Summary: Things get complicated when ninjas get involved.
"Are you nuts?" Blake's question rebounded around the empty and destroyed alleyway the two Ranger teams fought in. Cam led the way, with Hunter and Crystal behind him. Blake and Lucy trailed the couple. "I'm contemplating if you have gone insane," Blake muttered, folding his arms over his chest.
"I take back everything I ever said about you being smart." Hunter quipped, then defended himself from a quick smack from his girlfriend. "I'm serious, sunshine."
Cam motioned to the trash that some people picked up from the fight. "Have a look at what they've done."
"It's only going to get worse from here," Crystal stated, folding her arms over her stomach. "If we don't stop the Winds, they will destroy the Dino Rangers. Mesogog probably already knows about Lothor's reappearance, so we have to work based on that face. But I'm surprised he went after the Winds and not us."
"I think they're stepping stones to us," Lucy mentioned, glancing around. "But we have to figure out how to take them down without hurting anyone on either team."
"You two cannot agree with him on this," Blake complained, tucking his hands under his arms. "This is a bad idea."
"It's the only one we've got." Crystal returned, stopping in the middle of the alleyway. The others rounded her to stand in a circle.
Lucy swallowed. "We knew sealing him down there wasn't going to hold." She stated. "We have to contain the winds long enough to figure out how to defeat him…again."
Crystal ran a hand through her hair. "Which starts where it all ended." She turned to her boyfriend. "Hunter, you, Cam, and Blake go check out the Abyss."
"Why us?" Blake protested.
Lucy turned to him, disbelief on her face. "You want to repeat the final battle?"
Blake pointed to her. "Fair point."
"Look, we know what's inside." Crystal continued, shaking her head. "Our powers, more importantly, their powers. We'll need all the help we can get if we are going to assist the Dino Rangers in dealing with the Winds." She motioned to Lucy and herself. "Look, we'll meet you guys when you're done, but we have to deal with some damage control first." She bopped her sister on the shoulder. The two took off to deal with the aftermath of the fight with the Dino Rangers.
Blake shook his head at his brother and Cam. "No way." He protested, looking between the two ninjas. "No. There's no possible way I'm going near that thing again."
An hour later, Blake was staring down at the abyss below him. Like his brother and former teammate, he was harnessed and hooked to a railing near Hunter's truck. "Uh, I want to say one last time. I think this was a bad idea." He glanced over at Hunter and Cam, who looked at him.
"Okay. Let's go and …uh, stick together." Cam told the two brothers. "We split up; we're through."
All the Rangers in the Lab turned at the sound of footsteps. Crystal and Lucy descended the stairs, both dressed in their ninja suits. The Rangers stood in their street clothes, having taken the time to demorph before figuring out what was happening. Dr. Oliver and Hayley glanced up, smiling when they saw the sisters walking in. "Lucy! Crystal! You guys are okay." Kira smiled, moving over and hugging the two tightly.
Crystal laughed, squeezing her back gently. "Yeah, can't knock a ninja down. Sorry we couldn't answer. Something came up."
"Where were you guys?" Ethan asked, moving to the two.
"Not helping us," Conner grunted, leaving the Lab.
Ethan moved to follow, but Lucy touched his shoulder, watching Conner disappear. "I've got him." She mumbled to the Blue Ranger, following Conner out of the Lab and Dr. Oliver's house.
Conner stood out in the yard when she stepped onto the porch, staring back at her. "Why? Why did you leave us? We're a team."
"I had an idea of what was happening," Lucy answered, leaning up against one of the posts on the porch. She pulled her circular communicator out for Conner to see, letting it gleam in the sun. "After Lothor…" She paused, looking down and taking a shaky breath. "After we defeated him and we came back, we needed a contingency."
"In case you or Crystal lost it." Conner sighed.
"Emphasis on me." Lucy nodded, frowning. "It has to be activated. It had to be bad for it to go off. One blink, and I knew exactly what happened. I could sense the Abyss of Evil's energy radiating off the three like a sickness waiting to spread. Then I felt it. The sensation of Zira rising to meet that sickness."
