Chapter 5:Learning Their Fate
Insiide altas command right now inside the mail room of the facility right now. Several po box along with letters lined the entrie room. As their were pneumatic tubes their with some letters strewened about. But they were doing one thing earning a small break to themsleves right now questioing the wierd things that have been happening lately
"Is it me or have you seen alot of new guys lately"the atlas grunt asked
"Yeah because its strange how we have restricted access in some places we never had our access resitcted for"the female soldier mentioned as they sported a pair of brown rabbit ears on their head
"True….though god i'm slogged after yesterday. Can you believe we just have a ton of grimm just waitng to attack us"the male soilder replied
"Yeah though…that storm going to be hitting soon"the female soldier replied before sitting down on a box rubbing her neck for a moment. Though as she did the sound of clanging could be heard as they looked up at the tubes
They stared at them seeing several things moving around in them right now confusing them right now. Before they stared at the exit as being put at the exit right now was weiss who sat up gasping panting for air as she growled
"Who ever pushed that button is dead! Dead i tell you!"weiss shotued as her tail extneded. Then she looked over going wide eyed seeing the two soldiers who were just minding their busy right now. As the first soldier stared at a nearby holographic sigh that being a wanted poster saying excute execute on site with her face on it
Slowly the soldier reached for their sidearm to incaptiate her for questioning. Though soon enough one of the tubes buldged as it was smashed open. As falling to the ground hard right now was slash who in his prowler form freaking out panting several times as he did not like riding in that thing
"I'm not in the tube..nope…nope…i…"he paused as his tail was mid sway as he stared at the two soldiers. Immedialty one tried to shoot him but he dashed foward tearing the rifle out of their hands. Then he coiled around him beginning to try and choke him out as the rabbit faunus soldier reached for her rifle
"Oh crap…crap…crap"she said but weiss quickly summoned a glyph hurling a gust of wind at her forcing her into a pipe. The rabbit faunus hit hard groaning as she fell down to the ground falling unconscious. As zane succesfully choked out his opponent as they fell to the ground unconscious
Soon enough the others followed with ruby emerging from the one wiess was in panting in relief to be out. Then she looked to see weiss offering her a hand as she helped her out. Next came razma who hoped out with a smile on her face on what just happened
'That was awesome….it felt like a slide that shot you through like a rollar coaster"razma said as blake emerged from the tube with her long hair covering her face as she moved it back sighing as she stepped out dusting herself off
'Well that was uh fun…hey wheres everyone else?"blake asked before glanging could be heard before shooting out the destory one was yumi who landed on the ground with an oof as she groaned picking herself up just in time to avoid something
That being nora who fell onto the ground with a smile on her face shaking her head off
"I wanna do that again…it was so much fun"nora cheered in joy right now as it soon followed with may. Who landed on her two feet as she stepped out with grinch quickly grabbing the ledge before sighing in relief. But the sound of screaming could be heard as he looked up to be met by two feet
As velvet two feet slammed straight into his face sending him to the dirt. The man landed on the ground with a loud thud along with velvet landing ontop of his chest as he groaned heavily from the impact feeling like she broke two of his ribs
"Ohhh i think the rabbit with her…uhhh…"he paused on the words as velvet stared at him because if he said it she'll break his nose.
