Zarbon's New Playmate
Chapter Four: Planet Drigo
Hey everyone i'm back with another chapter. I hope that you guys are enjoying the story so far. I don't really have much to say here so let's get into the story!
We have landed on Planet Drigo and I am almost sad to see the journey come to an end. I actually enjoyed the trip. After getting over her little hangups, Vidalia seemed to be a lot less mouthy about spending time with me. It wasn't just time spent in my bed. There was more to it. I enjoyed her company. There is more to Vidalia than being beautiful and being a fierce fighter. She is funny and smart. She is exactly what I need to get this mission done. I don't know what things will be like once we're done here and are able to return to Planet Frost. I think I will miss this. Right now, I have to push all that aside and focus on the task at hand. There are rebels on this planet that are attempting to bite the hand that feeds them. Lord Frieza will not hesitate to destroy this planet and kill all of the people on it. He did it Planet Vegeta. He'll do it again. The little distraction that has been my time with Vidalia has been nice. I guess I will have the trip back home to look forward to.
Landing on Planet Drigo and getting settled in the palace went by in a whirlwind. The people of planet had fussed over their guests and treated them like royalty. Anything to keep ensure that they would make it through this situation with their planet intact. If Zarbon thought that the king was planning an uprising or that he knew about it and did nothing, he would most definitely destroy the planet and kill everyone that lives on it with Frieza's blessing. To say that the people of Drigo were shocked to see that Zarbon had arrived with a Saiyan would have been an understatement. It was no secret that the Saiyans were among Frieza's favored soldiers, but to see one come along with Zarbon gave them pause. Saiyans were barbaric and loved to destroy. Why was this Saiyan woman with Zarbon when he was only supposed to be here to intend a party on Frieza's behalf?
"Don't be concerned about my companion. I didn't wish to attend the party alone. What better guest to bring along than a princess as beautiful as she is? She was tired of being cooped up in the palace anyway."
That's what he had told them when they all stared at Vidalia with fear in their eyes. Her tail was dead giveaway to her Saiyan heritage, and they seemed to be anxious about a Saiyan being in their midst. That had seemed to calm their nerves. Zarbon was attempting to put their minds at ease and convince them that Vidalia was not as strong as her male counterparts. He told a story about how Vidalia was the baby sister of the Saiyan Prince and that she lived at the palace along with the other three remaining Saiyans. That she was simply a pampered and spoiled princess that was bored with constantly being stuck in the palace. Vidalia was dressed up for the part. She was wearing a floor length, sleeveless dress that had slits up both sides that went up to her thigh. Her hair was pulled up into a high ponytail and she was wearing sparkly jewelry. She hated it. She felt exposed and vulnerable. She preferred her armor and jumpsuit but being dressed this way made it easier to sell the lie.
Vidalia and Zarbon were given a room together much to Vidalia's annoyance. Once they were alone, Vidalia began to unpack her things. The plan was to get settled in and then go down to the conference room to talk with the king. Zarbon stood across the room and watched her. She had her back to him and was hanging the dresses that Kyko had packed for her up in the closet. He crossed the room and placed his hands on her exposed shoulders. He pressed his body against her and nestled his face into her neck. She smelled so good, like vanilla. "You look beautiful." He whispered.
"I feel ridiculous. I hate this so much. I'm a warrior." Vidalia replied shrugging away from him. Even though they had spent time together on the way to the planet, she was still uncomfortable being in such close proximity with Zarbon. He made her feel confused. She couldn't stand him and yet her body didn't seem to mind his touch. Her treacherous body seemed to love all the wonderful things he'd been doing to her.
"I know this isn't what you're used to, Dali darling. But just play along for a while. Just until we find the traitors. Your armor is here and just as soon as we figure out who is planning to betray Frieza, you can put it on and do what you do best."
Vidalia turned to face Zarbon. "I can't do this! I'm not a diplomat, I'm a fighter. A killer. I'm one of the ones you bring in when you know who you want dead. When you want the planet wiped out."
"You're also a royal."
Vidalia rolled her eyes. "In title only."
"True, but it's enough to demand respect. You're also smart and charming. You can talk your way out of almost anything."
