, they are currently walking towards the academy as everyone who is going on the trip agreed to meet there. Well, the kids agreed to meet there, Sasuke was nowhere to be found.

"What do you guys think the trip is going to be about?" asked Boruto. He kept asking his parents and Sasuke but they just ignored it and changed the subject.

"I have no idea but Mom said it would be good for us to 'get out for once', which makes no sense to me because we are all either training or doing missions. Also only a few of us are going. Iwabe, Denki, Sumire, Namida and Wasabi's parent all said no or they themselves didn't want to go." Sadara stated before Mitsuki spoke,

"Well whatever it is i'm glad you two are going. I'm sure it will be fun." said Mitsuki. Mitsuki really didn't care where they went, as long as he could observe Boruto more.

"Hey now that I think of it, everyone who is going are the children of people who were in my dad's class, ya know." grinned Boruto. Sadara looked at Boruto with surprise. "Did he just actually make an observation BEFORE ME???" The young Uchiha couldn't believe it. Boruto of all people had just thought of something before her.

A tickmark appeared on her head, "YOU THINK WE DIDNT NOTICE THAT ALREADY??" Sadara yelled while obviously bluffing. She didn't make the connection at all.

"Uh-huh really? If you had already known that why didn't you say something about then? Huh?" grinned Boruto. Him and Mitsuki kept walking while Sadara stood still and started stammering, it had been obvious she was caught.

"W-w-well you know I-I just didn't think tha- HEY WAIT UP GUYS!" Sadara yelled while running to catch up. When she caught up to Boruto and Mitsuki they had arrived back at the front of the academy where everyone else was waiting.

"Hey guys, what's up? Y'all ready for this trip?" Boruto said while grinning ear to ear. For the first time since they became genin, most of his class is together like he wanted. They all greeted each other and caught up on how everyone was doing.

Team 7 told everyone about their mission and how their respective training had been going. The Ino-Shika-Cho trio told everyone how their teamwork was getting better and better, they even train together in their free time. Metal told everyone how he had been training with his father to perfect his 'leaf hurricane' and how to perform even when nervous. Before they knew it the sun was starting to set. They all said their respective good nights and goodbyes before they all went home. Boruto and Shikadai lived the same direction so they just decided to walk together.

The walk was quieter than usual until Boruto got tired of the silence and asked Shikadai what he thought the trip was about. After all, he is the son of a genius. Unfortunately for the two genin, Shikamaru and Temari kept their mouth shut about the whole trip and said the same thing Sakura had said. When they got to Boruto's house they waved goodbye. They both ended up going straight to bed and being tired from the previous hours they had spent training. They did, however, remember to set their alarm for the morning. They had a very big day.

5am, Uzumaki Resident, Day of the Trip

*BEEP*BEEP*BEEP*BEEP*

Boruto rolled over and smacked his alarm clock. He groggily looked at the time and sighed. "Why do I have to get up so early again?" he thought to himself. "Wait..OH SHIT TODAY IS THE DAY OF THE TRIP" Shaking his head and rapidly trying to wake himself up. Boruto sat straight up and jumped out of bed, ready to start the day.

He went through his morning routine of eating breakfast, taking a quick shower, brushing his teeth and hair, threw on his clothes and ran down the stairs. Normal morning for Boruto as he said hello to his mom who also got up to wish him off. Himawari was still sleeping in her bed and who knows where Naruto is or if he even came home last night. Boruto sighed, he really wanted to see his dad before he left but it appears Naruto had already left.

Boruto left his house and met up with the rest of his friends outside of the Training Grounds so they could walk in together.

5:53am, Training Ground 8

Boruto and his friends were all hanging around under the trees waiting for Sasuke to appear. ChoCho was munching on chips, Shikadai was asleep against a tree while Inojin was drawing him. Metal was doing his daily pushups. Sadara and Boruto were arguing about what the trip was while Mitsuki was just watching them with a stoic face and observing it.

Meanwhile Sasuke was watching from a few trees away with a certain blonde kage.

"You still think this is the best way?" asked a worried Naruto. Sure Naruto wanted what was best for his village's shinobi but he also was worried about the safety of the kids.

"Hn."

"That's not a clear answer, ya know?"

"Hn."

"Why are you like this?"

"Hn."

Naruto internally sighed, he knew he wasn't going to get anywhere. If there was someone as stubborn or more stubborn as him, it was Sasuke Uchiha.

"Well let's go it's almost 6am" Naruto said. Sasuke nodded and they simultaneously jumped down in front of the group. They all stared at them for a second before ChoCho grabbed her half empty bag of chips and slapped Shikadai with it effectively waking him up. They all just stared at Naruto and Sasuke who was yet to speak. Boruto being Boruto was the first to speak.

"Well, well, well, you managed to drag the old man out of his chair." Boruto said with an eye roll. We would never admit it but he's glad his old man was here to see him off.

"Well I came to wish you off and also give a description of what the trip is. Sasuke here doesn't really give good explanations or reasons when it comes to going on trips outside the village." Naruto said with a smirk while hinting at when Sasuke had left the village.

Sasuke glared at him, "Shut up dobe."

"Make me almighty Uchiha!" Naruto snorted back.

"At least my clan is known."

"At least I have two arms!"

"Why you little-"

They glared at each other and the genin in front of them could swear they could see the sparks flying. A tick mark appeared on Sadara's head as she watched the two rivals glare at each other. She had quite the temper per her mom.

