Chapter 13: A bird flew her cage
Right now in the manor everyone was brimming in joy right now. With nora cheering loudly hugging ruby right now in joy
"Our broadcast went through…it went through!"she cheered but ruby gasped for air in her lungs
"Can't breath…need…air…in my lungs…please"ruby begged as she released her nerovusly laughing with a smile.
"Dude this is awesome…i mean did the broadcast go through to the other kingdoms. I…did everyone else see it"razma asked before suddenly hairett scroll started to buzz like crazy as she pulled it up seeing it was artemis
"Its…artemis"hairett said
"Then answer it and see if she got some good news"mercury said as she did with artemis laughing in joy on the other end
"Well…it seems that our plan worked right now. Because right now we have great news right now guess who just called me"artemis said confusing them
"What are you talking about cherry?"carmine asked before she revealed some great news
"Right now i just got broadcast from the atlas carriers. I have them asking for orders and well tomorrow were going to evacuate all of atlas and mantle. We even intercepted chatter from soilders in base. Their rioting against talon"artemis said as they all stayed silent before rogue screamed at the top of her lungs

Immediately yang grabbed a sleeping bag unrolling it out infront of the fire unzipping it laying it out like a futon to their confusion

"A trick i learned staying in camp. We can have two of us take watch just incase and switch every four hours. "Yang said before unzipping another one putting it over the second sleeping bag like a blanket. She did this with another one
"Five of us get some sleep. Then we rotate this one is the girls bag you two share your own"yang said pointing at the two boys with jaune and cardin staring at each other
"You better not be into cuddling jauney boy"cardin warned
"No thats her"jaune said pointing at the wolf who was now cherry red in the face as her tail wouldn't stop wagging with bonnet grinning at her

'I'm taking first watch. I am not being teased anymore….this is your form of revenge for me being a prick early"onxyia said as it might be. Qucikly maris, bonnet and lazuli took one sleeping bag. As cardin and jaune took the other with yang and onxyia taking first watch for the night

But right now in monstra in her throne room was salem who saw the broadcast not bothered by it in the slightest. Except for some of the comments directed to her as selket was growling in rage on what that little traditor called her

"Mrs parker… …dracona why did you and our fail maiden leave"salem said as walking into monstra right now was adder, betty, dracona who was carrying bonnie who was knocked unconcious. Rosemary giggled at the four

They expected salem to be mad right now but the women had a smile on her face hearing this. She now knows the idneity of all four maidens as she turned to them with a proud look

"But my queen dorian has contacted us the military is rioting in the faciltiy. Their going to form a attack against us"hazel said but she didn't see that as a obstacle

Two figures cloakd in blake as their hoods obscured their faces with two red crimson eyes glowing under their hoods. One seemed to be female while the other was male who had his arms crossed. As both of them kneeled once her gaze was on them

"I want to hear his screams. I know lucifer is watching i want his kin to suffer while ozma listens"salem added

But adder looked conflicted because he can't stand seeing someone getting tortured that long. Though hazel seems to find that unsettling as he decided to go and make sure they don't kill him

Inside atlas command right now robyn and the others were watching the screen near the door to the cells exit. As they couldn't even believe what they saw as marrow just cheered with a wagging tail
"They did it! This is awesome that means we can take back our base"marrow cheered in joy
Elm laughed whipping a tear away"your right but dam…the kid just messed with that women again. Shes going to be pissed off"elm said as vine gave a small chuckle as he crossed his legs togehter

"Then i'm not sitting down and letting some bug control me again. If we need to lets punch our way out of here"elm said as the others agreed. Vine got ready for a attack coming their way with clover crossing his arms preparing for whoever to come through that door
While they waited for what felt like forever they didn't come which confused them right now

"That is strange th–"merlot was stopped mid sentence as the hardlight walls shut off on their cells. Before they could question it the door was opened as something was tossed inside the room. That being a flashbang which robyn noticed

Marrow was lucky as he didn't have it because he was busy stomping on the one trying to take him. He gave one more big stomp killing the creature as he panted
"Screw you! I aint some puppet"marrow said in rage but baker laughed as he brandished a pistol loaded with anti aura shots
"Oh well then i'll just have to put one of these in your leg. Lamia can make another though…'baker paused before aiming the pistol at robyn who stared him down because she was to be executed