Lucy sighed. "After Tutenhawken, I've been trying to convince myself I'm back. I'm me. I'm healing, and everything that led me to this day proved that I am worthy of my powers. During that fight, when…when Zira nearly came back, I knew everything I had built…would crash down. If I had joined against them, I would have opened up to her. Having you all mad at me sounded much better than facing the reality of hurting everyone I love."
"Luce…" Conner reached out to her. He watched her steel herself momentarily when his hands found her hips. She finally relaxed, leaning her forehead against his chest. "I'm sorry. I didn't…."
Lucy let out a wet chuckle. "Everyone thinks I am okay. That nothing got to me. That she…didn't get to me." She sucked in a breath, her arms gripping the back of Conner's jacket. "But she did. I hurt my team…because I couldn't face her. It took me months to come to terms with what she did. And it doesn't help that everyone's acting like I'm going to shatter into a million pieces since Tutenhawken."
Conner tightened his arms around his girlfriend. "You don't have to face it alone. You have us, Crystal, and your old team…when they aren't trying to kill us and minus Shane," He smiled when Lucy laughed. "A wise friend told me once that it's okay not to be okay. But to have a support system when those bad days come around."
"Your friend is wise," Lucy mumbled into his shoulder. "Like, super wise."
Conner laughed. "Yeah, she's great." He pulled away from her. "Just promise me you'll come to talk to one of us when those days come around."
Lucy sniffed, wiping her eyes of welling tears. "Deal." She wrapped her arms around Conner's neck. "I love you."
Conner smiled for a second. He's never been in a relationship long enough to say those words to someone continually. Yet, here it was. The perfect girl for him. She's been to hell and back and wears it like a crown. And yet, the smiling, the teasing, and the joke make her seem more real. Even more now than before. "I love you too."
"Aw, how cute." Crystal's voice resounded, startling the two into breaking apart once more. They turned to find the blonde leaning on the doorframe, arms over her stomach. "As much as I love the confessions, we gotta talk."
Lucy pulled away from Conner. She wiped her face on her sleeve, hoping she didn't look like a raccoon with mascara running down her face. "Is this payback for terrorizing you and Hunter?"
"Oh, no, Lu. I'm going to be a nightmare on that front. Just wait."
"I am suddenly overcome with a mix of fear and dread."
"Whatever. Come on, oh lovely Luna."
"Seriously? That's the name you came up with? Weak."
"Will you shut up and just come on?"
Conner stood in the yard, laughing at the arguing sisters as they entered the house again.
Back at the Abyss, the three former Ninja Rangers landed on a ledge, breathing in the toxic fumes and evil energy that thrived in the cavern. Unbuckling themselves from the ropes, the three turned around. Hunter scrunched his nose in disgust at the smell. Blake groaned, waving a hand over his nose. "Man, it stinks."
"Let's find our powers and get out of here," Cam stated, looking around.
Hunter spotted one power first, moving to point at it. "Over there."
Floating above an altar-shaped rock, glowing green, was the samurai amulet. Next to it, a silver power floated around, flashing between a silver coin and a wolf. "The samurai amulet and the Lunar powers." Cam readjusted his glasses.
Hunter glanced around. "I can't believe there's no one guarding them."
A giant smoke cloud descended between the ninjas and the power. The smoke transformed into Zurgane, kelzaks, and other ugly monsters. The ninjas fell into their stances. Blake glanced at his brother. "You had to say it."
Zurgane pointed his sword at the three. "Welcome to my home, Power Rangers. Attack!"
Conner, Kira, and Ethan found themselves at Hayley's hours later. After Crystal and Lucy left to talk, the three decided they would try to figure out what to do. So, laptop in hand, Ethan led the three to Hayley's to dig more up. While researching, Ethan came across videos of the final battle. "Says here, the Ninja Rangers simultaneously defeated like 100 space mutants."
"I believe it was after fighting them and training with Lucy and Crystal," Kira stated.