"Yeah buddy don't say that around a lady"yumi said as velvet huffed with puffed up cheeks getting off the soidler. But as she did he immedialty was hoisted to his feet by a very anger and pissed off hybrid
"Grinch you fricking asshole…you forced me into a tube…that was small…i hate small spaces"he said shaking him as the man sighed removing his hands off him
"Sorry kid only way to make you go through. Besides it worked where back in home base"grinch said as that was a pulse side. Though suddenly nora felt her ear getting tug at right now
"Ow…ow…ow! Weiss why are you tugging on my ear?"nora aksed very confused right now on what was happening
"You shot me down a stupid tube! I almost had a heart attack from your little stunt"weiss scolded but this time it wasn't the ginger someone else
"Hey i didn't do it blame yumi"nora said as the heiress stared at the panda faunus who nervously laughed as she glared at her with her tail thrashing all over the place right now
"It was a accident i swear…i was hooking up to the code and i pressed launch thinking it meant boot up. Friends?"yumi asked with a hand shake being offered but weiss tug at her panda ear making her yelp
"Their now were friends…though where do we go now?"weiss asked as penny activated pina with a hologram of the entire facility being dispalyed from her eyes right now
"We need to head down the main access way along with that we should take the elevator up to the command center. Once we are their we have a straight shot to the main computer center"penny said as she blinked deactiivng it
"Good though we gotta keep an eye out for anyone we can trust. More importantly peggy and her sqauadmates. All of them were loyal to shu and hold a high respect for him."grinch mentioned though the doorknob could be heard turning as they stared at it
As they waited for it to be opened soon enough blake snatched whoever it was. As she slammed them onto the ground as they all pointed their weapons at them
"Alright buddie lets…wait a minute marco?"Zane said on the ground right now was marco the mechanic who looked at them surprised as blake let him up as razma closed the door with marco sighing in relief
"Oh man…you all made it out of the academy i was worried when the commander gave the order"marco said in relief
"Yeah but what are you doing here…i thought artemis called back all her spartans"weiss questioned confused
"I'm technically the base on sight technician. I had to come back here or i would be in trouble though. You all here looking for the general and the others?"marco asked as they stared at him
"You know where they are?"ruby asked excited as he sighed rubbing his head
"Well uh i saw them all in the elevator heading up to his office. But um…well i saw their eyes looking all messed up. Some of the staff here aren't even questioning it right now. I think we might have fakes in our midst"marco said as they figured as much
"Kinda obvious though any eyes on will or merlot"grinch questioned as the man actually thought for a moment snapping his fingers
"Actually uh most of RND got the day off to work on something special to deal with the grimm. Though i saw will being escorted to his lab that him, carmine and merlot has on this level. Hes actually their now i was sent here to grab some supplies from the morgue"marco said as they all went wide eyed with velvet smiling hearing her father was still alive
"My dad still alive..i..i…um…but we might not be able to save him..we need to get amity"velvet said with an upset look as her ears drooped. Seeing this right now zane glanced at the nearby soldiers having an idea right now
"Well…maybe we can split up. I mean we got the employee uniforms over their anyone matching rabbits ears over their"Zane asked as they stared at the unifroms with them all agreeing on that
Quickly they all began to think who could wear them as they settled on grinch and velvet. As the two them got some privacy slightly with them quickly changing into the uniforms provided to them. Grinch looked like a typical guard in the faicltiy placing his normal clothes into his pack
While velvet had changed into a military unifrom finding it strange. Although it didn't help as it bothered her chest right now as it felt very tight in the chest along with her rear end. As she groaned messing with the uniform slightly
"Why is this one so small…it feels awkward in places it shouldn't"Velvet commented as razma smiled
"Awww but you look cute in that…i'll salute you anytime corporal bunny"razma teased making her go flush under the helmet. As zane chuckled finding that amusing as he picked up the rifle handing her it as she wasn't used to this sort of thing
"Marco can you carry her camera she'll be spotted far easily with it out"Zane asked as he nodded opening his tool box gently placing her camera inside it hiding it
"Alright lets get moving my semblance won't be able to cover us for long. Though how far is the morgue?"may asked as marco thought for a moment
"Just across the hall since where close to medical. Come on we don't have long before they come back."marco said as they all agreed on that. They tied up the two soldiers who were now in their undies. As they exited the hallway seeing it was clear as they saw the door across from them being labled"mourge"
"Come on quickly"grinch said as they hustled into the opposite room quickly opening the door. As grinch closed the door behind them they were met by something right now being the morgue. Their were dissection tables all over the place to prep and prepare any bodies that were needed to be process right now. But their was also medical and surgical equipment all over the place right now
Their was also moruge freezers their to keep the bodies fresh before someone arrived. Though their were also a few body bags out in the room all zipped up. But blake shivered rubbing her arms for a moment
"God its cold in here"blake commented
"Well this is where we store bodies of course it'll be cold but uh….that one new""marco said gesturing to something. They all looked at a nearby table right now with someone they were surprised to see on a table right now. Jacque gele as his bodie was sprawled out on the table
Blake gasped at the sheer sight of him as razma jaw dropped seeing him dead right now. Along with penny covering her face as velvet went wide eyed with zane not even believing it right now. For weiss she looked at the man who tortured her entire life along with killing her grandfather. As she scoffed
"Seems they killed him….good riddnaces"weiss coldly said matching the interior of the room right now
Grinch laughed"dam i wonder what he said to piss them off. Though…."he puased staring at his neck for a moment. Moving his shirt around for a moment he noticed several deep green looking veins that looked to be where his blood vessels where
"Seems someone posioned him their are a bunch of green stuff here. Along with…huh a snake bite"grinch theorized with velvet walking over examining it for a moment
'Wait a minute this is adder….i…guess he got his wish. He got to kill jacque schnee"velvet said as weiss couldn't help but feel happy for him right now
"Well then good for him…it might make it easier to try and have him join out side. Since is forced into this"weiss said as that was a big if right now.