"ARE YOU TWO GONNA STAND THERE OR ARE YOU GUYS GONNA TELL US WHAT WE ARE DOING?" the young Uchiha yelled. Naruto and Sasuke swore they just saw Sakura in Sadara's eyes and they were probably right.

"Yeah, yeah my bad." Naruto said sheepishly while Sasuke also apologized.

"I'm sorry guys but i'll go ahead and explain the best I can. This is not going to be a regular trip. Boruto you might know what kind of trip it is but then again Naruto is your dad so maybe not." Sasuke said while smirking at Naruto who just glared back, "Anyways, we are taking a trip to the past. When I say the past I mean back to when me and Naruto were kids. Boruto brought up the possibility of time travel with a Rinnegan, which I happen to have. At first when he mentioned it I had no idea it was possible but the day after I tried it and it works. All of your parents have consented and we also have written permission to do this. Any questions?" Sasuke finished waiting for their response.

Shikadai was the first to speak, "How can you time travel with an eye?"

"Well with the Rinnegan you can travel through different dimensions and can even create one. The Sharingan can almost do the same thing when creating a genjutsu. Basically the Sharingan can make a custom realm for genjutsu and the Rinnegan, the final evolution of a Sharingan, can travel to those realms. Theoretically speaking, the past and future is a realm of its own." Sasuke answered. The kids look dumbfounded. They had no idea what they were about to see.

ChoCho asked a question next, "So like, we are going back in time when the world was more dangerous and just about no one was at peace?" Sasuke didn't say anything he just nodded.

Boruto was shocked, hurt, and excited all at one time. He was shocked that time travel was even possible. He was hurt that his own dad is allowing him to go back to a dangerous time. He was also excited because he would get to meet his dad and see if all the stories were about him saving the world. "Plus I might be able to prove I can hold my ground in a dangerous place." the blonde genin thought to himself.

Sadara was about to speak up and ask why when Naruto looked at his son and said, "I know you guys might be having lots of emotions right now, but just know me, Sasuke, and all of your parents are letting you do this because we have faith in you guys. We know you guys will do just fine. The only reason we are doing this is to see if you can. The other Kage think this generation is a bunch of softies, and I KNOW that is not what you guys are. Prove me and your parents right and prove the other Kage wrong."

The genin looked determined and serious, they were ready to go back to the past and see what it was like.

They. Were. Ready.

Naruto and Sasuke smiled and nodded at each other before giving directions.

"Everyone get into a circle and hold hands, I can send myself to the past along with any living thing touching me. If you all hold hands and then hold mine we will be able to go there. Just a heads up, i've never sent so many people anywhere with my Sharingan let alone my Rinnegan so i might take a lot of chakra out of me." Sasuke stated.

The kids started to get in their respective positions but before Boruto could reach his spot Naruto grabbed him and pulled him into a hug.

"I know i'm not always the best when it comes to being there for you and hima. I hope when you go back you'll see why." Naruto said while trying not to cry. His past wasn't something to be happy about, especially his younger years.

Boruto was shocked but gave his dad the biggest hug he could offer, "I know we don't argue a lot but i'll try my best to keep an open mind dad." Boruto replied. Naruto smiled, he missed moments like this with his son. He pulled away and motioned for him to go join the rest of the group.

"Everyone ready?" Sasuke asked while building up chakra. Seeing everyone nod their heads, he then yelled, "Amenotejikara!"

A bright white and purple light could be seen from miles away. The ray of light shined up into the sky as far as the eye can see and then disappeared, along with everyone in that circle.

Naruto sadly smiled at the spot where the kids once were before making his way back to the village. He had a long day ahead of explaining what the hell people just saw.

6:30am, 15 years ago, Training Ground 8

The sun was starting to rise in the Hidden Leaf Village but before the sun's light shown, a beam was in the sky. As quick as it appeared, it also disappeared. No one seemed to notice and the few shinobi who took notice thought it was lightning.

The seven of eight bodies that were just beamed into the past were slumped. Their heads were spinning and aching all the while Sasuke was completely un phased and checking out the surroundings. Seeing the coast was clear he helped or tried to help the kids up. Kinda awkward to do with one arm.

About an hour has passed since they've been teleported. The sun is now shining and the fresh ninja were starting to stir. They all sat up and looked around. It looked like the same place where they were originally but this place had a few more trees and the grass was slightly taller.

"About time you guys were up. I thought I was gonna have to pour water on you guys." Sasuke paused for a second, "Welcome to the past. I don't quite think I had enough Chakra to send us back further to when me and Naruto were yalls age. If I remember correctly this is the around the time Akatsuki started going after the failed beast." Sasuke said to the group.

"My head hurts dad." Sadara said while holding her head. Sasuke looked at her and then the other kids who were all grimacing in pain.

"Here eat some food pills. They will help the pain somewhat. I kinda forgot you guys aren't used to it like I am." Sasuke said handing the kids a bag of food pills. They each took two of the pills and handed the bag back to Sasuke.

"So what now?" Mitsuki asked while the others looked up at Sasuke, wondering the same thing.

Sasuke paused, looked at the kids, then looked up at the stone faces of the past Hokage.

"Lord Hashirama, Lord Tobirama, Lord Third, Lord Fourth, Lady Tsunade. If I had to guess this would be before they extracted the one tails from the kazekage." Sasuke thought before turning back to the kids.

"Now we find the Hokage."
