A/N: I've written some doozies, but this one…this one is something else. Buckle in.
Disclaimer: I don't own Chuck
The Mollyverse Universe
He tossed and turned in his sleep, the dream appearing more real than anything he had ever encountered.
He was alone, things connected to his head. Men were running around the room, looking terrified.
The man in charge spoke, "None of the guards are answering. Let's get out of here." The door kicked opened and there was Sarah holding a gun.
"I've been looking for you," Sarah said. She kicked the gun out of the man's hand, and brought her right down, hitting the man in the back, sending him into the window.
Chuck saw himself, standing in his old apartment, the one that he met Sarah in. Adelbert de Smet, that was the man's name. Except he was also called The Belgian. How did he know that? The glass from the apartment window flew in. He was walking toward that window, and the light. He was already fading. This was wrong. This wasn't how it was supposed to happen. This wasn't right.
"It really is no use. He's almost completely gone," Mueller told Sarah and Casey. The scientist. His name was Mueller. Again, how did he know that?
"Shut up!" Casey grunted, and hit Mueller in the face with his gun.
This was wrong. He was fading…no not fading, blinking out of existence. He looked across the apartment, and saw a woman. He blinked, it was Sarah, but it wasn't his Sarah. She was older. God, how was she more beautiful than ever? Then she was gone. He looked down at his hands and watched them flicker, like he was disappearing.
"Chuck?" he heard Sarah call. The glass he had been walking through fell to the ground.
In the room he saw Sarah run toward his body. "Chuck! Oh, my God. Chuck, come on, please wake up. Chuck, listen to me. I'm here. Chuck, I'm here."
He found himself back in the apartment and opened the door to his old bedroom…the room that had become Sarah's bedroom when she had gotten the apartment. "Chuck, I'm here."
He walked into the room. "But you're not," he replied, unable to stop himself. This wasn't right. Chuck was flickering. In fact he was more not there, than there. "You're not real. This is a dream."
"I came to rescue you. I'm right here, Chuck," Sarah told him, smiling. But he knew….this wasn't his Sarah…his wife. Where was this? Why was this? And how was it wrong? Not just that he wasn't supposed to be here, but it was…wrong. Whatever it was, it wasn't supposed to happen like this.
He found himself in the room again, where Sarah was crying, and Morgan looked scared. Chuck was still in the chair, unable to move. "Chuck, please, come on," Sarah begged.
"Hey. Hey, hey, hey," Morgan said, trying to both comfort her and encourage her. His bearded buddy. He was the best…but again, it wasn't HIS Morgan. This was weird, insane….and wrong. "Tell him what you told me before, okay? He'll hear that, I know it. This is your chance. Don't-Don't be Sarah Walker the spy, be Sarah Walker the girlfriend."
"Chuck, please," Sarah began. "Chuck, I love you. Please wake up. I have so much that I want to tell you."
He found himself in the dreamlike world again. "I found your proposal plan."
"No, no, no, no, no," Chuck answered. This is my mind playing tricks on me. You" don't know anything about my proposal plan."
"You we gonna do it on the beach in Malibu. Where we watched the sun rise after our first date. There were several race cars involved."
"I revised that."
"Chuck, I want to spend the rest of my life with you." Somewhere during that, they had switched back to the room. That's when Chuck saw her again, the older Sarah. No one else seemed to see her in the room. Her head was hung, almost in shame. Chuck found he wanted to comfort her. She made eye contact with Chuck, and suddenly, he felt like he should have stayed in the car…whatever that meant. She gave him a smile, his smile, shook her head, and mouthed, "never change." He would have answered, but the other Sarah began to speak, and the heartbreak in her voice, nearly broke his heart.
"I don't care if you have the Intersect or not. Without you," somehow the scene changed again, to his dream. Chuck was worried. Something was very wrong. He was flickering and was more not there than there. "I'm nobody. I'm nothing but a spy. Come back to me, Chuck. I want to marry you." She kissed him. She kissed him in the dream, and in the room. It should have worked. One magical kiss and it should have worked. He was flickering in the dream.
"I want to marry you," Chuck barely got out in the dream world. "Sarah!" he was flickering and he was nearly gone. "Sarah! Save me!" And suddenly, like a ball of light, he exploded, his body gone, and light anomalies flying everywhere. Sarah never noticed one flying into her.
Back in the room, Chuck never moved. Morgan stared at the body, that laid there, lifeless. He was still breathing, he still had a heart beat, but the body…all that remained was the body.
"It should have worked," Morgan said softly. "It should have worked."
"I told you he was nearly gone," Mueller said, proud of himself. Sarah whipped in one motion, her gun out, and put a bullet right between Mueller's eyes. Casey and Morgan stared at her.
"I was too late," Sarah said softly, glaring at the body of Mueller. She turned to Chuck. "I was too late," she told Chuck. "I'm not giving up, I will get you back."
"Sarah, you can't turn back time," Morgan said. Sarah turned to Morgan. "You can't." Sarah never answered.
"SARAH!" Chuck yelled, bolting upright in the bed.
"Hey, I've got you," Sarah said, grabbing Chuck and holding him. Everything was okay. He was in his house, with his wife, two daughters and son. It was all okay. He let out a deep breath. "Bad dream?"
"Nightmare," Chuck told her. "And…whew, it was really weird, weirder than some of those sci-fi shows I watch."
"Get some sleep, and you can tell me about it in the morning," Sarah told Chuck. He nodded, laid down, and almost instantly fell back asleep. She shook her head, got up, and headed out of the bedroom. She walked downstairs, through the kitchen, and over to the basement door. She opened it, walked down those stairs, and into the basement. She looked around walked over to the mini bar, got herself a water, and sat on the couch. After a few minutes a shimmering light appeared in mid-air, making Sarah snort. The older Sarah Chuck had seen in his dream stepped through the shimmering light.
"No matter what universe he's in, he always gets involved in something he's not supposed to," the older woman said, an amused smile on his face. "Is he okay?"
"He is," Sarah replied. "He quickly fell asleep. He didn't tell me what he saw, he just sat up, screaming, and then blabbered on about his dream being crazier than some sci-fi shows he watches…which is saying something."
Older Sarah snorted. "He somehow found his way into…well, in his words, my origin story."
"Of course he did," Mollyverse Sarah said. "Will he be okay?"
"He should be fine," Prime Sarah replied. "Hopping dimensions tend to tire them out, and I doubt he remembers in the morning." She paused. "Are you okay?"
"Well, actually, yes," Mollyverse Sarah answered. "This tells me I'm not crazy like I thought I was when I saw you back then."
"Funny," Prime Sarah said, grinning. "We're the Scully of the couple, and we're the ones that take this the easiest."
"Maybe it's because that nerd made us accept that we are what the kids call an OTP in any universe, anywhere," Mollyverse Sarah said. Prime Sarah raised an eyebrow. "A One True Pairing."
"We are," Prime Sarah said. She moved toward the shimmering light, but paused. "I know you've not really met her, but Ellie said something that…well….it's true. You can't go too far for love."
"How far did you go?" Mollyverse Sarah asked.
"To the ends of the universe," Prime Sarah answered. "Good-bye," she said, and stepped into the light and disappeared.
"I can never tell him about this," Sarah muttered to the now empty room. "He would freak out so hard and have to meet her." Sarah shook her head, shut out the light and headed upstairs. She climbed into bed, and scooted against Chuck, wrapping herself against him and holding him tight.
A/N: Told ya it was crazy.