"Oh, come on." Conner scoffed. "They weren't that tough. I'd fight them right here, right now." All three turned at the sound of the doors opening. Shane, Tori, and Dustin walked in with menacing scowls. They moved to stand in a line. Shane sent a blast of air around the room, powerful enough to knock people to the ground. Tables, chairs, and people were sent scattering. Conner pulled himself up to a sitting position. "Can I get you anything? A donut? Maybe a muffin?"
"Try to stay away from sugar." Shane snarled lowly, glaring at him. "Makes me hyper."
"I'd hate to see him when he gets hyper," Ethan commented.
Tori rolled her eyes. "Get up!" She demanded. "We have some…unfinished business to attend to."
The Rangers climbed to their feet, falling in line to match their colored predecessors. The three evil Rangers moved closer to them. "Can we get on with this?" Shane asked.
Conner led the three toward the ninjas. "We're not gonna fight you here." He stated. Not when he had to worry about the civilians in the room. Just like the Guardians taught them…out of the way of innocent people.
"Well, then we're just gonna have to destroy you." Shane barked out.
"We'll meet wherever you want," Conner stated. "But you come alone."
"Why should we agree to that?"
Kira stared at Dustin, who returned it with a sneer. "It's called honor." She stated. "I thought you ninjas knew all about that. At least…the Guardians do."
The two Ranger teams stared each other down until Shane had enough. "Fine." He grounded out. "Under the Harbor bridge. In one hour. The six of us. No one else. Not even the Guardians. They stay out of this."
"Fine, we'll be there." Conner agreed. Lucy was going to kill them. And then Crystal was going to kill them.
The three ninjas backed away, disappearing in seconds. Ethan gawked. "I need Crystal or Lucy to teach me to ninja streak."
The three in the Abyss were not having a good time. They pulled out all the moves while trying not to fall into the pits of the Abyss. So naturally, the Guardians would not be happy with them. Cam struggled to reach his powers at one point, leaning on the edge of a cliff over a pit. Zurgane yelled, sending electricity to the ground, causing it to shake violently. Cam stumbled back, missing his chance to grab the powers. Hunter hit the ground hard. But Blake had an unlucky streak. He tumbled, falling over the edge of the cliff he stood on.
"Blake!" Hunter called, diving after him. He caught his brother's hand and the cliff, holding them up. "Gotcha."
Cam, forgetting about everything but his former teammates, ran over to Hunter, gripping his wrist to try and haul him up. "Hang on!" But Cam didn't have a good feeling about it; with the weight of both Bradley brothers and no way to safely get Hunter's hand away from the cliff, Cam felt uncertain of their chances of getting out.
"I'm trying!" Black called. "I'm losing my grip."
"Now it's your turned to feel what it's like to live at the bottom of the abyss." Zurgane snarled. He tapped his swords together. "Goodbye, Rangers." In an instant, he disappeared with his posse.
The ground shook violently, leading Hunter to lose his grip. He anchored himself seconds later, with Cam gripping his hand. He grunted at the strain. "I can't believe I'm gonna miss my race tomorrow," Blake complained from where he hung.
Hunter grunted. "Did you seriously just say that?"
Cam tried his hardest to keep his grip on Hunter, but it slipped fast. "I can't hold on." The three grunted again, but three hands grabbed onto the Thunder Ninja and Cam.
An hour later, the three Dino Rangers stood under the Harbor Bridge, reviewing the details of their upcoming fight with the Wind Rangers. "So, if they use special powers, we use them," Conner told Ethan and Kira. "If they morph, we morph. Sound good?"
"Does to me." Kira agreed.
Ethan glanced around. Conner did, too. After numerous lessons with the Brewers and watching Lucy when danger was near, the Rangers picked up on a few tips. One, it felt too odd. And if it felt strange, something was coming. Conner's assumptions were right a second later when a blast of air sent the three to the ground. Shane, Tori, and Dustin emerged from the opposite side of the Rangers, hands outstretched. They stopped, lowering their hands.
Kira climbed to her feet with the boys. "Man, do they have to keep doing that?" She demanded, wiping her jeans off with her hands.
"Fools!" Shane insulted, smirking darkly at the Rangers across from him. "You showed up."
