"I don't know about this." Zuko admitted as he gazed down at the snow-covered slope with anxiety building in his stomach.

"I do this all the time with little kids, Zuko. Besides, what's the worst that could happen?" Aang asked.

"I fall to my death and you three are arrested for causing it."

"You've thought about this?" Sokka raised an eyebrow as he tried to keep a grip on the otter penguin that was trying to waddle back down the slope, "you stay here, you little-"

"You're not scared, are you?" Katara's tone was light and teasing as she positioned the otter penguin in front of her.

"Of course I'm not scared!"

"Well then, your majesty," Sokka drew out his words over the title before running forward and curling his knees up as he landed on the otter penguin's back, starting to rapidly slide down the slope while yelling, "see you at the bottom!"

"Hey, wait for me!" Katara shouted after her brother, copying his movements until she was speeding down the slope behind him.

"It's really not that difficult," Aang insisted after Katara and Sokka's cheers faded as they sped away, "you just gotta make sure your knees are tucked in before you hit the ground."

'Just run and jump, Zuko,' he thought to himself as he gripped onto the otter penguin, biting back the wince from the pull in his shoulder 'you've got this.'

Before he could overthink it any longer, he started to run.

And run.

And run.

Just as the ground disappeared from under him, he jumped, tucking his knees under him as his heart pounded violently in his chest. He could feel the rush of the wind in his hair as a yell escaped his lips and he started sliding.

"You did it, Zuko!" Aang's shout echoed as he sped past snow drifts and trees, moving faster than he ever had.

'I did it.' "I did it!"

The wind blew into his eardrums, making them ache with the force and unraveled his hair from the top knot he had grown so used to wearing as Fire Lord, but he couldn't bring himself to care as he leaned to the left to avoid a tree trunk.

"Woo-hoo!"

"Hey, what do you know? Zuko can have fun!"

"Zuko, lean to the-!"

He flew off of the otter penguin and into the snow, his head stinging before he even made impact and his cheeks burning from the cold.

"-right," he heard Katara finish her sentence before feeling two sets of hands on his shoulders around his wrists, pulling him to his feet which made his eyes burn as the sun reflected off the snow and bring his attention back to his bruising shoulder, "you're bleeding."

Zuko lifted his palm to the stinging on his forehead, wiping away some of the pink-tinged snow and relieved that his bandage work was still intact.

"What if he has a concussion? I'm too young to go to jail, Katara!" Sokka groaned before holding up two fingers, "how many fingers am I holding up?"

"Fourteen."

"He definitely has a concussion! Quick, who's the current Fire Lord?"

"Me, Sokka!"

"He's messing with you," Katara rolled her eyes at her brother with her hands still clasped firmly around Zuko's wrist, "come on, let's get back to camp. I need running water to heal you."

"What happened?" Aang asked as he finally stopped sliding down the slope and held onto Zuko's other arm.

"Zuko smacked his head on a tree limb."

"That was barely a branch," Zuko groaned as he tried to pull out of Katara and Aang's iron-like grip, "I can walk on my own, I'm not even dizzy."

His boots decided to fail him due to their lack of tread, making his knees buckle and almost sending him to the ground.

"Not happening, Fire Lord Hotman."

Zuko groaned as they continued to hold onto his arms while Sokka walked behind him, asking him who the best warrior in the Southern Water Tribe was and insisting that he was still doing concussion check when Katara called him out for it.