"Maybe though grab the part or whatever you need"yumi said as marco began searching around for a small tank of liquid nitrogen for something. But as he did ruby glanced around the place feeling very cold right now from the air in here. As she looked around for something to warm herself up right now.
But eventually her eyes caught something that made her flinch right now. That being harbinger in its broadsword form as she gasped covering her mouth
"Whats up? You find…something"Razma said going silent right now seeing harbinger their on the table right now. They were all stunned to see that their right now. But may glanced at a nearby table seeing someone their as she covered her mouth
"Oh my god…no…oh…oh no"may said getting their attention right now on something. They all flinched to see someone bodie on a table right now…qrow branwhen lifeless bodie on the table
"Oh…oh my god..its…its qrow i…i…"grinch paused in complete shock right now seeing him dead. Ruby stared at the table slowly apporaching it with penny doing a quick scan on his bodie for a moment but it showed how long hes been dead along with a flatine as she couldn't find a pulse
"I..i can't find a pulse…i..hes been dead since yesterday"penny said shocked
But with ruby her body was shaking from the cold. As she looked down at the table seeing her father dead on the table. Qrow was still smiling depsite being dead as anger was starting to build up in her blood right now. Memeories of the two of them started to flash in her mind as she began to pant heavily. But soon enough she cracked before throwing herself ontop of him pounding her fist on his boide
"You can't be dead..no…no you can't be dead…wake up…please wake up…dad…please wake up…please!"ruby cried aloud right now as the room muffle her loud crying right now. Weiss walked over taking her into her arms holding her not wanting to let her go right now
"Ruby god…i'm so sorry…i'm so sorry….i'm sorry"weiss cried for her leader as blake walked over joining them trying to comfort her leader who was crying her eyes out right now for her father. Marco soon grabbed a can of liquid nitrogen as he sighed rubbing his face
"Ummm uh…grinch…and uh rabbit girl come on…their expecting me in his lab""grinch said as they slowly nodded as velvet tried to stay but zane gestured for her to go
"We got her…god i…we are not telling summer about this"zane said as they all stayed silent for a moment as may sighed
"Your not wrong…we'll try to calm her down."may said as the three nodded leaving them. As ruby buried her face into weiss chest quietly crying right now seeing that her father was dead. This was a mistake to come here now.