"Coward till the end i see. Although…..you didn't account for something right now"robyn said which confused him as lamia stood up finishing off clover who was holding his head trying to fight back for control as the purple veins slowly covered his eyes
"And that would be what?"lamia asked before from the nearby hallway gunfire came from the entrance. As it hit one of the talon soldiers in the head killing them as in the hallway as a couple atlas soldiers who pointed their weapons at the giest hybrid
"Kill her to free the general!"the soldier shouted firing at her but lamia ducked avoiding the gufnrie. As she lunged forward driving a kunai into their throat. With the second raising their assault rifle to shoot her. But she quickly snapped their neck in a swift motion
But suddenly more gunfire came at her from another group of soldiers making her growl as she sprinted foward trying to kill them all right now. Baker scoffed as he shook his head
"Dam grunts…well time to–"baker was stopped as robyn rushed over punching him in the nuts. This made baker cry in pain for his berries as he kentl on the ground clutching them. Then she shared a look with marrow who still had an aura collar on.
"Come on wags we gotta move! You too doc"robyn said
"But what about the others we can free them we…"marrow was stopped before he felt someone grab him. He looked going wide eyed seeing it was elm struggling right now for control. The large women shoved all three of them out of the room shaking before cracking a small smile
"Don't…worrie about us amin…get out of here…regroup with bree. You know how to stop it…run"elm said as he heisated as she slammed her hand on the door control closing it as she screamed in pain on the other side. They stood their for a moment as marrow clenched his fist
"Come on lets get out of here. The hangers should be close"marrow said
"Bad idea everyone will be in their…lets go for the escapes pods. They go right into the upper city maybe if were lucky we can regroup at williow place. Then wait for the others"Robyn replied as he nodded agreeing with her
"Then we have little time to sit down and wait. Lets go"merlot said as they moved through the base to escape the place
While they ran through the entire facility it was in pure chaos right now. As atlas soldiers now knew the truth on whats going on in their chain of command. With them fighting back against the spies within their midst. But alot of them were trying to escape the base to regroup with the remainder of their army to fight back against salem
Though their were those whp were either dead or fighting for their lives. They passed through the halls that was littered with soldiers that were shot up or stabbed with some having swords buried into their chest as robyn eyed them
"Dam guess we gotta get out of here before we end up like them"Robyn siad as she ran
"Yes although….i think we need to make a quick stop right here"marrow said skitting to a stop staring at something. That being a small office space that had a checkout window that had bulletproof glass on it. But the door was opened with a dead guard leaning against it. As the wolf knew what might be kept here
Marrow quickly walked inside to their confusion"Wags we do not have time to go shopping. That grimm knight might find us or the others will"robyn said with worry
"Yes what do you need from here?"merlot said as he quickly returned with something is assault rifle along with robyn weapon as he smiled
"Well i mean if we gotta fight our way out of here. I'd like my favorite weapon…along with councilwomen hill having hers"marrow said with a cocky grin
The councilwomen stared at him smiling taking her wristmounted crossbow strapping it on quickly before grabbing a pistol off the dead guard
"Your so considerate wags….yo doc know how to use one of these?"robyn asked as merlot took the heavy fire arm scoffing because he hated guns
"I do though i despise firearms. But it'll do for now in our current situation. Now lets go the escape pods are near medical"merlot said as they sprinted down the halls of the command center