The Dino Rangers fell into stances. The Wind Rangers mirrored. It was only a split second before the fight began.
Conner and Shane both went for high kicks, avoiding each other. Conner went for another high kick. Shane went low, and then Roundhouse kicked. Conner rolled to dodge. Rising to his feet, Conner turned around and caught a punch. He sent a point of his own over Shane. The Wind Ranger tried another punch.
The Dino Ranger blocked the punch. Shane tried another, missing Conner. The soccer star used his super-speed to avoid the punch. He tried to attack from behind. The ninja stopped, disappearing in seconds. Conner stared at the red ninja on the rafter.
—
Ethan and Dustin both go for dodging attacks. Dustin blocked a punch. But because of Ethan's hard skin, it hurt. He tried for another punch. Ethan stopped, sending him back. The former Yellow Ranger groaned, rubbing his wrists. The Blue Ranger merely held up his scale-covered arms.
Dustin seems impressed, but not enough. He went for more punches—the two flipped over. Ethan blocked a kick and then caught a punch. He flipped Dustin over. Only for the Yellow Ranger to land on his feet. He swept Ethan's feet from him. Ethan landed, sweeping Dustin's feet from him. The Earth ninja took the opportunity to dive into the earth.
Ethan rose to his knees, unsure of the attack. He heard the earth's crackling but was uncertain where it was coming from. Finally, he turned. Dustin burst out of the ground, flying right at him. Ethan had seconds to dodge, flipping back to avoid being tackled. The two stared at each other, then attacked once more.
Kira tried to trip Tori, flipping on the railing in front of the Yellow Dino Ranger. Kira tried to kick again. Tori flipped off. The blue ninja caught Kira's punches, locking her arms at her sides. She jumped over Kira, twisting around to lock Kira's arms. The Yellow Ranger struggled but followed Tori. She jumped over the ninja and kicked back. Tori lost her grip on one of Kira's hands. She tried to grab the other and flip her. Kira landed on her feet, knocking her hand away.
Tori swung her arms, calling on her water powers and throwing them at Kira. The Yellow Ranger retaliated with her sonic scream. The two forces collided, knocking both girls back a few inches.
Shane flew across the rafters, sending a stream of air at Conner. The Dino Ranger jumped out of the line of attack, landing right behind the ninja. He punched. Shane blocked. Conner knocked it away and tried again. Same result. Shane hit his hand away, pushing him back. Shane went for another punch but shoved Conner from the walkway. Conner hung at the mercy of Shane. The air ninja did nothing but push him off. Falling from that height, Conner used his super-speed to land and roll. Kira and Ethan regrouped around him.
The ninjas gathered around each other. "This was boring," Tori complained.
"Shall we?" Shane asked.
Dustin shook his arms. "Oh, yeah!"
The three prepared to morph, and a yell stopped them. "Wait!" Cam and the Thunder brothers hopped the fence, moving over to their former team with their eyes trained on the Dino Thunder Rangers.
Kira glanced between Blake and the team. "Wait a minute. Blake? That's how I know you. You were on Crystal and Lucy's original team."
"Good, because we can use all the help we can get," Ethan added.
"We stick with our own," Blake commented, walking to stand in front of Tori.
"Lothor has shown us the error of our ways," Hunter added, following his brother.
Cam folded his arms across his chest. "Whoever didn't follow us, we'll destroy."
Dustin clapped his hands. "This was gonna be great."
"Wait." Cam raised a hand. "First, you have to take these." He held his hand out for the three. In it were the three primary Ranger's disks. "A little power boost directly from the Abyss of Evil."
"But we already have our powers." Tori glanced at the disks.
"These were every single ounce of power we had when we were Rangers." Hunter breathed, grinning. "We'll be able to take down the Guardians. Finally take their powers."
"You better be right about this," Shane stated, taking his disk. Tori and Dustin followed suit. The Wind Rangers flicked their disks off, letting them crash to the ground and replacing them with those they took from Cam. They moved to press the button. Electric shocks rattled through the Rangers, knocking them back onto the ground. For a second, they didn't move. Then Shane groaned.