Elsewhere in the kingdom right now was hairett and her group they were just finishing up traveling up to the surface. They took a service access elevator that she had some access to still. Her crenditlas where still available to their luck. As they reached the top fiona sighed in relief as she walked out but noticed something strange
"Hey where is everyone?"fiona mentioned
All of them looked out seeing how barren the streets where right now. It confused them but hairett glanced around thinking of one possibility right now for the lack of people on the streets
"My guess everyone up here is in the shelters that we have incase grimm attack"hairett mentioned
"Well seems atlas gets all the fancy little thing on their floating city"mercury joked to lighten up the mood which made paddy give a chuckle
"You know i really needed to hear that right now. Although i wonder how the other wee las and lads are doing"paddy said as they began to walk. With pyrrha looking down upset which zephyra took notice of
"Let me guess your worried for your teammates right now nikos"Zephyra asked as she nodded
Perun sighed"you aint the only one though man rogue seems pissed"he added

"Well rogue hates it when people lie to her. But….i can admit i'm a little mad to hear that he knew that long who killed weaver sister. Although i assume he had a good reason"pyrrha paused before staring at hariett for a moment

This made hariett stay silent for a long pause right now as she thought on what to tell her. Slowly but surely the women sighed as she rubbed the back of her neck as they walked through the barren streets
"I do….seriously when that cat faunus told me who i was forced to hang. God i…i helped create a terrorist. I ruined a little boy life turning him into a monster. For god sake i was a babysitter before all of this"hairett said becoming emotional right now as the stress was getting to her
The stress of hearing that she killed soemone which created a terroist that caused harm to so many innocent people. Along with that she now lost people she considered family. Her and the other ace operative have been through so much at this point it was like they were family already. It painted her to see them having to commit such attoricities while they weren't in control of their own bodies. It made her fight the urge to just lay down and cry her eyes out wishing it was a dream. But it wasn;t

"Don't talk about just letting yourself be killed by them. I…they wouldn't do that i know it hurts to realize you were the cataltyz for something like that. But right now we need to work together to save atlas…to save everyone here including all of ace ops. You all…showed me kindness despite my appearance. Thank"pyrrha said wisley
They stayed silent letting the two have their moment before they released as hariett really appreciated that right now

"Alright miss i got bite by a little kid everyday for a year straight. Wags had much better luck than kid than you. Even elm…your the best babysitter"paddy said trying to lighten up the mood which it did right now as they cotninued on their way to carmine house
They kept walking for a while until they got to her house but noticed something. That being the front door was busted open along with a window being smashed open like someone wanted to get inside which they all noticed as mercury took point
"Alright guess we got badguys inside here….you think they got to the equipment we need to use for the syringes"mercury asked
"I don't know lets hope not. I'll stay out to provide covering fire if need be"paddy said

They all nodded as they made their way inside the researcher house. Once they did they examined the damages right now seeing furniture tossed over along with pictures smashed up. It looked like someone tried to rob the place or they were looking for something. As zephyra walked over examining a small box that just had remnants of some jewlery in it
"You think talon company was here?"zephyra questioned quietly
"I don't know le–"hairett paused as the creaking of a floorboard could be heard above them. All of them looked at each other as mercury motioned to head upstairs.
They all drew their weapons slowly making their way up the stiars making sure not to even make a peep. As they made their way of the stairs hairett led the charge right now as she slowly made her way up the stairs to find whoever was here right now. As she slowly made her way to the second floor she saw that the lab was open as she heard voices coming from inside their
"Hurry up they said they would be here lets just find what their looking for"A female voice siad
"What exactly are we looking for right now"A male voice replied
"My guess the syringes the doc made lets hops the doc back at the house can synthetize a copy of them if they captured her"another female voice said sounding familiar to zephyra for a moment
"Wait a minute why does that voice sound familiar?"zephyra thought
They reached the door of the room as the door slowly opened catching hariett offguard. Reaching forward she grabbed who ever it was kneeing them in the gut. Then she threw them to the ground twisting their arm behind their back
"Whoever you are you picked a bad time to rob the doc"hariett said before the person she threw on the ground spoke up
"Owwww i thought you were cool…dang it let me go bree"the would be robber said as they all looked down to see it was holly wilkins their with a shotgun stapped to her back. Looking into the room they looked surprised to see the hine parents along with zephyra smiled rushing over hugging her parents as her tail swayed around
"Mom! Dad! Your okay"zephyra cried in joy as the two of them returned the loving embrace ten fold to their daughter right now
"Oh sweetie i was so worried sick i'm so glad we ran into your friends back in mantle"mindy said to their surprise
"The others told you were we went?"mercury asked
"Yes that rose girl told us to meet you here. She suggested that you move the equipment to the manor ground since we have plenty of space and emergency generators. Along with the necessary medical suppiles needed for these syringe"natashai replied
"Well we uh….actually thats not a bad idea."hairett said releasing holly who dusted herself off before elbowing hariett in the side making her wince slightly from that hit
"Thats for throwing me to the ground. Though….is robyn with you guys?"holly questioned
"No we haven't seen my mom left i kinda hoped that she would be with you guys."fiona replied
"No…but we are looking for whatever this machine is your looking for along with these syringes."samir replied
Though hairett stared the machinery in the room pointing at it as she chuckled ever so slightly
"That over their is the machine its gonna be hard to carry by yourselves. But that why we brought sheep girl over here"hairett siad.