"Well they seem to be heading to the garage….maybe all the escape pods are gone"marrow said with worry but merlot hummed for a moment
"I don't think so. If were lucky their is an emergency one located near well old room. If it wasn't used by her we may have a chance"merlot said
"Then lets get over because uhh…i think they were running from that"robyn said pointing down the hall at something
As down the hall right now was a swarm of ak-200 with red faces right now. Along with their screen now having a black queen chess piece as it marked them as salems property now. Marrow tail sagged to the ground as he neoruvlsy laughed
"Lets get running then….and get the hell out of here"marrow said firing off a fews shots at the bots managing to clip a couple. With robyn firing a few arrows down the hall as one pierced a atlesian knights headpiece knocking it down. They began to book it down the hallway with a few of the bots pursuing them.
As they kept running down the halls for their lifes the alarms blared through the whole facility right now. With marrow wincing slightly thanks to his enhanced hearing right now. Though as they kpet running robyn suddenly stopped dead in her tracks
Which marrow noticed"hill what are you doing we aint got time for any sight seeing right now'marrow said
"Hes right come now miss hill we need to leave""merlot said
But robyn stared at what she was looking at which was the morgue. The women prayed someone was in here. She opened the door stepping inside which confused the two right now. As they walked over to the room she was in. but robyn she scanned the room for someone as luckily they were still here
Their on the table with his arms crossed still in this frozen locker was qrow. As robyn walked over with marrow staring at her going wide eyed. While robyn placed her arms under qrow lifting him up placing him over her shoulder staring at them
"He deserves a proper burial. For his wife and daughter…your not making me leave him behind"robyn stated firmly as the two soften her gaze staring at her
But marrow sighed holding the door open for her gesturing her to go. She knew that he fine with this. As she quickly carried the man lifeless body out of the room but merlot grabbed a bodybag just incase
They then sprinted down the hall before getting to the destroyed room miyuki was. But they were in luck as an open escape pod was their as marrow smiled in joy
"Yes! Theirs one here lets…."marrow paused once he got inside of the escape pod. With robyn walking in placing qrow on a medical stretcher with merlot tossing the bodybag into the pod staring at them. Because marrow noticed it could only fit two people not including the stretcher
"Wait…wait theirs only enough room for two of us"marrow said as merlot hovered his hand over the eject button
"I know….tell carmine that she was a fine students over the years. That i hope she continues her work"merlot said making them stare at him. As suddnely the doors to the pod was shut tight. Then they were propeld forward as they were shot straight out of the base in the escape pod right now. With merlot staring through the open hole infront of him smiling
Then the man turned slightly to see his fate that being lamia who stared him down. As she held out her kunai in hand as he closed his eyes accepting his fate as she lunged at him with the intent to kill
Outside the base several mantas or small troop transport were leaving the base. All of them containing atlas soldiers with a few escape pods being hurled toward the city themselves. While inside theirs marrow was banging on the doors screaming in rage
"Dammit….dammit doc! Why…why did you do that i…i…"marrow was stopped as robyn forced him into a seat. She already strapped qrow in as she helped him get strapped in
"He saved us amin. Lets not forget that if were lucky they'll keep him alive. Now strap in for a bumpy ride"robyn said making him hesitant but he sighed walking over strapping himself in. as their escape pod was hurled straight through a building crashing right into the streets of the floating city as the night sky was out right now with the morning sun slwoly rising in the distance.
Although soon enough the two gathered themselves as robyn panted undoing her straps along with marrow. As the two of them looked at the pod door pushing it open to see they were in atlas right now
"Well…were here. Now what hill?"marrow asked
Robyn looked in a certain direction more improtantly schnee manor as that was their desiantion. Quickly she eyed qrow grabbing the bodybag to show him some respect and not draw attention.
Although right now inside the manor everyone was getting up to start their day. As thanfkully aera, diaz, klein along a few others made them food with the supplies they had on hand. As all of them where awake with a few sleeping still to recover from their wounds. But they all were in the living room talking right now.
With their breakfast consisting of some scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages and bottles of coffe or water. While some ate MRES and their rations they had as ren was doing much better. He wasn't wearing the splint with courtny dusting her hands off
"Your all set kid. That leg of your healed up nicely"courtny said
"Thank you….my leader managed to use his semblance partial to heal it"ren said as that made pyrrha stare at her bottle of water for a moment
"Right jaune….we should really send a search party to find them right now"pyrrha said but rogue tapped her on the shoulder slightly
"Come on big sis. I'm sure they saw the broadcast, their probably on their way right now with oscar even"rogue said as they hoped that was true
"I hope so. Because artemis told me this morning they had a bunch of troops transports start landing down in mantle. She busy getting a defense set up against her right now with johanna and the gravekeepers help"miller mentioned
Ruby swallowed her food smiling"well that means we have the army on are side. Though last night…did anyone see a bunch of shells hit the city"she said but may shook her head
"I did but those weren't shells. I think they were escape pods from the base….maybe the soldiers used them to escape"may said
"Or it could be talon. We should get something to eat then split up into teams to cover more ground. That way we can counter attack"hariett said placing her fist in her palm with kraven nodding
"A smart move. I shall send some of my hunters down below to assist i'm sure we'll be expecting ships to be moved to the city this morning"kraven said as they all agreed on that
But as they sat their for a bit dawn layed their at the ready for anything. Although a certain scent started to invade her nostrils. The grimm pet shot up straight staring at the doors before getting up running off barking at something. This caught them offguard

With that we see robyn and marrow regrouped with the others as merlot fate remains unknown for now. But it seems that everyone is starting to regroup with each other but something may happen with salem master plan.