"Except this little arrangement of ours."
Zarbon chuckled, "Well, you talked yourself into that, didn't you. You convinced me to not go kill your brother." Vidalia shook her head. He was not making her feel better. Zarbon let out a sigh and decided to try a different approach. "Listen, all I'm saying is that you can do this. You are intelligent and captivating. At the party you will be your outgoing and assertive self and you will have all of them eating out of the palm of your hand."
"Yeah?"
Zarbon gently gripped her chin with his thumb and finger and lifted her eyes to meet his. "Yeah. Now hold your head up, square those shoulders, and act the princess you were born to be." Vidalia nodded. Somehow, Zarbon had helped her feel better about the situation they had found themselves in. She now believed that everything was going to be okay.
A few hours later, they were summoned to join the king in his conference room. When they entered, Zarbon escorted Vidalia over to his chair. He sat down and then guided Vidalia to sit on his lap. She had a part to play, she was here as Zarbon's companion, and she was playing it well. She swung her legs across to the other side of Zarbon's legs and crossed one of her legs over the other. She then put her arm behind Zarbon's neck and snuggled into his side as he wrapped his arms around her. "Lord Zarbon," King Tomo began, "I wasn't aware that you would bringing the princess to our meeting."
"Well, I couldn't very well leave her all alone in our room, could I? I didn't get her away from her overbearing brother and bring her all this way just to have her stay cooped up as if she were back home. Is there a problem with my companion accompanying me?" Vidalia looked over at the king and gave him a little pout, being every bit of the spoiled princess that he believed her to be. "Of course not. Princess Vidalia is more than welcome." King Tomo stammered out.
Vidalia smiled sweetly and returned her attention to Zarbon. "Good," Zarbon said, "Have there been any developments in your little problem with the rebels?"
"We still have been unable to identify any of them."
"So, you have nothing? Your incompetency is astounding, Tomo. I want to remind you that Frieza does not take kindly to being threatened or betrayed by people that he has been good to."
"Lord Zarbon, I assure you that I have no part in any of the rumblings about betraying Frieza. I am very appreciative of the arrangements that we have with him. We are doing what we can to find these rebels and put an end to it."
"Well, I'm here now and I have been tasked with getting this little matter resolved. We certainly don't want Lord Frieza coming. You won't like that." King Tomo blanched at Zarbon's words. If Frieza came he may just decide to kill them all and be done with it. He could always find another planet to conquer and make the same arrangement with. The lack of new information had pissed Zarbon off. He had hoped that at the very least they could have located a member of the rebellion. Anyone that they could torture information out of. They needed to know who was leading these people. Who was stirring up the locals and making them think they could destroy Frieza? Cut off the head and the snake would die. Kill the leader and the others would give up. Vidalia could feel Zarbon tense. He was getting angry and no good would come of him losing his temper. She snuggled her face into his neck, "Calm down, Zarbon. He doesn't know anything. We have plenty of time to get this taken care of." She whispered. Zarbon squeezed her thigh in response. She was right, he knew it. They would find them and kill them. He was eager to do so.
Zarbon indicated for Vidalia to stand. He was done here. Vidalia stood as did Zarbon. He gently took her hand and placed a soft kiss on her knuckle. "Vidalia, please wait for me outside won't you and then I will escort you back to the room." She nodded and left the room. Zarbon looked to the king and said, "Tomo, I will be attending your party tomorrow evening. Princess Vidalia will be coming with me. I trust that you have beefed up your security and that no one is going to try to harm me or the princess?"
"Of course, sir."
"Good. Because I swear to you that if something does go down and something happens to me or, especially Vidalia, I will kill you myself and set this miserable planet on fire." Zarbon left the king all but shaking in his chair.
Back in the room, Zarbon was sitting in a chair in the corner of the room as Vidalia sat in front of the vanity brushing her hair. "What are you thinking?" she asked.
"Tomo is a fucking moron."