Fiona walked over acitivng her semblance for the machinery but they unplugged it first. Before she used her semblance to place them into a pocket dimension. But as she did she groaned slightly because larger objects make her feel a little more sluggish from it
"You okay?"pyrrha asked concerned
"I'm good…though how are the manor ground?"fiona asked
"Were safe for now they haven't come near the place. Except for shutting down all our airships and putting a squadron of guards and fighters around them. But we gotta get back before anothe rbot patrol comes through of those creepy guys in purple we saw roaming around"holly mentioned making mercury silently curse
"Unseen eye…which means selket callows isn't far behind. Dammit rogue and eria might be in trouble"mercury replied
"Right the psycho who wants to kill your girlfiend and her sister. Though since your with us wanna take a lift back to the manor. "Holly asked as they thought for a moment. Hairett got her communicator out calling up artemis
"Artemis do you read me?"hairett said before she came through
"Artemis here did you secure the jammers along with the equipment"artemis said on her scroll
"We did and we made eyes on the hines along with holly wilkins. Their hold up in the schnee manor…were dropping off the mahicnery their. It may have the necessary equipment we need to make more batches for the syringes"hairett siad before their was a pause
"Roger. That will work bring it their and then make sure to come back. Were doing well on evacuating mantle but still no word from the infiltration team."artemis said disocnnecting their call
"Infirltration team who the heck volunteered for that?"holly aksed
"Heres a hint people who got a deathwish. Though i wound't blame em…come on lets get out of here and head back to the house"perun stated
"Not all of us…i can sped over their but we need all the help we can get down in mantle. I'll take pliot boy…sheep girl and nikos"hairett siad surprising pyrrha

"I don't know call it a hunch but that hideout might get spotted soon with so many of us leaving it. Come on"hairett said as they came outside as falk and paddy looked surprised with falk sighing in relief
"You guys are okay…hows willow and whitley?"falk asked
"Their fine though buckle up because your gonna be riding to the manor in style"holly wanted before suddenly hariett grabbed him before speeding off to the manor with her semblance. She came back in three minutes before repeating the process with fiona then she came back panting about to grab natashia who stopped her
"I can get myself their"natashia said before planting her feet on the ground as she grabbed holly and mindy hand. Then she started to activate her semblance which was a speed semblance but she shot off in a blur as they looked at her right now. She seemed to run lighting fast with flames coming off her bodie from intense heat.
"Well thats a heck of a semblance she got hot feet"perun said making some laugh at that
"Nice one though…your up you two grab my hands"hairett said as pyrrha and samir did before they sped off to the manor grounds. As the others returned to the others to regroup down below wondering if everyone else is okay. It took them a bit of time as hairett sped through avoiding the patrols in the area thankfully cutting their time down in half for walking
Before long she got to the schnee manor as it looked very different. In the front of the manor seeing it having barbwired on the front gate. Along with that some armed hunters their with even some staff armed to the teeth. Once they approached the gate it opened as they welcomed them inside the home.
"Well…weiss is going to find this strange"pyrrha commented approaching the manor doors as falk was their losing his breakfast from that speedy trip. With fiona their walking to the door knocking on it a few times before it soon opened to reveal someone klein. As the man looked at them smiling
"It seems we have guest sorry for the mess were in the middle of a war. Come in"klein said welcoming them into the manor for a safe havan right now.
Back with the others in atlas right now they managed to finally calm ruby down right now. But she had a straight face right now as she was forcing herself to smile. As they all could tell it with blake reassuring her everything will be alright
"Well be okay ruby…look i know your in pain right now. But we'll come back for him okay we'll bury him."blake said as she sniffed rubbing her silver eyes for a moment
"Okay….but…never mind"ruby said looking down upset which made them worried. But may peeked into the hallway right now seeing the coast was clear.
