Chapter 37 - Another Talk With Takashi
The next morning, Izuna didn't wake up early for training because he had something he wanted to ask his father, so he waited and had breakfast with his parents.
When he walked into the kitchen, his father was surprised to see him and then asked, "Have you thought about what we talked about yesterday?"
Izuna looked at his father and said, "Yes, I did." But before he could finish his sentence and ask his father what he wanted from him, his father interjected.
His father said, "That's good. You must continue to train hard, and don't start slacking, or you will end up like me."
Izuna then surprisedly asked, "What do you mean like you, Father? Aren't you an elite jounin with your MS?" He was confused; he considered his father to be very strong, especially after his performance last night.
Takashi then said, "Exactly. Even with my MS, I'm only an elite jounin. Have you not ever wondered why I'm not at a Kage's level even though I have a Mangekyo Sharingan?"
Izuna thought about it for a second, then said, "I actually never considered it, so why aren't you?"
Takashi then said, "It's because I didn't train hard enough and became content with my strength once I reached Jounin level. Then, by the time I realized it was too late, I had already unlocked my MS by watching my father die in front of me, helpless to do anything due to my lacking strength. After that, I fell into despair and stopped training, which caused me to fall even further down."
Izuna then asked, "What are you lacking, Father? From what I've seen, you are very powerful."
Takashi then said, "You have only seen me use Ninjutsu, which I am at high Jounin level in, but my Taijutsu and Kenjutsu were only at low Chunin level when you were born. But after almost losing you and your mother on the day of your birth due to my own weakness, I knew things had to change. So, I have now started to train more in Taijutsu and Kenjutsu and am now a special Jounin level in both. And if it wasn't for this upcoming war and all the missions that go along with it, I would already be at Jounin level, which would then put me at a low Kage level."
Izuna was surprised to hear that his father was soon to be at Kage level, and it also all now made sense why his father, who had a Mangekyo Sharingan, wasn't famous in the Naruto anime. Even though he had a MS, he was weak, and no one ever found out. Hell, he might have even died in the 2nd Great War due to his weakness.
Izuna then said to his father, "Don't worry, I won't start slacking, I promise. The reason I'm not out training right now is because I wanted to ask for your help. Do you think you could start training me as a sensor?"
His father then said, "That's good, and yes, I will. First, let's see how talented you are in being a sensor."
The two then started to walk to the backyard, while his father gave a brief description about what a sensor does and then instructed him to sit in a meditative pose and told him how to sense his chakra field. It took around 10 minutes for Izuna to sense his chakra field, to his father's surprise.
His father then said, "You're starting with a range of 20 meters, which is really good. The average ninja has a chakra field of 5 meters. And those in the Yamanaka, Hyuga, and our Uchiha clan won't even be taught how to be a sensor unless they have a starting range of 8 meters, while the minimum requirement for the other Konoha shinobi is 6 meters. So, you are well beyond those starting points."
Izuna then thought, 'I guess when that god gave me affinity with everything, sensors were included.'
His father then said, "We will need proper training facilities, so tomorrow I'll take you to the place where we train our sensors in our Uchiha clan, and we will start going there every day I'm here until you have made significant progress."
Not having anything to do until tomorrow, Izuna left for his training ground to start his morning training.
He trained all day, using his shadow clones to improve in all aspects of being a ninja.
He also sent a shadow clone to the library for fuinjutsu training, as well as one to learn all the E and D-rank water and lightning jutsus he could find. Now that he could train in Aurora Valley, it was time to start learning these two affinities.
He was going to use his save point so that he wouldn't even have to worry about hiding the fact that he wanted to learn the water and lightning elements.
After learning them all, his clone left the library and dismissed itself, sending all the knowledge back to his main body. Where he then did the deed and was sent back in time.