Dustin pushed up to his elbows, rubbing his head. "Dude, what happened? Oh, my bell was seriously rung." He accepted Hunter's extended hand, pulled to his feet by the crimson ninja.
"How did we get here?" Tori asked, turning to Shane after Blake helped her up. "The last thing I remember…."
"Lothor," Hunter stated. "He's back."
"Yeah, Sensei told us," Shane confirmed.
Blake shook his head. "No, that was Lothor."
"Dude, I know Sensei when I see him." Dustin paused. "Unless it was Lothor dressed as Sensei."
"This was all highly amusing, but can someone fill us in," Conner interjected, leaning over Hunter and Blake's shoulders.
"…we were about to fall inside, but Dad and the sisters got there just in time," Cam explained, glancing around at the gaggle of Rangers on the stairs. They moved to the Lab to ensure that no prying ears were about to hear the story of how the three set out to save the Ninja Rangers.
Sitting on one of the bottom stairs with his brother, Hunter glanced around. "We had to act like we were on Lothor's side to get you guys to take the right disks." He finished, leaning on his knees. "The sisters thought it would be the only way to get you to trust us."
"It's a good thing you guys showed up when you did," Conner muttered.
Shane cracked a smile, shoving Conner's shoulders. "Yeah, a good thing for you guys." He laughed, earning laughter from both teams.
Conner rolled his eyes. "Whatever, dude."
Shane turned to him, bopping his shoulder. "I'm just playing, man. You guys fight like rock stars."
"I, for one, will take that as a compliment," Kira added, smiling from where she sat next to Trent and Tori.
"No doubt from the best the Ninja Academies had to offer." Tori glanced around, not finding the two Guardians. "Where'd they go? I thought they were here."
"Our daughters are closing the abyss forever." Sensei Hamato spoke up, seeing Tori's look. She sat next to her husband, the two in their ninja suits. They were younger than Sensei, in the mid-40s at most. Tali Hamato's ninja suit was black with a white lining, a golden sun, and a silver moon on the back, her blonde hair in a high, braided bun. Ezra Hamato's suit was also black with the sun and moon but had black piping throughout.
"Crystal contacted me a few minutes before they moved to the Abyss," Ezra said from where he sat beside his wife, folding his arms over his chest. "Said they were going to finish what was started last year."
Seconds after he spoke, the rock wall crawled into the ceiling. The Lunar Guardian walked in, focusing on something that wasn't the Rangers. She walked straight to Sensei Hamato, bowing gracefully before rising. She wore her ninja suit like her parents, but hers had alterations. A silver pauldron, etched with a moon with spirals of leaves, sat on her left shoulder, the strap around her torso. Her gauntlets were topped with silver vambraces. Her dark hair was braided down her back, hanging into the quiver of arrows and rapier she had. She pulled two glass vials out of the quiver, full of purple and pink liquid. She handed them to her father. "From that hell pit itself. Just as you requested."
"Louisa Selene Brewer." Her mother scolded, pushing off the table. "Do not call it a hell pit."
Lucy tilted her head, crossing her arms over her chest. "You cannot scold me when I nailed Vexacus to the wall…again. And I saw the booger, and it just wasn't a fun time. Hell pit, mom. A literal hell pit. I now understand why Lothor wanted out."
Her father laughed. "You have to admit, honey, it isn't great."
Conner turned to the Guardian, an eyebrow quirked. "Louisa Selene?"
"What's it to you?" Lucy turned to him, catching sight of all the Rangers looking at her. "Any of you start calling me Louisa, I'll quit."
At that moment, the Solar Guardian walked in. She, like Lucy, had alterations to her ninja suit. Gold vambraces clapped around her forearms, with her gauntlets peeking out. A golden pauldron, a sun and spirals carved into it, sat on her right shoulder, with the straps around her torso like Lucy's. She had her staff and rapier on her back. Her hair was braided around her head in a coronet style, like a crown. "Why are you going to quit?" She asked, stopping before her mother and father and bowing quickly.
"My full name."