Vidalia laughed. She agreed with him. This is something that Tomo, as the king of the planet, should have already had a handle on. Zarbon looked over at Vidalia. She was just out of the shower, hair still damp, dressed in a nightgown Kyko got for her. She was stunning and Zarbon was caught up in watching her. He had threatened to murder Tomo if something were to happen to Vidalia. Why had he done that? Vidalia did not need anyone's protection and yet he felt the need to make sure Tomo had enough soldiers on hand in case they were attacked at the party. The thought that something could happen to her made him feel sick. Vidalia looked up into the mirror and their eyes met. "You okay over there?" she asked.
"I'm fine. Tired and frustrated. I honestly believed that idiot would have at least found something out about the ones trying to cause an uprising."
"Not all kings are good kings."
"Your father was. He wouldn't have allowed this nonsense in his kingdom." Vidalia froze. Why was he bringing up her father? "Do you remember your father?"
"Yeah, a little. I was a little girl back then." Vidalia replied, setting down her brush and turning to face Zarbon. "Why are we talking about my father?"
Zarbon shrugged, "Making conversation." A moment passed by in silence before Zarbon spoke again. "My father was a king. I don't really remember him. I was so young when he died." Vidalia hadn't known that about Zarbon. Of course, there wasn't much that she actually did know about him. "I remember a war and then I remember being taken away and living with King Cold. I rose through the ranks and became one of his elites and then Frieza became impressed with me and brought me on to work for him and here I am."
The room fell into silence again. Why was he telling her this? Vidalia didn't know how to precede from here. She figured he was just frustrated with the incompetence of Tomo and that he just had a lot on him. Zarbon came here to do a job for his master, and he wanted it to get done as quickly as possible. He knew the price he'd have to pay if he didn't. Vidalia didn't want to push him any further. She wanted this job over quickly as well. She wanted to get back home and to go back to doing what she does best. "It's been a long trip and an even longer day. We have another long day tomorrow. I think that we should go to bed." Vidalia stood and got into bed.
Zarbon stood up and walked over to the bed. He looked down at Vidalia. Why had he said all those things to her? Why had he asked her about her father? He has been spending too much time around her. He needed space. It was too late to ask for another room. He looked over to the couch across the room. That would have to do. Zarbon picked up one of the pillows from the bed, he grabbed a blanket, and went to settle down on the couch. "You don't want to sleep in the bed?" Vidalia asked. She was confused. She thought that he would jump at the chance to sleep next to her.
"No, the couch is fine." He replied.
The party was in full swing when Zarbon entered the grand ball room with Vidalia on his arm. He had opted out of the armor and cape. Instead, he wore a black jacket, white shirt, and black slacks. Vidalia was dressed to kill in a black corseted dress that perfectly fit her curves and had a split on one side that went almost to her hip. She had on sandals that laced up to her just below her knees. Her hair was down and cascading down her back. There was a sparkling tiara resting on her forehead. She looked every bit the princess she was born to be.
Zarbon couldn't help feeling like a king with her beside him. It's true that Vidalia is beautiful, but she is also lethal. She is strong and powerful and was getting more powerful all the time. With every battle, every training session, her power increased. It was possible that, with time, Vidalia could one day be almost as powerful as Zarbon. For some reason, that prospect excited him. Even now, the way she was carrying herself was incredibly sexy to him. He could really get used to this.
The two made their way through the crowd. There were citizens of high standing from all over the planet were in attendance. King Tomo had even invited a few royals from some of the neighboring planets. There was food, drinks, and music. Zarbon escorted Vidalia to the dais where the king sat on his throne. He had brought another chair for his guest of honor, Zarbon. "Good to see he put out a chair for you." Vidalia mumbled.
"If there's a chair for me, Dali darling, there's a seat for you." Zarbon replied, a devilish grin on his face. Vidalia rolled her eyes.
They made their way up to the king and they both greeted him with a bow. "Lord Zarbon, Princess Vidalia, Welcome. Please join me." King Tomo said. He motioned to a man standing to his right, "This is Ario, my advisor."
Zarbon looked him up and down. King Tomo didn't seem to understand just how pissed Zarbon was with him and now here he was introducing him to the one man that was supposed to be advising him about such matters. Zarbon sat down on the chair provided to him, disregarding Ario entirely. Vidalia looked at Ario just in time to see him glaring at them both. Vidalia smirked and gave him a wink. Ario's face reddened. He was visibly irate but couldn't say anything. Zarbon pulled his companion into his lap.