"Okay time to go to the elevator. Come on kiddios"may said as they did but as they did zane eyed harbingrer in stand by mode. Walking over he easily grabbed it placed it on the magnetic clip near nightshade. Once he walked out they noticed him carrying it
"They aint keeping his weapon as a trophy…whoever did this will get whats coming to them. Salem especially because well…if anyone gonna kill the witch. Guess it'll be me maybe i'll just bless everyone weapon to get some much needed payback for those we lost"he said smacking his fist taking cheering ruby up a little hearing that
They moved down the hall as may semblance cloaked them through the halls. They made sure not to make any sudden movements or noise right now as they made their way to the elevator just in time. As some soldiers were stepping off of it as they boared it
Quickly penny inserted her fingertip into the panel before inserting her father crendtials in the elevator. Once done it accepted them as they made their way up to the command center.
But elsewhere in the facility watching the entire facility was scar watts along with dorian who finished dropping will off in the research lab. By their side was adder examining his kohpesh sword along with baker organizing the troops of a radio.
"Keep a low profile along with that make sure no one is using outside radio to contact others. We need to make sure all of atlas is in the dark for what were doing"baker said into his radio as some voice came through saying they'll do that
But as they sat their soon enough a screen blinked to life which scar noticed. Then he stared at it for a moment seeing peitro polidina credentials in use as he smiled seeing that right now because someone was here
"Well lookie here we have some guest in our base. Seems that pietro is on sight or…his daughter"scar said getting dorians attention as he looked on one side of the room where lamia was as she was busy mediating right now and focused all her attention on controlling her puppets.
"Lamie dear please send your puppets to the server room soon. I expect our guest here will be accessing the control for amity"dorian ordered as she nodded sending the ace ops off to complete their task. Then dorian pressed a button
As the group walked through the halls soon enough a broadcast came that went through the whole facility
"Everyone please be advised we have a security level threat dectected in the compound. Status alert level 3 red. Lockdown is initiated. Authorization to use lethal force on threats."dorian said as they all saw the light turn red in the hall with a siren starting to blair through the halls
"Oh come on!"razma said annoyed
Penny then saw pina appear"miss polidina they disabled the pneumatic tubes were trapped"pina said before dispeparing
"Crap…i can hijack a manta so we can get off this flaoitng rock"may said about to run but zane stopped her
"Hold on head to where velvet and grinch are along with marco. Make sure to find them then head for the valkrities barracks. Their close to RND. if we need a ride out of here their our guys"zane said as she heisated but paused deicidng to help them out
Quickly they saw the command center with several people their as yumi smirked. She quickly tap her scroll as something happened. Suddenl the sprinkles went off in the office place covering all their workstation as they all tired to save their precious documents or assignments
"No i spent all night working on this! I blame bill for this!"a office worker said
"I didn't do this quit blaming me!"a man named bill spat
"You put salmon in the microwave with a fork and blew it up!"a officer worked argued as they got into it. As ruby quickly used her semblance to get nora, blake, weiss, zane and yumi into the room. Razma used her semblance sneaking her way over as may ran off to find the others.
Once they got in ruby shook her head not finding that feeling fun everysince she did it
"I hate doing that"ruby said
They were in a large walkway with a cavernous and deserted chamber. As they walked to a heavily eletrctied door. Penny walked over interfacing with the control panel decativing it as she walked in with the others. They were in a selcued room with terminals inside as the one they needed sits in the back wall.
"This place is pretty empty"razma commented
"Its a highly classfieid area…come on lets go"penny said as they made their way inside the door eltricfied itself again. They stare at it as zane walked over placing harbinger on a table as penny sit in a office chair at ironwood terminals.
"Umm so….what now?"weiss asked
"Well my dad will need to take over…funny since he can do that"penny said as they made a mentally note of that. Soon enough pietro took over as penny hands moved on her own as another orb appeared replacing pina
"This will take a bit of time but let me work my magic. please assist me"pietro said as yumi pulled her laptop out plugging it in beginning to get to work on booting up amity arena right now. While she did ruby took a chair as she balled up still processing on who she saw dead
Which weiss noticed as she grabbed a chair pulling it up beside her with a worried look
"Ruby it'll be okay…were here for you"Weiss reassured