Crystal nodded, trying to hold back her laughter. "I mean, I'm Crystal Aeliana, so…I can't say much." The blonde answered, clicking her tongue. She turned to the Rangers, some of whom were laughing or trying not to. "Don't laugh. What would have been awkward is if you named me after the sun, and I turned out to be the Guardian of the Moon."
"Anyway," Lucy sang, turning to Crystal. "Tell mom it was a hell pit down there."
Crystal glanced at her mother, arms moving across her chest. "It was a hell pit." She muttered. "Nearly had to destroy Shimazu again. But, the Abyss of Evil is closed, permanently." She sighed. The Rangers smiled at the news.
"But Zurgane got free," Lucy spoke. "So, not out of the woods yet."
"The Guardian is right," Sensei spoke, falling back into his mentor role. He rose from his chair. "We have a serious problem on our hands. It's going to take all of us to defeat him."
Before anyone else could speak, the computer went off. "We've got company," Hayley announced.
"It's time." Dr. Oliver spoke. "Let's show them what teammate was all about."
The Guardians led the charge—the two run with each other, leading the others into battle. Shane and Conner followed behind. Then, Ethan and Dustin. Kira and Tori. Cam and Trent. Blake, Hunter, and Dr. Oliver trailed the pack. The thirteen stopped at a cliff overlooking the quarry, down below the army of Triptoids, Tyrannodrones, and Kelzaks. Elsa stood with the monsters around her. Zurgane was next to her. "It is time." The older general announced.
"Let's be careful. But let's get it done." Dr. Oliver advised.
"You guys ready?" Conner called.
"Ready!" The Rangers announced.
Dino Thunder, Power Up!
White Ranger, Dino Power!
Ninja Storm, Ranger Form!
Thunder Storm, Ranger Form!
Samurai Storm, Ranger Form!
Tyrano! Tricera! Ptera! Brachio! Drago!
"Dino Thunder!" The five current Rangers called once their helmets snapped into place.
Power of Air! Power of Water! Power of Earth! Crimson Thunder! Navy Thunder! Samurai Power!
"Ninja Storm!" The former Rangers called, feeling their suits wrap around their bodies.
The Rangers all turned to find Crystal and Lucy not morphed. Lucy glanced at their helmets and smirked. "You ready?"
Crystal cracked her neck and rolled her shoulders. "Let's crack some crowns."
Eclipse Ranger, Dino Power!
Guardian of the Moon!
Guardian of the Sun!
The Rangers jumped from their cliff, landing in front of the army. "Ranger Power!"
Crystal and Lucy stepped forward, helmets gleaming as if they signified a small amount of the power the two held. "Tell Lothor that was a cute plan," Crystal called, brandishing her broadsword. "But it failed."
Lucy lifted her blade, pointing it at the generals. "You know, so will they."
Elsa growled, reaching for her sword. She yanked it out, pointing it at the Rangers. "Attack!" The army rushed forward.
"Kick it!" Conner called. He, Kira, Ethan, and the primary Wind Rangers called on their bikes, hopping on and taking off.
Shane and Conner teamed up. Both took off after using a mound as a ramp. "Punch it!" Shane called, using his lasers to blast accomplices back. Conner joined in, utilizing his lasers. The two landed, circling the monsters. They hopped off, unsheathing their swords and heading into battle.
Dustin took the high route on his bike up a hill. "Lasers!" He called. He hit both goons in the chest, knocking them back.
Ethan rode the other way, hitting another goon in the chest. He swerved around, seeing a clown monster coming at him. The Ranger called on his shield, protecting himself from the hit.
Dustin used a dirt pile as a ramp, flying into the air. Then, he turned around, aiming his blaster at the clown. "I hate clowns." He fired, sending the clown to the ground.
Dr. Oliver fired blasts at Zurgane, hitting the area around him. The general turned around to find Crystal, Hunter, and Blake charging him. Both brothers had their staff and auxiliary weapons out. Crystal called on her staff, going in for the first hit. She slammed the base into the ground, pushing off and shoving Zurgane to the ground. She rolled to a stop, seeing him climb to his feet.