After a few minutes of watching the party, Zarbon lowered his face to Vidalia's ear, "Go play," he told her. A mischievous grin stretched across the princess's face. She was to be his eyes and ears and to report back if she learned anything. She was going to do it her way.
"Another drink please!" Vidalia called to the servant carrying a drink tray. She was few drinks in and seemed to be drunk. She was having so much fun. Ario rolled his eyes, "Saiyans," he spat, "Such disgusting creatures."
Zarbon's fists clenched, "Watch your mouth."
"You're the one that made the mistake of bring you're filthy Saiyan whore. Did you really expect her to behave in any way other than an uncivilized monkey?" Zarbon stood and started towards Ario but was stopped by King Tomo. "Please, Lord Zarbon. Ario, apologize, now."
Just then someone appeared and whispered into Ario's ear. "I apologize, Lord Zarbon. Please excuse me, gentlemen." He quickly left the room. Zarbon looked back out into the crowd at Vidalia. She was having fun and being herself. Others around her were laughing at her jokes and enjoying their time around her. Zarbon smiled, shook his head, and went back to his seat. "I'm sorry for Ario, sir. The princess is a delight. My subjects are having the time of their lives with her." King Tomo said.
"Yes, she certainly is something." Zarbon replied.
Ario stepped out into the hallway and walked out onto the balcony where someone was waiting for him the shadows. "Is everything ready?" Ario asked him.
"Yes. We have enough soldiers ready to go. We can overtake Zarbon's ship and make him get Frieza here. Then, we can put a stop to his tyranny."
Ario nodded, "I want to meet with your troops tonight. Have them meet me at the warehouse outside the village."
"Of course, sir."
Just then, the balcony doors slammed open, and Vidalia rushed out. She ran to the rails and almost threw herself over as she began to be sick over the side. "Oh god, I drank too much." She groaned.
The two conspirators relaxed. "It's just Zarbon's monkey. She's drunk." Ario said. "Do what I told you."
Ario walked back inside, and his accomplice flew off. Vidalia lifted her head, looked over at the door, and grinned. She went back to the party.
The festivities were beginning to wind down. There was music still playing. The tune was soft and sultry. Vidalia began to sway along with the music. She closed her eyes and let her inhibitions melt away. It was then that she felt him press against her back. She knew it was Zarbon. Her eyes remained closed as she continued to move and letting her body melt into his. She was in too good of a mood to spoil it by fighting him.
Zarbon nuzzled his face into her neck and inhaled her sweet, vanilla scent. He'd grown to love that smell. He slowly ran his hands from her waist up her sides, her arms, to her shoulders. He planted soft kisses on her neck up to her ear, "Have you been having fun?" he said softly.
"Surprisingly, yes." She replied.
Zarbon huffed out a laugh, "Good, angel. And did you happen to hear anything?" He spun her around to face him. They continued to move with the music. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him down so she could whisper into his ear, "The king is a moron, his advisor is playing him. He's leading the rebels. They're having a meeting tonight."
Zarbon pulled away from her to look at her. He was stunned. Vidalia shrugged, "I may not have been as intoxicated I let on."
Realization began to hit Zarbon. He cupped her face and said, "Such a clever princess."
Vidalia was a warrior. She knew the importance of her mission and she would never be so reckless as to be drunk and vulnerable when there were enemies all around her. She smiled, "The best part," she began, "I also have a location."
Pride swelled up inside of Zarbon. Vidalia had played her part and done exactly what she was supposed to do. He swept her up in his arms and kissed her. This kiss was different. There was something more to it. It didn't come from a place of lust. It came from a place of something else. Zarbon pulled away and looked into her icy blue eyes. There was blush on her cheeks. She was gorgeous. Another realization hit Zarbon.
Fuck! I think I love her.
"You okay?" Vidalia asked.
Zarbon quickly regained his composure and pushed those feelings down. They had business to attend to. "I'm fine," he said "Let's go kill some traitors.
Vidalia's smirk returned to her face and there was a glint of mischief in her eyes. "Now, You're speaking my language."