Blake went next. He went for a swing. Zurgane blocked and shoved him to the ground. Zurgane went for another hit with his other sword. Hunter blocked. Blake stopped his first sword and struck. Zurgane fell back.
Cam and Trent rode to their pod of triptoids. Trent started firing lasers from his ATV while Cam pointed his sword behind him. "Over there!" He called. They ride past the pod. Trent was still firing. Cam swung, striking a Tyrannodrone in the chest.
"Super Dino Mode!" Conner called, pulling in the extra strength. The two jump up, flipping and rolling on the ground to confuse the monsters they face. They turned around, striking both in the stomachs. They swing again, hitting shoulders. The two kicked high, sending the demons back. They switched places, swinging again and hitting the abdomens of the monsters. In retaliation, one of the monsters sent lightning at the two, blasting them away from each other.
Kira and Tori were the ones dealing with Elsa. The two were avoiding Elsa's swinging and backflipping. Finally, Elsa sent lightning to the two, blasting Tori back onto the ground. "Super Dino Mode!" Kira called, flipping mid-air. She planted her feet on the wall of the quarry, pushing off. "Double team?"
"You're on!" Tori jumped up, catching onto Kira's ankle. Elsa sent multiple blasts of lighting at the two. But, unfortunately, none of it deters the two. "Fire!" Tori yelled. Both she and Kira pointed their blasters at the general and fire. It sent the general to the ground.
Several times, a silver streak hit Elsa, sending the general away from the two downed girls. Stopping in front of her teammates, Lucy shouldered her rapier. "Miss me, Elsa?" She taunted. Elsa growled, charging the girl and screaming.
Hunter and Blake flipped out of the way of a swing from Zurgane. Crystal ran past them, striking Zurgane in the stomach. She jumped to avoid a swing and used her downward momentum to strike again. Dr. Oliver followed her lead, pushing up and hitting Zurgane with his foot.
Zurgane turned, intending to battle the Black Ranger. Hunter and Crystal struck his sides, trying to hit him. He caught Dr. Oliver's, Hunter's, and Crystal's weapons, shoving them back. He sent a blast to Dr. Oliver, who was ready to receive it. Blake had another idea. "Thunder shield!" He called, forming a large, purple shield and absorbing the lightning from the former general.
Hunter fired his blaster, pushing the general back more. Crystal charged up her staff, allowing the sun to glow. She streaks past him, striking him once in the chest. "I'll take it from here." Dr. Oliver announced.
"Light it up, Doc!" Crystal called, regrouping with Hunter and Blake off to the side.
"Brachiostaff. Energy Orb." The Black Ranger lit his sword up. He sent a burst of energy to the general, sending him back to the Abyss.
Cam yelled out, landing roughly on his side. He grunted. Trent landed in front of him. "You okay?" He turned around, fists to his helmet. "They're asking for it." The three wolf blades snarled in front of the two.
"Let's give it to them," Cam stated.
Super Samurai Mode!
Super Dino Mode!
The two took off, flying at the pod of henchmen. They land on the opposite side. Cam powered up his sword, sending it on strike, effectively destroying his section of the pod. Trent used his talons to destroy the other pod.
One of the two hit Shane in the chest, sending him back. He hit the ground. Conner covered him. "Triassic time!" He called, powering up his shield. "You're gonna regret this!" He charged the two, swinging at them both with his sword. After multiple hits, Conner knocked them back.
"You thinking what I'm thinking?" Shane asked, stepping up next to Conner.
"Oh yeah."
"Battlizer!" The two call. In a fit of flames, the two were standing in their battlizers. "Fire!" The two landed before the two monsters, listening to them explode.
The Rangers regroup in the middle of the quarry. "Nice moved, you guys!" Conner complimented.
"Back at ya, bro." Shane returned. He and Conner clasped hands.
A rumble resounded. Marah and Kapri popped out of an invisa-portal. They landed on their butts but quickly climbed to their feet when they spotted the Ninja Rangers. "Guys!" Kapri called, running to the group.
"What were you guys doing here?" Cam asked, stepping between them and the teams.
"Was that any way to speak to family?" Kapri asked.
"Depends." Crystal folded her arms over her chest. "You on our side again?"
"Duh," Marah stated. "Why else would we bring you this?" She pulled out a large pink and purple bottle with the Lothor insignia. She uncorked it, releasing a red mist.
"It's our students!" Shane smiled.
"Now!" Kapri smiled. The two pulled off their former garbs to reveal their pink and orange suits. The Rangers ran to check on their students.
All the Rangers returned to the Lab after safely getting the students back. Once the Ninja Rangers demorphed, Cam handed his amulet to Hayley. "I'm afraid it's dead." She announced. "Lothor's extraction of the powers left just enough for one last fight." She glanced up at Shane, who was standing across from Conner.
"Yeah, well, I guess it's a good thing we got you guys," Shane stated.
Conner patted his shoulder. "You've got your part. It's our turn to take over where you left off."
"There's just one thing I still don't understand." Dustin pointed out, tapping Conner on the back.
"What's that, Dustin?" Dr. Oliver asked, walking with him.
"Who rescued Sensei?"
"Oh, I think we can answer that." Kapri smiled from where she and Marah slid into the conversation.
The two recounted their story of sneaking Sensei past Lothor. It had all of the Rangers laughing. "What?" Mariah asked, looking around. "Do you know how heavy he was?"
"Yeah, hey, Sensei. You should cut down on the cookies with your afternoon tea." Kapri returned.
Sensei nodded. "I will keep that in mind. Now that I am returning to my normal life."
Ethan smiled. "I'm all about getting back to normal."
"Yeah, but not until we get down and dirty." Blake smiled, clasping his hands with Ethan.
The following day was the last day of the Nationals for Blake. Staring out at the Ninja Rangers' old riding grounds, Blake smiled. His brother rounded the truck. "Should almost be ready." He told the rider, nodding to the two sisters sitting in the bed. Lucy sat on the lip of the truck bed, handing and sliding tools to Crystal when she asked for them while the older Guardian tuned the bike.
"Just like old times, huh?" Crystal joked, tightening another bolt before letting the tool clatter to the ground. "Except I thought big shots had mechanics to tune their bikes." She playfully glared at Blake, who turned to her.
The former Navy Ranger climbed to his feet, moving over to the bike. "Yeah, but none make an engine sound as wonderful as you, Crystal."
"That's a smooth compliment," Lucy smiled. "At least it's not a complete engine re…ah!" She yelled out, twisting just enough to see Conner standing right behind her, his arms looped through hers. He pulled away from the truck enough that Lucy was fully supported by him, with her legs still hooked around the lip of the bed.
"Hi." Conner laughed, tightening his grip on Lucy.
Lucy started to wiggle around. "You're a real nightmare, McKnight," The Silver Guardian muttered, reaching back to smack his head. She missed, grazing the back of his head.
Conner pressed a kiss to her temple. "Love you too, Brewer."
"Hey!" Crystal didn't look up, but Hunter glanced at the couple. "I need my right-hand woman back. I need a tool. And I am not talking about you, Conner."
"She's meaner to me since we started dating," Conner muttered, helping Lucy from the truck.
Lucy laughed, leaning into Conner. She settled herself on the ground. "Eh, I made the beginning of her relationship with Hunter a hot mess. She's just getting me back."
Hunter chuckled, handing Crystal one of the tools from the kit. "Yeah, just a little payback." He joked, helping Crystal down from the truck. "Everything looking good?"
"Perfect." Crystal grinned. "Should help Blake win the top spot. Like always."
Blake returned her smile, clapping hands with her, Hunter, and Lucy. The rest of the Ranges join in, all walking by and wishing the former Ranger good luck.
The Rangers found themselves in the front of the crowd, cheering on Blake when he raced. The girls were in the front with Dustin, Ethan, Marah, and Kapri. They and the group went wild when they watched Blake sail through the air and win the whole Nationals. Blake pulled his helmet off, cheering with his former teammates and friends. Conner and Hunter lifted him on their shoulders.
The sisters turned to each other, laughing. They tapped their forearms in celebration. "How it should go," Crystal muttered to her.
"Always."
